After their last fight with the Angler Fish Siren, Triton stormed out of the room. He felt his heart drop with what the siren showed him. The citizens topside of the island grew anxious with word going around that a monster is hiding amongst the population. And to make matters worse, the mayor knows that Shantae was joining forces with a hybrid. It doesn't take long for Triton to put the pieces together to know that the people would suddenly figure out that he is not what they seem.

Triton just kept moving, swiftly running past Harmony who was waiting for them. Harmony was surprised. "Triton, what's wrong?" She asked. Triton didn't respond and just kept moving.

Harmony turns to Shantae who follows after him. "Shantae, what's going on?"

"I don't know," replied Shantae. "That's what I'm trying to find out." She continues to follow Triton. Harmony stays behind and holds onto a small book close to her chest.

Shantae continued chasing Triton, and Triton kept moving through the tunnels. "Triton, stop!" She cried. But Triton did not respond, nor listen. He just kept moving.

Their chase continued through the tunnels until they reached a cave with dripping stalactites. As the water droplets hit the siren hybrid, he starts to show his siren skin at the half genie.

"Triton, where are you going?" Shantae asked.

Triton broke his silence. "Back where I call home," he whimpered.

"Triton what's wrong?!" Shantae cried.

"You!" He finally shouted. "It's you!" He turns around and faces Shantae. The two stood with fear and sadness in their eyes. "I saw what that siren showed me. You told the mayor about me, and now the topsiders are afraid!"

"Triton," said Shantae. "I only told the mayor, because I thought I could give you credit for helping me save my friends."

"So?!" Triton asked. "I'm not ready for this! This is why I kept to myself the whole time I was topside. I didn't want anyone to know what I was because I didn't know what I was myself. But now I do, and if they know, I won't be seen the same again."

Shantae was stunned with Triton's lash. "What are you trying to say?"

Triton closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He showed his fish skinned hands to the half genie. "I'm half-siren!" Was all he said.

Shantae was now surprised, "You're what?!"

Triton nodded, "Yeah that's right. It all makes sense. The skin changing, the coral armor, the singing, the laser eyes, the sonic screeches, everything! I'm half-siren, which means we're supposed to be enemies."

Shantae started to cry a little bit. "That's not how it works," she said. "I don't care if you're a half-siren."

"But what about everyone else?" Triton asked. "Did you stop to wonder what everyone else would think about me?"

"I do," replied Shantae. "But only if we face the world together."

"I saw their faces," said Triton. "They showed fear. And in that fear, there is also hatred. I go out hunting for food, they get scared, they attack me. There were times when I wanted them to attack me. I'm just tired of them being afraid of me. That's why I stay away from everyone. Because this is how things are. How things will be. I was so stupid to think that things would change."

"What if we could lay them down gently," said Shantae. "Slow things up a bit, show them who you really are. We just have to try."

"We already tried, okay?" Triton cried. "But it's always the same. Topside and bottom. Oil and water. That's all people know in this world."

Shantae didn't want to give up on her hybrid friend. She knew what it was like to be different from everyone else. "What about us?" She asked.

Triton turned away from the half genie. As much as he wanted to see more of the world topside, he was still scared of what the world would think of him. And the fact that he's half-siren made him reflect on how dangerous he is. Then, he turned his head slightly back to say something.

"Oil and water," he said in a sad tone. "It never works out."

Shantae started to cry. "You're just saying that," she said.

Triton throws an apple core away. The same apple core Shantae gave him long ago. The core rolls to her feet and she looks down at it.

"Do yourself a favor, Tailwhip," said Triton. "Go find your zombie friend, stop the other sirens, and…" Triton chokes up not wanting to say anything more. But he looks away from Shantae and says, "Forget me."

And with that, Triton walks into the dark abyss of the caves, leaving Shantae alone crying. But Triton cried as he kept walking away from the only friend he's ever made. Harmony catches up with Shantae and places an arm on her shoulder.

Meanwhile, the Empress Siren rested easily on her throne grinning with delight. Then a small octopus crawls out of a small hole and crawls its way on the Empress' hand. She wakes up and places the small squid close to her ear.

The siren grins as the squid whispered in her ear. "Excellent," she said. "Pass this message to your mistress. Tell her: When he gets close enough, lure him and I'll handle the rest." The squid crawls off and climbs back into the small hole. "Soon Triton, soon."

