"A Twins Bond Is Never Meant To Be Broken."
The woman stared down at her lovely children, beautiful girls.
When she looked at the one wearing purple, she saw a bright future in her light but when looking at the one wearing pink, she saw differently.
Maybe she's overreacting, but genuinely, the woman couldn't see a good future within her light.
She couldn't imagine her adapting to a good personality either.
Childbirth was painful, she felt her muscles tighten looser with each passing minute.
But It was worth It.
This woman was strong, to go through the gruesomeness of Childbirth, child labor and end up having it two times all at once
The universe never lets women live.
They looked exactly like her husband, the same burning autumn-brunette hair that has that wavy curve n' curl, the same m
babyblue eyes and his light, almost pale complexity however they had her rosy cheeks
"Come on now, you're putting strain on your body." He urged her to rest, his wife was working even harder once their kids were both born; his wife was "stubborn as a mule" like the people would say.
It frustrates him, it enrages him like no other because she's pushing the one body she'll ever have, the beautiful body that you'd never guess goes to daily headaches daily.
It has her thinking, Is this what hell feels like? No, hell feels worse than this bodily strain.
"Do you have an Idea what putting your body to work does to you after going through Childbirth? You're adding fuel to the fire, Miranda, and It might not be able to be put out." Those words feel familiar.
She remembers now! She remembered.
Her mother and her ex-husband, who could've been her father, were having a fight on a Saturday afternoon when her and her twin sister were only a few months old at the time; time flew by.
He was spewing nonsense at her beloved mother, About how she refused to take it easy after having kids.
It makes her stomach churn badly, why couldn't her mother have just rested? Why did her ex-husband have to be such a soulless, heartless monster of a person?
He makes her mad each time, each thought of him roaming the arenas of her mind gets her gears grinding to the point of plotting murder because she was an easy person to enrage.
It's as she's always known; her and her sister are nothing alike.
It's not that she minds though, she absolutely doesn't. 100%!
It was something out of a fairytale, no, It was something else, far from something as trite and childish as a damn "fairytale" seriously, how in the name of Hades does her sister still believe something so trite and untrue?
They're doing nothing but goading her and filling her head with yes of noble ancestry and heroism.
That's why her and her beloved twin sister...are so different from each other, they differ In every way.
From birth, she was particularly silent. While her sister was already babbling and making some noise while with her, you could barely get a sound out of this twin. It's like, she was selectively mute; or, was she mute by choice? Well, that was a silly thought, I mean, she was an infant.
But truth be told, It was a choice.
"Amane, can you say 'mama' for me?"
Nothing.
Not even a sound, squeak or whimper was heard.
The only thing she received was an eye blink, nothing more.
Amane, was her name, the pink one. The one who was nothing but a slip of a girl, and she has the right to call herself sofia's twin?
Such a title to uphold, such little regard for the feelings of others.
That's how the story was told.
Amane was in her parents basement and found an old cassette tape, back only a few years ago.
"You have to reconsider doing this!"
That voice…mother, It was mother! It was the lady who gave birth to that, that she cherished more than anyone else.
"I have to go, I have no choice. I am a sailor, Miranda! I sail the seven seas and now you're trying to hold me back?!"
Oh, this wretched illegitimate, Good-for-nothing scoundrel was yelling at her mother? He deserves to die.
'Shut your mouth, you vile scoundrel! Only a fool would have the audacity to talk to their significant other like that!' She thought, she wanted her words to reach him but, oh how far they were from present time.
"Birk, the weather Is strong! There's no way team caprute will survive in a heap like..that!" Miranda cries, judging by her tone of voice, her mother has a stern face that also conveys deep worry.
For as long as amane could reminisce, Miranda had always been a person of reason, she was compassionate and didn't speak rudely, she had a stern side to her which was nothing to joke abound about; Amane had that trait but In a more "stretched" way so to say.
But she lacked compassion, she lacked empathy for others and spoke harshly.
Sofia, was nothing like that.
Her sister, she was so compassionate and nice towards everyone, undoubtedly, she had her moments of being like Amane but she didn't mean it..she never meant to hurt someone, but her other half would hurt someone anyday.
Birk, was his name.
Birk Balthazar, an official sailor of the eightnine aisles history of the greatest sailors, captain of the harlem harp-meth steady ship since 1819, Caprute.
However, Why should Amane give a damn about a bastard who treats his wife like she's holding him back from his dream? He got killed off anyway, serves him right.
"Miranda, I want to come home to you and settle down but I have to explore, go beyond the border and when the time Is right; we'll be a nice, humble family."
"You fake-o!" Amane shouted, what a lie.
However, after the death of Birk Balthazar on the day of February 3rd, Miranda, as she could Imagine, was hollow-casted with devastation!
