Geryuganshoop stood up slowly, the adrenaline going down from the near death experience. As he caught his breath, he looked at his wounds. They ached and stung, with blood slowly pouring onto his skin, but it was certainly not unbearable. He walked over to his room and wrapped himself in more bandages, feeling more at appease as the pain started to dissipate under the medication Boros described a few days ago. His room had been destroyed, the remnants of his pillows and blankets scattered across the floor. Fortunately it didn't cross his mind, nor did the need to report this to Morphis or have this documented. His brain desperately needed the time to breathe- not to think. He begrudgingly got into bed and sighed.
Finally, some rest.
Before Geryuganshoop could close his eyes. A rippling shockwave was felt as something hurled across the halls far beyond the speeds at which he could react. His eyes widened as he instinctively placed a force field around his body, protecting himself from any potential damages. The force was undeniable, shaking the ship with an unmistakable force that couldn't be considered as anything other than Boros herself.
Asriel's body tumbled as she crashed into a wall. All 5 fingers crumpled over like a lawn chair, spilling drops of blood onto her thighs. Her arm was twisted in an unnatural way, covered in cuts and bruises. Her teeth were knocked right out, spilling onto the floor.
It wall all from one punch.
Before the teeth could make contact with the floor, she darted out of the way to avoid a devastating punch from Boros. Boros' fist did not even make contact with the wall, yet the wall still crumpled at the sheer force of the swing. Asriel roared as she kicked the back of Boros' head, causing the cyclopes to look at her in an almost teasing way.
"So, what was your plan?" She calmly asks as she grabs Asriel by the ankle. The grip tightened slightly, shattering the bones within it.
Asriel yelled as the pain ran down her leg, but it was short lived as a surplus of strength gave her the ability to kick Boros' hand off with her other leg. The energy slowly healed her broken arm, giving it enough strength to parry Boros' next punch.
"What do you think dumbass?!" Asriel retorted, launching her fist into a potential vital point on Boros' side, but it was blocked.
The two briefly traded punches, until Boros smacked Asriel into the nearest wall. "It seems ineffective. Now are you going to beg for mercy or will you lose all of your teeth before that?"
Boros winded up for another simple punch, but to her surprise Asriel caught it. Asriel struggled to match it, but she smirked, revealing a full row of teeth. "Yeah, I'll beg for you to live long enough to see me kill that bitch of an octopus after I'm done with you."
The comment made Boros' blood boil, but in a surprising show of speed, Asriel slashed at the eye under Boros' chest, causing a small injury.
The real fight had begun. There was no holding back now.
Boros then sent a barrage of attacks to Asriel, but the first punch was parried, allowing Asriel the opportunity to tackle Boros into another hallway of the ship. The two of them zipped around the ship, clashing and fighting. Asriel was creating minor injuries onto Boros, while the latter threatened to punch her head off with a clean hit. Asriel breathed steadily as an attack grazed her. She had to keep this perfect balance. If Boros hit her in the chest or face, she'd be dead. If an attack hit her legs, she'd fall onto the floor, not be able to heal in time, and she'd be dead. The attack had to graze her just enough to give her energy to speed up, because if not...Boros will get that one hit.
Boros kept darting around in tandem with Asriel, throwing and blocking punches. Her dark blue skin had no significant injuries, but she wasn't really dealing much to Asriel. It was an aggravating stalemate, one that lacked the satisfaction of seeing Asriel dead in her grip. Boros roared as she got a hit on Asriel, hearing the bones snap made her grin. Asriel crashed through a few walls, but quickly recovered before Boros could launch herself at her. Thinking quickly Asriel got ready to misdirect a punch.
As Boros zipped past Asriel, Boros' attack would get parried, grazing Asriel and clobbering Boros in the face. The impact stung, causing her to fall back and wipe her nose. Asriel followed up with a barrage that caught Boros off guard. She was getting stronger. Asriel's attacks started doing more damage, and when Boros punched her, instead of getting parried, the attack was blocked. A cocky grin was on Asriel's face as she slashed at Boros, using her superior combat to bloody up Boros' skin. Slash, after slash, after slash. Even if Boros healed, Asriel was quick enough to land another attack. Boros would land an occasional hit, but it only strengthened Asriel's resolve.
"So, what's your plan?" hissed Asriel.
Boros blocked a punch before punching Asriel in the face. "Kill yourself!"
