Jeff, a minion of Van Kleiss was walking down the hallway minding his own business... Until when he reached the corner he was going to turn, he was grabbed and pulled in by a hand. He looked at his assailants, he saw a boy with a red 'S' on his black T-shirt, a green skinned teenage girl in a black body suit and blue cape and a blond haired girl in green holding a bow and aiming an arrow in front of his face.
"The portal machine... NOW..." The blond girl said assertively.
"The portal machine is in Lab G34 down the hall to the left then the right you can't miss it!" Jeff said throwing his hands up as the three intruders still glared at Jeff for a moment.
"Thank you, sir." Miss Martian said kindly before the three moved down the halls.
Jeff looked down the direction the three went cautiously, before looking around once more, and walked down the hallway again whistling. As the group was walking down the hallway, Artemis was scowling at the Tablet she was holding as if she was having trouble with something.
"Something wrong, Artemis?" Superboy asked looking at Artemis for a second.
"Nothing. It's just that... There seems to be some sort of interfering signal being transmitted throughout the fortress that's jamming the map settings on this thing." Artemis answered, putting the device away.
"I guess those creeps are started to up their game, since they know were here. And trying everything they can to slow us down." Superboy mused.
"But if the portal machine is really held in this 'lab', I'm sure we will find it." Miss Martian said and the group kept walking.
As the four walked down the hallway and made a left, they all immediately stopped as they looked over at an odd display in front of them.
As the group turned the corner, they saw the door to the lab right there. Artemis walked up to the wall computer and then looked down at the control panel as he carefully took the lid off and placed it to the side.
"I need to be careful... If I touch the wrong wires together or make the wrong move, it can alert the guards of our current location..."Artemis said quietly.
As the group made their way into the lab, they looked around at all the machines, lab tables, notes, examination tables, and much more. The group split up as they all searched the lab, looking around for the portal machine. They opened up cabinets, opened up drawers, and looked everywhere else they could. The group continued to look around the entirety of the large lab with Superboy and Artemis looking through the tables and even the several computers while Miss Martian was scanning the rest of the lab to see what they could find.
"It's not here." Superboy grumbled as he lightly banged a table but still cracked it in two. "That guy lied to us."
"No, he was telling the truth." Miss Martian replied. "I read his mind. He really though the machine was in here. Either the machine was move or…"
"He was set up to lure us into a trap." Artemis finished.
As Miss Martian scanned a cabinet, she located something interesting and opened up the cabinet to reveal a clear container with a red liquid in it. She pulled it out and looked at it in her hand as she turned to Artemis who was looking around on a computer and Superboy opened up and random drawer and was looking in it.
"Hey guys, I believe I might have located something of interest." Superboy and Artemis looked over at Miss Martian as she walked over to them.
"What is it?" Superboy asked.
Miss Martian held out the container for them to see. "I've located a small amount of Acceleration Dust."
Superboy looked at her with confused expressions.
"What's Acceleration Dust? And why is it so important?" Superboy asked.
"This is a very special form of Dust, a form of Dust that's very rare. If given to fuel a automobile, a robot, or even somehow fused into a person's body, can give them the ability to travel at incredible speeds. This may be extraordinarily helpful to us in the future." Artemis answered. "I studied up on all forms of Dust with the Justice Friends. Acceleration Dust has to be processed into a liquid form before it can be used properly and this stuff gave Living Bullet his speed power. Sounds intriguing. I say taking it, just in case we might need it in the future."
"Well then take it, it's not like the bad guys are gonna need it or anything." Superboy said.
Miss Martian nodded and put the small container away as Artemis was typing away at the computer. As her two friends were still looking, Superboy walked over to an automatic metal door nearby and gave the door itself an odd look. He couldn't understand how or why, but he had a gut feeling that something was in that room... Something very bad... As Superboy stood in front of the automatic metal door for another moment, Artemis and Miss Martian took notice.
"Superboy, is something wrong?" Miss Martian asked, snapping Superboy out of his gaze as he turned back around and stuttered.
"Oh, umm y-yeah, sure... I just have a feeling that the machine we're looking for is in that room." Superboy pointed his thumb over to the door behind him. "Is there anything you can figure out what's behind the door?"
Artemis typed away at the computer. "Hmm, it seems that they are working on something called 'Project Brightburn'... The rest of the files about the program is encrypted, and will take a while for me to decode them."
"Alright then." Superboy said as he turned back around to the door and walked causing the door to automatically open up as he walked inside.
Artemis and Miss Martian soon followed as Superboy looked around the bit of a smaller lab curiously. She saw dozens of notes scattered around a table along with a computer and jars filled with some type of yellow liquid. Superboy picked up one of the notes and looked at it.
