Chapter 3

"Wait, back up," Frost growled, standing up. "The prophecy is fake?!"

"Unfortunately, yes." Sunny said.

"And I have been gone for a year?" Frost asked, looking at Clay.

Clay nodded.

"I'm going to slit Morrowseer's throat when I see him!" She roared.

Tsunami laughed. "You really haven't changed. Too bad you won't get the chance."

"Wish I could though." Frost sneered.

"MAKE WAY, MAKE WAY!!!" A voice yelled from the hallway. A nightwing walked into the Healing Center.

"Deathbringer?" Frost said, surprised.

"Ah Frost, we meet again." He said, bowing low with a smirk.

"I thought Glory would have killed you by now." Frost said with a smirk.

"And I will." Glory said, walking into the room with a grin. "Glad to see you in one piece."

"Glad to be in one piece." Frost chuckled.

"Now, where, in three moons, did you go?!" Glory cried out, lashing her tail. "I was worried sick about you!"

"Yeah, it's now time for your long story." Tsunami smirked.

Frost chuckled then looked down. "I left to find my mother."

The dragonets went silent.

"And? Did you find her?" Tsunami asked.

Frost slowly shook her head. "My mother died before I was born."

Sunny let out a small sad sniff, all the dragonets looking down. Even Starflight.

"Oh… Shellfish Breath!" Tsunami roared.

"Tsunami!" Sunny yelled, giving her a disapproving glare.

Frost let out a laugh, clutching her injured side. "Ow."

"Ok, we should leave you to rest." Starflight chuckled.

"I guess." Frost said, wincing. She looked up at them. "I've missed you guys." She said, softly.

"Don't get soft on us now." Tsunami grinned.

Frost nudged Tsunami with her wing. "I mean it."

"Get some rest." Starflight said, walking out of the room. Everyone followed but Clay stopped.

"Why were you gone so long?" He asked.

Frost looked down. "I don't fully understand it either. I thought I was gone for a day, not a year."

Clay nodded. "Now, you better listen to Starflight. Get some rest."

Frost chuckled as Clay walked out. She walked over to her bed and laid in it.

Not long after, she heard a voice.

"Moon?" A masculine voice asked.

Frost opened her uncovered eye. The room was dark and no one was in there.

"Moon?"

"Whoever it is, they're looking for Moon." She thought.

"Yes, I am. And, obviously, you are not her." The male voice responded.

"Wait, you can hear me?" Frost questioned.

"Some of you. I see nothing about you. I only see what you let me see."

"So, you don't know who I am?" She asked.

"No, not really. Should I be worried?" He asked with a smirk.

"Are you.. flirting with me?" She nearly snarled.

"No, no, I'm just, cunning." He said, cunningly.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"Oh how rude of me, we were never properly introduced."

She could tell by his voice that he was grinning.

"Before I tell you my name, why don't you tell me yours?"

"That's a bit rude. I could tell you a fake name and you could believe it. Or maybe you could give me a fake name and I would never know." She said, frowning.

He chuckled. "I could, but we are reading each other's minds. And if you might recall, I can't read anything you don't give me."

"How do I know you're not lying?"

"Think of a number, any number."

She thought of a number.

"Are you thinking of the number… 6?"

"No." She responded.

"Hmm, 4?"

"No." She yawned.

"Aha, I got it. You're thinking of the number 7."

"Wrong again." She said, holding back a grin.

"Then what is it?"

"Zero." She replied.

The voice chuckled. "You got me there." He paused before answering. "Do you believe me?"

Frost thought for a moment, making sure he couldn't hear.

"Hello? Are you still there?"

"Yes," She thought, "I'm still here." She paused for a second before responding. "My name is Frost."

"Hm, odd name for a Nightwing.." he sniffed.

A Nightwing.

A nightwing thought she was another Nightwing.

She nearly responded back, saying she wasn't a Nightwing, but she said nothing.

She could let it be a mystery for this anonymous Nightwing.

"Now, what's your name?" She asked, eager.

The nightwing chuckled. "Are you ready?"

"Tell me." She said, annoyed.

The voice let out an amused sigh. "Darkstalker. My name is Darkstalker."
