Summary: Like a supernova, Kagome was a definitive force in the making. Very few people know of her ties to Gojo, but the uncanny likeness only grows stronger with each passing day. He'd continue to nurture her so she could grow to stand alongside him, but it would seem that others have very different plans for his sister. It's only a matter of time until her true potential is awakened.

Pairing: Undecided.

Disclaimer: I do not own either series. Each belongs to their rightful owners.

Prologue

The air around the pair was stale, but the younger girl didn't seem phased by it. Beneath it all, the discerning trace of her cursed energy remained. It saturated the interior almost entirely. What once had been a foreboding sense had turned soothing, if he was to be asked. A seal of dormancy, a seal created by her power.

Undeniably strong, but it was still soothing.

"Haa…" She sighed and shook her head. The noise called his attention back to her, and she turned on her heel the following second. "It's not perfect, but it's better than this thing being left alone for who knows what to use…" she muttered. She folded her arms, a small pout lining rosy-pink lips. "It's so annoying…"

Her expression, paired with her words, made him chuckle. "I think you've done well, Mochi."

Kagome rolled her eyes at the nickname. "At the very least, if this thing is broken, I'll have a way to know before things get out of hand."

She knew it wasn't her responsibility anymore, but she couldn't help but cling to it out of her worry. Maybe it was just due to her inability to let go of the past, or maybe…- Her attention returned to the well- its current status is a state of ruin.

The four sides had collapsed, leaving it in an irreparable state. Looking at it now filled her with a type of sorrow she'd never felt before. The last time she returned through it had been the cause of its broken state. Energy too powerful to suppress erupted from it, causing it to fall in on itself. As it was, she had barely been able to return.

Her pout shifted to a frown. She shook her head.

"I just hope it never comes to that."

"If I were you, I'd just destroy it and get it over with," the older man with her responded with a shrug of his shoulders. His hair, white and short, heavily accented the brilliant dimensions reflected in dazzling blue eyes hidden by the blindfold he wore. She glanced at him at the comment.

"I can't do that, Satoru-nii," Kagome responded, letting her hands fall to rest on her hips. "You better not, either!" He grinned at her and waved a hand to reassure her that she had nothing to worry about.

"What? Who, me?" he said, his grin never faltering. "I'd never dream of it, Mochi~!"

She rolled her eyes and walked around him. "Oh, forgive me for not trusting you," she retorted, tone flat.

"Yeah, I'm quite offended!" he responded. She paused and glanced at him, arching a brow when he didn't even bother to erase the grin from his face to play at being offended.

"It's not the first time you've suggested it," she stated with a mild glare. "You've always been open about the idea." From the moment she first returned, it'd been his primary idea about dealing with it. He didn't, merely due to the fact he wanted to humor her.

He shrugged, not dissuaded by her very factual comments. "It's just called me being worried about you," he responded.

She shook her head and merely opted to brush the conversation off. She was the first to exit the rundown well house, pausing and waiting for him to follow her. The setting sun was almost gone past the horizon.

"Weren't you going to check in with Megumi and the missing cursed object?" she asked once they'd gotten halfway down the shrine steps, quickly recalling the primary reason he'd opted to join her in her check-in with the status of the collapsing well.

"The elders are the ones going mad about it," he responded with a shrug. He matched her pace going down the steps. "I'll check in eventually, but we can give him a little bit longer to sort it out on his own."

Kagome's expression fell flat. "If not doing that, then what are we gonna do?" she asked. He hummed in response.

"Hmm, I certainly wonder…"

She wanted to be surprised- she did, really, but his plans for the evening had the opposite effect on her.

While he was busy talking to the vendor at Kikusian, she had hung back. It was a few minutes of undisturbed peace before she felt it. A familiar aura burned at her senses, a much more welcome one accompanying it. Her neutral expression shifted into a frown as she pushed herself away from the streetlight she'd been leaning on. She spared a glance at her companion. He hadn't seemed bothered by the approaching aura, but that didn't mean he hadn't felt its presence. After all… he knew just as well as her about it.