But It wasn't until Miranda, at age 19-21 met Roland Winslow, the son of a prestigious billionaire who had fallen head over heels with her mother, she was only a barista at the time.
Their relationship was slow but steady, some people assumed Miranda was In it for the money, but that wasn't the case! She would never marry someone just for their net worth, she wasn't a golddigger of any kind.
An unexpected truth from her dad was that he was just like Miranda. A few years back, his wife who was Infertile, she had gone under a bad case of bronchitis and unfortunately, she had died; Roland may not make It obvious, but It's apparent he still misses his late wife, Lorelei.
And Miranda, she gave Roland something she couldn't give Birk.
A Family, a close-knit unity Family.
Miranda had given birth to twins, Amber and James. James was only born seven minutes after his sister. 'generational thing..?' Roland had thought, considering he also had an older sister.
Only two years later, Miranda had twins again! It was astonishing, how is it possible to have another set of twins twice? Her body probably was probably just strong enough to go through the same thing again, She doesn't know for sure.
But when she looked at the babies, she felt a disturbance In the air.
Amane was never one to really like being around her family.
Well; except Sofia, she liked being around her, She liked feeling like she had to be a hero for her but be a villain to everyone else.
Her and Amber were alike but they differ drastically.
For Instance, Amber doesn't really feel a 'need' or a 'will' to protect James, which is why Amane hates her.
While the autumn-brunette girl can't exactly feel a will to protect James herself, she should at least feel like she should keep a close eye with the people around him; In her eyes, she is nothing but a blonde, bimbo nit-wit who acts as If her twin is valueless.
But James and Sofia, they are their other halfs.
They are both good-spirited people who wear a constant smile.
Amber smiles on what she's proud of, Amane smiles when she causes mischief.
"Sofia." Amane muttered, gone unheard to her twin. "You and I are nothing alike."
Remembering how Sofia would do the right thing, no matter what; while Amane did the wrong thing no matter what.
That alone makes her stomach churn.
Amane was mean and callous. She had no sympathy to spare.
She was mean, she liked to prank others and be mean purposely.
In short, she was a bully. So why did people care about her? They need to stop caring for someone who doesn't care for them.
It was like no matter what, Sofia would cling to her anyway, she just wants her to go away Already.
"For the sake of someone else, you can exert an infinite heart of gold." Amane continues.
There were times where Amane was ruthless, callous, mean.
"Amane!" Amber shouted in a heap of anger, Amane only played the innocent card once more. "You. ruined. my. new. peplum. top!" She held up her newest top, completely destroyed. "Daddy had just bought me this for my birthday. You. are. mean!" Amber yelled.
"Don't be so dramatic, prissy princess." Amane flaps up the peplum top and throws it into Amber's bedroom furnace, Amber shrieked loudly. "You!"
"Whoopsie!" And an evil laugh followed after, skipping away gayly.
Outside the door skipping down the hallway, Amane was met Face-to-face with her sister who looked very upset. "That wasn't very nice, Amane."
"Why would you do anything like that?"
Amane only laughs maliciously "Because it's fun!" Amane then continues skipping away
Sofia can only sigh in defeat.
Amane was very mean, heartless to say anything.
"I sometimes wish I could reverse time, but I know nobody will actually forgive me for my deeds." Guilt.
"How did you girls do at Mrs. Bodegas art lesson?" Miranda asked, looking down at her younger set of twins.
"We did great, Mama! Amane was berry mean to the kids!" Sofia complained, her sister only laughed. "They deserve it, they are not talented at all, only dumb!"
"Amane!" Miranda cries out "That Is NO way to speak about other kids!"
Miranda didn't know where she went wrong.
She never taught Amane to be mean. It couldn't have been Amber's influence either considering her and her sister aren't exactly the epitome of 'sisterly friendship'
Amane is just mean on her own will.
Thud, Thud.
Heaving, thud after thud
Going frantically fast and furious.
Her blood is pumping, going through her every cell and vein.
It reminds her of...
Him.
Birk, Birk Balthazar.
Her late, deceased husband who loved.
The same husband who she begged to not go sailing but he went anyway, in a heap of a dangerous blizzard.
But Birk never made it alive for her and him to have their family.
Birk was like that, he could be mean and callous, but he would try and provide for his family, he'd go across an unknown border just to make sure Miranda is happy and satisfied.
Yet, he was always stoic, not really kind and hardly ever had a reason to smile or be happy.
"Sofia, I know how harsh I can be."
Flashback to their third birthday, Amane had grabbed a small slice of the cake and plunged it straight into Sofia's face.
"Sofia! Amane!" Roland called out, Sofia crying heavily.
Miranda rushed to go grab some napkins. "Amane, that is no way to treat your sister." Miranda said, taking the clean cloth and wiping the cake off of Sofia's beautiful, delicate face.
