In the mourning at Garou's apartment
Garou's pov
Beep!
Beep!
WHAM! "Damn alarm clock." I say, tiredly. I got back home late at night and I decided to hit the hay. I was having a nice dream, until this piece of crap woke me up. Ow well. I had to get up and tell the others about the information I learned. I got up from bed and went downstairs. Upon entering the dining room, I smell some really good food. "Ah. Good morning Garou. Breakfast will be ready soon." Kurogiri greets me as he cooks sausage and eggs for breakfast. "Yeah. Good morning as well." I say taking a seat at the table.
"The others are still asleep, but they may wake up soon." Kurogiri says. "You know, you didn't have to do this." I say. "I prefer to. Though I have my freedom now, I am unsure of what else to do. All I've ever known was serving my masters." Kurogiri says. "Well, don't think of me as your master. I didn't force you to join me, you chose yourself. Besides, you can leave whenever you like." I say. "Yes, but I believe in your vision Garou. I will try to help in anyway I can." Kurogiri says. "So, what did you learn on the Shie Hassaikai?" Kurogiri asks.
"Well, I couldn't get the full layout of the base, but I do know that it is mainly an underground base. They've got heavy weaponry and lots of manpower. But, I think we can handle it." I say. "Anything else?" Kurogiri asks. "Well, I learned about Overhaul's goal, but I'll tell you and the others once everyone is here." I say. "Very well." Kurogiri says as he continues to cook. He is so dedicated to being a butler that he does know what else to do. Kinda sad in a way. A question suddenly pops in my head. "Kurogiri, do you remember who you were before you ended up like this, or have you always been this way?" I ask.
Kurogiri remains silent for a while before saying, "I don't know. I remember being created by All for One, but I don't know if I was someone else before. Maybe, I'll find out one day." Kurogiri says. "*Yawn* What's that lushest smell? It stinks!" Twice says, making his presence known. "Morning, you Deadpool rip off." I greet him. "I am not a rip off Deadpool!" Twice yells. Soon, the others arrive and we begin eating breakfast. "So, how did your meeting go yesterday?" Mr. Compress asks. "I managed to form a partnership with Overhaul, but he's clueless about our real intentions." I say. "Finally, we can pay back on him." Magne says, having trouble eating with one hand. "Uh, one more thing." I say, getting their attention.
"Overhaul wants Toga and Twice to work for him for a while." I say. "….WHAT?!" Twice and Toga yell together. "I had no choice. If I refused, we wouldn't be getting closer to getting revenge on him." I explain. "But why me?!" Twice asks. "He's taking out our more valuable assets. Smart." Kurogiri says. "So, do you have a plan for this, or not?" Dabi asks. "I do. By having Toga and Twice with Shie Hassakai, they can help tear it down from the inside, while we focus on finishing the job." I say. "But, if this is going to work, I need you to keep your cool Twice." I say as Twice reluctantly nods. "Same for you, Toga." I say as I turn to look at her, but she's gone. "Where did she go?" I ask.
"Huh? She was right here, how did she leave without us knowing?!" Spinner yells. Where did she…god dammit. "She's going for the blood!" I yell. I dash to where the freezer is and see her about to drink blood. I quickly snatch it from her before she can drink it. "What did I say?!" I yell. "I'm sorry. I couldn't help it!" Toga says. I drag her back to the others and let go of her. "So, anything else we should know?" Spinner asks, trying to change the subject. "I got a good look inside the building, but not on the outside. I'll go back soon to look over the building for anything we should be worried about." I say as I notice Toga trying to crawl away. "And I'm taking you with me." I say, pointing at Toga. "Huh?! But why?!" Toga asks. "So you don't try to drink anymore blood behind my back." I say.
In a street near the Yakuza base
Midoriya's pov
"Hey look, Heroes." A civilian says. "That's the guy from the Sports Festival." Another civilian says. "This is nerve wracking." I say. "What's the matter? Didn't you go on patrols during your internship?" Miro asks. "Uhhhh." I didn't actually go on patrol since I was fighting Stain. "Oh, right. The incident with Stain. Sorry." Miro apologizes. "It's fine. I'm sure you had the same problem." I say. "Yeah, I did. But, don't worry. I'll show you the ropes. Just watch and learn my friend!" Miro says, posing dramatically.
Today, for my assignment under Nighteye, Miro and I are patrolling the streets to make sure everything is fine. "Hey, I never did ask, but is it true that you came face to face with Garou at Dagoba beach a month ago?" Miro asks. "Yeah. I fought him at Dagoba Beach and lost." I say, cringing at the memory of it. "Must have been scary to face Garou like that." Miro says. "It was, but I managed to survive." I say. A question then comes to mind. "What is your opinion on Garou?" I ask. "Hmm. I don't know. I haven't met the guy. Though, he does sound dangerous and someone I shouldn't mess with." Miro says. "However, I did watch his speech when he beat All Might and….I don't think he's as bad as people make him out to be." Miro says.