Kagome didn't bother to wait for him as she turned and made her way to where he was waiting. Her departure had been noticed by Gojo, who she was aware had turned to watch her as she got further away. She could feel him observing her, just as she could see him doing so.

Still, he didn't seem concerned about it. Soon enough, he'd turned back to what he was doing. That didn't mean he'd stopped watching her, however. She knew very well he always had sight on her.

"Long time no see!" Kagome remarked as she came to a halt in front of the figure that'd been waiting for her to show up. Golden eyes observed her at first, a second later he nodded in agreement.

"It has been quite some time, hasn't it?" he responded in a smooth, monotone drawl. "You've gotten far stronger since the last time I've seen you," he remarked in observation. Kagome tilted her head to the side, letting a smile rise to claim her expression a moment later.

"You think so? Really?" she asked. "I've been trying hard," she admitted.

Her efforts were noticeable.

"I'd ask what'd brought you here, but…" she trailed off, body tensing slightly as she looked to the ground. "I can feel why you're here."

It was something she'd never been able to fully disconnect from her, after all.

"So, you've never been able to sever the connection?"

Kagome shook her head, a small frown flashing across her face. "No," she stated. "Not yet, at least."

One day, if everything went as planned, then maybe…-

Her hand went up to grip the fractured chuck of the jewel in her possession. It was missing ten of the shards. Her attempt to get rid of it had resulted in it exploding apart. This time, at least, the cursed fragments were sealed by the remnant of her energy found within them. Once it became whole again, then she'd have to deal with it, but until that moment came, she didn't have much to worry about if they fell into the hands of someone else.

"I've recovered this one before a jeweler could make it into a piece," Sesshoumaru commented, holding out the large fragment of the jewel. Kagome smiled and took the offered piece. She fused it back with the part in her possession.

"Thank you," she said. He didn't have any reason to do it, but she was still grateful that he'd bothered. Now, the jewel was a little bit closer to its whole state.

"Mochi, there you are!"

The familiar voice of Gojo made her turn. Sesshoumaru glanced at him, observing silently as the blindfolded man came up to her side. His arm went around her shoulders, tugging her close in an unspoken warning. He was smiling as he spoke to her, but the air around him was cold when he turned his way.

"Oh?" Gojo hummed. "A friend, I take it?"

Kagome knew what he was getting at, and she sighed. "Don't worry about it," she stated in a flat tone. A second later, she glanced back to Sesshoumaru. "Thanks, again," she said, letting her smile return for a moment.

"I'm merely returning what's yours," he remarked, turning to depart the following second. "If I come across another, I'll be sure to return it."

Kagome nodded and waved to him as he left. "Bye-bye!" she called. "See you around."

There was no telling when he might show up next, but she'd be keeping an eye out for him.

Soon enough, it was just the two of them left standing there. Before she could duck out of his grasp, he held the back in his opposite hand up.

"Strawberry, right?" he asked. Kagome cocked her head to the side in confusion.

"Huh?"

"It's your favorite still, right?" Gojo asked. She caught onto what he meant by it, and she nodded.

"Oh… yeah," she stated. "Thanks!"

"Anytime," he responded, moving to pat her hair back down. "Now that we're done with this business, let's go check in with Megumi."

Auroua-chan: I really like the sibling dynamic between Gojo and Kagome. It works well for them.

The jewel's in a weird state. It's fractured again, but at least the shards are dormant. Something will happen when the thing is whole again! Gojo doesn't seem fond of Kagome's demon companions, but it might just be a front and he might warm up if they hang around some. You never know~

The pairing is undecided at the moment.

Anyway, that's it for now! Thank you for reading and I hope you all enjoyed! Hopefully I caught all the errors before posting, but if not sorry.

Please remember to Review&Favorite&Follow, thank you!

Bye for now~
