Scrooge glanced over at his old friend in slight concern as they walked through the town of Gravity Falls.
After their short talk earlier joined her walking back to where her family is staying.
After all besides safety in numbers and he knew their discussion was far from over.
"So," Lydia said glancing over at Scrooge, "Since brought it up earlier how have things been with your family? Now that you're not avoiding them like a hard headed idiot anymore."
Scrooge gave a slight smile though internally frowned as he worked with Lydia in the past to recognize that she was still worried and on edge.
And given recent events happening in and outside her family he couldn't blame her.
But while he sadly can't put her worries to rest right now.
He can at least do what he failed to do for his family till recently, act like any true McDuck and Hunter by being here for an old comrade and friend when she needs him.
So silently vowing not to fail his friends and comrade's like his family he replied and restarted their earlier talk.
"Oh they are doing well," Scrooge said with a smile that faded somewhat as he continued.
"Things are still tense a bit between Donald and myself, but we're talking again." He shrugged with his smile becoming fond. "As for my grand nephew's their good lads all three and true McDucks."
His expression became exasperated, "Though I dread the idea Louie and Stanley ever meeting."
Lydia gave a snort in amusement turning fully around to face Scrooge. "Oh?" She arched a brow amused, "Got yourself a little con artist?"
Scrooge gave his own snort,"Wellll wouldn't quite go that far, the lad just has the habit of letting his greed override his common sense sometimes."
Lydia gave him a flat stare, "So basically a chip off the block then."
Scrooge gave a unamused look in return "Very amusing Lydia, but while I might be a tad greedy." He pinched his fingers together with Lydia giving a eye roll.
"I've always made my money fair, square, and with plenty of hard work."
Scrooge gave disgruntled grunt, "While my nephew like Stanley seems to make a habit of taking any short cut he can to make a quick buck."
Then he gained a sad look mixed with anger though not directed at his nephew or friend but rather himself and certain gold obsessed lunatic.
"Though he's been acting off lately ever since that Golden Castle nonsense."
Lydia got annoyed look on her face, "Yeah heard about that on the news sometime before my grandson got pulled into that disappearing act.
She let out a slight growl, "And from what heard from Sebben about that crommy god while catching up on entail that was just the tip off of the mess that greedy loon caused.
She spat, "It seems even when it isn't a crummy triangle that Bill is a name that brings nothing but trouble.
He let out a sigh rubbing his forehead, "Aye that it is, as for my nephew I don't think the lad enjoyed seeing a darker side of where a person's greed can take you if they let it control them."
He gave Lydia a reassuring smile, "But I have faith the lad will bounce back from this and be all the tougher, smarter, and sharper for it.
Lydia arched her brow and let out a grunt of acknowledgment as Scrooge continued.
"Though that incident and recent events have pushed me to start training the boys more, to prepare for any trouble that comes their way
Scrooge glanced around warily, "And considering recent events can't help but think we've all got plenty of trouble heading our way, and not the fun kind."
He and Lydia stared into each other's eyes both momentarily sharing their fear for their loved ones and worry of how to protect them in that single glance.
Scrooge than shook his head before giving Lydia concerned look.
"That aside while we are on the subject of family how is your own adapting to their newest member?
His look turned inquisitive, "I know the circumstances that lead her weren't ideal after all."
Lydia snorted "Understatement of century Scrooge, honestly can you believe my grandson let her be born out of wedlock! "She said, waving around her cane as Scrooge gave choked laugh.
Lydia let out a huff, "Don't get me wrong while the girl might likely be a headache that's just how it is with family."
Scrooge let a smile crossed his beak as he nodded in agreement and continued to listen.
Lydia let out a growl, "But make no mistake she's one of the bright spots in this entire mess, and if that triangle, his buddy klary, or any of their goons try to lay a finger on her or the rest of my family, I'll show them just how mean this old lady can be!" She exclaimed at the end.
Scrooge let a chuckle, "On that I've got no doubt Lydia, after all you had a reputation in the hunter community in your hay day for a reason~" He said smirking at her which Lydia returned a bit, before she continued her reply.
"But to answer your question my family is doing as well can be despite the circumstances." Lydia grew a small frown as she clenched her cane a bit, " Hoagie I've already share some of my worries there, but I can tell he's a man on mission and whatever he's planning he's preparing for war.
She and Scrooge once again shared looks of concern as they took a seat on a nearby bench. "I'm just hoping that knucklehead isn't going to do something stupid that he'll regret."
"But as for his brother and Betty, " She let out a sight sigh "Well Tommy is mainly going through the motions it's clear that he just doesn't know what to think about what's been going on. Betty I love my daughter but can't deny that she wasn't quite same after her husband was killed and she is very protective of the kids."
Scrooge hummed, "That's more understandable, Donald from what I've seen and gotten about my nephew's childhood is the same." Scrooge shook his head, "He even worked to discourage any interest they'd have in a Hunter career, and didn't go beyond giving them the required training needed to protect themselves."
Lydia listened before she replied and continued, "Yeah hard to blame Betty even if I felt she worked to shelter them too much sometimes." She gained a slightly tired look, "So as you can imagine after having her son going missing for nearly week, having a girl pop up during it that turns out to be missing son's daughter, and then finally missing son comes back only he's now somewhere in his twenties instead of a twelve year old butter ball, she's been dealing with a bit of stress."
Lydia then groaned rubbing her head as if to get rid of a headache, "And then we come to the newest edition of our family Sky Entrapta Gilligan." She sighed yet again, "Don't get me wrong haven't known her long but like I said she's family and we already love her, and this whole thing has been hard on her."
Scrooge replied back arching his brow, "Yes and how couldn't it be? After all from what I gathered the lass got sent to an entirely new world she's only heard of from stories her parents told her while throwing the rest of you for a loop, dealing with idea of never seeing her parents again, and getting her father back only for her mother to still be out there with no memory of her while doing who knows what."
He said listing things off with tick of his fingers, "To anyone especially a child would be having a hard time is an understatement. I actually worry how the poor lass has been dealing with all this, her entire world and life as she knew it has changed forever after all." He finished with slight look of concern sent to Lydia who gave a snort in reply.
"You're not wrong, feathers she's dealing with a lot and can tell quite a bit is getting to her." She said with displeased look that soon carried hint of smile, "But at same time she's proving herself one of the most energetic and cheerful people I've meant, her spirit isn't anywhere near broken, believe me she's a Gilligan after all wedlock birth or not.
Lydia said with hint of pride before she groused again dragging her hand down her face, "I just wish she was bit less excitable because circumstances aside when she first arrived she was very eager to examine every little bit of the new world she found herself in." She let out a groan at some of the memories with Scrooge arching a brow.
Lydia shook her head as she focused back on the present, "But speaking of my newly acquired great granddaughter we still have a few things to take care of for her."
"Which is?" Scrooge inquired only for Lydia to grown.
"I mean there's also the minor issue of Betty once home in GrimmFall wanting to test her education level since she grew up learning from my grandson and his girl, but eh, she's a bright girl so no worries there." Lydia said with full confidence before letting out slight mutter, "She just needs bit more common sense to go along with her genius." She sighed, "Takes after her father too much in that department."
Heat than returned to her tone, "But the real problem is her legal identity, and while we got Sebben or even your own help to set I've got no idea how we're going to explain all this!" Lydia exclaimed with wave of her arms, "I mean spinning that mad god as a super villain was one thing but people are going to notice Hoagie coming back a decade older with kid in tow, how the heck are we going to explain this?"