Triton never spoke another word to anyone. He kept passing sea creatures who kept trying to hit him or attempted to hit him. But Triton didn't fight back because he was too sad to do so. He didn't even give off a sonic screech.

Back in his old cavern home, Triton was covered in scratches and bruises. He looked around to see all the fish bones and the pebbles he left behind. He looks to his glass domed window to see the fish swimming in a school, only for a shark to come by and cause them to be scared. Triton saw this and turned away from the thoughts of that happening to him.

Back on the surface, Shantae felt depressed with the departure of her hybrid friend Triton. She and Harmony returned to Arena Town to find Bolo, Sky, and Mimic waiting for them. They were pleased that she brought Harmony back, but their smiles dropped when they saw her sad.

"Shantae, what's wrong?" Bolo asked. "And where's Triton?"

Shantae was upset, but she was able to explain. "I guess I broke his trust," she started. "I told the mayor he was helping us. And then he just ran off."

"Any idea where the lad went?" Mimic asked.

Shantae just shook her head. "No idea," she said.

"He keeps to himself because he's scared," siad Harmony.

"Why is he scared?" Sky asked. "Why wouldn't he trust us?"

"Because he's been on his own for most of his life," replied Harmony. "And in that amount of time, it can be really hard to trust anyone you don't know. Especially since… his mom."

"How do you know his mom?" Shantae asked.

"I didn't," replied Harmony. She reveals her small book to the group. "But someone else did."

Back in the caves below the town, Triton went out looking for food on his usual routine. He takes a couple of clams and cracks open their shells and collects their meat. Along the way back, a couple of crab creatures came out scuttling for food as well.

Upon closer inspection, he recognized the crabs as the ones he encountered before he met Shantae. The two crabs at first looked frightened at Triton. But looking down on his meat, Triton decided to give it to them out of compassion. "For your troubles," he said. "And I'm sorry." The crabs snatch the meat and scuttle home.

Triton smiled at the good deed he committed, then looked down at what he told Shantae. 'I'm just tired of being afraid of me.' Triton started having an emotional breakdown as he went to his wall and pounded lightly than he usually did when he was angry. But this time, he wasn't angry. He was sad. Sad with the fact that he pushed away the only friend he could ever have.

Then, he heard a small noise. He quickly turns around and sees a small creature. A female humanoid creature with light purple hair, fins for ears and a lobster tail from the waist down. She was a siren, just like Triton. She waved hello and Triton was stunned.

"Who are you?" he asked. The small creature gestured him to come closer and whispered in his ear.

"You're one of the seven sirens?" he asked. The siren nodded quickly and offered her hand. "I'm not so sure," he said. "The last few sirens I faced tried to kill me." The siren nodded slowly with a sad face.

"But, you…" he continued. "You're different. What do you want to show me?" Triton takes her hand and the two venture out of Triton's cave.

The lobster siren led Triton to a flooded passageway, and the two jumped in. During the swim, the passage led him outside of the hidden city. It was the first time Triton entered in open waters. He and the lobster siren swam close to the bottom of the ocean floor to avoid getting lost visually from above.

They swam through kelp forests, coral reefs, and dark trenches, until they reached the other side of the underground city. The two pop out from another passageway leading into the city and the lobster siren shows Triton another mural.

The mural depicts what looked like two giant sirens under what looked like a flying ship. Then the mural continued as the lobster siren pointed to another mural and another. The mural depicts the ship dominating all life with what looked like soundwaves. Under the control of the sirens, they worshiped the creatures from the skies and seas. The sirens were unstoppable.

Then, another mural depicts what looked like a genie defying the sirens and battling one of the giant sirens. The next mural showed the genie dancing and the siren singing, showing a symbol of friendship. The next thing they know, they learned that their differences made them more powerful, and that kind of power was shared with the world. But five sirens didn't like that. Including the other giant siren. So the two giant sirens fought, causing a powerful storm across the island.

And the next mural shows how the battle ended. The giant siren and the genie combined their powers. The giant siren betrayed her people, sinking the ship and burying it within the genie's island itself. The siren who betrayed them tried to appease her kind one last time. But most of them refused, except for one, who was two shy and hid behind the other five.

The eighth siren stood by her genie friend and one last fight occurred. The genie fought the giant siren until the genie fell. The eighth siren fought the rest of her people and won. But just as her genie friend was about to be struck down, she gave up her giant form and gave her the remaining strength to remove the giant siren's physical form.

