One cold winter morning, Will woke up with his arms around Grell's waist, her back gently pressed against his chest as they both laid on their sides. Right away, he noticed that the redhead was much warmer than usual. His concerns were confirmed when she woke up shortly after him.

"Oh Will, I just feel awful this morning!" Grell whined in between coughs. Her voice was hoarse and weak. "My throat hurts so bad…"

Will reached over to feel her forehead. She was definitely developing a fever.

"Why don't you stay home today?" Will suggested. "You going to work would only put you at risk of falling more ill if not spreading your sickness to our coworkers. I have no problem covering your shift."

Grell coughed again, softly. "Do you think you can stay home today?"

"Stay home? But only one of us is sick. Besides, I'll be home no later than 6:30."

"Yes, but I would feel better knowing that my man is here watching over me."

Will raised an eyebrow. "Is that really necessary? Can't you just rest here while I work?"

"But what if you going to work today means that I never get better!?"

"Unlikely." Will rolled his eyes.

"Unlikely you say, but the chances are still there, you know!" Grell let out a sigh of defeat and sorrow. "There is a chance that your choice of going to work today will make my cold turn into pneumonia that will escalate to my death bed!"

Will began rubbing his temple. "You are such a drama queen…"

"Drama queen or not, wouldn't you want your most efficient reaper to get well as soon as possible?" Grell gave him pleading eyes.

"I suppose I can't argue with that…" Will sighed.

"So will you do it?" Grell gave her husband pleading eyes. "Please? Just for today?"

After a moment's hesitation, Will gave in. "Alright. I'll stay home today. Just for you."

Grell made an attempt to squeal in excitement only to fall into a coughing fit. When she covered, she smiled and said, "Oh darling, thank you. I truly can't ever ask for a better man."

At that moment, Will would have leaned over to kiss her on the lips, but that would have put him at risk of contracting her cold. Instead, he took her hand and softly kissed her knuckles.

As long as he had that memory intact, which there is no reason why it wouldn't be as it happened earlier this year, Will should be able to continue with his caregiving role today.

Will remembered how Grell started off sweet and grateful before she had moments where she became feral and overall a lot to handle. But fortunately, even if you had behaved anything like your mother did when he was caring for her, it should be less of a hassle since you were much smaller than Grell. At least, that is what he assumes.

"(Y/N), hold on," Will said to you as you were getting yourself settled. "Don't fall asleep yet. I'll be back in a moment." He quickly left the living room and into the kitchen before you could say anything. You sat up from your laying position to reduce the tempted to fall asleep right at the spot. But you still held the blanket around you tightly. One thing you had noticed was that your body couldn't seem to make up its mind. When you were woken up just now, you were much too hot and could still feel the sweat on your body. But once you had left the bed, you felt too cold again.

To your lack of awareness, Will was in the kitchen going through the cabinets. He went through one of them that typically contained the cold medicine. Luckily, he still had some. When he checked the side of the container that had the directions, he was able to confirm that he was able to have you take this.

The only problem: They were pills instead of liquid form. And Will wasn't sure whether you had ever taken pills in your life or not. He wasn't sure how to teach a child to take a pill. But fortunately, he knew a method that would work.

Grell's condition had escalated fairly quickly. It was a surprise to both her and Will as she was perfectly fine the day before. To her knowledge, she hadn't encountered any sick person recently. Her fatigue grew and became more congested. Her fever had gotten higher. Will had placed an ice pack on her head, in hopes to lower her temperature.

Sometime in the early afternoon, Will had returned from the store to get cold medicine. When he had searched their cabinets to find out that they were completely out. With a bag in his hand, he walked upstairs and into the bedroom where his sick, sleeping beauty lay.

"Grell…" Will said, trying to shake her awake. "Grell, come on, wake up. I have some medicine for you."

Grell opened her eyes, but Will was far from prepared for how they looked right now. Initially, they were tired and confused. But within seconds, that look of confusion morphed into rage that pierced into his soul. Her eyebrows furrowed and she bared her teeth, releasing a growl that was an overlap between a lion and a wolf.

Those growls became more viscious by the minute, making Will feel as though he walked into the wrong territory in a jungle, his fate being prey.

"Grell, I have medicine for you," Will said. He held up the bag towards her. But suddenly Grell leaped up to bite the hand in front of her. Luckily, Will narrowly dodged by leaping backwards across the room before Grell's teeth could make contact with his flesh. He was on his back. He quickly checked his hands, relieved to see that he still had all ten fingers intact. Grell was still snarling at him from the bed, looking as though she was going to launch onto him again at any moment.

"Grell! Just what in the world has gotten into you!?"