Lydia than gained a serious look at her face, looking at Scrooge, "But putting all that aside think we put off the main discussion for long enough." Scrooge gained his own serious look nodding back, "Aye, so shall we go over what we know of the opposition."
Lydia grunted in affirmation, "We know that nutty triangle cult goons have all been locked up, with the last to join his buddies in the Hall of Heroes' cells soon enough." Scrooge carried on, "While their leader was cut loose by Cipher and Preston Northwest had his house alongside his blood soaked legacy collapse on him." He said going over the information he got from Sebben acquired from Miss Spell of the Justice Friends and former Te Xuan Ze Juniper Lee…
While also internally thinking good riddance in regards to Preston, he had the displeasure to meet him before and he considered even Ma Beagle or Glomgold at their worst more honorable than that slimy snake in the grass.
"Which brings up the question." Lydia said looking over the town and its citizens going about their day, majority of them blissfully ignorant of the threats plotting in the shadows so close to their home.
"Where does that leave the opposition side of the board?" Scrooge finished.
He gave a thoughtfully hum as he answered. "According to the information I got from Sebben before I arrived in town. Right now the confirmed threats we have on the opposition starts with a powerful undead Lich formerly known as Al Lusion." He grimaced, "And from what we've gathered he's a tough customer who wreaked havoc in Townsville Japan when he first rose up from the grave."
"Luckily those young super heroines the Powerpuff Girls managed to pull off a victory though it was a near thing." Scrooge let his grimace grow, "From what we put together from there after his defeat Preston Northwest was able to use his resources and connections to acquire the Lich's body giving Cipher a dangerous card up his sleeve."
Lydia growled, "I knew that man was a slime ball when I first laid eyes on him." She spat on the ground, "I should have knocked his teeth out when I had the chance."
Scrooge actually chuckled at the image, "No argument's here Lydia, but he was always an unsavory sort." His expression saddened, "Though I never thought he'd sink to the disgusting lows I heard of." He gave a sad sigh, "Which brings us to our next confirmed threat for this town." Lydia gained an icy expression on her face as she finished her friend's sentence, "Pacifica Northwest or rather Pacifica Cipher."
Scrooge nodded with a grave look, "Aye and as deplorable I found Preston never thought he'd go as far to sacrifice his wife and unborn child like this."
"Well he did and now we've got to clean up his mess." Lydia retorted back as Scrooge in reply arched a brow as he recalled something from the reports given to him by Sebben, "Didn't your family have a little visit from her after your grandson returned to this dimension."
Lydia grunted her reply as she recalled that recent memory. "She did actually offer Hoagie a chance in her father's grand world as part of the high class with the promise to reunite him and that girl of his Nyx." Lydia explained with great deal of scorn and bite in her tone, though also a undercurrent of relief.
Relief that despite her worries for her grandson's current mindset and potential path he wasn't that far gone.
Scrooge cupped the underside of his beak thoughtfully, "What was impression of the lass, also forgive me but I am surprised you didn't try to take her down then and there." He said arching a brow at her with his friendly retorted stoic to with bit of sarcastic bite,
"Couldn't risk it with the family there." Her tone and face grew disgruntled. "And as much as I hate to admit it while I can still give a good fight at my age I'm not the huntress I once was so unless I managed to snag a quick use of my anti-age cream stock in time things wouldn't have ended well."
Scrooge's expression grimaced, "So dangerous than?"
Lydia nodded, "Without a doubt whatever Cipher did to that kid he got exactly what he wanted in his herald." Lydia said before she continued thoughtfully, "At least from first appearances the girl is loyal to her demented father no doubt, but it looks like some of her own desires are starting to come into play."
Lydia stared at the ground, "According to Hoagie Cipher molded her mind from the womb to match his desires and think like him, but when Pacifica defended her friendship with Nyx I could tell the girl was genuine. And I have a hard time seeing how Pacifica making that offer to Hoagie being what daddy wanted."
Scrooge finished the analysis, "So Cipher's girl is starting to gain a desire to spread her wings a bit." His eye narrowed thoughtfully, "But whether this means more trouble or an opportunity remains to be seen."
He shook his head focusing back on the task, "But putting that aside the next potential problem that might be working with Cipher is another dimensional criminal and former ghost turned Gem that escaped the hall of heroes and nearly caused a tidal wave to hit GrimmFall."
"But the last sighting of him was from a satellite in orbit getting a picture of him leaving the atmosphere heading toward the moon." He chewed his beak frustrated, "So whether he's gone rogue with his own ambitions or if Cipher working another angle with him is up in the air."
Scrooge than gave Lydia an apologetic look, "Which brings us too,"
Lydia finished stoically, "Let me guess Hoagie's girl and mother of my new grandchild."
Which he nodded to.
Lydia took a deep breath through her nose before exhaling and then looked toward Scrooge who looked at her with a concerned gaze, "Alright feathers, what do we know about what my knucklehead's girl has been up to?" Than with a slight jab at her friend's beak she added bit snappishly, "And don't try to sugarcoat it either."
"I might be old but that doesn't mean I can't handle bad news anymore." She groused a bit as Scrooge rubbed his beak and slightly smirked at his friend's words, though it quickly faded as he sighed and looked over at her. "Never doubted it, Lydia and I'm afraid it's good to hear because what we haven't isn't good." He said sadly before regaining serious gaze matching Lydia's.
"From the sources that Sebben has either gathered or been told, our new Lady of Chaos has indeed been very busy." Scrooge began to tap his fingers against his cane thoughtfully as he proceed to go through is report. "She managed to temporarily convince the current now former Te Xuan Ze a mystical protector of Order known as Juniper Lee to join to her side."
Lydia rubbed her chin, "Yeah I remember that girl from when me and Stanley had to bail out the kids when they got caught by Cipher's goons. She was there along with her and grandmother." She muttered in thought, "Though haven't seen any of them around the town except that brown haired girl since, and believe me I would have noticed since I was turning it inside out to find the knucklehead before his kid showed up with answers."
Scrooge nodded his head, "Yes they apparently left Gravity Falls because of that craven Crom, but left their cryptid friend behind on this front." He then gave a weary shake of his head, "Though ultimately they'd prove late to the party, and I'm afraid this only helped fuel resentment that the young lass had for her position.
He sighed, "Not that I can blame her as the rules binding the Te Xuan Ze make them as much of a prisoner and protector.
Lydia gave a snort, "And let me guess the rest knuckleheads girl smell blood in the water and went in for the kill. Scrooge nodded his head warily, "Aye, from what I was told Nyx and her…familiar."
Scrooge gave a slight strange pause at the mention of the familiar which Lydia noticed with subtle arch of her brow but didn't mention. "Took advantage of her fears with some harsh truths by giving her dark look at her potential futures if she had continued on as Te Xuan Ze, while offering her a lifeline to grab onto.
He rubbed his head, "Naturally the lass took the lifeline and went rogue with Nyx, soon cutting off her mystical link to her big foot cryptid friend and the magical elders forsaking her power and title as Te Xuan Ze." He gained slight smile, "Though fortunately something good came out the latest recent mess with that winter wench."
Lydia arched her brow, "Oh?"
Scrooge continued, "Yes Juniper got involved in the mess and helped take down that primadonna pretender of an Elemental, even helping the real Ice Elemental as well as the Candy Elemental during this." He gave a shrug, "After that she paid Nyx a visit and apparently cut ties than later on sharing information with Miss Spell."
Lydia listened closely before replying, "Well that's some good news at least." She said before giving a slight groan."
Which Scrooge looked questionably at her for.
"Though wish you hadn't reminded me of the Elemental's as that's yet another headache I'll probably have to deal with."
