Please enjoy. There is a character death in this chapter. You have been warned.
I pulled into the hotel parking lot and parked in front of our hotel room. I honked the horn and watched everyone come out. Throttle walked up to the driver side window.
"Where did you get this, babe?"
"The General gave it to me. Said I deserve it more than he did. He got it at an auction."
"There's no way the boys are going to be able to ride in this."
"Don't worry about that. This is a fun car. Before you and I go to eat, I need to see my beautiful twin boys. I missed them so much while I was gone."
Throttle moved out of the way so I could get out of the car. I closed the door and walked up to our hotel door. Throttle walked up behind me and opened the door for me.
"That was very sweet of you, babe. Thank you."
I noticed the big growth spurt they had while I was gone. "They got so big while I was gone."
They turned around and looked at me. "Mommy!" They both got off the bed and ran to me. I crouched down and held my arms out wide.
I embraced them tightly. "I missed my boys so much. Have you been good for daddy and grandma?"
"Yes mommy."
"Where were you, mommy?"
"Well, Tony, I have been at a military base, training new recruits."
"Sounds boring, mommy."
"Actually Tyrone, I enjoyed it. In fact, one recruit tried to grab my tail and found himself hanging upside down in front of me. I scared him real good too."
"I don't mean to interrupt your time with the boys, but we need to talk, babe."
"This doesn't sound good. When those four words are spoken, its usually bad news."
"Not always." Throttle looked at his mom. "Go and talk, sweetie. I'll take care of the boys. You need some time away."
"Thanks mom." Then he looked at me. "Come on, babe."
"We'll be back in a little while boys. Mind your grandma, ok?"
"We will, mommy. We love you."
"I love you too, my beautiful twin boys."
Throttle and I walked out of the hotel room and to the car. We both got in and I started it up.
"It purrs like a kitten."
"I know, right. So, what's going on, Throttle? Is everything ok?"
"Harley tried to commit suicide a couple nights ago."
I was glad I hadn't started backing up yet. "Oh my god. Why?"
"She's been very depressed since losing her daughter. Charley and Modo found her in the bathroom with very deep cuts on her arms and legs."
"Where was Vinnie in all this?"
"At a bar, getting drunk. Apparently, he's been very depressed too. None of us saw signs of either of them being severely depressed. They seemed fine the other day."
"Where is Vinnie now?"
"He took off. None of us can get a hold of him."
"This isn't good. Do your bikes have GPS on them?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Cause Modo's bike isn't here, yet he is. I know for a fact that you guys have ridden each other's bikes back to the garage at some time or another."
"Yeah, we have. You're thinking that if you can hack into the GPS on Modo's bike, you'll be able to find where Vinnie is?"
"That's the idea, but I don't know if the hotel manager will be ok with me doing it on his computer."
"While you were gone, I went and bought a laptop so I can get online and chat with Rimfire."
"How is he?"
"Good….and engaged."
"Does Modo know?"
"Not yet. He told me not to tell Modo yet. He wants to tell him in person."
"I have something I need to talk to you about, but I thought we'd talk over a nice dinner and a couple of beers. My treat."
"Sounds good. I haven't really eaten much since you left."
"Do you wanna end up in the hospital?"
"No, but,…."
"No buts, mister. Last time you barely ate, you lost a lot of weight and came back skinny. I told you I prefer my man to be meaty not looking like a stick that could break easily."

We arrived at the restaurant I had chosen. We got out of the car and stretched a bit before I locked it.
"That has to be the crampest spot I've ever been in."
"It does take some time to get use to the smallness of the inside. I think I might have Charley hack into Modo's GPS on his bike to find Vinnie. I may not like how he acts at times, but I think of him as a little brother. An annoying little brother."
"We've all thought of Vinnie as an annoying little brother. Except for Harley."
"And I bet Stoker thought of Vinnie as a son, just like he thinks of you and Modo the same way."
Throttle just looked at me. "Is there anything Charley hasn't told you about us?"
"Probably not. Come on, let's go eat."
We walked into the restaurant and waited in line. Throttle noticed that we were at Sizzler, then looked at me.
"I know its not the best place for a romantic dinner, but its where we had our first official date over a year ago."
"It doesn't seem like its been over a year ago. Wanna get the same dinner again?"
"Sure, but I'm paying for it this time. You paid on our first date."
"I have no problem with you paying this time."
We walked up to the counter and ordered our dinners. We got the same thing we did when first came here over a year ago. Steak and all you can eat shrimp.
After we got our drink cups and receipt, we looked for a booth to sit in. Just our luck to find the same one we sat in on our first date.
While we were waiting for our food to come, I texted Charley. I told to call me as soon as she was able.
Not long after we got our food, Charley called me.
"What's up, Mike? You tell Throttle yet?"
"Not yet. I was wondering if you could do me a favor?"
"Sure, what do you need?"
"I need you to hack into Modo's GPS on his bike and locate Vinnie. I have a bad feeling about where he might be."
"Is Throttle ok with me using his laptop?"
"You can ask him." Then I handed him the phone. "Its Charley."
Throttle took my phone. "What's up, Charley-girl?"
"Do you mind if I use your laptop to look for Vinnie?"
"Not at all, just don't crash it."
"I won't and thanks. Tell Mike I'll keep her updated. Enjoy your dinner, you two." Then he hung up and gave me the phone back.
"Babe, you ok? You look a bit upset."
"Very observant of you. I have a bad feeling about where Vinnie might be or what he may have done."
"You're thinking he may have done the unspeakable, don't you?"
I nodded my head. Throttle reached over the table and grabbed my hand and lightly squeezed it.
"I doubt he would do that."
"Throttle, he's severely depressed. Its very possible he would do that."
Before Throttle said anything else, my phone rang. I answered it. It was Charley.
"Please tell me you found him?"
"I found him alright along with what's left of Modo's bike."
"What do you mean 'what's left of Modo's bike'?"
"Vinnie's dead, Mike. It looks like he hit a tanker truck head on and…"
"He committed suicide. My gut feeling was right. Who's going to tell Harley the bad news?"
"I will. You and Throttle just enjoy your dinner and take your time getting back to the motel."
"Alright, Charley. Thanks." Then I hung up.
I looked at Throttle. He saw the tears running down my face.
"I'm so sorry, babe. I had no idea he would do it. Harley is going to be devastated."
"I know. Charley told me to take our time getting back to the motel. No need to rush back there."
"Wasn't there something you needed to talk to me about?"
"Yeah, there is. I'm being sent overseas next week, but I'm hoping that the General found someone else to take my place."
"Well, if doesn't, then you'll have to go. Orders are orders, babe."
"You're not mad that I could be gone for a long time?"
"Of course I'm mad, but there's nothing I can do about it. I just want you to be safe and come back alive."
I smiled then started eating my dinner, even though by now it had gotten cold.
