Barnes sees the desperate Afghan refugees. Many parents are begging to have their children taken to America. Most don't have relatives in America, but even an American foster home would be better than Afghanistan if the Taliban retakes control. Barnes orders his marines to pick a few children for each helicopter. It won't be easy, but at least they can give a few children a better life, and maybe deprive the Taliban of a few soldiers.

Eve and Georgia are driving towards CTU, obeying all speed limits and traffic stops. No need to draw unwanted attention to themselves, not when they have so many explosives in their car.

.

In the White House bunker Mackensie Allen talks with acting president Keaton.

.

Allen: You've done a good job as president.

Keaton: Thank you mr president. But we're not out of the woods yet.

Allen: I realize that. The number of dead from the bombing in Virginia is 405, and that might still rise. Still, Suvarov and Zelensky are willing to negotiate, the evacuation from Afghanistan will be complete on schedule. These are wins.

Keaton: I wouldn't mind taking a little bit of the credit, but I could not have done any of this without our soldiers, and CTU. Do you think you'll be able to resume your duties soon?

Allen: Probably within a few days. I will always mourn for Horace, but I have to move on. I was always an athiest, but now I find myself actually praying for his soul.

Keaton: There are no athiests in foxholes, at least in my experience.

.

During this conversation presidents Allen and Keaton are informed of another development. It is not directly connected to the bombers, but no less important.

.

At the hospital one of the nurses comes to give Nicole some good news. It seems that Eric Carter will survive his injuries. Nicole is grateful, and hopes Eric will accept a medical discharge from CTU.

.

At CTU Jack and Tony continue to try and question Adam, but he refuses to give anything. He truley believes in his twisted interpretation of holy scripture, and he thinks that teaching his daughter to become a martyr is what's best for her. Than a thought occurs to Jack, and he talks with George Mason.

.

Jack: The bombers are coming here?

Mason: He told you that?

Jack: Not directly, but he wants his daughter to get to Heaven, and I'm guessing she feels the same way. She wants to blow her daughter up and take them both to Heaven. I know it's just a hunch, but it's the best lead we have right now.

Mason: You're right, it is the best we have right now.