Scrooge chuckled, a mixture of amusement and awkward, "Ah yes if I recall, Sebben mentioned off hand that the current Ice and Candy are old friends with your grandson's right?
Lydia let out a slight snap, "Yes and they were under my nose for years without me realizing anything!" She gave a weary sigh, "Which is a good thing I know with the exception Hoagie finding out eventually is going to be a headache." She muttered off to the side at the side but then gave a weary sigh. "But with this two elemental's being my grandsons friends since kindergarten, Hoagie getting kicked to another dimension, or even..." She trailed off the heat dying down slightly with a sad sigh, "Even my son in law's death on my watch retired or not." She looked down sadly with a tighten grip on her cane, "How much have I missed or let happen under my nose that I could have helped with or stopped Scrooge?"
The former headmaster looked at his old friend in concern placing a hand on her shoulder, "Lydia, you are being too harsh on yourself for what happened to your grandson or his father neither of it was your fault."
Lydia snorted bitterly and threw his words from earlier back at him, "Agree to disagree, Scrooge." Scrooge gave a slight start at her look turning sad and chagrined as he glanced away.
Things were quiet between for a few minutes before Lydia let out a sigh, "Sorry Scrooge."
But he waved her off with slight pained smile, "Its okay Lydia I understand believe me...believe me I do." He said with shake of his head, "Recent times are hard and picking at old wounds." He said with sad gaze to the ground, before he shook his head regaining his determined serious gaze."
"But we're getting side tracked my dear." Lydia nodded, "Yeah we are so tell me what else has been happening with the girl that my grandson has gone heads over heels for."
Scrooge gave his own nod in asset, both silently agreeing to leave it for now and focus on the matters at hand. "Well as said she's lost Juniper Lee as an ally, but unfortunately I don't think that will slow her down much."
"Why's that?" Lydia inquired curiously before continuing thoughtfully, "After all from the sounds of it she went through a lot of effort to get the girl on her she must have had a reason."
Scrooge frowned, "Aye besides seeing a chance to cause chaos and get a new ally from it, from what we put together Juniper Lee likely was intended to play a key part in what our Lady of Chaos is cooking up."
He glanced down with a frown, "Except from what Miss Spell learned from June, it seems that Nyx was quite open to giving the girl options."
Lydia frowned and raised her brow as Scrooge continued on, "Apparently she said the lass could walk away at any time after helping with her plan or even beforehand." Scrooge arched his brow at Lydia, "And while I haven't met her personal so I don't have her measure, I get the feeling our reborn chaotic entity was being honest, so what does that tell you?"
Lydia picked up with a frown, "That she prefers the carrot to the stick when it comes to recruiting, and," Lydia let out slight growl. "She has and likely always did a back up plan in case the girl got cold feet."
Scrooge nodded his head with grim look, "Exactly."
"Not only that." Scrooge continued with his scowl growing and his eyes darting to Lydia in slight concern, "But I'm afraid it's becoming clear the girl has not only big ambitions but also a large axe to grind for her mortal life."
Lydia face grew slightly dark as Scrooge continued.
"She's already a powerful and dangerous as a Lady of Chaos, but apparently she's seeking more something to give her an edge." He gave Lydia a serious gaze, "Something dangerous that she believes will not only secure her freedom and control of her life once and for all, but will also give her the edge she needs to contend against the likes of Sammael or anyone else that might prevent her from making her mark on this world."
Lydia gave a growl, "Well that's just great and let me guess the news probably gets worst."
Scrooge nodded with sigh, "Aye the girl is smart enough to know as powerful she is or no matter how powerful she could become she needs allies she can trust to help her."
Lydia placed her hand on her face as she gave a groan, "Perfect so she's been recruiting than?"
Scrooge nodded with faint scowl and Lydia gave another grumble.
"Perhaps the only time I wish the knucklehead had gone for an airhead, at least we'd have less of a problem."
Scrooge gave slight snort while patting Lydia back but kept his serious gaze as he continued.
"And I'm afraid we only know of two confirmed recruits we're in the dark who else she might have managed to bring under her banner."
"Well than don't keep me in suspense, Feathers." Lydia gave a grumble with Scrooge face becoming slightly hesitant not looking forward to sharing the news he has tied with this."
"Their names are Mac and Molly Mange though more recently they've also gained a new moniker the Metallikats." Lydia arched her brow, "They're a couple of career criminals and former gang leaders who were locked up, but after a prison escape gone bad they ended up washed ashore near the lab of one Doctor Hackle who would save their lives by transferring their minds to new robotic bodies."
Scrooge gave a shrug with slight amused smile,
"And to cut long story short their new bodies got them cocky and they blamed Phil for their imprisonment so attempted to kill him, and I'm sure you can guess how that ended."
Lydia gave a snort, "They got scrapped."
Scrooge gave a chuckle but Lydia arched a brow, "So how does that lead to them joining up with my grandson's girl and becoming a problem again."
Scrooge began to nervously tap his fingers against his cane with Lydia noticing some of the unease in his posture, becoming worried at what her friend had to tell her.
Scrooge sighed, "After their attempt to kill Phil lead to them dismantled their remains once again came in Professor Hackle's possession." Scrooge face became slight apprehensive in his next words showing that he was uncomfortable with what the scientist had planned, but even so hadn't wished this on him.
"He was apparently planning to reprogram them into more ideal citizens and make them his chauffeur and maid to show how well the process worked." Lydia's own face showed slight disgust at the idea.
Make no mistake she had seen the dark side of the word as a huntress and lived it, but rewriting everything a person was to your preference even a criminal didn't sit right with her at all, never mind making them your servants afterwards.
Scrooge nodded at her expression, "I know, not the most ethical of ideas." He massaged his forehead, "I had met Hackle before in the past and while he was a good person at heart with good intentions he had a bad habit of never thinking things through."
Lydia focused on one part of what her friends said, "Was?" She said with worry Scrooge looked at her with gaze full of sympathy and sadness,
"Yes was I'm afraid the good doctor is no longer with us."
Lydia sucked air in between her teeth as she closed her eyes, "Don't tell me."
Scrooge sighed, "I'm afraid so shortly after getting possession of the Metallikats, Hackle's lab had three unexpected visitors Miss Lee, Nyx, and her familiar Professor Pericles.
Though his explanation carried hint of sympathy his voice took a strange tilt at the third name something Lydia noticed but paid close attention to her friend's information, but already had a dark idea of where it was going, especially considering recent fire that happened in town that claimed two lives.
"None of whom were exactly pleased with Hackle's plan but," Scrooge paused before continuing on, "But I'm afraid that Hackle while pleading ended up setting off Nyx when he said he was only trying to make them into something better and she well completely fried him his body had to be identified through dental."
Lydia exhaled before putting her face in her palm, "Great just great. So the girl that stole my grandson's heart and gave birth to his child out of wedlock is currently not only gallivanting around causing havoc where she can and scheming, while having no memory of Hoagie or her child but also has already started to wreak up a kill a count with at least three potential confirmed."
Scrooge looked at her concern with a questioned raise of his eyebrow, "Three?"
Lydia sighed lifting up her face, "A few nights ago in town a house went up in flame, purple flames at that." She stared into Scrooge eyes, "Apparently the couple that lived there were killed in the fire though there was a survivor named Tambry Kane."
Scrooge frowned and listened.
"She was dropped at the hospital battered and bruised by an unidentified woman who according to the receptionist teleported away."
Scrooge gave a hum, "Hmm yes that fits the information I got from Sebben."
He looked up at her, "As I said earlier Nyx has a major axe to grind. She might not have the memories and emotions tied to them of her mortal life, but it's become clear that she wants all those she blames for her former life's misery and pain to pay in kind."
