Chapter 50
Angel Island...

As Metallix Neo flew wildly through the jungle surrounding the island, he worked on regaining control as the frenzied alternate fox held onto one of his hands with his teeth. After several minutes, Metallix Neo regains control over his flight systems and stops in mid-air and turns his attention to the annoying fox latched onto his hand. He put the fox in front of him and then rocketed towards the ground, creating a sonic boom from the speed. The fox doesn't react to the speed or the direction, only seeing an enemy. After a rapid descent, the two make impact with the ground and the impact forces Frenzy to let go. Metallix Neo looks over the damage on his hand and finds that while the teeth bit deep, they did minimal damage. He then reaches down and grabs the fox by the throat. The fox weakly slashes at Metallix Neo, the impact having done more damage than anything Mecha Sally did. Metallix Neo activates X-ray vision and scans the fox over, noticing that his ribs while broken a few moments ago are rapidly healing.
Two quick punches shatter them again and the fox coughs up blood.
Two more quick punches and his lungs are collapsing, his breathing faltering and his attempts at attacks grow weaker.
Metallix Neo then looks at the fox and grabs him by the head with both hands and begins going for crushing of the skull. The fox yells in pain.
WARNING! UNKNOWN ENERGY RAPIDLY CLOSING!
Metallix Neo looks before he avoids a plasma bolt fired at his head and the inferior biomechanical fox charges towards him, firing a plasma cannon at him. Metallix Neo throws the other fox away and turns towards the biomechanical one, avoiding every plasma bolt fired at him. As the fox gets within melee range, he knocks the cannon aside and goes for a rib shattering punch.
The fox staggers back a moment, coughing up blood but the ribs do not break.
Combat mode detected. Reinforcement of bone analogs detected.
The biomechanical fox goes for a point-blank shot, deflect again before grabbing the cannon arm. Apply force. Creaking metal, yells of pain, blood. Weak. Inferior. Trigger weapon discharge against owner's will. Metal and blood go flying as fox staggers back, grabbing face wound. Optics flash from sapphire to red. Takes aim without getting distance. Punish. Cannon removed from arm. Fox collapses in pain.
Metallix Neo tosses the arm cannon away and grabs the biomechanical fox by the head and digs his claws into the plasma wound causing the fox to scream in pain.
WARNING! UNKNOWN ENERGY DISCHARGE!
Metallix Neo's systems are flooded by Chaos Energy as he's hit by a beam of Chaos energy causing him to drop Tails.
SYSTEM OVERLOAD DETECTED!
REACTOR NOT COMPATIBLE WITH ENERGY!
SYSTEMS CRITICAL!
AVOID ADDITIONAL EXPOSURE!
Metallix Neo staggers back as he regains some stability but the ground shakes as a black and yellow metal dragon-like machine lands nearby, wings having arcs of Chaos energy sparking across them. Metallix Neo glares up definitely at the larger machine before he's tackled from behind by the other fox. The fox rips at his back again.
System prediction: DEFEAT!
System suggestion: RETREAT
Mission: Failure
Metallix Neo's optics narrow as he finally gets his claws around the fiery-furred fox's neck and holds him in front of him. The fox struggles much more violently this time as the originally purple eyes now glow a fiery red.
Kill
Metallix Neo goes to impale the fox in his grasp before a katana impales him through the chest, missing his reactor and the Metal Sonic's optics widen as he looks and sees TD in Mobian form. The Metal Sonic also drops the fox in his grasp as he tries to grab the fox doll turned Mobian.
"Oh look, I found a weak spot." growled TD before he kicked the Metal Sonic away.
Metallix Neo staggered back from the kick, barely stopping himself from falling off the island. The katana, while having missed his reactor, cut through several backup stabilizer systems and disabled the thruster located in his back. He slowly reaches for the weapon lodged in his chest before grabbing the hilt but then he looks up and finds the dragon glaring angrily at him
"FALL." snarled the metal dragon with Neo-Shard's voice before opening its two mouths, revealing two Chaos Cannons fully charged and ready to fire.
WARNING! WARNING!
SYSTEM OVERLOAD! SYSTEM OVERLOAD!
EVADE! EVADE!
Metallix Neo stared into the golden energy spheres, his systems unable to respond due to the sheer power being pointed at him. The protective glass covering his optics cracks on the right side before the cannons are discharged and he gets consumed by the golden energy. The duo beams blast Metallix Neo off the island and down to the deepest depths of the ocean below.