Despite winning the fight, the genie was slain, and the eighth siren wailed in despair. Without her friend, and knowing she betrayed her kind, the eighth siren locked them in their vessel. And deactivated their ship for good by using a handprint scanner.

The final mural depicts the eighth siren spending the rest of her days singing off the coast topside. In hopes that a new friend would show up. Triton smiled, knowing what happens next with the eighth siren's story. That story led her to being a mother.

"I don't believe it," he said to the siren. "You're telling me. That the sunken city… all of this… is the siren's ship?" The lobster siren nodded in response.

"And this siren," said Triton. "You know who she is?" The siren nodded again. She pointed to the siren on the mural, then pointed to his hand.

Then she whispered, "You're my friend's son."

Triton looked back to the mural where it showed his mother and the genie working together. Triton smiled with tears coming out of his eyes. If his mom, a siren, could work well with a genie. Then maybe a half-siren could work just as well as with a half-genie.

"The sirens are after the power of the half genies," said Triton. "How can I stop them?"

The lobster siren points to the bottom of the map, which shows another batch of tunnels that honeycomb another section of the siren's ship. She whispers in his ear again, "That is where you can reactivate the ship's engines and send it away from the island. The only person who ever did that was your mother."

"And you're saying I'm the only one who can open the doors leading to the tunnels?" Triton asked. The lobster siren nodded. Triton looks back at the mural and finds an image that looks like a power rod next to a hand.

"Looks to me that my hand print is half of the procedure," he said. "I'm gonna need some help."

Just then, he feels a tremble of quakes shake up the room. Rocks began to crumble and fall from the ceiling. Triton shielded the lobster siren and smiled at what he's done. "Do anything you can to help me and my friends," he said. "I've got a generator to restart."

He jumps back in the water and swims to the bottom of the ocean. He peeks through a glass dome from a tunnel he hasn't explored yet. He uses his sonic screech to open the window and cause the room he entered to flood the chambers. Luckily, there were watertight doors and Triton turned the valves to seal off the room.

He continues his quest and comes across what looks like a circular monitor in a dark cave. "This is the first time I've seen one of these," he said. He adjusts his vision and finds a circular slot next to the keypad. "If this rod can power up the monitors," said Triton. "Then where does my handprint come in?"

Then, out of nowhere, the monitor started to boot up. And the lights started to turn on around the cave. Triton covered his eyes for a moment and looked at the monitor. The screen was covered in static, but the audio was working well enough. He touched the monitor and a spark of electricity came from his hands. Causing a powerful hum to be heard in the cave.

"Looks like some of the power is restored," he said.

"Hello? Anyone there?" asked a familiar voice.

"Mimic, is that you?" Triton asked.

"Triton!" Mimic cheered. "I got Triton on the line everyone!"

"Triton, thank goodness," said Bolo. "We were getting worried."

"You owe Shantae an explanation for leaving her like that!" said Sky in an angry voice.

"I know, and I am sorry," said Triton. "Listen, there's something going on."

"We know," said Mimic. "A strange machine just rose up from the ground and almost knocked me off my feet." He takes a closer look at the machine. "Seems to be connected to the city below."

"Does it look like a circular monitor?" Triton asked. "And are you using it to communicate with me?"

"Yes, exactly," replied Mimic. "Did you turn it on?"

"I think so," said Triton. "But it just turned on by itself. And I somehow caused the monitors to run at full strength. Where's Shantae?"

"Shantae is still in the tunnels, looking for the last half genie," replied Mimic.

"Well I hate to break it to you," said Triton. "But she's not a half genie. didn't Shantae tell you?"

"No," said Sky. "Who is it she's rescuing?"

"Someone named Rottytops," said Triton. "You guys know her."

"Unfortunately," Sky said blandly.

"And that's not all," said Triton. "The sunken city is not a sunken city at all. It's a ship."

"WHAT!?" cried the group.

"It's true," said Triton. "I saw a mural depicting the entire city. The tunnels were ship corridors. It all makes sense, the boilers, the flowers, the engineering, the turbines, they all scream 'it's a ship! If Shantae's going down to rescue Rottytops, she's going to need help. I'll see if I can meet up with her in the next batch of corridors. In the city's lowest point. Wish me luck."

"Good luck," said Mimic.

"Please bring Shantae back," said Sky. "Just don't tell her I was worried."

Later on, Triton makes his way down to the lowest part of the city. On the ground below is a hatch that leads to the last batch of corridors. But that's not all that was down there, there was also a handprint scanner and what looked like a ghost dog.