He warned Lydia with a grave tone and look, "That was confirmed and became all too clear when she along with the Metallikats and Pericles visited Sebben's office."
He frowned, "Apparently she was under the belief that Sebben with his Spiral Gem knew about her suffering and situation under that Chaos Lord Klarion and let it play out for sake of preferred timeline.
"Nonsense!" Lydia barked, "I know Phil and I know if he had any idea of what was happening to her or in this town he would have never of stood for it." She spat "Not even if it led to Sammael finally taking a dirt nap for good."
"Agreed" Scrooge said firmly before sighing, "But i'm afraid Nyx didn't know that or see it that way." "They attempted to hold Callie Brigg and a employee of city hall hostage to force Phil to retrieve and bring them a certain artifact Nyx and Pericles are seeking to give them that power boost."
He explained grimily but small smile came onto his beak, "Luckily a surprised guest helped get the drop on them and though they escaped empty handed no one beyond a scare was hurt."
Lydia gave slight sigh of relief at that news and while slightly curious at who said guest was waved it off for now, "That's at least one small bit of good news. Scrooge nodded with his face becoming stoic staring across the street without looking at anything in particular, "Yes but it further highlights memories or not there's still a part of Nyx that remembers the pain from her mortal life and wants to return that pain."
Lydia grunted, "And if what Hoagie told me about her life than what happen with her foster parents also proves that." Then she gave a little hum, "But the fact that she saved her sister rather than leaving her to die is important."
Scrooge nodded, "Yes but question is if this a good sign or bad sign? Did she save her sister because there's still parts of her old self in her more than than her desire for vengeance, or was it merely a whim she did?" He gave slight growl, "If there's one thing all chaotic entities have in common is that they can be unpredictable which makes them dangerous." He gave Lydia a look of deeper graveness and warning, "Which is why your grandson has to be careful there's no telling how she'll react when she learns about him and their daughter."
He tighten the grip on his cane, "For all we know she might decide to kill them to erase any former connection with her mortal life." Lydia tightened her own grip on her cane as Scrooge continued, "So be on your guard and be cautious when it comes to her."
Lydia snorted but the look on her face made it clear she was deadly serious, "Don't you remember who are talking to feathers? Because your saying this like I wasn't already planning to be cautious and on my guard with this."
Scrooge gave his snort and Lydia an amused look, "Oh yes Lydia you're the perfect example of caution, after all you're the huntress who dived head first into a horde of Ursa screaming like maniac with a broken leg."
He looked at her dryly as she gave a little cough and looked away, "Oh yes Lydia truly you can find no better example caution than yourself."
She rolled her eyes "Yeah, yeah, I was a bit of a thrill seeker when I was young so sue me." She regained a serious look as she continued, "But back to the point any other news you can share about Nyx."
Scrooge sighed but nodded his head, "Afraid just one last bit of bad news" He tapped his cane thoughtfully on the ground, "Apparently Sebben got a report from little Tokyo and it seems she and Pericles paid the Powerpuff Girls a visit, she held their father Professor Utonium as hostage in exchange for Chemical X.
His look grew worried, "They managed to escape with it and apparently some personal item of the girls." "I don't know what she's planning there but considering this is the chemical that created three young heroines with considerable power it can't be anything good."
Lydia groaned before sighing and asking with slight worry, "Great and nothing else about what she's been up to?"
Scrooge shook his head, "Afraid not Lydia."
"Alright," She sighed. "But putting my grandsons taste in women aside for right now," She looked at him with serious gaze, "Anything you want to share about the bird?"
Scrooge gave slight start as Lydia continued giving Scrooge a slight intense if not curious gaze.
"Because from what Hoagie told me he got from Nyx the bird is her closest friend and confident, the only person she loved just as much as her sister before Hoagie and her daughter entered her life."
She arched a brow at Scrooge, "And I can't help but notice that you seemed slightly off at the mention of this Professor Pericles, so what's the story, feathers?
Scrooge in reply gave a weary sigh and stared at the ground with pensive gaze.
"A lot of it is a story for another time Lydia but I will say that we've crossed paths before and have some history." He said before raising his head and locking eyes with her, "But I'll you this much Pericles has flown across this Earth just as long as the Sebben brothers if not potentially more."
Lydia raised a brow in slight surprise both of them knowing the significance of that. After all outside of certain immortals or Fallen there's not many around today who were around for WW2 and were in prime condition just as spry as ever. The ones she could think of like the Mobian sitting by her well each of them were dangerous and none of them were to be taken lightly.
"Don't underestimate him Lydia if there's any time where you have to be smarter than the smarties and sharper than the sharpies it's against him." "And now that he's become a familiar to a Lady of Chaos and has one of the most powerful illusion semblances I've heard of, he's all the more dangerous."
Lydia nodded in understanding, "Understood feathers. Though what do you think his own angle might be in this craziness?"
Scrooge looked at her questionably.
"Because if the info I got is accurate this bird and Nyx were pretty close, so you think he might not be happy with what happen to her and her memories?"
Scrooge gained a stoic look as he got up from the bench and hummed, "Tough to say Lydia while I don't doubt he's eager for more power, but he's a potential wildcard in all this." He then turned around to face her, "But I also know he's betrayed others before in his life, so we'll have to tread lately on that option."
Lydia nodded as she got up and walked up next to Scrooge, "Guess that covers what we know so far on what trouble to expect for this town outside of Cipher and that Klarion goon themselves."
Scrooge sighed, "And you can add a third name by Canaletto to that list thanks to information given by Juniper Lee and a lass Sebben mentioned named Raven."
She arched a brow and he gave a shrug, "Long story short he's another Lord of Chaos and a right nasty ancient evil entity from what I heard of in my own research of the supernatural through the years, and he's made a bit joining in alongside Bill, Klarion, and Nyx for his own bid of freedom."
"But!" He raised a finger "That's only if we let them get their wish to enter the world, we stop that than we only have to contend with the problems we know about so far, along with whoever Nyx manages to recruit."
Lydia gave a little scoff, "Say like it's simple."
He gave a little chuckle taking off his hat and brushing the dust of his hat, "To me this is just a particular busy day at the office and I'm more than up for the challenge. He finished with a smirk before placing his hat back on.
Lydia rolled her eyes before getting serious, "Yeah, yeah, but forgetting one thing." Scrooge arched his brow, "Which is?"
Lydia began to walk away with Scrooge joining her, "Outside interference or did a certain part of what I passed along to Sebben escape your notice?"
Scrooge gained a serious look on his face, "No it didn't but are you sure?"
Lydia nodded her head, "Oh yeah I'm sure Hoagie's girl told him about and revealed a number of interesting things to him in that pillow world.
She grumbled "Some of which is not going to make for a fun conversation when we have the time for it like the existence of the Fallen and Sammael."
Scrooge frowned, "Which brings us to yet another potential problem at hand."
Lydia nodded, "Yep, there's a Fallen in Gravity Falls. Her eyes narrowed "And there's a good chance wherever she is she isn't alone.

'In a mere two seconds, I feel like I'm an episode of the Twilight Zone.'
As soon Shade attacked, Spider-Man swung after him with the intent on helping SAM-R-I while the others made their escape into a garbage disposal. He would have stayed behind to help but he trusted them to get out and figured SAM-R-I would need back up.
'And just what the heck is that Shade guy anyway? Some sort of mutant or alien ghost? My Spider-Sense was screaming at me the whole time.' Spider-Man thought as he swung through the darkened hallway that Shade and SAM-R-I left in their wake.
