Ben and Moka were walking back towards the academy, honestly, Mokami was pretty much of the opinion of leaving the two stupid ogres where they landed and letting them deal with the pain and consequences on their own, Moka ever the sweet and kind person objected immediately to the mere notion of treating someone in such a brutal and uncaring manner.
Mokami apparently could talk through the pendant that Moka was wearing and she argued that those two ogres wanted to kill her or do something even worse to her, any pain or physical injury would have gotten off light as far as she was concerned because if this had happened in front of their father, well their father would not be happy with any punishment that did not result in the death of those that dared to insult his family's honor at the very least or dared to harm his precious daughter.
Ben helped by carrying both the ogre siblings in his tetramand form, in truth this was barely a warm-up exercise for a tetramand warrior. Looma could probably carry these two and look like she is just carrying the day's clean laundry. Then again Looma Redwind was the very pinnacle of what a warrior of her kind was, which is why Ben secretly was happy that she had no way to find him now that he was a student at this college.
"Ben do you mind telling me if you get tired, I can help you carry those two if you need some help." Moka offered as she looked at Ben carrying an unconscious ogre on each shoulder. Ben was quick to remind her that as soon as they made it to the campus grounds, he would have to take his human form, so he would need her help carrying one of these two, he said he should carry Saizo and she could carry her sister. Moka asked why would that be such an important issue, Ben told her that this was to prevent future problems.
As they made it to the campus grounds Ben had to turn back to his human form but not before handing the unconscious body of Eizo, Ben explained that if he carried her to the school nurse's office and if someone saw that, they could immediately misinterpret this as him either doing something lewd to her or that he had a relationship with Eizo that simply did not exist, either of them could be seen as tarnishing her ogre pride and honor, she and more importantly her family would have gone and declared war on him and his entire family for far less than that.
"I may be your age Moka, but I've been around for quite some time so I am familiar with how old families and those that hold to the value of a warrior's code of honor behave." She was surprised but also secretly impressed so much so that she asked him since when has he been training to fight like that? Ben told her that he had been fighting against mighty opponents since he was in his early teens. Many of them still hate his guts profusely, but many of them became good friends and even mentors to him.
"Most people live in this world thinking the universe is always at peace, I know this to be a lie, I have been in wars that reach across planets, and dealt with calamities that could make stars collapse, so please Moka don't worry about me, compared to what I have faced and seen these two was no better than a schoolyard brawl. Instead, I would not mind sparing against you some other time, I noticed that you prefer to use kicks in your fighting, I happen to know several martial arts disciplines that are focused on kicking as the main method of attack."
Moka was quite happy to hear that Ben would be willing to share some of the things he knew with her, and even more so because if they did that in a private place, it could also be considered the same as a date. As soon as they told the nurse at the clinic what happened and placed both siblings on the bed they excused themselves, to let the nurse begin to treat the ogres who according to the nurse looked like they had been hit by a speeding out-of-control city bus. Moka wished him a good night as he reached the dormitory where the male students were assigned a room and lived. Ben did not notice that Moka was actually blushing a little bit as she walked to the building where her dorm room was.
He entered the dorm building only to meet the lady in charge of the building, who looked very unhappy, apparently, Ben was the only student who had not been given a key or told which room he was assigned. Ben did his best to explain that it was due to circumstances beyond his control, he almost wanted to say that he was sorry but apparently, he got lost on the road of life, but even he considered that anime line to be too much of a cliche to mention as she handed him the key and explained the dorm building rules and especially what would happen if he broke them.
Well the fact is that fighting ogres was not how he expected his first day to end, but it was a lot of fun, sort of reminded him of his fights against his former enemy Vilgax. The place where he lived however was absolute chaos in the morning, with every male student living in a single dormitory and each waking up in what could be expected, a foul mood. Even Ben understood this, you wake up hungry and realize your day is just about to get started just as people remember the fun dream they had.