"What? But he attacks other heroes." I say. "I know that, and it is wrong. But, I think if the heroes just stop and talk to him, maybe he could turn around and be a h—", "Garou will never be a hero." I cut him off. "Garou is only trying to disturb the peace and cause chaos. He has to be stopped." I say. "Wow. You really see the world in black and white, don't you?" Miro asks. "What?" I am confused. "You and your class are still young and have a lot to learn, but when you're older, you'll start to see the world differently. It's funny. I used to see the world in black and white before seeing that it's really gray. That we're all just people." Miro says. I…I don't get it.

"Can we leave now?" Toga asks. "Not yet. Now shut up will you!" I yell. "But this is so boring!" Toga complains. We've been scouting the Shie Hassakai base for hours in case there is anything else, but we haven't found any threats to worry about. It's just heavily guarded. "Please! I'm so bored!" Toga complains. "Alright! Alright! We can go home. There's nothing important anyway." I say as we begin to walk home. "Can't believe you won't let me have blood. It's not fair." Toga says. "It's for your own good. Besides, I told you can have blood once or twice on certain days." I explain.
"But I hate it. Why do I need to do this?" Toga asks. "If you don't, it will cause you to hesitate if another one of our own gets injured. And it could help you think clearly." I say. "Are you calling me stupid?!" Toga yells. "I am. But once you start to control your quirk, you'll get better." I say. "You're just trying to force me to be something I'm not. Like them." Toga says. "Who?" I ask. "…Nothing." Toga refuses to answer. "*Sigh* Look, I'm just trying to help. I'm not saying to not use your quirk, but to control it. Right now, it's controlling you and that can't happen." I explain.
Midoriya's pov
"I don't get it. What makes Garou seem like a good guy?" I ask. "Well, he doesn't kill heroes, he saved that kid, and he has a noble goal. Like I said, we just need to talk to him and come to an understanding." Miro says. "I guess. But I just don't get it." I say. "Don't worry. You will." Miro says, patting my back.
Garou's pov
"Could I have blood back at the apartment?" Toga asks me. "If you shut up, maybe." I say. "Really?!" Toga asks. "NO!" I yell. "Ugh! You suck!" Toga yells. "Sure. Use your childish comebacks at me. I'm sure it will faze me." I mock her. "Shut up!" Toga yells. "You shut up!" I yell.

Unknown to both groups, they were not paying attention to who was in front of them. "So far nothing has happened. You think a villain is really going to show up?" Midoriya asks Miro. "Well, you never know." Miro says as they ignore an incoming arguing couple ahead of them. "For all we know, a villain may just walk right into us." Miro jokes. "Like that's going too—" Bump! "Hey watch it you…" The man Midoriya ran into stops his sentence. "Oh sorry…" Midoriya stops his sentence when he sees the man he ran into is none other than Garou.
'You've…' Garou thinks to himself. 'Got to be…' Midoriya thinks to himself. 'KIDDING ME?!' They both think to themselves. 'The Hero Hunter? HERE?!' Miro thinks to himself. "Who are they?" Toga asks, confused. However, Garou does not answer as he and Midoriya glare at each other. "Uhhh. Listen, we don't want any trouble, so why don't we—" Miro is unable to finish as Midoriya instantly powers up and attempts to punch Garou. However, Garou dodges and slams his fist against Midoriya's chest, blasting him back and causing Midoriya to vomit blood.
"Midoriya!" Miro calls out to his friend. On instinct, Miro tries to fight as well. Garou dodges the attack and tries to punch Miro, but Miro Permeates through Garou's attack and lands a blow to Garou's face. Garou easily scoffs this off and goes in for another punch. Miro permeates again, but Garou predicts this and uses his knee to hit him in the chest, causing Miro to stagger and Garou uses Fist of Flowing Water to finish him off. Garou back hands Miro to Midoriya and they are both heavily injured.
"I swear, everywhere I go, you are always there. You are really getting annoying, Midoriya." Garou says as he walks to them. "Who are they?" Toga asks. "The green haired kid is a hero in training that I fought before, but I don't recognize the other one." Garou explains. Midoriya stands on his feet, shakily. "I could say the same, Garou. I won't lose this time." Midoriya says. "Midoriya, wait. *Coff* We can't fight him here. People could get hurt, and we're not strong enough." Miro says, but Midoriya doesn't listen. "We have to stop him. Here and Now!" Midoriya yells. "Hehe. You've gotten cockier. And that cockyness will be your downfall." Garou says, ready for a fight.