July, 7/1/17, Van Kleiss, Log 25,
Subject B-3 is doing remarkably well. Vitals and heart rates are all normal, still no visible negative effects of the black magic exposure, and is growing stronger every day. Already implanted with artificial memories of training to become skilled and ready for anything. Subject will be up and ready for combat soon.
Superboy stared at the notes, very suspicious and curious.
That's when Miss Martian and Artemis entered; Artemis went to the computer as he started to look up any useful information as Miss Martian continued scanning the drawers and cabinets. "Looks like the machine's not here."
"Maybe but there is some more digging I'd like to do on this 'Project Brightburn'... Hmm, what's this now?" Artemis started reading the additional notes from the computer as Superboy turned to her.
"What is it?" Superboy asked as Artemis still stared silently at the screen. "Artemis?"
Superboy put his hand on Artemis' shoulder as he started to lightly shake her. "Artemis what's wrong?"
"I- Umm... Perhaps it would be best if you see for yourself." She said as she clicked several more keys on the computer, as the sounds of mechanics moving around could be heard behind them.
Artemis, Superboy, and Miss Martian turned around to see a seven foot tall clear container with the same yellow liquid in it rise up from the ground. The entire group was in total shock and terror when they say what was inside.
"It's... It's..." Artemis stuttered, looking at what was inside the larger container while being unable to comprehend it either.
"Me..." Said Superboy as he looked in the container of what it looked like to be, Superboy.
He looked to be a bit muscular, but he still had the same signature dark hair of his Kryptonian heritage, and seemed to be aged a year or two older, looking a bit more developed. He had black pattern dragon tattoos running down his arms and was in a different set of clothes. He wore a tight fitting black shirt and pants with black fingerless gloves on his hands. He wore black boots on his feet and he appeared to be asleep with an oxygen mask on.
"Artemis... What the hell is this?" Superboy asked, terrified, confused, and enraged as Artemis tried to tell Superboy in the gentlest way she could.
"Well-"
But before Artemis could answer, to everyone's horror the OTHER Superboy that was in the yellow liquid eyes opened to reveal scarlet irises. The three jumped back as this newly awakened doppelganger eyed Artemis, Miss Martian, and Superboy... Especially Superboy with a glare that could kill. The group just stared in frightened awe as the copy punched the glass of the large tank he was in as crack lines formed and the yellow liquid started to pour out.
CRACK
CRACK!
CRACK!
But after one more hit...
Shatter!
The entire tank broke as the yellow liquid poured out as the copy stood there awake with the oxygen mask still on her face. But as she ripped it off, it revealed a wicked smile was on her face as she glared at all the kids once more, before jumping down from her elevated level as she landed and stood in front of Superboy, Artemis, and Miss Martian as she stood over all of them. His glowing red eyes left tracks in the air a lot like how Grimm did. Superboy took another step back as this new Superboy stared back at her with that same wicket smile.
"Hahaha... Well look at that, the original. Wow... You're even smaller than I expected. Getting rid of you will be easy." The man said as Superboy put his fists up and took another step back.
"Who are you!?" Superboy yelled.
"Hehe... Who am I? Well... I'm YOU, except added about two more years to be a LITTLE more developed. Plus infused with nanites to be STRONGER, AND much better trained. And... A heck of a lot deadlier..." The clone answered.
"They CLONED Superboy to be used as a weapon?!" Miss Martian asked as the man glanced at her.
"No, to be the PERFECT assassin..." The man said and out of nowhere, he kicked Superboy back.
CRASH!
Superboy flew back into the tables and cabinets.
"Superboy!" Artemis yelled but had no time to check on him.
The archer and Miss Martian readied themselves but Superboy quickly picked himself back up and glared at his doppelganger. "Okay... You wanna fight? Fine then! But what is your name?"
"The only name they gave me was B-3 or Brightburn which is the name of the project... Hmm... But, how about you just call me Brandon?" The young man said as he charged forward again and without time to react he punched Superboy so hard he flew right through the wall behind her.
SMASH!
Artemis and Miss Martian looked back at the massive hole in the wall and were stunned at the display of amazing strength.
They looked back at Brandon as he smiled and said. "Oh... This is going to be fun..."

Within the boiling lakes of lava, Rampage in her Four-Arm-sized monster form, charged at a wall with Scotty in her arms as she smashes Scotty through the wall of rock and both fall into another lake of lava, landing just over another platform.
SMASH!
Splash!
Rampage was on top of Scotty as she tried to knock over and down the Scotsman in the lake, or at least choke life out of. Rampage then just decided to beat Scotty as she raised her fist up and brought it down each time. Raven tried to blast Rampage off Scotty, but the four armed villain used her new earth powers to dig herself in and conjured a light shield to protect her back.
Pound!

As Rampage raised her fist again Scotty pulled his legs back, and kicked Rampage off him, causing the monster to fly several feet back and crash onto the other side of the platform. As Scotty got back up, he pulled his claymore back out as it glowed with blue energy as he gripped the handle.