His Spider-Sense had screamed danger at him, letting him know that Shade was very bad news and he didn't like SAM-R-I's odds if he was left alone.
SLASH!
'Is that them?' Spider-Man noticed a flash of light up ahead in a pitch black chamber and crawling along the wall into the room. 'If the name was anything to go by, I'd say this Shade works better in the dark. In that case,'
He activated the Spider-Light he had on the belt he had under his suit. If he could see Shade coming he might have the upper hand.
*DANGER!*
Spider-Man jumped back as his Spider-Sense went off, watching as a literal fist of darkness emerged from the ground.
"Not bad…" Shade's voice echoed throughout the dark room. "You've got some moves, kid."
"Got plenty more if you want to see." Spider-Man called out, trying to taunt his opponent into revealing himself.
"I think I'll settle for where I am now." Shade replied. "Truth is, I didn't want to be part of Van Kleiss' pack but the alternative was being sent back to die in outer space. He mutated us all, turning me into his alien/shadow hybrid, combining our DNA with that aliens and metahumans while injecting nanites into us to keep our bodies stable."
'He turned them into hybrids against their will?' Spider-Man thought to himself.
"With me, I got turned into a ghostly alien called Ectonurite. Not pleasing on the eyes but immensely powerful so there is a benefit. In addition to that, Van Kleiss added the DNA of a metahuman named Ebon to me, giving me power over darkness and shadows so now I don't need my cane to project shadows." Shade continued. "I…am the shadow!"
Shadowy tentacles lashed out and grabbed Spider-Man's arms and legs before he could react in time and another broke his light.
"And since I am stuck here, I might as well make a name for myself and see if I better luck then I did back home with the Justice League!"
SLASH!
Shade let out a scream as the shadowy tentacles holding Spider-Man were slashed by a blade of light. The web-head landed on the ground and looked up to see SAM-R-I standing in front of him with his sword glowing with electricity.
"I guess he's got the same weakness as dark themed villains do: light." Spider-Man commented.
"Indeed." SAM-R-I agreed as his sword lit up the chamber.
It was large and circular but barren and was stacked with plenty of cargo boxes, allowing for many shadows to be cast and perfect places to hide.
"He can blend with the shadows; hide until he is close enough to strike." SAM-R-I stated.
"Yeah and the cargo maze here provides him plenty of cover from the light." Spider-Man agreed and offered his own two technos. "We could try smashing the room and get rid of his cover."
"However, he could try and escape in the midst of that." SAM-R-I pointed out. "Or even try to lure us into a trap."
That seemed to be Shade's plan as a shadow portal sprouted up from beneath them. Both jumped back and looked over the edge, seeing the portal led down into a cavern with a river of magma at the bottom.
"Or he could try and portal us somewhere a little hot." Spider-Man quickly said as the portal closed.
And another one opened up above them, causing magma to fall towards them like a waterfall.
"Yikes!"

As Ikki, Metabee, Six and Rex rode the elevator up; they went past a few levels before going to the second to top floor of the tower. The doors opened and all fur could see that the gigantic room was nearly vacant. The room consisted of ceilings that were one hundred and twenty feet tall, a giant octagon shaped floor that measured around one hundred thirty cubic feet, what looked like to be a giant portal in the middle of the room with an arc, above the inactive portal machine was a large clear machine with a green energized liquid inside that was the Ion power core, the four gigantic cannons surrounding the top of the building being visible, and finally, several crates and pieces of advanced machinery that were pushed to the sides.
Ikki, Metabee, Six and Rex made their way over to the portal machine and power core slowly as Six spoke up. "This is it, all we need now is to get to the computers and reverse the power flow so it can cause a massive explosion.
"Great. But there's no Van Kleiss or his forces." Ikki said as Metabee then scanned the floor and walls for any sign of Van Kleiss, but only after a second of scanning the blue light he used flickered until it shut off and Metabee shook his head.
"Van Kleiss seems to be sending out some sort of signal messing with my detection abilities." Metabee said as then out of nowhere, the elevator door behind them shut as they all looked back.
All around them, dozens of Van Kleiss's forces teleported into the room in a flash of purple energy as dozens of Van Kleiss's forces surrounded them. Maybe over six dozen of Van Kleiss's forces were standing there, EVOs, thugs and not to mention their lord and master himself standing there beside them.
Metabee exposed his weapons from his hands and wrists as he aimed his laser cannons and missiles and other advanced technological projectiles at his enemies. While Rex changed his hands into gigantic fists while Six pulled out his swords. Van Kleiss walked closer as he stopped and stood in front of the four
"I would advise you to put your weapons away and surrender... You are CLEARLY outnumbered and outmatched..." Said Van Kleiss as he snapped his fingers as the four heard a growl from beside them, they looked over to see the shadow fiery monster that had been labelled E-Streak.
They then looked to their other side to see two new figures, Megabyte and Hexadecimal walking over to them with their fingers extending into very long and sharp claws.
"I suspect you came here to destroy the Ion cannons power core... Correct?" Van Kleiss asked.
"Actually, we were just going to reverse the flow of it to give us enough time to escape... But destroying it and having it blow up immediately, is still an option." Said Rex as Van Kleiss turned his malevolent golden glowing eyes to him.
"Ahh... Rex, I see you are harder to lose than I anticipated. Hahahaha... HAHAHAHAHA! I suppose I shouldn't be surprise that you managed to find me... But your tenacity won't protect you and your friends forever..." Van Kleiss said looking at the son of his former colleagues.
"We've beaten dozens of your goons, Ven Kleiss! And we're not going to stop now!" Ikki yelled.
"Hahaha... If you believe you can win against my forces so easily, then battle them. And if you're so confident in your abilities, try to destroy the cannons before they charge up and destroy the capital city of GrimmFall with the power of sixty megatons..." Van Kleiss said as he turned around and started to walk away. "Charge the cannons and fire when ready..."
As Van Kleiss walked through another automatic door, the workers who were on the catwalk ran over to the main power core and walked over to the four computers surrounding it as they began to type away. Rex, Ikki, Six and Metabee all looked around all enemies who surrounded them and still had their weapons trained on them, or readying they're claws or more melee weapons.
"We need to stop them before they turn GrimmFall into a giant crater!" Rex yelled.
"Agreed! We'll need to split up!" Six then turned to Ikki. "Ikki, I need you to stay down here and keep all these guard distracted while I go outside and destroy the cannons myself!"
"And I can help Ikki as long as I can, while trying to shut down the firing sequence from the computers up there." Metabee said stepping forward.
The EVOs then started moving to attack the three.
"GO! GO! GO!" Rex yelled as he ran through several EVOs as he extracted their nanites and jumped several dozen feet and then jumped on the side of the main power core, and then he jumped on one of the catwalks.
He began cutting a path through more thugs and extracted nanites from any EVOs he touched as he made his way outside by smashing though one of the observatory windows and landing on one of the four giant cannons. Metabee ran towards the control station and the four guards standing there as they aimed their weapons at the Metabot. But Metabee just raised his hand and blasted all of the Troopers, blasting them out of the way. Metabee then walked over to the computer as he started trying to cancel the charging program.
But before he could get fire enough, a clawed shot out from behind him and stabbed into the computer screen he was working on.
He turned around to see Megabyte standing there. "Now that's a face only a mother could love."
"I could say the same for you." Megabyte retorted
The digital entity flexed his claws as he stared down Metabee who looked mildly unimpressed. But the two didn't even waste any time as they charged at one another, Megabyte swiped at Metabee with his claws as Metabee punched him in the gut with his fist, sending him crashing into the wall.
FROOSH!
CRASH!
