"Come on Alexis." Angel says as she and Alexis sneak back out of the junkyard.
"I'm coming. We should really be getting some sleep though Angel." Alexis says as she and Angel begin walking on the sidewalk.
"I know but I just wanted to get out and away from the others for a while." Angel says as she sighs.
"Scamp get to you earlier?" Alexis asks as Angel nods.
"Yeah. He did." Angel says.
"Don't feel bad. He got to me too earlier." Alexis says as she looks down.
"I mean I don't get it. He has a family. A good loving family. And yet he doesn't even want it or seem to care." Angel says angrily.
"Yeah I know. I was pretty surprised when he said that he didn't think they'd miss him that much. He was very clearly wrong about that." Alexis says.
"Yes. He definitely was. I don't get why anyone would want to run away from such a loving family. Even if they were a bit controlling or overbearing they are still his family. Not everyone gets to be as lucky as him and he is just throwing it all away." Angel says angrily.
"Yeah but Buster doesn't help. Buster's been filling his head with fantasies of how great life off a leash is and it's not great. It never was." Alexis says as she sighs.
"No. It's not. I just wish he could see the mistake he's making." Angel says as Alexis nods in agreement.
"Me too. But he'll realize it once it's too late." Alexis says.
"That's what worries me. But anyway I'm glad you came with me. I enjoy taking walks like this with you Alexis." Angel says as she looks at Alexis and smiles.
"Me too Angel. I might have an idea that might take your mind off things. Follow me." Alexis says as she and Angel run off.
*Timeskip*
"Where are you taking me?" Angel asks as she and Alexis are walking near a bridge.
"Just keep following me." Alexis says.
"Alright." Angel says as she continues to follow Alexis.
"We're here." Alexis says as she and Angel come to a stop at a stream.
"Why are we at a stream for Alexis?" Angel asks curiously.
"So I can do this." Alexis says as she splashes water at Angel.
"Hey! No fair!" Angel says as she laughs and splashes water back at Alexis and misses due to her taking off running in the stream.
"Can't catch me!" Alexis says as she laughs happily.
"I bet I can't!" Angel shouts happily as she runs after Alexis before jumping and tackling her down into the water as the two laugh happily.
"So was I right?" Alexis asks as she and Angel get out of the stream and shake off the water.
"You're right. This did take my mind off things." Angel says as she smiles.
"I knew it would. It's been a long while since we just sat and played together somewhere." Alexis says as she smiles.
"Blocked out the rest of the world." Angel says.
"Focused on just each other." Alexis says.
"Yep. The two of us against the world. Like always. I really enjoy these moments. They mean a lot to me and make all the trouble we get put through as strays worth while." Angel says as she smiles.
"Yeah. It does. Everything is better when you're with someone you care about." Alexis says as she smiles at Angel.
"It always is. In one paw I'm happy we're both strays because if we had homes we couldn't hang out like this whenever we wanted and in the other I still wish we had homes. I hate fearing for our lives every day." Angel says as she looks down.
"I do too but there's nothing we can do." Alexis says as she nuzzles Angel comfortingly.
"I know." Angel says as she sighs.
"But at least we have each other. And for me that's enough." Alexis says as Angel looks at her and smiles.
"Yeah. I'm glad I have you. Come on. We should head back and get some sleep." Angel says as she and Alexis begin to walk off.
"Yeah. Tomorrow is gonna be a big day for us all knowing how Buster is." Alexis says.
"Ain't that the truth. I just hope Scamp is ready for anything." Angel says.
"He better be for his own sake." Alexis says.
