"This is great. This is living. I never get to do this at home. Whoo-hoo! After I pass my next test l'm gonna be the best junkyard dog there ever was!" Scamp shouts as he plays in a water puddle.
"I don't think so doll. You may be good... but you'll never be as good as the master." Ruby says as Scamp looks at her.
"Ah here we go." Buster says annoyedly.
"Ruby's right carnsarnit. In my day there was only one stray by which all dogs was measured." Sparky says.
"The Tramp." Everyone says in union.
"Huh? What?" Scamp asks confusedly.
"The Tramp. Haven't you ever heard about him Scamp?" Alexis asks.
"He taught Buster everything there is to know about being on the streets okay?" Mooch asks.
"Buster's trouble was Tramp's trouble." Ruby says.
"And Tramp's trouble was Buster's trouble okay?" Mooch asks.
"That dog was a prize. The one that got away. Got away from me at least." Ruby says.
"Got away with everything! I heard he once stole an entire meat wagon okay? Yeah and then the dog catcher chased him all the way to the river." Mooch says happily.
"No sir. It was dog catchers." Sparky says as he comes over.
"Uh how many?" Scamp asks.
"At least a dozen. Two dozen. Now that I think about it the police and the army cavalry... were after the boy as well. He was trapped. But if the Tramp was gonna go... he was gonna go in style. So what happened? We never saw him again after that. They say when the wind blows... you can still hear the Tramp howl." Sparky says as Alexis smiles at him telling the story.
"Wow." Scamp says in amazement.
"All right. All right. That is not what happened. He met this girl see? Queen of a kennel club set. Even her prissy little name... still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Lady." Buster says as he goes over to Scamp.
"But he met his true love." Angel says.
"What's so wrong about that?" Alexis asks.
"He betrayed me! You can't have a family and still be a junkyard dog. So I gave Tramp a choice. It's either me or her. And he picked life on the end of a chain. Hooked up with a real powder puff. Sleepin' on carpets. Free room and board! Livin' the cushy pillow life! And that's when I learned the first rule about being a junkyard dog. Buster's trouble is Buster's trouble. Hey! Hey, hey, hey! The Tramp used to scratch like that. You ain't related are ya?" Buster asks as he sees Scamp scratch.
"Who me? No way!" Scamp says nervously.
"Good. 'Cause if you were you'd be kibble." Buster says as he bites a stick in half.
"Right Buster." Scamp says nervously before the group leaves.
*Timeskip*
"Hey house dog. You okay?" Alexis asks as she and Angel later find Scamp by the train tracks.
"Who me? Yeah. Yeah sure." Scamp says nervously
"What are you doing out here? Don't you have a nice family back home?" Angel asks.
"Wh-Wh-What difference does it make? All families are alike. They make you take baths and sleep in a bed... and you have to eat everything in your bowl. And when it rains you have to come indoors. Ah. Let's just say you're lucky you've never had to live with a family." Scamp says.
"Wrong there house dog. I had one. Angel has had five." Alexis says.
"Really?" Scamp ask as Angel nods.
"Yep. We've been close since we met." Angel says.
"Angel's how I ended up a junkyard dog. We ran into each other after my family kicked me out when they found out I was a wolf. It was always something I heard the family complaining about me over. Being too wild for them, being too rambunctious, overs worrying that I'd snap and bite out of nowhere. It was always something until they kicked me out." Alexis says sadly as she looks down before Angel nuzzles her comfortingly.
"Sounds like you guys really wanted families. But don't you guys have Buster and-" Scamp then gets cut off by Angel.
"Buster! You can't tell him about us! He'll kick us out if he finds out." Angel says worriedly.
"Angel is right. Buster does not like house dogs. At all. He's made that highly clear." Alexis says.
"Don't worry. Your secrets are safe with me. I promise." Scamp says reassuringly.
"Thanks Scamp." Angel says as she and Alexis begin walking with Scamp.
"So is Sparky your dad or something? You guys seem close." Scamp says as he looks at Alexis.
"Yeah. But he's the only one I've ever really known." Alexis says.
"Well what about you Angel? Aren't you Buster's girl?" Scamp asks.