As Rampage picked herself up and looked at Scotty, she smiled and let out a malicious laugh. "HAHAHAHAHA... Do you think a little weapon like that is going to be enough to beat me?"
She got no response from Scotty as he charged forward growling like a wild animal.
But that's when Scotty pulled his claymore back and swung it as it caused a wave of energy to blast forward and made Rampage go flying back into another wall as the blue energy wave hit him.
VRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW
SMASH!
But Rampage just smashed her way through the pile of rocks she was buried under and she looked at Scotty growling again. "Is that all you got?"
Scotty looked up at one of the giant machines hovering over Rampage's head. Scotty looked back at Rampage as she charged up another energy blast of power from her mouth. Scotty held his blade up defensively as Rampage blasted forth another beam of power.
VRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
But just as the blast was about to hit Scotty, Raven blocked the beam with a barrier and Scotty swung his sword, redirecting the attack to the machinery above Rampage's head, causing it to breakaway and fall. Rampage looked up in confusion only for a split second before the machine fell on top of her head.
CRASH!
Scotty blocked his face before looking back and seeing the heavy and gigantic piece of machinery on top of Rampage. But after several seconds passed, there was a creaking sound as Scotty looked with a determined expression at the giant piece of machinery was being lifted back up. Scotty and Raven saw the monstrous Rampage lifting the machine over his head with all four arms.
"Hahaha... Clever." Rampage said as she tossed the machine back at Scotty.
Scotty charged forward and sliced right though the huge hunk of metal with his claymore, charging right at Rampage as he slashed her across the chest and face several times with his sword before grabbing Rampage by the head, and with one hand used his enormous strength to lift her over his head and tossed the villain into another wall made of rock, smashing and flying through it…
SMASH!
Scotty stood there another moment silently before pointing his finger forward and yelling. "A-HA! Take that you four-armed tatty!"
…Only for Rampage to walk forward again without a scratch on him as Rampage immediately quieted down.
Rampage charged forward once more and Scotty charged in as well. But as the two were mere feet apart from each other, Scotty jumped over Rampage as he landed behind her. Quickly turning around as he started viciously slashing at Rampage's back with his claymore glowing with blue power. However as Scotty was hacking away at Rampage's back, he noticed the giant's body was healing and forming itself back together, and that Scotty's attacks were becoming less and less effective.
Scotty stopped attacking for a moment as he backed off a bit. But that's when Rampage quickly turned back around and punched Scotty in the chest, sending him flying back and smashing into yet ANOTHER rock wall.
SMASH!
"Wait! No you HEAL!?" Scotty asked in shock as he picked himself back up and Rampage just jumped through the air and landed in front of Scotty, grabbing the Scotsman by his throat and pinned him against the wall.
"Those are just a few of the perks of being the guinea pig with millions of tiny robots injected into you... Now I can heal from all of your attacks and be immune to your attacks as well..." Rampage said as she clenched her hands into fists and punched Scotty in the face several times, smashing Scotty's head into the wall of rock.
But, that's when Scotty grabbed another one of Rampage's incoming fists and held it back with all his strength. Scotty then threw his head forward and head-butted Rampage across the lake of lava with such force it created a shockwave that blew the lava back and caused Rampage to crash into yet another rock wall, but this time, the hole created in the wall spilt even more hot magma all over the monster.
SMASH!
Scotty stood back up as he grabbed his arm and held it in pain, actually, his everything was hurting. Raven landed next to him to try to heal him…
But, Rampage like before just picked herself back up and looked back at Scotty with hatred in her eyes as she released a blast of fire and lightning at Raven, forcing her to block and the force of the attack blasted her through the wall. Scotty forwarded his brows in anger as he held up his blade once more, ready for Rampage to attack again. Rampage merely roared at Scotty before she charged at him on all four arms and two feet as she charged at Scotty like a raging bull. As Scotty pulled back his blade, Rampage grabbed him and held Scotty in the air as his nails dug into the Scotsman.
The was when Scotty felt his body burning and surging with electricity while ice spread across his body as he struggled as best he could to get Rampage's hands off of him. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
He pulled back his foot and kicked Rampage in the face sending her stumbling back a few steps. Scotty slumped back to the rocky ground he was standing on, the exposure to the Dust energy having taken a heavy toll on him. Scotty weakly stood back up as he placed his hand on his arm and looked at Rampage as she stood there smiling at the Scotsman.
"And you're supposed to be the world's strongest Huntsman." She said as she charged forward again at Scotty, but Scotty jumped over Rampage's head as Rampage head-butted the rock wall Ed was leaning against to pieces.
SMASH!
Rampage turned back around to face Scotty, as her mouth once again started to glow with the explosive Dust energy coursing through her body...
"This is going to be tougher than I thought." Scotty muttered as Rampage fired another blast at him.