But Megabyte just pulled himself back out of the wall as he whipped his chin. "Impressive... For a toy bot."
"Come here and I'll show you a toy bot!" Metabee shouted.
Megabyte ran his claws along the wall, leaving deep scratch marks as he snarled and then charged at his opponent on all fours. Metabee threw both hands in front of him as he started blasting Megabyte with a laser barrage.
FRRROOOOOOOOOSHHH!
"RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Megabyte roared as he jumped into the air before rocketing back down at Metabee as he grabbed Metabee and pinned him against the main power core.
Metabee grunted as he kicked the metallic monster and charged into him with another fist.
Meanwhile Six and Ikki were at the main floor as Six was fighting off dozens of enemies to protect Ikki, slashing right through several EVOs as he then swept the feet from under a massive one as he lifted his blade and stabbed it into the monsters heart with his silver coated vibro blade, killing it. But that's when Hexadecimal flew in and wrapped a single hand around Ikki's neck holding him in place as more forces started to converge.
"Well, aren't you a handsome little boy. What could possibly bring someone like you here?" Hexadecimal asked with a intriged look...mask.
Six then spun around and threw one sword that embedded itself in Hexadecimal causing her to let go of Ikki as she screeched in pain. Six charged forward, jumped up onto the strange woman and pulled his sword out as Hexadecimal staggered back.
"Pretty impressive…for a human."
Six and Ikki turned around, watching as a snake like man with an upper humanoid body and a long serpent like tail instead of legs slithering towards them.
"But we won't go down so easily." Copperhead hissed at the pair.
Six twirled both swords in his hands, saying nothing before charging at the mutated villain.

Tiburon and Genki remained back to back as the two psychotic Faunus' charge at them but as Genki was about to swing her blade at her eight legged opponent, Grodd swiped one of his spider legs at Genki, knocking the blade out of her hands as Grodd fired two shots of webbing out of his hands and webbed Genki's sword to the wall. Genki turned back around to face Grodd as she dodged two swipes from Grodd's spider legs.
"Always take whatever advantage you can, I don't want to give you a chance to use your little knife on me." Grodd said as he leaned back on his four spider legs and kicked Genki back causing her to tumble, but she quickly stopped her tumbling and stood back up.
Tiburon turned back only a second to look at Genki's condition, but was stopped as a hand wrapped around the Shark Faunus' throat and lifted him off the ground. It was Pardus in his second Wereleopard form.
"I couldn't agree more!" Pardus said as he tossed Tiburon through the air and Tiburon hit his head on a large pipe on the ceiling before falling to the ground.
BAM!
Tiburon slowly picked himself back up as Pardus walked over to his opponent as he extended his claws from his gauntlets. "Hahaha... Did you hurt your noggin?"
But as Tiburon was growling as he picked himself back up and he charged at Pardus with his chainsaw club still on his back holding up his spiked knuckles as his offensive weapons. Pardus wasted no time as he started slashing at Tiburon getting in several good hits before Tiburon threw his arms up and blocked the rest of Pardus' attacks before pummeling at Pardus with his serrated knuckles creating several major bruises and slashes around Pardus before Pardus swiped at Tiburon who ducked and dodged it before grabbing Pardus' outstretched arm and throwing him against a thick concrete ceiling support, causing the base of it to crack with the sheer force.
SLAM!
Before Pardus could react, Tiburon dashed in and punched Pardus across his leopard humanoid face before grabbing his head, and repeatedly slamming his cranium against the concrete pillar.
SLAM!
SLAM!
SLAM!
SLAM!
SLAM!
"Am I beating some sense into you!?" Tiburon yelled as he kept slamming his foe's head against the pillar.
SLAM!
SLAM!
SLAM!
SLAM!
SLAM!
"RAAAAAA!" Pardus roared as he got out of Tiburon's hold and smacked him across the face before slashing Tiburon across the throat, then grabbing him by the collar and throwing him against a wall.
As Tiburon was leaning against the wall still recovering, Pardus ran up behind Tiburon and grabbed him by his head as he smirked looking over, seeing a power box right there.
"You're in for a real shock fish-boy!" Pardus yelled as he pulled Tiburon back and charged him forward, smashing his head into the power box as it electrocuted him.
KAZAP!
Pardus smiled when Tiburon's body went limp and slowly approached…Then Tiburon's body shot back to life as he pulled his leg back and kicked Pardus back making him tumble on the ground as Tiburon pulled his head out of the power box, with pieces of metal shards sticking out of his face. As Pardus tumbled, he stopped as he plunged his nails into the ground, bringing him to a stop as it made a shrieking sound.
SHRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK!
"GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR..." Pardus growled like a leopard as he pulled his claws back out of the ground standing back up, as he walked back over to Tiburon.
Back with Genki and her opponent, Grodd was standing in the way of Genki's sword that was webbed to the wall. Genki glared at Grodd as the spider Ape smirked and started shooting webbing to try and immobilize his enemy. Genki dashed forward, dodging and ducking her way through the hail of web strings. Grodd's confident expression turned to one of surprise as Genki jumped over her opponent and kicked Grodd in the face to gain some leverage up as she made a flip and dashed over to her sword. However just as she grabbed the handle, a shot of web shot forward and webbed her hand to the handle.
As she looked back she saw that it was Grodd who picked herself back up, walking over to Genki as the Sanban Matriarch tried to pull her hand out of the sticky goop.
"Don't try it lady, that webbing it strong enough to hold back an enraged Goliath..." Grodd as he walked even closer pulling his four arachnid legs forward with the sharpened ends of them making a 'shink' noise.
Grodd used his sharpened spider legs to attack Genki but thanks to Genki's arm guard and her skills in hand-to-hand combat, Genki managed to block and deflect all the spider-Ape's attacks as she moved her head around and dodged the rest before kicking Grodd back as Genki turned back to her hand that was still stuck in the webbing. She groaned and she tried to pull her hand away, but as she looked back, she saw Grodd who already picked herself back up as she charged at her. Genki continued to struggle to get out of the goop to the best of her abilities. But when she looked back, she saw that the ravenous spider Mobin was mere inches away from her with his bladed legs.
Genki immediately moved out of the way of the incoming attack as Grodd's blows unintentionally cut both Genki's hand and sword out of the goop her stuck her in in the first place.
"Uh-oh..." Grodd muttered as Genki clocks him across the jaw sending the psychotic Ape back before Genki was totally free with her sword back in hand.
Grodd looked back worried as Genki noticed this. "What's wrong? You seemed so confident when I was almost defenseless... Why not now?"
"Wha-?! I'm not scared of a little human! The only thing I'm concerned for is my cleaning the blood out of my legs after I slice you to pieces!" Grodd yelled as he charged forward as Genki held her sword up to block Grodd's swipes.
After that, the two went back to fighting with a mix of both hand-to-hand fighting with hitting and blocking with their hands as well as their weapons, and using their weapons as well for their intentional purposes. Grodd started to gain the upper hand for a while with a few successful blows and slashes as Genki started to get sloppy with her blocks and strikes. However that started to turn back around as Genki pulled herself back together fighting back against Grodd, getting in a few more successful slashes and Grodd started to become very dis-coordinated himself as he was elbowed straight in the stomach by Genki as she turned around and crouched. Genki quickly picking herself back up as she grabbed Grodd's arm and turned back around standing back up as she tossed Grodd over her shoulder at a concrete pillar that Grodd crashed against.
SLAM!
