CTU is ecstatic upon hearing that the last two homicide bombers are dead. Reverand Adam is far less thrilled, his daughter is dead, and he will now stand trial for all the people he's murdered. Ryan Chapelle is led away in handcuffs. Many CTU people have to resist the urge to spit on him. George Mason just smiles, knowing that Chapelle will spend the rest of his life in prison. He might have escaped the death penalty, but he might soon wish he hadn't. Mason then addresses his staff.
.
Mason: President Keaton wanted me to thank all of you for the good work you've done in the last 24 hours. A lot of lives were saved because of our actions, the president, and myself, are very proud of you.
.
In the White House bunker president Keaton and the others are also celebrating. The last twelve bombers had failed, Russia and Ukraine would be coming to Camp David, and the evacuation of Afghanistan would be complete in the next ten minutes. As good an outcome as could be expected today. Speaker Templeton is writing his letter of resignation, while president Keaton is preparing to address the nation.

Barnes walks out of his office for the last time. Not much to take with him, all the classifieds have been destroyed, only a few souvenirs that fit into his duffle bag. The last helicopter pilot is landing now. All the staff have already been evacuated, and Barnes is taking a few children with him. In a few days this building will likely be overrun with be overrun with people looking for whatever souvenirs they can sell, but that's not his problem anymore. Barnes takes one last look around, and then goes to the helicopter.

Jack Bauer goes to his car and calls Kim.
.
Kim: Everything okay dad?
Jack: Yeah, it's over. The threat is over, at least for now.
Kim: That's good. And Jamal is going to be okay too.
Jack: That's a relief. I'm coming to the hospital. Tony's coming too.
Kim: That's cool, he's family. Jamal's mother is here.
Jack: This might be a good time for you two to reconcile.
Kim: We've agreed not to fight, at least for now.
Jack: That's a good start.
.
As Jack and Tony drove towards the hospital they turned on the car radio. President Keaton is about to address the nation. It's from the Oval Office.
.
Keaton: My fellow Americans. We have been through a lot these last 24 hours. Terrorists murdered American soldiers, and their families, just as they were returning home. There was an attack against our president in this White House, another against our embassy in Afghanistan. But I am pleased to say that the terrorists objective has failed. They have not goaded us into reckless aggression. The evacuation from Afghanistan will be complete in a matter of minutes. Presidents Zelensky and Suvarov have agreed to come to Camp David for peace negotiations. And the last homicide bombers have failed. Most of the terrorists involved in this plot are either dead or in custody. The rest will be tracked down and apprehended.
.
Split screens show Jack and Tony driving towards the hospital, Kim and Mary praying together, president Keaton addressing the nation while Mackensie Allen watches with pride, Mason congragulating his staff and taking a little credit himself, and Barnes preparing to get on the helicopter in Kabul.
.
In Kabul Barnes loads the last children onboard. Then he takes one last look around this clear night.
.
Pilot: Are you ready sir?
Barnes: Everything's secure?
Pilot: Yes sir. We really should leave, it's less than two minutes to midnight.
Barnes: Yeah, it's time.
.
Barnes gets on the helicopter and it begins taking off. Barnes takes in this last view of Afghanistan from the sky. It actually looks beautiful at night, almost peaceful. He can only hope that it stays so for awhile. He can hope anyway.
