ENZUK POV
I observed the human walking away from the man who held a gun, commonly referred to as Black. The name had been mentioned by the female several times before. As I curled my tail, my gaze followed her petite figure, pausing momentarily on her swaying hips. A strange sensation tightened within me. For a human, she wasn't entirely unattractive, although a bit more flesh on her bones wouldn't hurt.
Just as she was about to depart, I overheard her instruct Black to keep the lights dim. I understood his reluctance, and I couldn't blame him. Despite being a weak human, he possessed enough intelligence to remember that we were in the midst of a war. It was clear that the female human had a desire to study me up close, and she was willing to appease me in order to do so. She had taken the first step by offering me water, a move that puzzled me. After all, who would bring water to an enemy they intended to eliminate?
I could sense her fear as she cautiously handled the water, passing it through the transfer box. Despite her apprehension, she chose to stay by my side, a fact that I reluctantly admired. Her actions intrigued me, piquing my curiosity.
Initially, I was skeptical of the water she offered. I found myself scrutinizing it, doubting its purity. However, I reasoned that since she was so desperate to gain my favor, she wouldn't taint it with poison. No, her intention was simply to please me, perhaps even earn my trust. If only she knew how futile her efforts were. I could never trust a human, as they had proven themselves untrustworthy time and again. It was almost comical that she believed we could strike a deal. I couldn't help but snicker at the thought. Humans were the last species I would consider making any kind of agreement with. At best, these new female humans were easily manipulated and used for physical pleasure. Beyond that, I failed to see their purpose. Humans, as a whole, were inherently deceitful, only keeping their promises when it suited them.
Even if she appeared sincere, I knew from personal experience that humans were prone to forgetting the promises they made once they obtained what they desired. Therefore, I had no intention of answering her questions unless my own desires were fulfilled first. She had promised me two things: food and dim lighting, which I had no intention of turning down. A smile crept across my face. If she was willing to go to great lengths to please me, I saw no reason to stop her. The control and power it granted me over her were satisfying. Additionally, it pleased me to see how it infuriated the other male humans. They should be aware that one of their own was groveling before me, acknowledging my superiority.
To be completely honest, I wasn't particularly inclined to engage in conversation with her or entertain her inquiries. However, her eagerness to connect with me was so intense that it became almost comically difficult to turn her away. It was evident that the male individuals around us were displeased with her actions of serving me water and attending to my needs, as if I were her superior. Yet, strangely enough, no one intervened to stop her. It was quite intriguing. I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't intervene.
There was a moment where I doubted she would comply with my requests. I expected someone to intervene and bring an end to our conversation, perhaps even reprimand her for her behavior. However, she cleverly always managed to get her way, even in the face of opposition. While I found her cunning tactics fascinating, I couldn't help but acknowledge that the male individuals were justified in their attempts to prevent her actions. Nevertheless, she persisted in serving me and fulfilling my desires, all for the sake of a simple conversation. It was no wonder that this species was on the brink of extinction. The females seemed to lack a sense of their place, and the males were too afraid to assert their authority. She would be an easy target for manipulation. I couldn't help but smirk at the thought. I never thought I would forget the way her eyes lit up and sparkled the moment she heard my voice for the first time. The feeling inside me tightened as her hazel eyes gazed up at me in awe. I had to resist the urge to chuckle at how much a few simple words from me fascinated her. She resembled a young child in that moment.
I was well aware of the sociable nature of humans, but little did I know that my mere voice would evoke such a profound excitement in her. It was as if an overwhelming wave of happiness engulfed her, and I couldn't help but notice the rapid acceleration of her heartbeat. The rhythmic thumping resembled the frantic pulse of my prey just moments before I pounced on it, ready to claim my victory. The temptation to break through the barrier of glass and grasp her delicate throat, feeling the pulsating beat beneath my fingertips, was almost irresistible. It would have been effortless to free myself from this confinement, but doing so would have jeopardized my carefully maintained disguise and mission.
Nonetheless, this situation made me ponder. What other actions could I manipulate her into performing, simply by uttering a few words? Perhaps I could discover alternative methods to make her beg for my attention in the presence of other male humans. The thought brought a sly smile to my face. Two things became abundantly clear to me. Firstly, she possessed a gullible and seemingly innocent nature. And secondly, there was an undeniable fire burning within her.
However, if she were to willingly offer me her devotion, providing me with sustenance and hydration, I would not pass up the opportunity to maintain my strength. It was crucial that I remained at the peak of my power when the time came to launch my attack and ultimately bring an end to this absurd conflict. Although these new humans perished swiftly, I still had to exercise caution. They were descendants of a cunning and violent lineage, and in many ways, this new human race retained remnants of their ancient traits, despite their diminished physical capabilities.
