Now, to the story!

The group waited for Link to calm down so that he would stop making brash decisions before they continued. After waiting half an hour, Link looked at the others from where he was sitting against the wall. Eddy was counting the money they all had, Edd was organizing the equipment, Ed was fighting imaginary creatures with his sword and Navi was lying in his hat on the ground next to him.

"Everyone?" he spoke up, catching their attention. "I'm...sorry that I've been causing you all trouble. I shouldn't have kept on running off like that and leaving you all behind. And wanting to save my home as quickly as possible is no excuse. I hope you can forgive me for acting like an idiot all this time."

"Okay!" Ed immediately said with a grin.

"That fast?!" Link exclaimed in surprise.

"Of course, Link. We understand your want to stop Ganondorf and save your home." Edd stated.

"Yeah. If this was Peach Creek, you can bet the three of us would be going out of our minds." Eddy chuckled as he pocketed the money.

"Your heart's in the right place." Navi said as she flew above him before dropping his hat onto his head. "Even if your head was up your ass."

"Do you feel like you're ready to continue onward?" Edd asked.

"Yeah. And this time, I'm not gonna charge ahead." Link assured them as he fixed his hat.

"Good. Now, let's get going!" Navi said with a cheer before flying under Link's hat. The Eds quickly packed up their things and got ready to head out as well. They walked through the door and slowly made their way through the twisted corridor.

"I am never going to get used to this." Eddy muttered as they walked on before stopping at the entryway to the next area.

"Be careful. The Hand is watching!" Ed quietly warned them.

"We know, Ed." Edd replied. "Once we stepped into the next room, it could strike at any moment."

"He's right. We need to jump to the door to the pillar in the middle of the room, then to the door on the right, unlock it, and go to the next room. I've got the key. You guys ready?" Link asked, earning nods from them. "Alright...LET'S GO!" Link quickly ran into the room and jumped onto the pillar. The moment his feet hit the stone, Eddy started to run before jumping towards the pillar. Ed jumped next after Eddy, with Edd bringing up the rear. He jumped towards the others, but yelped when something grabbed his leg.

"UNHAND ME, YOU...HAND!" Edd yelled as the Wallmaster began to rise towards the ceiling. "HELP!"

"OH NO, YOU DON'T!" Eddy yelled before launching a fireball at the Wallmaster, causing it to shriek and release Edd before it rose back into the ceiling.

"That...was close." Edd wheezed from the safety of an area the Wallmaster couldn't get. "Thank you, Eddy."

"Anytime, pal." Eddy answered as Link unlocked the door, allowing them to step through to the next room. Upon entering, the group noticed two things. One: There was a stairway that lead down to the the lower floor. Two...

"Hello, heroes."

Was a portrait of Joelle the Poe waving at them.

"Hey! That painting looks just like one of the ghosts!" Ed stated, making the ghost in question cease waving and just stare at him.

"He's the idiot of the group, isn't he?" she asked.

"Yep." Eddy answered while the others nodded.

"Hey guys! The painting talks too!" Ed pointed out.

"That's the real poe! She's possessing the painting!" Edd corrected before Joelle disappeared, leaving nothing but a frame of darkness on the wall.

"Where'd she go?" Eddy asked after they ran up to the portrait.

"There." Ed said while pointing at another portrait hanging above the staircase, with Joelle looking like she was relaxing on her side.

"Come out of there and fight like a man!" Eddy demanded.

"First off, I'm a woman. Second, I don't think so. Bye-bye~" she said with a wave before disappearing. The group looked at the blank portrait behind them, then frowned when she didn't appear.

"There must be another portrait somewhere." Link suggested.

"Let's hope so." said Edd. The group walked down the stairs to find another door, an unlit torch, and another portrait of Joelle waving at them before disappearing.

"Oh, come on! How are we supposed to fight her if she won't come out!?" Eddy snapped.

"Perhaps there's a trick to making her reveal herself." Edd pondered.

"Why not just tear the paintings up?" Eddy suggested.

"I got it!" Ed yelled as he jumped for the painting, only for it to disappear. He slammed into the wall and slid down, allowing the painting to return, Joelle inside looking down at Ed and wagging her finger.

"No no no. Not going to be that easy." she said before disappearing again.

"That ghost is infuriating." Edd muttered with a frown. "There must be a way to force her out into the open. I'll need some time to think."