Grodd then slid down the concrete pillar on her back as her arachnid legs made the motion of folding when she seemed to pass out. But as Genki cautiously walked over to Grodd with her blade out, ready to strike down her opponent for good... Grodd opens his eyes back up and smiled as an invisible blast knocked Genki back and he immediately tried skewering her with his legs. Genki quickly dodged them as they implanted themselves in the wall behind her. Genki looked back at Grodd with surprise as Grodd simply picked himself back up.
"What-..." Genki mumbled as she was near speechless at the Spider-Ape's ability.
"Neat, huh? I have mental abilities, allowing for telepathy and mind control to dominate the minds of anyone in my sight. I have to say though, you should feel lucky that you were basically one of the only opponents who's ever pushed me this far to actually use it." Grodd said as he unleashed another mental blast at Genki, knocking her back. "How about we see what I can REALLY do with this ability?!"
Just as Grodd unleashed another mental blast Genki, the Sanban grunted from the attack but managed to remain standing as she ducked and spun out of the way. She managed to get behind Grodd as hyper intelligent ape quickly turned around, using his arachnid legs for maneuvering as he unleashed another mental blast but Genki managed to dodge by jumping over him. However neither Genki nor Grodd had any idea that the mental blast would eventually fly straight towards Tiburon as he was fighting with Pardus, crashing into the back of Tiburon's head and causing him to scream in pain.
Genki looked over with slight concern on her face but had no time to check on him as Grodd roared, lashing out with his telepathy and tried to hit his opponent. Genki held her blade in front of her as she readied herself for the oncoming attack.
'This won't be fun...' Genki thought as she yelled while charging into battle, while calling upon her Semblance.
Tiburon stumbled a bit as he stopped fighting, leaving Pardus confused why his opponent stopped fighting. " Huh? What is wrong with you? You can't fight?" Pardus smiled at the end of his sentence.
Tiburon reached behind him as he grabbed the sharp projectiles in his back as he painfully pulled them back out and looked at them, as they slowly dissolved like the corpses of dead Grimm. "Wha... I... Ugh..."
Tiburon was stumbling around as he tried to stand straight on his two feet as Pardus looked at him still smiling. "What's... What's going on..."
"Hehehe... It looks like your head's been scrambled gill boy, I've seen it before... I'll estimate you'll probably have a few minutes before it wears off... That's PLENTY of time I'll have to have fun with you before you die..." Pardus said, cracking his neck as he kicked back the impaired Tiburon and he slid on the floor on his back.
Tiburon attempted to pick himself back up, but he was too weakened by the mental blast as Pardus stood over him with a sadistic grin as he extended his claws from his gauntlet as they became electrified, thanks to an upgrade provided by the Green Goblin... Pardus started to...
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Slash!
Pardus started creating major lacerations all over Tiburon's chest and neck as Tiburon was trying his best to block his enemy's attacks with his forearms. Luckily as Tiburon saw an opening, he pulled back his fist and knocked Pardus off of him as Tiburon, even while disorientated and losing all his strength, slowly picked himself back up grabbing ahold of his chest. He started to stumble and hallucinate as Pardus looked back up at Tiburon.
"You're trying to fight while the effect hasn't worn off!... Hehehe, it won't matter... It's messing up your healing ability, and without any water, in an area like this, your gonna die. If not by stumbling into the mouth of a Behemoth, then by ME!" Pardus yelled as he lunged forward grabbing Tiburon and picking him up by the head as he started to crush his head.
As Tiburon was weakly struggling against his were-leopard opponent, Pardus turned his head and smirked at he tossed Tiburon into a thick concrete pillar, flying right through it.
SMASH!
Tiburon was on the ground bleeding, with several dozen broken bones throughout his body, he tried to pick himself back up, but was pinned back down to the ground as a leopard humanoid foot pinned Tiburon back down to the ground. Tiburon started to groan in immense pain as Pardus foot claws started to dig into his back. Pardus' smile just grew wider and wider as he looked down at Tiburon.
"I don't think you understand kiddo... You're fearsome when you're in the ocean, but when you're on land... You're in MY environment..." Pardus then bent down as his mouth filled with sharp teeth went right next to Tiburon's ear. "... And I'M the apex predator here..."
And without any warning, Pardus stabbed his claws into Tiburon's back and lifted him up off the ground. His claw gauntlets were spearing right through the Huntsman's abdomen as Pardus held Tiburon above his head smiling, starting to have his sick and twisted version of fun as he started electrocuting Pardus with his gauntlets.
ZAP!
CRACKLE!
As Genki kept out of range of Grodd's mental attacks, she looked back to see Pardus was torturing Tiburon while smiling darkly. Genki expressed a very worried look as she quickly turned back to face Grodd.
Genki closed her eyes, seemingly lowering her sword.
"So you have decided to surrender, huh?" Grodd asked as he walked forward. "I don't blame you but unfortunately I have orders not let anyone live. I'll be sure to keep your body so I can study this 'Aura' power of yours."
Grodd then activated his mental powers, trying to take control of Genki's mind…and her eyes flashed open.
"AAAHHH!" Grodd suddenly screamed as his own mental powers backfired on him, yet again.
"You can dominate your foes mentally but what happens when their willpower is greater then your mind power?" Genki asked as she took a step forward. "My Semblance, Braveheart increases my willpower and the willpower of my allies around me while lowering the willpower of my enemies. It gives me the strength to overcome your mind control."
Grodd staggered back, his mind having been hit by his telepathic attack that left him confused and disoriented.
"Even if my mind isn't shielded, true strength comes from the heart and with my Semblance my heart overpowers your mind!" With that Genki changed the Dust slugs on her handle as she quickly pulled her sword out, and with one long twister slash she rapidly sliced through her opponent multiple times with her burning blade.
SLASH!
Grodd was knocked with his fur set on fire and he screamed in pain. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"
Genki calmly opened her eyes back up and stood back up to stare at Grodd who picked himself up as well, glaring hatefully at her. "Hehe... You really think that's it? I'm just getting started lady!"
However Genki wasn't paying any attention as she still looked over Grodd's shoulder to see Pardus holding Tiburon in the air by impaling him through the chest with his claw gauntlets while laughing. Pardus was enjoying himself before he got bored and threw Tiburon back on the ground. Tiburon tried to claw away, but it was no use as Pardus walked over to him and kicked Tiburon to lie on his back as he was facing the ceiling. Pardus once again stood over his defeated opponent as he leaned down to face Tiburon who was near death.
"I gotta say, it was fun smacking you around... But, you've become boring..."
Shink!
Pardus extended the claws on one of his gauntlets as he held it close to Tiburon's throat. "Oh... Don't be so melodramatic... I'll make sure to keep a memento from our little battle together..."
Pardus raised his claws as he was aiming to cut Tiburon's head off. Genki saw this and she started to panic, she started to think of a way to save him. That was when Genki looked over at several tanks of chemicals that were attached to the wall, and then she looked up to see the fire sprinklers above her. She got an idea as she turned around as she slashed at Grodd with her blade, missing as she jumped back and made several back flips over to the canisters of chemicals as Grodd roared and started firing web bullets at the dark haired woman who dodged each bullet with a back flip. As Genki made her way to the chemicals, she stopped and stood there with her arms crossed.
"Can you not even hit the broad side of a mountain?" Genki asked, angering Grodd, causing him to growl.
He picked up a piece of debris and threw it at Genki who jumped out of the way just in time, as the large debris hit the chemical containers causing them to leak green liquid and the fumes from it reach the ceiling, activating the sprinklers as they rain water upon the four combatants. Grodd looked around in confusion for a second, before looking back at Genki with a smirk on her face.
"Water? Do you really think a little water can beat ME?" Grodd asked as he raised his spider legs.
Genki smirked. "No, not really..."