He was however happy that he got the room to himself, the last thing he needed was to deal with some asshole who had no respect for either personal boundaries or personal property. His grandfather told him horror stories about roommates basically stealing from each other with little to no regard for what would happen to the person they stole from. Then again Ben has faced intergalactic horrors, and maniacal self-proclaimed overlords and that was in his early teens, Being a Plumber he came to realize the title was absolutely accurate, he was fixing problems and dealing with shit more times than many care to admit.
Honestly, the actions of those two were childish at best, and so immature and embarrassing at worst. He still remembered the lessons in hand-to-hand combat he got from many different people, that bounty hunter he became friends with was especially harsh, but his lessons were absolutely what he needed. Tetrax was a demanding and strict teacher, but he was also very efficient in teaching exactly what needed to be done and how to do it. Most people consider him to be cold and distant, but in reality, he was a very nice person and a great teacher if people simply got the chance to get to know him.
Just as Ben finished putting away everything in his room and unpacking all his clothes and belongings, he suddenly felt a bit hungry for some strange reason his stomach began to grumble, and he realized he was actually more hungry than he actually realized, he decided to go and see if he could get some dinner at the college cafeteria, as he walked out, he only wondered if they had any chili fries on the menu. He would call and talk to Azmuth about why he felt this hungry after that particularly nasty incident, but he was not going to do so on an empty stomach.
The college cafeteria looked more like a massive mall that had many different restaurants in one massive food court. They had foods of every nation, of any type, and of any diet. If he could think of the food, in this place he could get it, and what is worse unlike other restaurants the food had just the names on the menu but not how much the food would cost, making him wonder if the food was actually free. The place was clearly popular and given the fact he thought the food was free, it was not hard to imagine why this place was so popular. Those two ogres he fought before probably were people who ate a lot of meat and carb-rich foods.
The place had enough tables to have enough seats that if they placed them around the floor and in levels, the place had enough seats to make the place look like the indoor version of a baseball stadium. That is how massive this place was, but after hearing his stomach make a noise, he went to the food counter and saw the lady who was either working or was in charge of the place, he asked her if he could get chili fries she sadly said that they were out so he asks if he could have two steaks and a side order of liver and onions, she said she would be happy to get him the food, as long as he also took an order of a salad to go with it, saying she didn't want him to end up eating something that would not be considered a balanced diet.
Thanks to the fight, and the fact he had to carry both of his opponents to the clinic, he was particularly hungry for some reason, the shocking thing is the lady came back with a tray with all his food and she even added a slice of apple pie as a dessert. Ben asked her how could she get this much food ready so fast, or was the food just reheated stuff she already made the previous day, she smiled and told him that no she made it today, she was not only the campus nutritionist but she was also a time mage, so doing things fast was something not that difficult for her.
His main problem was finding a place where he could eat his meal, there were not many seats available, and the one that was was surrounded by women who apparently were having a heated argument about something. Ben was just done with the consequences of fighting those two ogres, and he did not look forward to getting involved in a fight that had little to nothing to do with him. He kept looking around the place trying to find where he could sit down and eat his food. If he didn't find any place at all, he would have to ask if there was any way for him to be allowed to take the food with him into his dorm room.
Even if they told him he couldn't he could simply store everything inside his inventory or storage ability, the ability would allow him to keep an infinite number of items and nothing would spoil or decay while inside it. That is when he saw one of the women that had been arguing wave her arm towards him telling him to come closer to the group. "No need to be afraid boyo, we are only talking about what we prefer as our favorite food, nothing to be worried about, we also have a chair here and a spot for you to eat your food, so there is no need to be shy, Patricia O'Callaghan, friends call me Patty, the girl next to me is Moira Hannigan, she is not going to cause you any problems, the two seated on the table nearby are Kuyo Kitsune, and right next to her is Kendra Touji."
Ben realized she was not actually kidding and sat down on the available see, and thanked them for letting him sit down and eat his meal, Moira was quite happy to see that unlike many other guys his age, this one had some manners, Kuyo asked him why was he eating such a heavy meal, Ben told her actually he has eaten much more than this before but after what happened to him and his friend, he needed to eat this much just to recover. Hearing this Kendra asked what exactly happened that made him feel this hungry, he quickly told them of the incident that happened against Saizo and Eizo, how they picked a fight with him and with a friend of his.