Will's slightly louder than usual voice seemed to snap Grell out of her seemingly possessed state. The rage in her eyes disappeared as quickly as it came, transforming back to confusion. She looked around the room, looking more confused when she saw that she was on all fours on the bed, with her husband laying on his back across the room.

"W-what happened?"

Will slowly stood from the floor, adjusting his glasses. "That's something I wonder myself. All I know is that I came to wake you and you nearly tore my hand off with your teeth."

"Well that's your own fault!" Grell laid back down on the bed. Her arms were crossed.

"Just how is it my fault?" Will asked, already bored with this nonsense.

"Well my darling, you ought to know that you mustn't ever wake a lady when she is dreaming that she is a tiger hunting for prey! I was hungry for flesh and happened to come upon a great deer."

"Quite a dream."

"And it appears that when you tried to wake me," Grell continued, speaking with a tone as if Will was an idiot. "I suppose that's how you ended up becoming that deer. But then that deer leaped away from me and started talking." She sighed. "Strange dreams we have when we're ill, isn't it?"

"Yes, especially in your case," Will quickly said. "Anyway, I have medicine for you"

"Medicine?"

"Yes, for your cold. You should take some now."

"No!" Grell shouted. Suddenly having all the energy in the universe, Grell scrambled out of bed, grunting as she landed on the floor.

"What's your problem? It's only a couple of pills you need to take." Will pulled out the bottle and held it in front of her so she could see.

"I'm not taking any damn thing!" Each time Will took a step forward towards her, she would move away.

"Would you just stop with the drama already and just take them?" Will asked calmly, even though his patience was being tested.

"No!" Before Will knew it, Grell had leaped up on her feet and sprinted out of their bedroom. With a groan, he chased after her.

"Grell, will you please come back here?"

"No!" Grell repeated as she was stumbling down the stairs. "I won't!" She ended up falling into a coughing fit as she was towards the bottom of the staircase, slowing her. Will was able to use that to his advantage and quickly wrapped his arms firmly around her waist and began dragging her back upstairs.

"There is no escape now," Will said.

"Let. Me. Go!" Grell yelled. As she was being dragged back into the bedroom, she flailed all of her limbs violently and continued throwing a tantrum. Will pinned her to the bed, simultaneously opening up the pill bottle and grabbing out a couple of pills, and shoving them into her mouth. He firmly held his hand to her mouth, preventing her from spitting them out. Though muffled, Grell continued making whining noises.

"Relax, love," Will gently told Grell. "These will help you feel better.

When he was sure that she swallowed the pills, he released his hand. But that was when he learned that Grell's stomach was very sensitive in that moment. Though Will was able to dodge Grell's sleep assault not even five minutes ago, he failed to dodge and register what happened at first when Grell ejected the contents of her stomach right onto him.

Will shuddered, preferring not to remember the details of that instant. He learned the hard way that when it came to caring for someone, at least Grell, in that situation, is to never wear your best attire. Why Will thought it would be a good idea at all to wear a suit that day, he had no idea.

What he ended up doing after that incident was preparing a cup of tea to help soothe Grell's stomach. Understandably, Grell was apologetic and very embarrassed over what happened. Though shocked and squeamish at first, Will couldn't be mad at her for that.

What Grell didn't know was that while Will was preparing the mint tea, he had thoroughly chopped up the pills until they were dust before mixing them into the drink. Grell hadn't noticed a thing and was easily able to drink all of it.

Will was performing the same process now, but instead of tea, he was using apple sauce that he found in the pantry.

To your relief, Will finally returned after a few minutes of him being gone. He stood in front of you, holding out a small, opened container of apple sauce with a small spoon inside.

"Here. You should eat this."

You frowned. "I'm not hungry." It was true. Your appetite was non existent. Eating was the last thing you wanted to do.

Will shrugged and said, "I'm not surprised. But I know you haven't eaten a thing all day. You'll only continue to feel worse if you have nothing in your system. You should eat this at the very least."

"Alright…" you said with a sigh. You took the container in your hands. Will watched as you ate it, relieved that you seemed to be able to hold it down so far.

"May I go to sleep now?" You asked as you handed him the now empty container.

"Not yet. Just a moment." Will took the empty apple sauce container and went to the kitchen again. While the apple sauce was bearable and there wasn't much of it, that was still your limit. He wasn't going to make you eat any more, was he? But your concerns left when he returned with a glass of water in his hand.

"Drink this. Since you haven't had any fluids either, that's probably why you feel dizzy."

You took the glass and drank it. When you were done, you handed it back to him.

"You may sleep now," Will finally informed you. Almost immediately, you nodded and laid down. You drifted off within minutes.