"Excuse me," said Triton. "I have to open this door." Before he could approach the hand print, the ghost dog spoke.

"That won't be possible," it said. "That handprint can only be activated by one of the Empress Sister Sirens. Even with the power of the ship restored, there's no way to open the door."

Triton stood with surprise, 'Empress Sisters?' He thought. He looked at his hand and just smiled. "What about the offspring of the Empress Sister?" He asked. He places his hand on the scanner and the door automatically opens.

The ghost dog gasped. "How is this possible?" It asked.

"Let's just say, my mother was a siren," he replied.

The ghost was more shocked that it changed form into a female ghost. Triton was amazed by its appearance. "Guess we're both full of surprises," he said.

The ghost loomed over Triton and gazed into his eyes out of curiosity. And soon she smiled with tears in her eyes. "You are Serena's son," she said. "My best friend."

"And you're that genie from the murals," said Triton. "Let's cut to the chase, I need to stop the sirens. And finish the fight the Empress started."

The ghost smiled and nodded, "Of course, but I'm not so sure you can do this alone. There are more sirens than you think they are down there."

"That's why I'm going to depend on my half genie friend to follow me down there," said Triton. He jumps down the tunnel and makes his way to the entrance of the last section of the underground ship.

But before he could go any further, Sky's parrot Wrench flys in and pecks on Triton's head. "Gah! Wrench!" He cried. "Everytime. You blasted bird."

"Hey Triton, is that you?"

Triton turns to hear Bolo's voice and rushes over to where the voice was. There, he finds Bolo, Sky, and the scientists from the sub.

"Sky, Bolo," he said. "What are you all doing down here?"

"Don't ask me," replied Bolo.

"I can explain," said the goggle scientist. "Mimic requested that we bring her niece's friends with us. They have a very important mission."

"Whatever you and Shantae did," said the scientist with suspenders. "It reactivated the Power Core beneath this island. It will soon heat up to dangerous levels."

"Wait," said Triton. "You're telling me that my actions caused the island to overheat?"

"Exactly," said the third scientist. "And if left unchecked, the power core is going to build up heat, until it explodes the island."

"So to put it in basic terms," said Sky. "You and Shantae are racing against the clock. And don't get me started on Rottytops. I'm sure this is all her fault somehow."

"Is Rottytops one of those people not everyone likes?" Triton asked.

Sky nodded, "Just follow us and hurry."

Sky and Bolo race to the cave's entrance leaving Triton and the scientists alone.

"Did you guys tell them about my special condition?" He asked.

"Nope," said the goggles scientist. "If you want to show the world, let it be on your own terms."

"Besides," said the suspenders scientist. "You were about to save that girl's life and put her before your needs. I'm not sure what kind of creature you are, but you are good at heart. Now go, your new friends need you."

Triton follows Bolo and Sky into the passageway leading to the Squid Pit. The three reach the monitor and Sky informs Triton what comes next.

"Listen, there's not much time," she said. "According to Mimic, when the power core reaches its max capacity the release valve needs to be opened. That way the energy can flow out into the rest of the city. If the valve isn't opened by the time the core goes critical…"

"KA-BLOOEY!" Bolo cried.

"So you and Shantae need to find that switch," said Sky. "Until she catches up, it's all up to you, Triton. So find the switch, grab Rotty, and get out. Got it?"

Triton nodded and stood ready at the closed door. "Bolo and I will stay here and regulate the energy flows."

Triton took a deep breath and faced the door. "Ready," he said.

Sky flips the switch and the door opens, causing an alarm to go off. Triton bolts through the door as he races for his life. But not only his life, everyone else that was living on the island.

He rushed down a chasm where the release valve is located. He discovers the switch to open the door. He looks to his hand that starts sparking electricity and smiles. He takes his hand, concentrates on his energy flow, and activates the power generator to open the release valve.

"I'm the key," he said to himself.

He continues down the tunnels and then out of nowhere, the doors slam shut behind him. He turns to the door, then slowly turns around waiting for something to ambush him. But all he could do was sniff a familiar smell; gunpowder.

Just then, a familiar pirate captain comes landing in the middle of the room, Risky Boots. "I knew you'd come," she said. "But I was planning on you and that half genie brat being together."

"Guess I figured out what the treasure is, and what you wanted from this island," said Triton. "The ship itself."

"Ooh," smirked Risky. "You are quite the clever little being."

"But it doesn't matter anyway," said Triton. "At first I had no quarrel with you and your men. But now, the treasure you're after is my business. And I will stop you."