Kendra laughed and smiled, "Oh I know of those two, we went to the same high school, and apparently these two are still picking on students whom they think are weaker than they are, honestly they are such freaking bullies that they bring shame to people like them, you know we are not supposed to reveal our monster identities, but chances are you just beat up a pair of puffed up ogres. As a Jinko I happen to have a soft spot for strong young men myself, Patty here is a Leprechaun, Moira is a Dullahan, and Kuyo is a Kitsune as her family name clearly states. So mind telling me what kind of beefy monster are you."
Ben told her his family once had every known species of monster in his family bloodline if he were to call himself anything shapeshifter might be the closest thing since he had access to the powers and forms of all the different monster species that had become part of his family heritage. As he began to eat his food and marvel at the taste of it, he sort of hoped this was enough of an explanation, but couldn't help but laugh when he pictured a female version of his Raph transformation and wondered if Kendra would look like that.
One of the girls was so curious about his attempt to hide his laughter that she immediately asked him to be fair and if he thought of a good joke at least share it. He looked at Patty and began to shake his head, "Not much of a joke, not really, I am just remembering the lady that is married to my grandpa Max, but she rather be called my Aunt for some reason, I rather die than call her anything other than that. Honestly, I don't get it, she says calling her anything else makes her feel old, but to me, she is as beautiful as the way she looked in her wedding photo."
That is when someone he was not expecting began to laugh from behind him, Kuyo told him women tend to be very touchy about certain subjects. "That is true and Ben here should know that very well since this is not the first time I told him that, but I must at least acknowledge that he did attempt to do the right thing. As to why I am here I was called to come and meet with the dean of this place since they needed to speak with a family member of your Benjamin, so since I was the only one that could come I was the only one that could come and meet the dean."
Moira jumped at the chance and asked her if what Ben told them was true and if at one point in his lineage, his ancestors married and had children with every type of monster that has ever existed or is known to exist. She laughed as she saw the way Ben looked away in embarrassment and looked at the young woman who asked her this question. "Ben only told you the truth, and in fact yes, he is a shapeshifter, he can take any form of any monster that was his ancestor regardless of how far he is related to them. One of those monsters is in fact what I am, I am a person whose entire being is made of ether or mana, my people call ourselves anodites, and through the travels of my youth, eventually I met and married a man by the name of Max, and eventually our child became the parent of Benjamin here."
Kuyo being blunt said that essentially the only proper way to describe her relationship with Ben is that she is his grandmother, Kuyo said that Ben was trying very hard to prevent her from saying, "As I told Benjamin I do not like the way that makes me feel, so old, as punishment for not preventing that Benjamin, I shall tell these ladies something you never wanted any of them to hear, Benjamin here is in a very special program you see girls, he is meant to add new blood to the family you see, and the only way he can achieve that is by forming a harem, and that means he has to marry multiple women, or else he will be sent to a dark and miserable place that is where criminals are sent for the rest of his life. So you see girls he might not realize this, but I can smell the pheromones in the air, and I know you each want to possibly date or even marry Benjamin in the future, but now that I told you this, there is no reason at all for you to consider yourselves or other women as competition for his affections."
Ben felt what many other men who listened to this would feel, he was so embarrassed that he wanted to crawl into a hole and die from the sheer embarrassment his grandmother Verona had put him through, little did he know that other people were listening to this very conversation and had begun to rethink their approach and even strategy to deal with what Ben actually was. Verona walked over to Benjamin handed him a small disk and told him that Azmuth wanted to talk with him about something very important, so he should make sure to call him and talk with him as soon as possible.
His food was delicious, granted it sort of reminded him of his grandpa's cooking, it was at first a little weird to look at, but he and Gwen could not argue that it tasted a hell of a lot better than it looked. What lacked in appearance however more than made up for it in both taste and portion size. Max told him that many of the things he learned to cook he learned from other species across the universe when he was more active as a plumber. Wanting to avoid even more embarrassment he focused on his food wanting to avoid being asked questions as Verona kept humoring these girls by telling them some of the most embarrassing moments of his life, she even had baby pictures of him for some odd reason.