Shardic Overlord closes its mouths once Metallix Neo's energy signature disappears and he glares down at the waters below before he turns his attention back to the two injured foxes, mainly with Tails. Slothic and Ravager are already trying to help Frenzy. As Frenzy begins to calm down, the fiery effect fades and his fur returns to being black and his eyes go back to being purple as he collapses but Slothic quickly catches him. The fox coughs up blood.
"That...hurt...why is the world spinning? muttered Frenzy before he falls unconscious.
"We need to get them medical support." said Slothic as he looked over Frenzy and then took at glance at Tails.
"The Tornado's top speed will do more harm than good to them right now" said Ravager.
"Get Tails' cannon. I'll fly us back. Won't be as fast as that Tornado but none of us will suffer injuries from the flight this time." said Shardic Overlord.
"Hey! What about this one?!" yelled Knuckles as he ran onto the scene carrying the still deactivated Mecha-Sally.
"I'll take her." said TD as he shifted into his doll form, flew over and teleported away with Mecha-Sally.
"You. Stay and guard the island." said Ravager to Knuckles as he picked up the broken plasma cannon lying in the grass with blood dripping off it from the ruptured veins.
"That's my job already!" snapped Knuckles.
"Well, don't let it fall again to darkness."
The two glared each down before Knuckles relented.
"Fine. I'll try to do better this time. Bastard caught me off guard last time anyway."
"Alright, let's get going." said Slothic as he carefully picked up Frenzy.
Shardic Overlord then picked up the four with his massive claws and took off in the direction of the Egg Carrier.
Egg Carrier...
Eggman watched the aerial battle unfolding between Admin_Fun and Shade fighting Infinite across several support barges Eggman had deployed as additional distractions against the fortress defenders. They had already lost four of the automated barges to Infinite. He had ordered Razor and Mayhem to stay aboard the main ship incase Infinite got aboard but so far, he seemed intent on weakening the distraction forces.
His attention was brought to the ship's radar system as it detected something massive heading for the ship. He got nervous until he recognized the direction it was coming from. Angel Island. He didn't relax yet as he didn't detect the plane that they had used to get there.
"Overlord to Egg Carrier, come in!" came Shardic Overlord's voice over the comm-link. Voice sounding urgent.
"What is it Overlord?" asked Eggman, watching the battle unfold but also watching the radar.
"Angel Island team returning to base with success. However, we have two injured!"
"Well, I've got some bad news. Infinite's created a web of air defenses that will target you if you get too close. I've had to pull the Egg Carrier back and deploy support barges to deal with the new defenses! I cannot let you get close."
"That's fine. I can teleport the four to you."
"Wait! Teleport?! We didn't agree to this!" came Slothic's worried voice over the comms.
"Too bad! CHAOS CONTROL!"
Slothic, Ravager, Frenzy and Tails are teleported onto the bridge and all four have their fur puff up from the static electricity produced by the teleport. The residual electricity also causes Eggman's moustache to puff up and he turns red with anger.
"NOW LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE! YOU'VE RUINED MY MOUSTACHE!" yelled Eggman as the other two shake their fur back to normal before quickly taking the injured foxes to the medical room.
Shardic Overlord only chuckles at Eggman's reaction as he heads towards the fight.
Shade dodges a Phantom Ruby Cube fired at him as he fires an SMG at Infinite who creates a Phantom shield wall in front of himself to stop the bullets. Both notice the massive metal dragon fly overhead and Shade chuckles softly.
"Never thought I'd be glad to see that form again." said Shade quietly before dodging another Phantom Ruby Cube.
"A metal dragon won't help you." said Infinite as he kept his eye on Shade.
"No, but it's gonna hurt when he ambushes you." said Shade as Admin_Fun appeared behind him and the two are launched by a spring off of the barge they were fighting on.
"What?" said Infinite confused before the dragon's shadow fell directly over him. He turned around ready to fight before he heard the charging sound as the dragon opened its two mouths, "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-!"
Infinite isn't able to finish that sentence as the Chaos Cannons fire and the barge is ripped apart by beams cutting through it.
Snively's Command Center...
Infinite reappeared in the command center. His body smoking and his cybernetics having suffered heavy damage with his mask's lense now being broken. He collapses to a knee, breathing heavily.
"DO I HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING MYSELF?!" snarled Mephiles as he stormed outside without asking about the situation.
Infinite looks at Snively who makes a "not yet" gesture and goes back to working on Sonic.
Mephiles storms outside and creates two spheres of dark energy before throwing them up into the sky. The spheres explode into dark energy and begin to create something. He chuckles darkly as the beings formed from the dark energies, are copies of Iblis and Dark Gaia (1).
Eggman stands up in the command center, taking off his glasses.
"Well...shit..." muttered Eggman as the two entities targeted Shardic Overlord.