"You're never going to stop me," said Risky. "Not when I'm this close!" She draws her sword and points directly to Triton. "This is my final warning. Stay out of my way! Soon my men will complete their repairs. And the power of this city will belong to me! Me! Risky Boots, the Queen of the Seven Seas!"

"You think too highly of yourself," said Triton. He gets in a battle stance and clenches his fists. "I'm gonna take this ship, so I can sink it to the bottom of the ocean!"

Risky jumps in the air and fires her flintlock pistol at the hybrid. Triton dodges her shots in the nick of time and jumps up to punch her square in the face. Risky gets up on her feet and draws her sword to slash him. But as she makes an impact on Triton, she sees the arms turned into coral armor right in front of her.

"So it is you," she said. "You're the monster people were looking for."

Triton swipe kicked Risky, causing her to fall on her side and Triton to topple on the purple pirate. "Good luck trying to turn me in to the mayor," he said. "I'll resist every step of the way."

This made Risky Boots laugh, "Ho ho ho! You think the mayor wants you locked up?" she asked. "Someone else paid a higher price for your capture."

Just then, a horde of tinkerbats came rushing through the hole where Risky came in, and started grabbing Triton anywhere they could. Triton tried to fight them off, but the horde was overwhelming him like a ton of bricks. They looped him with ropes, they scratched his legs, it became too much for Triton to bear.

As Triton laid helplessly to the ground, a tinkerbat went with a rag in his hand to try to silence the hybrid. And that gave Triton an idea. With an ounce of strength, he took a deep breath, huffed and puffed, and with a high pitched screech, a sonic boom quaked the room.

The tinkerbats and Risky were all pushed back by the boom. Some of them even got stuck in the walls. Triton got back up, trying to get rid of all the ropes the tinkerbats tied him with. He felt so tired trying to fend off Risky's army.

Then, an octopus tentacle came down and smacked Triton upside the head, knocking him out. He fell to the ground, but the tentacle caught him. It pulled him up through the hole where Risky came in.

Meanwhile, Shantae was racing though the Squid Pit as fast as she could. She was trying to catch up to Triton, hoping to make peace with him. "Please be okay," she repeated herself. She raced through the vent shafts, through the release valve.

She kept going, fighting off creatures that lurk in the caves wherever she encountered them. Until she found herself in the same cave where Triton was located. It was all clear of tinkerbats and Risky wasn't there either.

"Where are you Triton?" she asked. She continues down the cave where she comes across a small hole leading down another passage. When she got down there, there was another cage containing a prisoner. It wasn't a half genie. It wasn't Ima Goodgirl, nor was it Fillin. It was Shantae's zombie troublemaking friend, Rottytops.

At first Shantae was relieved, but soon she felt mad at her trying to pull off as a half genie. "Rottytops!" she cried. "You are in big trouble!"

Rottytops tried her best to hide it but it was no use. "Who's Rubby Chops?" she asked.

"Don't play dumb, I know it's you!" said Shantae.

Realizing her cover is blown, Rottytops gives in. Shantae then frees her from her prison, which took twice the amount of time given since Triton helped her.

"How did you get here?" Shantae asked. "And why were you pretending to be a half genie?"

"You didn't invite me," replied Rottytops. "You planned to go on vacation and leave me behind. That's just not fair. So I hid in the luggage and stowed away. And I dressed like a genie so I'd be included in fun stuff."

"Hold up," said Shantae. "I didn't invite you because I couldn't find you. Probably because you were hiding in the luggage."

"Oh," said Rottytops. "That does kinda make sense. You were going to invite me after all!"

"Yeah, well, I'll probably reconsider in the future," said Shantae in a grumpy state. "By the way, did you happen to see or hear a boy come by?"

"I'm not entirely sure. I was exhausted when I came down here," said Rottytops. "But here, this ought to cheer you up." She gives Shantae another fusion coin to turn into an animal.

"What's this coin?" asked Shantae.

"I'll show you," said Rottytops. "Just gotta change clothes first."

Shantae shut her eyes in an instant, not wanting to see Rottytops change in front of her. With a flash and a swipe of her genie clothes, Rottytops turns to wearing a short purple tank top, a yellow headband, skull earrings, a matching skull buckle on her brown belt, navy blue jean shorts, a black choker around her neck, purple socks and brown boots.