"It's okay, Sof!" James rushed to his teary-eyed sisters wake.
"I have no reason to be the way that I am, Sofia." Amane wrote.
"Look, a blue jay!" The seven-year-old girl rushed up to the small, barely applicably stable branch. The blue bird rested it's fingers on her, Sofia took it into her hands. "So cute!" She nuzzles the bird.
Amane threw one more stepping stone across the small rain puddle before turning her head where her sister was just a few miles away from her. "What's so special about some blude bird, Sofia?" Amane asked harshly, uninterested.
"Alot, sis!" Sofia says. "For example, did you know that their original name was actually Cyanocitta cristata? "Cyan" because they are blue!" Sofia chirped, her smile pure.
That smile.
The smile that helped others.
The smile that made Amane want to vomit each time.
That smile is now all she wants to see in his world, even in death.
"Whatever, Sofie! I wanna go see a fire!" And then she left Sofia to her keen animal interests.
"Deep down, there was a reason I hated that smile of yours."
"Because I couldn't bring myself to smile for something good, when something good happens, It makes me want to hurl in my mouth each time."
"Why is that? Why can't I find any place in my heart to be a good person like you?" She asked herself.
Sardonic, mean, callous, strong-willed, Sharp-tongued and a bad person in general.
"But Sofia, I want you to remember."
"Ama!" Sofia called out, her hair In pigtails. "Ugh, what do you want, Sofie?" Amane said, looking unamused.
"Mama and Papa are about to plan our party, James and Amber are also!"
"Yeah?"
"Papa said I should be generous, so, I got you this!" Sofia cheered happily, reaching down behind her dress and pulling out a heart-beaded bracelet, it was pink, Amanes favorite color.
Amane scowled. "What's that?"
"Bracelet, it means we're gonna stay together forever! Because you're my other half." Sofia chirped.
Those words, Amane never forget them.
At first, they made her want to barf each time. It's gross, love is gross.
But deep down, Amane loved and cherished that damn bracelet every single day ever since their sixth birthday. Amane had it in a small treasure box; she thought it was because she'd give it away Anyway but she didn't.
"No matter how virtuous a life you may lead, nether will the gods save you." Amane said.
It was nighttime at the mansion, Amane and Sofia were sitting in their room, by the window sill. "Amane?" Sofia looked up at her identical twin whilst she was punching a wooden dummy and cackling like a maniac. "Yeaah?" She answered.
"How are you going with zander?" Sofia asked.
Her twin only laughed. "Ha! That Indian is a loser, I don't know how or why he and hildegard like to tease each other. He's so stupid!" She muttered insults at the boy.
Her sister really had no problem speaking her mind.
"Shamelessly speaking your mind again, I wish I could be more like you Ama, I always hesitate when wanting to speak my feelings..and sometimes Ruby and Jade would blow up at me; well, mostly jade." She chuckled.
"Your dumb friends are impossible! Friends are such a waste of time and oxygen, no wonder they have dog manure for brains!" Amane laughed like a taunting bully.
Technically, she is a bully though.
"Don't say that."
Amane punches and kicks the dummy again.
"Oh, Amane you're so cool. I would be so sad if you were to leave my side!" Sofia complimented her sister.
"Sofia..." The words splattered on the line.
"Well, I wouldn't care! Tsk. But if anyone tries to kill you, they better know that we're the younger set of Winslow twins!" Amane stood high on her own pride.
A silence filled the room, Sofia had her head tilted down.
"Don't leave me hanging here, Sofia."
"Oh, Amane!" That feeling.
The feeling that made her stomach churn, her heart hated it but at the same time, her heart craved it.
Amane was wrapped around an embrace of her twin sisters warmth, a hug of love.
"Never leave my side!" Sofia said.
To her own surprise, Amane hugged her.
Her beloved twin sister who had messed with her for years had finally hugged her.
She now remembers.
She was mean, because Sofia was nice.
She messed with Sofia because she felt like she had to be a mean and callous person because being compassionate was one more thing the blessed and chosen are to do.
She needed to protect Sofia, being mean was the way.
Amane was tough, nobody was to cross her.
Being mean, callous and a bad person...was a result of a passionate will and motive to protect her twin.
"Sofia."
"You'll never leave me, will you, ama?"
She was stunned, thunderstruck. leave her? Amane didn't care, she didn't care one single bit.
…Did she?
She wanted to push sofia off, throttle her to the ground and tell her to stop being so clingy.
But…
She didn't.
Why? why isn't she telling her off as she would normally do? what the hell is happening to her?!
"Never." She said the last word.
"You...are one of the chosen ones!. Amane confessed.
She added her period.
The End -