"I am not Buster's girl! I don't belong to anybody!" Angel says annoyedly.
"The rest of the dogs aren't exactly family but what choice do Angel or I even have?" Alexis asks as she and Angel stop walking.
"No choice. Never did have one." Angel says as she sighs.
"What more do you need? As a junkyard dog you can stay up late or dig or-" Scamp then gets cut off by Alexis.
"Run." Alexis says as she gives a fearful look before Angel gives a fearful look seeing what Alexis is looking at.
"Yeah. Or or play or dig or..." Scamp says.
"No she means run! Now Scamp!" Angel shouts as she, Alexis and Scamp see a train coming at them and begin running before Alexis and Angel make it to a bush off the tracks.
"Angel, Alexis help! I'm stuck!" Scamp shouts as Alexis and Angel see his paw is stuck in the tracks.
"Scamp!" Alexis shouts as she and Angel run over to Scamp.
"Hold on we'll get you loose!" Angel says as she and Alexis begin trying to get Scamp loose.
"Now would be a good time! Hurry!" Scamp shouts as Angel pushes him into the wood making it break enough for a hole as the three then jump down it and fall into the water below.
*Timeskip*
As Alexis and Angel surfaces they begin coughing before seeing Scamp is nowhere around.
"Where's Scamp?" Angel asks worriedly.
"Scamp? Scamp! You're okay! Thank goodness. We were worried-" Alexis then gets cut off by Scamp as she sees him come out of the water and runs over with Angel.
"You were worried?" Scamp asks as he smirks.
"Not like that pup. Get over yourself house pet. Guess that's one way to take a bath huh?" Angel asks as she smiles and shakes off the water.
"Trust me. There is no good way to take a bath." Scamp says.
"Maybe." Alexis says before she jumps at a low hanging branch and bites into it breaking it off the tree before Angel spins around and grabs her tail.
"That is so cool. Where'd you guys learn those tricks?" Scamp asks amazed.
"Talent." Angel says as she smiles.
"My birth mom taught me my trick." Alexis says proudly.
"Let me try one." Scamp says as he tries to jump at a branch only to miss and land in a bush.
"You really are a house dog." Angel says as she laughs slightly while helping Scamp out of the bush.
"Oh yeah? You guys are so weird." Scamp says.
"You're the weird one Scamp. But that's not a bad thing." Alexis says as she and Alexis walk off with Scamp.
*Timeskip*
"Nice looking neighborhood." Alexis say as she and Angel are walking with Scamp.
"Oh no! We gotta get outta here." Scamp says worriedly.
"Why? What's wrong?" Angel asks before Scamp pulls her and Alexis into a bush as a adult version like dog of Scamp walks by with a human.
"The Tramp is your father?" Alexis asks as she and Angel look at the dog.
"I um- Wait. No wait! Alexis, Angel wait!" Scamp says as he follows Alexis and Angel to the window and looks inside at the family.
"You have a family." Angel says.
"They miss you from the looks of it." Alexis says.
"Gosh. I didn't think they'd miss me that much." Scamp says.
"You didn't think they'd miss you? I can't believe you'd run away from a home like this." Alexis says angrily as she gets away from the window.
"Me either. I can't understand why you'd want to leave a home like that." Angel says angrily.
"Well you don't know what it was like." Scamp says.
"No we don't. Must have been horrible having someone care about you that much." Alexis says in disbelief.
"Or having people would worry about your safety to where they'd look for you." Angel says.
"I need to be wild and free. I'll never find that here." Scamp says.
"We would give anything to have what you have. Alexis and I both would." Angel says.
"And I'd give anything to have what you guys have." Scamp says.
"Come on Scamp. We could run off together. We don't need them." Alexis says.
"Alexis is right. We could come back here to your family together. It's clear how much they love and miss you." Angel says.
"Don't you guys understand? Only one more test and I'll finally be a junkyard dog. That's where I belong. " Scamp says as Alexis and Angel sigh in annoyance.
"Don't you get it? You don't belong there." Alexis says annoyedly.
"You're better than that Scamp. You're different than us. We just wish you saw that too. Come on house dog. Let's go." Angel says as she and Alexis walk away with Scamp.
