Chapter 27:
"Yes, my lord."
Kai reacted first, jumping up, going for a surprise attack; Aiden countered by soccer-punching him, causing Kai to stumble, but allowing him to wipe the blood from his eyes. "Brother, I know that you're still in there! Say something!" Kai was met with another punch to the face, while Lorne prepared to fire a shot, hoping to merely distract Aiden, but as he fired the bullet, Aiden caught it with his bare hand, and threw it back with equal velocity, hitting Lorne in the shin.
Aiden pulls a combat knife, realizing it would have to be a knife fight; Kai takes his out. The mind-controlled brother strikes first, but Kai steps in and goes for an attack. However, he misses. Aiden was too quick, but distracted. John saw the moment of opportunity and took his stun gun, firing at him. Aiden went down, and Kai took his knife, pointing it at Kinsey. "You are next!"
Kinsey panics, and tries to run, but Brogues grabs him, "Not this time, punk." A sharp sensation goes through Kinsey's back, causing him to go to his knees. Kai, yanks out the knife, "If you wish to be saved, tell us what you did to my brother, now!".
Kinsey chokes it out, "The sarcophagus." And his eyes close, taking him to the one place he deserves to be, Hell.
Turning around, Aiden was gone, not a single trace of evidence where he could have disappeared. "Damn it." Calling it in, an extraction team arrives and begins collecting everything. Jack and Sam show up, hoping to find something, but when Jack sees Sarah, dead on the floor, he freezes. "Oh, Sarah, I am so sorry.".
"Nothing," she says, walking in, Lorne behind her, his shame for not finding his 2IC weighing heavily on his mind. "I'm sorry.".
Brie stood outside, crying, her love missing. Cradling her abdomen, she wished for their child to be inside, but it might never happen, not unless they found him. She desperately needed to see him, hug him, and feel him. To know he was alive. 'Come back to me.'
Somewhere, far away from their location, Aiden sat in a cave, unsure of everything. His master was dead; what now? Where did he go? Should he pursue them or flee? What should he do?
