A BLACK HEART Chapter 16
A/N:- So yeah! Two consecutive updates! Yoohoo!
Japan wasn't as lively during the day as it was during the night.
The trio was moving silently through the streets of Tokyo, hopping from one alley to another.
"Where are we going?" Jason had asked.
"A funeral," Came Percy's reply.
And right now, they were going to crash the burial party of Tsukasa's son.
They finally reached the crematorium, which was shaped like the typical samurai-style hut. A thing at which Percy scoffed.
Several people were wearing black suits that had come to pay respects to the head of the leading technological group, Mirio Tsukasa.
Percy knew all about him. He was Shinobu's son and the direct heir to his entire fortune. The technological group they ran was a cover-up for the actual operations of the yakuza. Though Mirio never knew what his dad worked for, he always indirectly helped him.
Then Percy killed Shinobu, and heavily disrupted the workings of the yakuza. Which had led to all of this.
An elite force of the members of his father's gang was used to guard Mirio all the time while the yakuza was still working.
But then, it all crumbled, and Mirio, not knowing of his father's profession, couldn't do anything, and then he was assassinated.
So, now he was having his funeral ceremony and the last rites were being spoken.
Percy, Jason, and Reyna silently joined in and watched, as the only living relatives of Tsukasa went and said their blessings, bowing their heads in front of the coffin.
The priest raised his hand and commanded something. But that was the biggest slip-up.
Percy saw that his hands were heavily tattooed with markings that weren't unfamiliar to the young demigod.
He turned to face Reyna and Jason and silently pointed toward the people surrounding the ceremony.
Two priests, seven people at the back, fourteen in the front, and 2 on the roof, each having the same markings and weapons in their arms.
There was a sense of understanding that passed between the three as they readied themselves.
When the priest grabbed the daughter and led her down a path, was when Percy interfered.
He pushed through the crowd, heavily annoying everyone standing there, but he couldn't care less.
He grabbed the daughter's hand and the priests turned around confused but tensed.
Percy slid back his hood as his face came into full view and he enjoyed the satisfaction of watching the looks of horror and shock written on their faces.
"Remember me?" He asked with a smirk as the man brought out a gun and shot at Percy. He dodged and that was the beginning of the battle.
Several people discarded their robes, revealing their heavily tattooed bodies, and grabbed their weapons while others just screamed and scrambled back in shock.
Reyna grabbed the head of one and slammed him into the wall as Jason stabbed another in the chest with a katana he had found next to the coffin.
"I hope it wasn't sacred!" Jason yelled as he threw it like a javelin into another man.
Percy jumped up and kicked the heads of two yakuza agents, and punched the third right in the chest, a direct hit to the ribs, cracking a few of them.
Reyna turned around and kicked another in the groin while Jason slashed and stabbed his way through a horde of agents.
"These guys are never-ending!" He exclaimed as he kicked down another.
Percy was locked in a fierce fistfight with a big bulky guy when someone suddenly shot him in the back.
Percy gasped and hit the guy in front of him in the head as he turned around and rolled to the side, kicking the gun out of the man's hands.
Reyna performed a flawless axe kick and knocked down another guy.
Jason had discarded his katana and was now shooting at the assailants with a gun he had 'borrowed' from an agent.
Percy judo-flipped one guy over his back and then threw the second into the wall, and then he performed a butterfly kick aimed directly for the third guy's head. When he landed, Percy's legs buckled and he fell, gasping for breath.
"Percy!" Jason called out. "You okay?"
The son of Poseidon stood up shakily, grabbed the wound, and nodded. He decided that the fight was going on for too long and that he had to put an end to it.
"Jason! Reyna!" He called out. "Evacuate the civilians!"
They both looked back at Percy, confused. But looking at his fierce glare, they nodded.
Percy placed his hands on the earth, and a tremor shook the place, making everyone fall to their feet,
Before they could get up, Percy released another shockwave, much more devastating than the first one, as the ground cracked under the force.
The existing people fell to their deaths, screaming, as the ground sealed itself again.
He stood up and surveyed the destruction around him. The entire house was in ruins, and the scared civilians were gathered around in a forest with Reyna and Jason standing guard in front of them, with looks of shock on their faces.
"Come on, let's go," He said and Jason and Reyna nodded and grabbed his hands as they vanished from sight.