As my thoughts wandered, I found myself reminiscing about the very first human we had captured from Earth. Uncertainty filled our minds as we pondered what this new generation of humans would bring. All we had to go on was the knowledge that this individual was undeniably a descendant of the ancient humans who once roamed the Earth. With each passing moment, our curiosity grew, and we eagerly awaited the unfolding of this unprecedented encounter.
Past:
Seated in a transparent, reinforced cell, the female human emitted a fierce, angry glare as our scientists observed her. She tightly wrapped her arms around her legs, pressing them firmly against her bare chest. Initially, upon her arrival, she displayed fear, docility, and silence. However, it didn't take long for her to begin seeking ways to escape her confinement. Normally, I found being in the labs unpleasant. The scent of humans was not particularly pleasing to my senses. However, this time, my curiosity was piqued when I learned about the new breed of humans that now inhabited Earth, and my interest grew even more when our people managed to capture one of them during a scouting mission.
A smirk formed on my face as I gazed at the feeble human. I reasoned that this new breed would be even easier to eradicate. Suddenly, a hand slapped my shoulder, and I instantly recognized the scent of my good friend, Nuth.
"So, anything noteworthy about this new breed of humans? I must admit, it's been a long time since I last saw a human. Not since the ancient wars," Nuth inquired.
"Nothing remarkable. The one they brought in is weak. I assume they are all similar, but further study is planned for this new generation of humans. The last thing we need is another battle over Earth," I replied.
"Why is she sitting like that?"
I glanced back at the human. "I don't know. She assumed that position when her... outer garments were removed."
"Oh, how peculiar. I don't recall the old humans behaving in such a manner. Is she concealing something?" Nuth wondered.
"I don't think so," I said with a smirk.
Nuth narrowed his eyes. "She's so tiny, like a child. Are they all like that now?"
I shrugged. "I'm not sure. I believe she's fully grown, but she resembles the ancient humans in a highly de-evolved way."
As the scientists left the room, Nuth grinned at me. "Hmm, I want a closer look."
I raised an eyebrow at him. "We still don't know what they're capable of."
"Just a quick peek," Nuth insisted. He stepped forward towards the girl in the small enclosure, smiling as he tapped the reinforced glass with the sharp tip of his claw. The human immediately bared her teeth, as if she were a wild animal. Nuth chuckled. "Wow, did you see that? She doesn't have any real teeth." The human furrowed her forehead and tilted her head, perhaps thinking he was talking to her, although she couldn't possibly understand our language. I nodded. "Should I show her what real teeth look like?" he smirked. Before I could answer, Nuth flashed his sharp teeth at her, causing her to quickly retreat as far back as possible. "Small and defenseless," Nuth muttered.
I chuckled as Nuth began teasing the frightened human by appearing wherever she tried to hide. Whether she moved to one side of her enclosure or tried to escape, Nuth would swiftly follow her. This seemed to greatly unsettle her, evident by her accelerated heart rate. Were these new humans truly so delicate and vulnerable?
"Nuth," I cautioned, "Come on, stop. She's meant to be observed. The scientists won't be pleased if you interfere with her."
The human whimpered as Nuth's breath fogged up the glass. "I thought you were tough," he taunted her.
His words only added to her confusion and distress, as her eyes darted across his face. Nuth quickly retreated and stood by my side as soon as he heard the scientists returning from their discussion.
I smirked as he playfully grinned. "She smells peculiar," he whispered. "Not necessarily bad, but different. A sweet yet sour scent. I can't quite put my finger on it."
"I don't think they've cleaned her yet."
"Hmm, I don't think that's it," Nuth tilted his head. "What do they intend to do with her?"
"My guess is they'll conduct tests to understand what we're dealing with."
"No. I mean afterward."
"You mean if she survives the testing and experimentation?"
"I suppose. I can't comprehend why they would-"
"They'll likely dissect her. We still don't know the capabilities of these new humans."
"But they have the technology to scan her. They don't need to dismantle her."
"I'm not sure. I suppose we leave that decision to them."
"I wonder if they can be domesticated."
"Who? The new breed of humans?" Nuth nodded. I placed my hand on his shoulder and guided him to a corner. "What do you mean?"
"Well, these new humans don't appear to be as aggressive. Look at the one we captured. She's more like... a kind of companion.
I gave him a puzzled look. "Don't be absurd. She's a killer, just like her ancestors. She may not currently possess the ability to kill, but if given the chance, she would. Those instincts are still within her. Don't let the council hear you talking like this. Humans can never be trusted, regardless of their level of evolution. You know this."