Toga stands behind with her knife out, ready to help him if he needs it. She may not like that Garou is forcing her on a diet, but she still likes him. However, Toga hears heavy breathing coming from the alley she is standing in front of. "What the?" Toga says, outloud. "What is it now?" Garou asks, annoyed that she is distracted. "I thought I heard—" Toga is cut off when something small runs out of the alley and into her. Both sides stand down when they see the thing running out of the alley is a little girl. "A girl?" Midoriya says, confused as to why a girl is here. "Hey, run off brat. This place is going to…get…what the?" Garou trails off as he notices the girl wearing a torn hospital gown, and has bandages on her arms and legs. The girl in question is also in tears, like she was running for her life. Upon laying eyes on her, Midoriya and Miro are curious as to what happened to the girl.
However, Garou and Toga have different reactions. Garou is also curious as to why the girl is bandaged up, but also that she has a horn on her head. 'Is it her quirk or something?' Garou questions. As for Toga, she stops in her tracks when looking at the girl. When she looks at the girl, an image of her when she was younger appears with the girl. As if on instinct, Toga immediately kneels down and checks on the girl. "Are you alright?" Toga asks in a kind voice.
Suddenly, the girl leaps onto Toga and hugs her tightly. "Hey hey. Kid, what are you doing?" Garou asks as he kneels down to the girl as Miro and Midoriya get up and walk over. "...Please…*sniff*... Please don't go." The girl begs, holding on to Toga. 'What's wrong with her? And why is she covered in bandages?' Midoriya questions himself. "You should be more careful." A voice suddenly says. The four turn their heads toward the alley as Overhaul walks out of the alley. "We don't want to cause trouble for the heroes." Overhaul says to the girl. 'Overhaul? What's he doing here?' Garou questions.
"I hope you'll forgive my daughter. I don't know what to do with her. Always bumping into things." Overhaul says, trying to act like a dad. However, Garou and Toga can see through the ruse very easily. As for Midoriya and Miro, they recognize Overhaul. 'He's from the Shie Hassakai. Nighteye warned us about him. "No. We should apologize. We were about to get into a fight without checking for civilians. Our bad." Miro says with a smile. 'Is he really this naive?!' Garou questions.
"Well, I should go ahead and take Eri back before you fight." Overhaul says, revealing that the girl's name is Eri. "Let her go now, villain. Then we can finish our fight." Miro says. Toga hesitates, but ends up holding the girl tighter. She knows that Overhaul is doing something to her, and she won't let Eri go. "It seems Eri wants to stay. So, why don't you move along." Toga says as Garou stands beside her on the ready. "Aw ,Children. So determined to do whatever they want. That sometimes they just don't listen." Overhaul says as begins to pull his glove off. Eri sees this and runs from Toga back to Overhaul.
"Wait!" Toga calls out, but Miro grabs her shoulder. "Apologizes for the disturbance." Overhaul says as he walks away with Eri. As they walk away, Eri looks back at them with eyes telling them that she needs help. Garou and Midoriya, however, can only watch as she is taken away. "...Why?" Garou asks. "Huh?" Miro is confused. "You knew that he was doing something to her, yet you did nothing! Some heroes you are!" Garou yells. "I had my reasons. You saw what he was doing. He was about to get violent, and that would've caused someone to get hurt." Miro explains. "But what about her! Huh?!" Toga yells.
"Look, I know you're angry, but—", "Miro, we should've done something. We should have." Midoriya says. "Get out of the way! I'll get her myself!" Garou says as he goes to fight Overhaul, but Miro stops him. "Please wait!" Miro yells, but Garou pushes him aside. "I'll tell you all I know about him!" Miro yells. "I can tell you don't like Overhaul. So, let's talk about what we know. Please." Miro begs. Garou is hesitant, but nods.
In a restaurant
No one's pov
Miro, Midoriya, Toga, and Garou take a seat in a noodle restaurant and there are a few people in the restaurant. Toga and Miro sit in silence as Garou and Midoriya glare at each other. To say that they hate each other is understatement. "We're here now. So, what do you want to say?" Garou asks Miro. "Uh…Well first, let's start with introductions. My name's Miro Togata. You seem to know Midoriya already, and I already know you. However, I don't know you." Miro says, pointing to Toga. "…Himiko Toga. Now, start talking." Toga demands, angrily.
"Well, my boss, Sir Nighteye, has been investigating the Shie Hassakai for quite some time. Though we know very little." Miro explains. "Why is your boss interested in them? They're just a dying group nowadays." Garou says. "True, but Sir has been speculating that they could make a comeback since we found one of their new products." Miro explains. 'New product? Does he mean the bullet that can destroy a person's quirk?' Garou questions. "We shouldn't be telling them this, Miro. They can't be trusted." Midoriya says. "What? Afraid we'll ruin your operation?" Garou taunts Midoriya. "Wouldn't put it past you since you've always tried to find a way to ruin the pro's plans." Midoriya says.