They reappeared in a shadowy lodge where Percy collapsed due to exhaustion.
"You ok?" Reyna asked as she gave him a bottle of water.
Percy grabbed it thankfully and emptied the entire bottle on top of him. He could feel the weariness and pain wash away as he stood up.
"So, what exactly happened back there?" Jason asked, taking off his shirt, leaving him in a white tank top.
"Those were the yakuza," Percy said. "They work for the guy I mentioned, Tsukasa."
"So, we track them down and then reach their headquarters and kill him again?" Reyna asked, lighting a cigarette.
"Yeah," Percy said fingering his necklace.
"How are we gonna find the headquarters?" Jason asked, leaning against the wall.
"Oh, that's easy we just need to find one of those guys and then make him lead the way."
"And how do we find him?" Reyna asked as a black arrow shot through the window and embedded itself in the wall just beside Percy's head.
He didn't even flinch and sighed. "Well, you got your answer."
He said and opened the door to see almost hundred, no thousand ninjas standing outside, their bows ready with more arrows.
Percy just stood there, as they let go of the bowstrings.
He smirked as the arrows stopped right in front of him, breaking at the point of impact as if they had hit some sort of invisible wall in front of him.
Percy smirked and looked back at the demigods. "I'm gonna make this quick."
He then snapped his fingers, as each and every mobster was cut exactly in half, blood spraying on the walls of the alley.
"Shit!" Percy swore loudly and punched the wall, leaving a crack. "I forgot to leave one alive!"
Jason and Reyna both looked at their all-powerful friend in shock. He really was a great ally to have and they were just thankful that Percy wasn't against them.
The son of the sea god sighed and looked back at them and grinned. "Let's just wait for another attack at the hotel, huh?" and transported them back to Momo's inn.
***TIME*SKIP***
Reyna and Jason were perched on the top of the roof of Shinjuku Prince Hotel in the dark, looking down at the bustling streets of Tokyo.
Reyna had her bow stretched with an arrow ready, searching for something.
Jason was flying around, using binoculars to survey the streets.
Percy was too exhausted and had fallen to sleep right away on Reyna's bed, snoring loudly.
The son of Jupiter suddenly came back and pointed down at a group of shirtless people with tattoos on their bodies moving in a dark alley.
The daughter of Bellona nodded and let go of the arrow, finding its target in the leg of one of the Yakuza.
Jason stretched out his hand and dark storm clouds gathered above as a huge bolt of lightning fell from the sky and struck a metal electricity grenade which was in Jason's hand as he threw it at the gathering and the entire group, their muscles spasming as they fell.
Reyna jumped from the side of the building and landed on a soft mattress they had laid out before going up. She ran forward, dashing in between the cars and trucks to the alley where the gang had been.
She grabbed one person by the hand and threw him up in the air. Jason quickly grabbed him using the air currents and brought him to the basement of the hotel for interrogation.
Two hours in and they still hadn't managed to make him speak English. He was rambling about in Japanese with a frantic look on his face.
He looked pretty young and new to the whole Yakuza business and was scared. He didn't even have any weapons and the two demigods didn't even have to do anything.
"I guess we'll have to wake Percy up," Jason said finally.
Reyna nodded. "Ensure this guy doesn't do anything stupid." And then she left.
An hour later, Reyna finally came in with an annoyed look on her face and Percy followed her, a cigarette in his hand.
"You made him smoke as well?" Jason asked accusingly. "You guys do know that that stuff kills you!"
"We know, Grace," Percy said as Reyna rolled her eyes at the son of Jupiter's antics. "We know."
"You want one?" Reyna asked nonchalantly as Jason gasped in shock at her, his hand on his chest.
At the sight of Percy, the young Yakuza became even more scared and started rambling something franticly.
"What's he talking about?" Jason asked, annoyed.
"He's saying that he's heard tales about me, how I mercilessly killed off his brethren and tore away his life's precious joy from him and how I killed his master and destroyed the life of every single killer. Their lives are indebted to 'Miss' Gaea who helped his master come back to life, stronger and younger than before. And how he is powerless now but his master will stop me and kill me, reducing me to ashes, blah blah blah…" Percy said, translating the kid's rant while exhaling rings of smoke.
"Ok," Reyna said. "What are you going to do now?"
Percy just ground his cigarette on his palm, burning a hole that soon healed up, and grabbed the kid by his hair.
