Roman taps on Gerri's door and lets himself into her office. "Got a minute?"

"Sure, what's up?" Gerri is leaning over her desk flicking through papers.

"I just wanted to get your advice on this interview about how great Dad is."

"It's a business interview, Roman."

"With just a few questions about how great Dad is thrown in at the end, right?"

"It'll be fine. Just tell them some happy childhood memories. You must have some good memories of your father, right?"

"Uh huh. Sure." He looks around as he walks closer to the desk. "Is this room bugged?"

She sighs. "If you can't think of anything, just make it up."

"Make it up? You want me to lie to the press? That's your legal advice? Gerri, I'm shocked at you."

"It doesn't have to be a complete lie. Just think of something nice you did with your siblings, pretend your father was there."

"Something that didn't involve dog cages? Although, if we wanna discredit Kendall…"

"I don't think something he did when he was seven would help, Rome." Gerri sinks down at her desk. "We might have to look at the face tattoo again, though."

"Are you alright?" he asks, finally noticing how stressed she looks.

"Your father, he made me CEO but he won't let me do anything. He won't even take my advice. He still thinks the FBI will fuck off if he tells them to."

"Well, Dad is pretty scary. If I were the FBI I would—" He jabs in the direction of the door with his thumb.

"They could raid us at any moment. Kendall is still running his mouth everywhere. This interview you're doing could really help."

"Shiv or someone like Shiv," Roman mimics Karolina. "She's not gonna risk her backup career by praising Dad publicly. Why am I always the one who has to bend over for him?"

"Your father will really appreciate it."

"And if, hypothetically, Dad ends up going to jail…" Roman glances over his shoulder. "I don't wanna be on the record praising him too effusively, right?"

"That's smart." She nods. "You're learning."

He feels a warm glow at her praise. "So, generic childhood memory. I love my dad but in a non-legally binding, can't possibly comment on the allegations kind of way."

"You got it."

"Thanks, Ger." He bounces out of the room, confident that he can nail the interview.