One of the scientists cautiously approached the door to the enclosure where the human was held captive, while another scientist stood by, clutching a collar in their hand. The human, filled with fear, instinctively retreated as far back as possible, seeking refuge from the impending danger. Witnessing her vulnerability, a sense of pity momentarily washed over me, but I couldn't ignore the harsh reality of what humans were truly capable of.
Gradually, the back wall of the female's enclosure began to move forward, relentlessly pushing her closer and closer to the opening. It was a sinister mechanism designed to subject her to the torment of an electric collar. Desperately, she squirmed and attempted to crawl away, but her efforts were swiftly thwarted as the scientist effortlessly seized her petite frame and securely fastened the collar around her neck.
In that moment, she appeared as if she wanted to resist, to fight against her captors. She scratched and clawed at the scientist's hand, hoping to break free from their grasp, but it was futile. It was as if these new breed of humans possessed no innate defense mechanisms. One of the scientists attempted to calm her by gently stroking the top of her head, but instead of finding solace, it only seemed to further incense her. The rest of the scientists couldn't help but chuckle softly at her futile attempts to escape.
She threw her body in every possible direction, desperately trying to break free from the clutches of her captor, but once again, her struggles proved fruitless. The scientist who held her captive retrieved a remote control from his coat pocket and pressed a button. In an instant, her eyes widened with terror as she let out a sharp yelp of pain.
With fear gripping her, she tightly wrapped her hands around her own neck, desperately scratching at the collar that confined her. The scientist, who had a firm grip on her, couldn't help but chuckle once more. He finally released his hold, allowing her to jump out of his arms and retreat back into the safety of her enclosure. Trembling and filled with a primal instinct, she huddled in a corner, resembling a wild and deranged creature.
"See?" Nuth smiled at me. "Harmless. I'll bet with the right incentive and training, she could be a sort of tamed companion."
My head jerked toward him with narrowed eyes. "Nuth. Don't go getting any ideas. We still don't know enough about them. It's best if we keep our distance. And when the time comes, wipe them out."
"Oh, Enzuk, this creature here is clearly nothing like the ancient humans. Look at her. She's terrified. She's not even seeking to defend herself. Well. I mean she tried, but it can be argued that it was self-defense, not violence."
"You've been spending too much time in the labs. Don't forget what her ancestors did to ours. We don't know enough about them yet to draw any sort of conclusion. For all we know, she might just be waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike."
Nuth laughed. "Strike with what? Her nonexistent teeth or claws? Scary."
I glanced back at the human. She was cowered in the corner of her enclosure, as the scientist pulled up scans of her body on large screens. The scientist holding the remote pressed a button, which caused the human to throw herself to the bottom of her cell, gasping for air. Instead of ceasing the pain, the scientists studied her, as they mumbled to each other and took notes on her reactions to it.
When the pain finally stopped, she started to cry.
"Oh yeah, she's definitely a killer," Nuth mumbled. I could tell he was trying to trigger some sort of pity or emotion from me. And in a small way, Nuth wasn't wrong. We could both see this new type of human was less threatening. But that didn't mean they didn't carry the same devious traits.
"Maybe she's a less advanced version or something. I'm sure they plan to arrange further missions to collect more. We can't assume the whole species is like this."
The female's fiery eyes landed on me. She glared at me before she was shocked again.
Back to the present:
With a smile on my face, I reminisced about the moment I witnessed that same fiery determination in the female scientist's eyes. It was the moment when I casually suggested that she would make an excellent pet or pleasure slave. As it turned out, Nuth was right about that initial human. She proved to be an exceptional pet and pleasure slave, capturing the heart of Nuth, who was the first person who laid hands on her. Of course, this was after we had gathered numerous other humans from Earth.
Among the captured humans, some were fortunate enough to become pets, while others met their demise during our experiments. The majority of these humans were deemed violent, while a few possessed submissive qualities that made them suitable for training and ownership as pets.
However, despite all this, it became increasingly evident that these humans lacked the ability to fight and defend themselves. Regardless of their internal aggression, they relied on external means such as weapons and poisons. They possessed a moderate level of intelligence, but their technological advancements were far inferior to ours.
To my surprise, they managed to develop a serum to protect themselves from the creatures we unleashed upon Earth. These creatures had decimated a significant portion of the human population. This particular female scientist, Swan, successfully concocted a serum that targeted their respiratory system. This revelation prompted us to pause our attack. We were intrigued to discover what other weapons the humans had in their arsenal, as we wanted to avoid any unforeseen surprises involving deadly toxins. While eradicating these humans would be a straightforward task, losing even a single member of our own to their tactics was simply unacceptable.