"Tell us where the fuck your headquarters are, or I will destroy the entire country till I reach your fucking home," He said with a dark tone in his voice as the scared kid sunk even deeper into the shadows. Even Jason and Reyna shuddered at Percy's tone even though they didn't understand what he had said.
The kid shivered and blurted out the words, "K… Ko… Kobe!"
Percy grinned and stood up. "I see it hasn't changed since back then."
"What do we do with the kid?" Jason asked.
"Kill him," Reyna replied as Percy nodded in agreement.
Jason had a horrified look on his face that scared the kid for his life.
"Don't worry it will be painless," Percy winked at the kid as the shadows gobbled him up entirely.
"I can't believe you just did that," The son of Jupiter said. "That doesn't fit in the morals! You don't just kill a kid! A kid can change! He has a huge life ahead of him, you don't have the right to steal that away from him!"
Percy just waved his hand. "It doesn't matter anyway, we are going to kill a hundred more children like him… it won't matter. He's not one in a million. There are millions like him out there, training to become dangerous killers. Don't try to defend them."
Jason huffed in annoyance and followed Percy and Reyna out of the room.
"How are we going to reach Kobe then?" Reyna asked as Jason did a quick google search.
He was wary about it before but then Percy told him that this was far away from the realm of the greeks so their monsters won't get attracted here.
"There is a different mythology here, no one would dare interfere unless ordered to by a higher force," Percy had said.
"It's saying it's 6 hours away from here if we grab a car, and there really isn't any other mode of transport."
"Of course, we could always grab the car, but! We won't do that! You guys have your personal transportation right here!" Percy said pointing to himself, smiling proudly.
Reyna rolled her eyes. "Fine, then we leave tomorrow morning?"
Jason nodded and exited Reyna's room with his laptop in hand, a gift from Percy.
They had asked him where he got all that money from, and he had just responded, "I blackmailed the gods to pay for us, so all our expenses are sponsored by the gods!"
So then Percy had given them all gifts, and also had bought some things for Momo, namely a new Mazda Rx-7, an iPhone, a golden retriever, a new hotel suite, and lots of other things.
Now Percy and Reyna were alone in the room, sitting opposite to each other. They both had cancer sticks in their hands, exhaling smoke out of their mouth.
"You know… I never actually asked you this," Reyna began getting closer to Percy. "Where are you right now?"
Percy stuttered. "What… what do you mean? I'm right here! Sitting in front of you!"
"Really?" Reyna asked, an eyebrow raised. "Cause you seem pretty translucent right now."
"I—"
"This is a fake you right? This is not the real you… you're controlling it but you're somewhere else, right?"
"No, no…" Percy said. "I'm here!"
"Oh really? Let's test that," Reyna said and ground the cigarette on the ashtray.
She then brought her head even closer and pressed her lips to his.
Instead of feeling the warmth of another human's lips, she felt a cold and empty void, which was suddenly filled with heat again, as Percy's lips kissed her back.
After a few minutes they broke apart, and Percy was opaque again.
"So… you came back just to kiss me?" Reyna raised an eyebrow as Percy smiled cheekily.
The daughter of Bellona rolled her eyes and sat back down. "So, where were you?"
"I was scouting."
"Great," Reyna said and slumped in the chair, her hands crossed on her chest, her eyes closed.
Percy got up and leaned forward, gently grabbing her cheeks with his hands.
He brought his head close and caught her lips in his. Reyna opened her eyes and kissed him back, running her hands through Percy's hair.
They broke up after a few minutes, both blushing hard and breathing heavily.
"I love you, Reyna…" Percy said. "I really do."
Reyna nodded and kissed him back. "I love you too."
Percy smirked as she grabbed him by the collar and they hopped on the bed, with Reyna taking off his shirt all the while keeping their lips locked, only breaking apart to breathe.
Soon, the daughter of Bellona was left only in a black sports bra with her pants and Percy was entirely shirtless.
The son of Poseidon broke apart from the steamy kiss and took in Reyna's appearance.
Gods, she was fucking beautiful.
They were about to go further as Reyna removed her bra when suddenly they heard a knock on the door and they immediately jumped from the bed.
Another knock and they quickly and haphazardly wore their clothes again. Percy's shirt was not even properly worn as he opened the door to reveal Momo standing in the doorway.