"Wait, what?" Grodd asked confused.
But as the rain fell upon Pardus and the dying Tiburon, Pardus looked up in confusion as he felt the water droplets fall on his head but then smiled as he looked back down as his defeated opponent. "I saw you with the water bottle back on the battlefield... It only heals wounds, and I doubt it can fix your head."
Pardus once again raised his claw gauntlets as he thrust it forward. But instead out the sound of flesh being hacked apart echoed through the room, another sound did...
CLANG!
Pardus looked in shock as he saw his claws crossed with Tiburon's chainsaw club.
Tiburon looked at his opponent furiously with gritted teeth and eyes that were consumed with black like a Great White Shark. "Don't... Touch me... Again..."
Tiburon kicked Pardus in the face making the wereleopard stumble back as Tiburon picked himself back up as the
(Main Theme(The Wolverine) by Marco Beltrami Starts)
Pardus looked back at Tiburon in anger and confusion as the sprinkler water continued to rain over them. "What!? I thought you were braindead! How did you-!?"
"Forgot to tell you, water, can heal everything, Bub..." Tiburon growled, walking closer.
"Well is doesn't matter... Being at you one percent or a hundred percent max, you are still NOTHING TO THE APEX PREDATOR!" Pardus yelled as he slashed at Tiburon several times.
Tiburon blocked the attacks, but was slashed across the face with the last one. Pardus smiled, but his smug smile quickly went away as Tiburon turned back to him with the wound on his face instantly healing up. The two went back to crossing blades as Tiburon become noticeably faster and stronger than before, as he would react faster to Pardus' attacks and get more successful strikes in with his active chainsaw club, creating several dozen nasty lacerations that barely even left Pardus standing on his own two feet. However Pardus didn't give up as his body started to heal up as well. Pardus then lunged out like a leopard at Pardus to pin him to the ground in start mauling him, but while Pardus was in mid-air and with his shark-like teeth, bit down on Pardus' throat and started thrashing him around in the air, making the initial would dozens of times worse as he eventually opened his jaws back up and let Pardus go flying into a wall full of pipes.
CRASH!
However Pardus started to slowly pick himself back up, still healing as he started to let his more feral side take over. As he took off both of his gauntlets and threw them to the ground. He extended his nails as his real claws grew longer, and without any hesitation Pardus roared like a wild animal as he ran on all four limbs at Tiburon, who stood there while holding his chainsaw club in both hands. Pulling it back and ready to swing, right as Pardus was mere inches away from Tiburon while lunging in mid-air... Tiburon swing his chainsaw club as Pardus missed and fell down to the ground in a puddle of water. But as Pardus picked himself back up, he felt nothing. Right then, he easily assumed what he thought.
"Hahaha... Work on your swing fish boy... You missed..." Pardus said, getting back up and looking at Tiburon who stood there smiling as well.
"... I seriously doubt that." Tiburon said, still smiling as Pardus started to feel the rest of his body to make sure that everything was still there.
Everything was fine until he reached the back of his head and felt something squishy...
Back with Genki and Grodd as they were still in the heat of battle, Grodd's legs and Genki's nodachi were locked as they started struggling against each other's forces. Until they both looked beside them to look at Pardus and Tiburon. But when they saw Pardus, they instantly stopped.
"Ew..." Grodd winced in disgust.
Pardus looked back at the two confused as he yelled. "What!? What's wrong!?"
"There's a big hole in the back of your head, nimrod..." Genki answered.
Pardus felt the back of his head yet again to feel his pulsing brain. Pardus instantly turned back to Tiburon furious. Without even saying anything, Pardus lunged at what he through was Tiburon as he started slashing it with his claws.
"Die! Die! Die! Die! DIE!" Pardus yelled as he started slashing away.
"Pardus, that's just a water softener..." Grodd called out and Pardus looked back irritated.
"I AM missing the back of my head; I think you can cut me some slack?" Pardus said as the back of his head started to heal as he turned back to Tiburon.
Pardus just behaved as a wild animal as he lunged forward one last time as he started unleashing a onslaught on stabs and swipes from his claws that Tiburon successfully dodged and blocked most of them, but as Pardus was about to land another strike... Tiburon opened up his mouth and bit the were-leopard's fingers off and spat them out. Pardus did his very best to ignore the pain as he started to swipe away yet again. That turned out to be a major mistake as Tiburon pulled back his chainsaw club once more and swung it, cutting off his opponent's right arm. And then quickly pulled his club back one more as it sliced off Tiburon's left arm as he then stabbed it into Pardus' chest as he lifted him off the ground and into the air, before tossing Pardus aside as the were-leopard fell to the ground.
(Main Theme(The Wolverine) by Marco Beltrami Ends)
Tiburon glared back at his opponent who was lying face first on the ground before putting his chainsaw club back in its holster. Tiburon turned back to Grodd and Genki to see that the two went back to fighting. As the two were crossing blades and trading strikes, it would seem that both of them were mostly a match for one another... Until Grodd started to gain the upper hand as he started to get several successful hits in before he slashed Genki several times with his sharpened arachnid legs, knocking Genki back as she slammed against the wall.
Slam!
Genki looked back up as Grodd was slowly approaching her. "Face it, you're just outmatched..."
Genki saw Tiburon who started to run over. "Stop! This is between me and him!"
Tiburon stopped in his tracks as he put his weapon away and Genki stood back up.
Grodd just continued to smirk at Genki. "You've used up all your tricks! What can you possibly use now?"
"This!"
Just like before, Genki lashed out with her Bravehard, lowering Grodd's willpower as he grunted, trying to fighting against Genki's Semblance. He lashed out but Genki repelled his blast, her willpower pushing back Grodd's telepathy as she shot forward and clocked the Spider-Ape across the face. Before Grodd could retaliate with a blow of his own, Genki focused her Semblance on weakening his will to fight which caused him to react slower as she rained down punches and kicks. Grodd grunted and growled as he punched and kicked all over his body and tried to use his telepathy to overpower Genki's Semblance.
The problem was Grodd relied on his mind and superior intellect to win while Genki's Semblance was powered by her willpower, her heart and her drive to end the battle and return home to her daughters. An old fashioned contest of brain against brawn but Genki's brawn was backed by her cunning and her Semblance increasing her willpower.
But that wasn't it as a contest of mental might as Genki's sword landed several slashes across Grodd before Grodd tried punching it and its owner away.
Grodd was still standing there, but severally hurt as his body was covered in bruises, slashes and singed fur and he didn't have Aura to protect him or help him as recover as fast. He could feel the nanites Van Kleiss injected into him repairing his body but Genki seemed to notice as she then switched the Dust in her blade to electricity and delivered a heavy electrified slash that shocked Grodd's entire body.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" Grodd screamed again and the nanites inside him were frozen from the electric shock.
After weakening her opponent's ability to recover, Genki then uppercut Grodd sending a stream of blood from his mouth flying as he flew back several feet, before hitting the ground. Tiburon had an impressed expression on his face as Genki stepped back and stood there with her nodachi in one of her hands. She walked forward as she approached the knocked out form of Grodd.
"That was... Good." Tiburon simply said
Genki turned to him with a bit of a glare. What do you mean by that?"
"I just mean you were good." Tiburon answered.
"Stating something that's already true." Genki replied.
"Is it wrong for me to complement you?" Tiburon asked.
"When you run into a dangerous situation like that and almost get yourself killed, yes, it is wrong." Genki then walked over to the unconscious Grodd along with Tiburon as they both stood over the body. "Just... Don't get into a brutal battle like that again. It will be, difficult for some people to see you die."
"... Okay then."