He was instead going over his class roster, remembering his fellow students, making sure that he paid attention to those that he felt would be important to him in some manner or form, the fact is he still remembered what happened in that fight, and he began to think of other alien forms he could have used but in an instant he felt his tetramand form would be the only appropriate one. Other forms would take care of his opponents but in contrast, were a lot more deadly to the ogres twins.
"So according to your aunty, growing up you were quite the little hearbreaker weren't you. Ben looked at Kuyo noticing the playful tone in her voice and simply said he made quite a few friends, and many of them just happened to be girls, but in his youth, he was more focused on staying alive than any notion of understanding romantic intentions, "I fought in battles against fiends, and other kinds of people with villainous plans and intents since I was in my early teens, to be honest I had no time for romance, or even notice it, never mind that it was only until recently that the potential for me to be in a harem became real, before it was absolutely illegal."
This made Kendra ask him what sorts of people he fought against, to which Ben simply told her everything from warlords to maniacal overlords. Verona laughed and said that would be an understatement, Benjamin was considered the defender of Earth for nearly a decade, and he had actually saved countless worlds in that time, it was something that made her very proud of him, to see that the apple didn't fall that far from the tree, since her husband Max was just as accomplished as Benjamin in more ways that one. Ben wanted to know how much longer was Verona going to keep getting him in more trouble, every person in the damn place had begun to listen to what they were talking about ever since she showed up.
"I may be the wife of Max Tennyson, but before we actually got married Max was quite the lady killer, some of his fellow plumbers used to joke and call him a galactic casanova. I of course fell in love with him and married him, my people value personal enjoyment and freedom to do what we want over almost everything else, but the idea that some other lady could end up married to Max scared me so much of losing him, that I married him as quickly as I could, not going to run the risk of someone taking my man from me."
Much to his shock of Ben upon hearing, many women who heard began to nod their heads in agreement, which only made Ben even more embarrassed than he already was. "So Auntie, besides giving me a message and checking up on me, is there anything else you came all the way here to tell me, and how did you get into this place without anybody noticing?" Verona began to giggle as she heard Ben say that and told him unlike him she had quite a long time to master the abilities and skills of her kind, so it was not difficult at all to simply appear where he was simply by focusing on his mana to act like a beacon. She apparently did have something very important to tell him, the fact that a certain someone apparently rushed her trip and arrived at his home faster than what Max and the other plumbers expected, she apparently felt something was wrong and pushed her ship to travel as fast as possible.
"That girlfriend of yours is sure a handful Benjamin, she arrived demanding to be able to speak with you, holding a giant mace in her hands, which made your folks very happy that you had left for this place sooner than what she was supposed to arrive, Looma was apparently not pleased about the fact you were placed in the harem plan. Which is even worse she apparently bribed someone to tell her this information, which should have been kept secret. Let's just say you do remember how you got engaged to her, well I expect you will spend time like that again next time you meet her."
Patricia and Kendra who the hell is this Looma person and what did he mean he was engaged with her, Ben was glaring at Verona when he heard them ask, ""Looma Redwind, is one of the mightiest warriors I know, she was engaged to a frenemy when I met her, and this guy pretty much forced me to fight her or she would have her daddy blow up the planet Earth, so I had to fight her, and wouldn't you know it, by fighting her and defeating her, it was her people's equivalent of me proposing marriage to her, and she became engaged to me instead of the idiot that forced this to happen, why? Because the fool was against being in a committed relationship, something about wanting to play the field some more."
Patty asked if he was engaged to her and if he had to be in a harem why was this Looma person angry enough to want to according to what he said want to beat him up. Ben told her that at the time the harem plan didn't exist, so he had to break up the engagement he had with her, which is why she is so angry, the only reason he actually managed to survive is that Julie convinced her against retaliating against him and destroy the planet. "But because of that harem plan and the fact I am forced to be in it, Looma of course wants to fight me again, and if I fake trying to lose the fight on purpose she will ask her daddy to destroy our planet so as not a chance this is going to end peacefully, or without me ending in the college clinic or even the hospital."