She looked at them bewildered. She might not be a demigod but her sense of observation was strong. She noticed Percy's ruffled hair, Reyna's turned-out crop top, the sweat on their bodies, and the extreme feeling of love coming from the room.
"Carry on, man," Momo said after a moment of silence and awkwardness. "I'll just tell you tomorrow."
She shot a sly glance at the both of them who blushed and closed the door.
The two demigods stood there in front of the doorway for a few seconds before Percy broke the ice.
"That felt nice, huh?" The son of Poseidon said and looked at his watch. "Anyway, its getting kind of late now, I guess?"
Reyna nodded while rubbing her neck.
"Goodnight, Reyna," Percy said after another moment of uncomfortable silence.
"Goodnight, Jackson," Reyna replied, remembering Venus's words to her as Percy left the room.
She closed her eyes and sighed, still feeling the taste of Percy's lips on hers. Salty.
She took a finger and traced her lips, smiling softly. Maybe the curse could be broken.
***TIME*SKIP***
The next night, Percy shadow traveled with Jason and Reyna to Kobe, the place known best for Kobe Beef, not the basketball player.
They were sitting on top of a watchtower, wearing complete black clothes to blend in with the darkness.
Almost a million yakuza agents were swarming around a big black building, their black outfits contrasting well against the white snow.
"So, what can you guys do?" Percy asked turning around to face his comrades.
"Well, I can summon lightning."
"And, I uh have this cloak, a gift from my mother," Reyna said, showing off her black cloak. "It allows me to create whatever weapon I wish… and uh I can share my strength to those who need it… though I don't like using it that much."
Percy nodded at that and then thought for a moment, and told them the plan.
-TIME-SKIP-
"Howdy boys!" Percy called out, standing in front of the entire army. "Miss me!?"
A million eyes turned to him, pure fear in their eyes, but still determined, they readied their weapons.
A highly stupid or highly brave yakuza walked in front to talk with Percy.
"You're weak, outnumbered," He started. "No matter how powerful you are, we will kill you."
Percy smirked. "You're overestimating your strength man. Is that all the men you brought?"
The person in front of him roared at the mockery and slashed at his face with his katana.
The son of Poseidon just smirked as the wound healed within seconds. "Should not have done that."
There were shocked gasps from all around him. Percy simply grinned maniacally and touched the ninja on the shoulder. In a few seconds, he gasped and started to turn to dust starting from the place where he had been attacked, slowly spreading to his entire body as he disintegrated and fell to the ground.
More gasps.
"How… how?" One of the guys sputtered out.
Percy laughed, a hearty laugh that soon turned maniacal. "This ability of mine is a newfound one, and it interferes on the molecular level of all living things. If I will so, then anybody that I am touching will disintegrate within seconds. Just like your little friend over here."
He then started walking toward them, reaching an arm to touch one of the guys, with a dark look on his face and his eyes glowing with power. "Sayonara."
The first man screamed and fell back on another person as his arm started to turn into dust. Then suddenly the guys behind started to disintegrate as well, until the entire army turned to dust, falling like dominos one by one.
Soon, after a matter of seconds, in the place where a million yakuza agents were standing, stood a lone Percy Jackson in the middle of ashes.
"Well, this was quick," He said before he was shot in the back with a black arrow.
He turned around to look at the source and saw that there was a lone ninja with his bow ready with another arrow.
"So you were left huh?" Percy asked, ripping the arrow out of his body, the wound healing up. "Well, might as well finish the job."
He leaped into the air and twisted to dodge another arrow. He grabbed the guy's head and ripped it apart from his body.
"You guys are the worst you know?" Percy said to the empty ashes as he sat on top of the samurai building. "Humans, you guys don't disintegrate when you die, that's why I learned this trick."
He said and placed his hand on the guy's body, turning him into dust as he himself melted into the darkness.
Jason and Reyna were at the top of the black building, desperately trying to figure out a way to a glass chamber, breaking it up.
They could see the children or more likely teenagers. The daughter was 16-17 and the son was 18.
Percy had said that Tsukasa planned to get the daughter, Himari married as soon as possible to get more heirs and he planned to get the son, Haro killed.
So right now, they rushed into the room, weapons ready.
They had no problem finding Tsukasa's grandchildren, tied, bound, and unconscious.
