"I told you. Do not hurt her, what did you do?" Ino asked the Copy Nin that refuse to look at her. "I ask you one thing, sensei, and this is how you're going to do it? You promised me you'll never hurt her!"
"Ino, she's 21. She can move on." Kakashi simply said. "She'll forget this. She'll forget me. Especially since I'm going on a long-term mission."
"So that's it? You'll just leave?" Ino asked. "Some jonin you are." Ino left after saying that, but she made sure that her contempt is clear.
Ino's anger and disappointment were palpable as she left Kakashi's presence. She couldn't believe that he had abandoned Sakura in such a callous manner, especially after their shared history and the promises he had made to Ino. She knew that Sakura was hurting, and Kakashi's actions had only deepened her friend's pain.
Kakashi rubbed his hands in his face. He doesn't blame Ino for being angry. She's absolutely right, he did hurt Sakura. But not because the war ended, it doesn't mean that being shinobi is no longer deadly. And as for him, his missions just got deadlier; he saw how the war and death of her peers did to her, he will not be another name in the stone that she will mourn for.
Kakashi's internal struggle weighed heavily on him as he grappled with the decision he had made. He had chosen to walk away from Sakura to protect her from the dangers of his ongoing missions, but he couldn't deny the pain and confusion he had caused her. He knew that Ino's anger was justified, and he felt a deep sense of remorse for the hurt he had inflicted on Sakura.
As Kakashi continued to reflect on his actions, he also knew that he had a responsibility to communicate with Sakura and attempt to explain his reasons. He couldn't leave her in the dark, feeling abandoned and betrayed. With a heavy heart, he resolved to have a difficult conversation with Sakura, one where he would try to convey the depth of his concern for her safety.
Meanwhile, Ino's anger and concern for her friend remained undiminished. She knew that Sakura needed support and care during this trying time, and she was determined to be there for her. But when she opened Sakura's door, she was meant by... silence.
Just pure silence.