"If you're talking about Kamino, I didn't know heroes would be there that quickly." Garou says. "But you still fought All Might, and put this society into chaos." Midoriya says. "Hey, I just told the truth. Not my fault you can't handle it." Garou says. "Tsk! What's so wrong with society that you had to change it?! Huh?!" Midoriya yells. "…You should know since you were quirkless." Garou says. "What?! How do you know?!" Midoriya asks. "I didn't till now. Back in Kamino, All Might mentioned that his successor would stop me. I remembered that in our previous encounters that you used the same moves as him, and your power is identical to his. That led me to the conclusion that you're his successor. And you just confirmed that when I asked you if you were quirkless." Garou explains.
Midoriya is dumbfounded. 'Is it really that obvious?!' Midoriya questions. "Do you know what's going on?" Miro asks Toga. "Nope. But I'm enjoying the show." Toga says with a shit eating grin. "As I was saying, you should know what it's like since you're quirkless. You know how society discriminates against not just us, but other people." Garou says. "I know, but I can change that once I'm a pro." Midoriya says. "You think the people can wait that long? Besides, you're clearly ignorant about the flaws in society." Garou says. "Flaws?" Midoriya questions.
"This society is based on quirks. A person's quirk will decide if they're a hero, or a villain. They don't even give those with villainess quirks a chance to be heroes. As for mutants, they're treated like monsters when they're just as human as the rest of us. And don't get me started on those without a quirk. So, you want to be the best hero ever? Well how can you be the best if you can't see the flaws in society and attempt to make it better?" Garou asks Midoriya. 'It…It can't be that bad. Right?' Midoriya thinks to himself in denial. "Let's get back on topic. What do you know of Overhaul, Garou?" Miro asks, trying to change the subject.
"Tsk. Overhaul has been trying to recruit my group and I, but we refused the first time he asked. He also took one of our own member's arms." Garou explains. "We've recently tricked him into believing we'll side with him, but we're just getting pay back on him." Garou finishes explaining. "I see." Miro says. 'This could be useful for Sir's plans. "Now, what do you know of the girl?" Toga asks. "Well, not much. We don't know her birth date, her true parents, or her true family. All we know is that her name is Eri." Miro explains. "That product you mentioned. Was it a bullet?" Garou asks. "Yeah. Do you know what it is?" Miro asks. "It's a bullet that can destroy a person's quirk. I know this because Overhaul showed it to me." Garou explains.
Miro and Midoriya are shocked that there is a bullet that can destroy a person's quirk. "However, it's only in its early stage." Garou says. "Anything else?" Toga asks. "Well, when we analyzed the bullet, it showed that it had human DNA." Miro says as Garou freezes. He remembers about the medical equipment he saw in Overhaul's base. It could only mean one thing. "While I was at Overhaul's base, there was medical supplies. I didn't think much of it, but seeing Eri with bandages means that…that…that Overhaul is using her blood to make those bullets." Garou stutters out in realization.
Miro and Midoriya freeze in their place as they are reminded of Eri. 'She…She…Oh god.' Miro thinks to himself. 'Eri…I should've done something!' Midoriya scolds himself. As for Toga, all she can do is cover her mouth as she cries. 'No child deserves that.' She thinks to herself. However, they turn to Garou as he radiates a murderous aura. 'Overhaul, I swear, I'm going to tear you to PIECES FOR THIS!' Garou yells in his head as he slams his fist onto the table, breaking it in half and alerting the staff. "He is going to pay for what he's done to her." Garou says in a low tone. "I'll do much worse to him than what I've done to my other victims." Toga says with a glaring look.
"…Let's make a deal, hero." Garou says looking at Miro as he stands up. "I offer a temporary ceasefire, until we take care Overhaul, and save Eri. After that, we're enemies again." Garou says. 'I know I shouldn't do this, but we need all the help we can get.' Miro thinks to himself. "Alright. I'll tell Sir. You should probably go now." Miro says as Garou and Toga leave. As they leave, Midoriya thinks to himself, 'I will save Eri. No child should go through that!' An image of Eri appears in his head. "We'll save her. I promise." Miro says, grabbing Midoriya's shoulder since he noticed was angry. "Let's get back and report this to Sir." Miro says as they leave the restaurant, paying for the damage on the way out.
Both Garou and the heroes now have a common enemy. Together, they'll destroy Overhaul's operations and save Eri. The question now is, who will get to Eri first, and who will she go with.
(Note: Apologies for not uploading like I usually do. I'm taking my time to write these chapters, so they don't feel rushed. That and school has been a pain in my ass.)