Reyna had cut their chains and they were now almost ready to leave when suddenly a voice came from behind them.
"Where do you think you're going?" A young man about 20 to 21 years old with short hair said in perfect English, standing tall at around 6 feet 2 or more.
"Who the hell are you?" Jason asked as he readied himself with a gladius in his hand.
"You might know me as Shinobu Tsukasa," The man said as the demigods' eyes widened.
Jason wasted no time and took out a metal coin, charged it up with electricity, and threw it at Shinobu.
The coin found its mark and Tsukasa screamed as electricity arced throughout his body, falling down on one knee.
Jason and Reyna saw this as an opening and leaped forward, going in for the kill. Both raising their swords, they cut through the yakuza head in the shape of an X.
They looked back and saw that Tsukasa was still standing, his wounds healing up, back the way they were, as he stood up and stretched his back.
"Ah, you thought I would be so easy to kill? I wasn't chosen by Gaea for nothing you know," He said and threw a javelin-shaped structure at Reyna.
Jason gasped and jumped in front of her as the spear impaled him in the stomach, gasping as he fell down.
Reyna was in shock as she looked down at her friend, rage filling her eyes as she conjured a dagger and threw it at Tsukasa, who caught it with ease.
She then created a chain, slashing at the man from one side to another, then discarded it and grabbed a gladius, stabbing him from behind.
But of course, her skills, no matter how good they were, were no match for an immortal head of the yakuza.
Tsukasa was able to dodge and parry every attack with ease, forcing Reyna to use her legs.
She then jumped up and drop-kicked Shinobu to the floor, doing a kip-up to dodge an incoming attack.
Tsukasa grabbed Reyna's cloak and tore it off her. "So this is what allows you to create your weapons?"
He looked at it approvingly and tore it up as Reyna gasped.
Then he grabbed her and backhanded her as she fell next to Jason, her head cracking on the glass wall behind her.
"You guys might be good, but I'm better!" The Yakuza head tore off his shirt, revealing perfect 8-pack abs.
"You might be powerful and all, but Percy is stronger!" Jason yelled out, coughing blood. "He's stronger! He killed you once, he'll kill you again!"
"Let that Jack-son of a bitch come! I'll show him what I'm made of." Tsukasa yelled as the entire place darkened.
The javelin in Jason's stomach was ripped out and his wound closed up. He gasped as he felt the hole become just a scar.
Reyna looked at him in shock and then they both looked behind Shinobu, and their faces went from shock to a smirk on both of their faces.
The atmosphere darkened even more as Tsukasa looked up to see the entire plane had turned dark, darker than night.
That's when his eyes widened and he looked back, his gaze searching for what the demigods had seen, and that's when he saw it.
A pair of two differently colored eyes glowing in the dark, one a poisonous green, and the other a midnight black, with tinges of gold in it.
Tsukasa trembled as he raised his hand to beg for mercy before a shockwave was released from Percy, a pure blast of energy that invoked fear in the hearts of everyone present there. The gangster almost forgot he was immortal.
Shinobu fell to his knees, his hands joined together as he begged for his life.
Percy walked forward, his face covered in blood as he loosened the tie on his suit, cracking his neck, an arrow sprouting from his shoulder.
He looked like the worst nightmare ever.
"Don't hurt my friends," Was all that he said, before the world felt the wrath of Percy Jackson.
A/N:- Hope you guys liked this chapter! Uh, I have something special planned for the next chapter! And if you have questions about Percy's new powers… I'll answer them. So, his healing. We know that water heals Percy, right? So I took that a notch further by making him heal using the water vapor present in the air. He can heal minor injuries and all that in normal mode. But in rage mode, he can recover from even worse and can heal others as well.
As for the disintegrating stuff… that comes from Hades. I read somewhere that Hades could turn skeletons to dust at will, so why not take that a little further and do that with living things? So Percy can interfere with the normal workings of the body and reach the inner skeletal structure of humans and turn that into ashes. Hope you liked it! But, I won't be using it much because it's too much of an OP power. I'll be saving it for adverse situations like millions of people swarming. Also… it doesn't work on gods and titans or monsters, because they are immortal, so it's only for demigods and zombies and undead warriors. Yes, you heard that right, zombies and other undead people are coming! I'm not going to be lazy like last time! I'm adding them completing the entire quest before moving on to SON!