Once Rottytops explains the mark of the Jet Octo fusion coin, Shantae uses it to jump her way out of the hole she jumped in. She uses the Jet Octo fusion to explore new areas of the caves. Then she reaches the entrance to the fifth siren's lair.

At the same time, Triton wakes up from his knockout battle against Risky Boots. He finds himself in his siren form, tied up and muffled inside an octopus' head. And floating right beside him was the fifth siren: The Octo Siren.

"Don't bother struggling," she said. "I'm wasting enough of my strength to hold you in place until the Empress arrives."

Triton tries to break free. But the more he struggled, the tighter her grip became. He soon grew tired and looked down at the room he was held prisoner in.

"I don't even know why the Empress wants you alive," said the Octo siren. "You're nothing but a joke. What have you got to offer that my siren friends don't?"

"Hey!" cried a familiar voice. The two look down to see Shantae preparing to fight against the siren holding her friend hostage. "Let my friend go!" she cried.

The Octo siren yawned out of annoyance, "I don't have time for this. Octo-boss, destroy her."

The octopus roared in acceptance, gripping its tentacles onto the columns and shook the room. The room was surrounded by electric laser cannons ready to fire at Shantae at the octopus' command.

Shantae ran across the room, trying to find ways to defeat the Octo siren without hurting her hybrid friend. As the cannons were powered up and ready to fire, Shantae used an electric dance, short circuiting the power and disabling the cannons.

She finds six small brains in the two columns exposed and proceeds to whip them with her ponytail. But every time she gets one brain and moves on to the next, they regenerate. Realizing there's a pattern in the brains, Shantae uses the seer dance to see the sequence of elimination. And just like that, the Octo boss's real brain gets exposed to the half genie.

Without wasting any more time, Shantae starts attacking the octopus' brain with everything she's got. At the same time, Triton tried once again to escape from the siren's grip. Thanks to the hits the octopus is taking, the Octo siren was struggling with keeping Triton in her suction cups.

Triton manages to get one of his arms freed and uses his claws to slash off one of the sirens' tentacles. The sudden pain in the sleepy siren caused her to let go of him and make him swim around and around. The siren grew dizzy and sick, and the octopus was no better.

Then, Shantae breaks the glass dome protecting the octopus' brain. She whips her ponytail, destroying the brain and defeating the siren. Inside the octopus, Triton smiled knowing his friend achieved victory. He looks to the Octo siren, who starts to disappear and turn into an orb of light. The orb of light floats to Triton and whispers, "Now I know." The orb gets absorbed into Triton's heart and then a bright light fills the room.

Next thing Shantae and Triton know, was that the octopus and its siren was gone. They emerged victorious. Shantae rushed over to see if the hybrid was okay.

"Triton, are you alright?" she asked.

"Yeah," said Triton. "I'm fine." He starts to feel guilty leaving Shantae behind in that cave. "Look, I'm really sorry I left you. I was just still scared of the fact that the world would reject me if they knew who I really am. But that's no excuse to just leave you alone when your friend was in trouble." He looks at Shantae with a smile on her face. "Can you forgive me?" he asked.

Shantae walks over to Triton and places her hands on his. "Of course I do," she replied. "And I don't care what the world thinks about you. You're not a monster, and if they can't see that, that's their problem. You don't need the world to love you. You just need your world, which includes the people you care about the most. I have my Uncle, Bolo, Sky, Rottytops, and the people of Scuttle Island. Those are the people I care about. And I also care about you Triton. In many ways, you're just like me."

Triton smiled with a few tears rolling down his eyes. "I care about you too, Shantae," he said. "Maybe we're not oil and water. Maybe you're like the Sun to my Moon." The two hug it out and smile with relief that their friendship is saved. "Besides, you still owe me a dance lesson."

Shantae giggled and said, "Okay, but first thing's first, we gotta get our friends topside. I just rescued Rottytops. She'll probably be waiting outside." She races to the exit of the siren's lair. Triton smiled like he never smiled before. And for the first time in a long time, Triton was happy again. He followed Shantae quickly after her.

Back in the Empress' lair, the Empress was exhausted from all the frustration she had expressed. Her five siren subjects were defeated in the hands of Shantae and Triton. And now she was left alone in her withered state. But then, a shadowy figure came in and whimpered in fear at the Empress' state.

"Bring her to me," she said. "I have a small job for her." The shadowy figure disappears leaving the Empress all alone. "You may have defeated my minions, Triton. But I still have special plans for you. Soon, the world will be mine. And your powers as well."