Asriel grabbed her jaw in pain before landing an equally devastating attack on Boros. "Ha! How does it feel?!"
She landed another punch on Boros again. "How does it feel to bleed?" And then another. "How does it feel to know that every one you love, the little there are, is going to die because your war hungry bull crap got you here?" And then another. "Huh?! TELL ME!" And then another. "WHY DID YOU KILL ALL OF THEM?!" And then another. "WHY DID YOU KILL HIM?!"
The next punch knocked. Boros onto the ground, spitting up a lot of blood. The hallway grew quiet as Asriel awaited a response. There was heavy breaths coming from both combatants. Boros was on her side, her eye deep in thought. She still had a lot of energy left, but Asriel was becoming more durable. If this kept going, she might have to enter her Meteoric Burst form, and this time she won't be cocky. She just needed time.
"To be honest..." Boros began, concentrating on her body, "It's been so long since I had a fight. I just...I just wanted to feel something. Pain, fear, joy, anything really. That's why I killed them, all of them. It was something that happened to make every second go by a little faster. I just...needed it. Whether it was justifiable or not is obvious to you. For me it was a means to an end. A way to live instead of surviving. If I found the right person to withstand my attacks, maybe I can live in a world where I can be happy."
Asriel growled, priming her claws as she walked up to Boros. "And that day will never come."
Boros was about to transform into her Meteoric Burst form when an attack hit Asriel in the back of the head, causing her to turn her head.
"Asriel, you need to stop," muttered the voice.
Asriel turned her head and chuckled. "Really? Who do you think you are?"
The alien walked into view, revealing Morphis. He walked until he was around 50 feet from them. Close behind was Geryuganshoop, glancing over to Morphis assuringly.
"You're friend," he whispered. "Look, when I talked about this to you, I hoped that one day everything could be settled in a peaceful way. I...uh...didn't expect this..."
Asriel slowly walked towards them. Geryuganshoop's eyes widened as he tried to slow her down. It wasn't that effective, making each step only last a little bit longer.
"Please, I know what Boros did...but we can at least forgive them. They're willing to be nice to me, and maybe they can be nice to you if you just calm down."
Asriel kept walking. Geryuganshoop glanced down at Morphis. "She's getting closer. The plan isn't sufficiently working," Geryuganshoop silently spat out.
Morphis gulped and walked over to Asriel. "Asriel. I don't know why you're doing this, but whatever it is, it's past us. We can't really change that...so it would be better to instead learn and move on."
Morphis looked at Asriel, their bodies in arm's reach of each other. Geryuganshoop was sweating immensely as Asriel put her hand on Morphis' shoulder. There was a silence in the room, one that was only interrupted by the humming sounds of the machine. Asriel leaned towards him, mouth close to his ears.
She slowly whispered to him, "Run. I don't want you to die."
Morphis shook his head. "No, I'm not. Can we just settle this over a drink? I know you're really mad, but maybe I...can make it less bad. Maybe we can have some Aquatic food?"
Asriel put a hand on her eyes and rubbed them softly chuckled, "Morphis, you know I fucking hate Aquatic food."
"Heh, yeah, but maybe you can learn to like it. Kind of like them," he whispered.
Asriel softly growls at him, "I'll never like them, especially after what she did."
"Asriel trust me. Whether it be for a week or even an hour, let me show you that they can be friends."
The warrior glances over Boros. Boros was standing, not in a combative way or in a battle ready stance, assisting Geryuganshoop. Geryuganshoop was standing similarly to her, albiet hunched over due to his injuries and a comedic amount of bandages. They were having some small talk, most likely assuring each other of their safety. It felt, peaceful, a little adorable, and almost eye opening...kind of like Namor. Crap. There was a heart, somewhere. It could be small or faint, but it exists more prominently now then ever before. Then maybe, just maybe, there could be a heart in her to, at least for them.
Asriel muttered out a few words, to which Morphis couldn't hear.
"Wait, can you repeat that? I couldn't he-"
"I said that I'll trust you, and that you have an hour. Do you want me to vomit it out for crying out loud?" She jokingly asked, causing Morphis to chuckle.
Big mistake. I'M TAKING YOUR POWERS AWAY.
Before anyone could breath a sigh of relief, Asriel was no longer Asriel. Her body slumped over, collapsing into a cloud. Her body was dust, nothing but a mere thing in the wind to cough at, and there was nothing left, but a small pile of dust.
