This chapter has references to the Chalice of the Gods, so if you haven't read it you may be a bit confused by some of the things mentioned.

Perseus Jackson.

The man frowned as he reread the file, gaining no new information than he already knew; the man called in his assistant.

On his first day at new Rome University, Percy was eating a blue donut for lunch. This was Percy's first official day as a student. So far, he was bored out of his mind; the professor presenting the class was a rather dull old man and had reminded Percy, the first time he saw him, of the god of old age, Geras. And Percy would rather forget about the whole hug fest he had with Geras to get the Chalice for Ganymede.

After his quest, he had managed to get the other two recommendation letters, luckily without missing too much school, and he was only flushed once more by Eudora. Now, having avoided yet another quest-related encounter with Apollo, he was finally enrolled at New Rome with Annabeth.

He had planned to visit his mom on her birthday. He and Annabeth had planned to leave for their apartment right after they finished class, but of course nothing went according to plan.

Watching and following the two teens walking towards an unknown destination, was a team of elite heroes. Correction: A team of confused and conflicted elite heroes. None of them were too impressed with the idea of stalking and then capturing a nineteen-year-old guy who, as far as they had seen, was harmless.

Natasha and Clint were following the two, while the rest of the team was back in the Quinjet, where they were on standby as backup.

The target was a 19-year-old boy who was supposedly dangerous, but so far all the team had seen was the boy and his girlfriend stopping for a drink at a cafe and wandering around.

Eventually the two teens reached an apartment building and entered. For the next five hours, the Avengers waited outside. At last, Tony called to let them know that the apartment was the boy's mother's home, and that he and his girlfriend would be staying there for the night.