My assigned task? Eliminate this female scientist when the opportune moment arises. She had already been deemed guilty by my people, without any mercy or fair trial. In my mind, she deserved nothing less than death. A smirk played on my lips as I contemplated the idea. Perhaps she would serve as an intriguing plaything, albeit for a limited time. It wouldn't be difficult to overpower her, considering her inherent weakness. However, what fascinated me was her unyielding spirit, her tenacity, and her fiery determination. The thought of observing her struggle to maintain control, futilely attempting to protect herself from me, filled me with a sense of amusement. To be honest, despite her fragility, she possessed an unexpected amount of fight within her. She was fortunate that we were not on my home planet, where many of my kind would have taken pleasure in teaching her a painful lesson as a form of entertainment. She had no comprehension of the torment my race was capable of inflicting upon her. I had witnessed humans being tortured and used for pleasure, with very few surviving such ordeals. Especially now, with the human race being so diminished and feeble compared to what they once were.
The notion of owning a human as a pet had never appealed to me. Occasionally, I would utilize them to satisfy my sexual desires, but for the most part, I preferred to keep my distance. My experiences in past wars had shaped my perspective on humans, and it hadn't changed much over time. However, that didn't mean I lacked the ability to dominate and train a human if I so desired. I was confident that I possessed the capability to do so.
Yet, this female scientist seemed to constantly challenge me, attempting to put me in my place or issuing threats. It was she who needed to exercise caution, not me. Had we been on my planet, her audacious words would have resulted in severe consequences, such as the removal of her tongue. If I had my way, I would make her understand that no human should ever dare to speak so boldly.
I found it rather peculiar that she continuously emphasized the importance of peace and sought some form of compromise. It was unexpected, especially considering the aggressive nature displayed by the rest of her species. Admittedly, our species didn't exactly provide her species with a choice, but still, the humans had shown no signs of backing down and even managed to fend off our attacks, albeit with little success.
Despite her personal desire for peace, her species seemed determined to engage in warfare. This raised questions in my mind. Why was she developing deadly serums if her goal was to win the war? So, why was she so invested in finding ways to achieve peace? Was it her way of indicating that the human race had given up on fighting? Perhaps they were merely attempting to defend themselves from our relentless attacks. Could she be implying that compromise was the only option the humans had left to offer?
If that were indeed the case, I could proceed with signaling the attack and return to my planet. However, I needed to be absolutely certain. The last thing I wanted was a failed attack, as losing even a single member of my species to these humans was absolutely unacceptable. I would not initiate the attack until I was completely confident that we could annihilate them swiftly and decisively. I had learned from past wars not to underestimate the human race, as they always seemed to possess hidden strengths or strategies.
I found it intriguing to engage in further conversation with her, but only under my own conditions. If I could control the direction of the questioning, I saw no harm in engaging with her. Moreover, it would allow me to closely observe her every move. The longer she remained in my presence, the less time she would have to devise weapons, and the closer I would be to signaling an attack and finally escaping from this absurd confinement.
In addition, I realized that while conversing with her, I could potentially extract valuable information if I approached my inquiries strategically. Although it would be irritating to lower myself in such a manner, the potential gain of obtaining the necessary information made it worthwhile to play dumb in some cases.
I possessed fluency and eloquence in all Earth languages, having had countless centuries to master them. It amused me how these humans perceived me as primitive. I scoffed at their ignorance, as it seemed to be a common trait among them to belittle anything new. However, this perception worked in my favor.
Engaging in conversation with this human might just prove advantageous for me. The only aspect that truly bothered me, aside from her repetitive questions, was her captivating scent. She emitted a fragrance reminiscent of fresh nectar, and with each movement she made, I found myself irresistibly drawn to inhale her aroma. It was addictive, enticing, and made me desire to sink my teeth into her and savor her sweetness.
I had already experienced the intoxicating taste of her blood once before, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of guilt over how sinfully delicious it was. On my planet, humans were considered a viable food source, and I must admit that I had given in to my primal instincts on a few occasions. Now, with her being so close to me once again, it would be a constant struggle to resist the urge to attack her. However, it wasn't a desire to consume or devour her that overwhelmed me, but rather an intense longing to be enveloped in her captivating scent. It was like a drug, an irresistible temptation to be inside her and consume her essence from within.
Her scent was undeniably potent, making it effortless for me to locate her at any given moment. She belonged to me, and I, in turn, would become her worst nightmare. Soon enough, she would come to realize the depth of that truth.
