Okay, after a shitmillion years, the first chapter of the rewrite is up - Witt and Redux. It's been difficult getting this far but I'm happy with the planning + direction, and infinitely thankful for the One Piece Live Action and a very dear friend both lighting fires under my ass to get this project materialized in time.
It'll be a bit more serious than the OG, but I'll be maintaining as many of the jokes and bits from the original as possible in some form, while also bringing in the skills I've polished as a writer since then. It doesn't mean that I'm going to be discontinuing Shuffle Odyssey, but the projects will alternate because they're both difficult in their own ways and I do dabble in other fandoms from time to time and have Adult Responsibilities (like oil changes and groceries and shit).
Even if you're not interested in the rewrite, I do appreciate those of you who have enjoyed this story over the ten years that it's been up, because even if some part of this fic are a bit embarrassing to me now, the positive feedback and love people have given to it have helped me to grow as an artist and learn that, even if something of mine has imperfections, people still can love and appreciate it on its own merits. It's that fact that helped me grow past the 'destroy all the evidence, we can't let people know we've been cringe' era of my life, where all it took was a reminder of something old to go and do a purge of old art/fic that was no longer 'cool'.
It will remain up as long as this site will exist, and in the event that the warnings about FFnet's sinking ship are true, it'll continue to be up on Ao3 as well. Thank you for your support and readership.