"While you're thinking, let's keep going. Maybe her sisters will be a little easier to defeat." Link suggested. The Eds agreed and followed him to the next room, only to have iron bars slam over the way they came and lock them inside. The room they were in was small and had a huge hole in the floor, a few pots located here and there against the wall.

"What's this room?" Eddy asked before the missing segment of the floor lowered, along with four Stalfos brandishing weapons.

"AMBUSH!" Navi yelled. The group quickly brandished their weapons and charged at the Stalfos.

Link was on par with his enemy while Eddy used a combination of amateur swordplay and his fire magic to fight his. Edd was constantly dodging, as he was still not used to fighting, and Ed was completely overwhelming his opponent with his brute strength that he packed into each swing. Ed's oppenent went down quickly after one powerful overhead swing not only busted through the Stalfos's shield, it kept going and split the skeleton in two. Eddy's Stalfos fell shortly after when the lead Ed turned up the heat and burned it to ash. Link found an opening and severed his Stalfos's spine with a well timed thrust, and Edd finished his opponent lunged at him and got his blade stuck in the wall when Edd dodged, leaving him open for Edd to attack until the Stalfos was dead.

"Nice job, everyone!" Navi commented as a treasure chest appeared in the center of the room.

"Sweet! What'd we get?!" Eddy asked as Link opened the chest and pulled out the Fairy Bow, along with a quiver full of arrows.

"Cool!" Ed exclaimed as he reached for it.

"Ed, no! You'll shoot your eye out!" Link said after pulling the weapon out of Ed's reach.

"Sweet! Hey, pass it here! I bet I can fire that baby just like my slingshot!" Eddy boasted while holding his hands out.

"Perhaps we should let Link take this one, Eddy. You already have fire magic, I don't believe I would be able to fire it, given my attempts with the slingshot, and Ed...well, that's an accident waiting to happen." Edd explained before looking at the doors, the bars having already disappeared. "Now, do we go forward and try to fight the other Poe Sisters, or backtrack and try to defeat Joelle again?"

"I say we go for Joelle. She's the closest one that we know at the moment." Link suggested.

"Yeah. I wanna smack the smug out of her!" Eddy added.

"Alright...which way was it?" Eddy asked as he looked at both doors.

"The door without a symbol above it is the door we came through." Navi answered as she flew towards the correct door. The men followed her out of the room and looked at the portrait of darkness. They then moved on until they spotted Joelle in a painting, her eyes showing that she was grinning at them.

"Back again, I see. Want to try your luck again?" Joelle asked with a chuckle.

"Yuck it up. You won't be laughing for much longer!" Eddy growled.

"And why's that? In case you've forgotten, you can't hit me." Joelle taunted, making Eddy shoot a fireball at her portrait. She disappeared with a laugh before it hit, then reappeared again. "See?"

"WOULD YOU HOLD STILL ALREADY?!" Eddy roared as he threw more fireballs at the picture. Each time he did, Joelle disappeared and reappeared looking more and more smug with each reappearance.

"Having fun hitting nothing?" Joelle asked, making Eddy growl, his face turning red from anger. "Oooh, scary." Joelle chuckled. "When are you going to learn that neither you or your friends here can even touch me and...where'd they go?"

"What do you mean? They're right-" Eddy began as he turned before balking at the empty space next to Ed, who was looking around in equal confusion. "Where'd they go?!"

"Where'd who go?" Ed answered before Joelle laughed.

"Who knew the Hero of Time was a big coward?!" she guffawed.

"Says the ghost who refuses to come out and fight us." Eddy countered, earning a smug smile from Joelle before she disappeared to avoid another fireball.

Joelle reappeared in another portrait, only for her eyes to nearly bug before a blade plunged into her portrait, making her scream as it burned to ash.

"Not this time!" Edd declared.

Joelle had quickly teleported herself back to Eddy, only to shriek and disappear as another fireball nearly hit her. She reappeared in the frame of the third portrait before gasping at the sight of Link aiming a drawn arrow at her.

"Boo." he said before shooting her, making her screaming and the portrait burn. With nowhere else to go, she was forced to flee to the last portrait, an enraged Eddy holding two large fireballs in his hands.

"Uh oh!" she yelped before she screamed as Eddy bombarded her. So lost was Eddy in his anger that he didn't notice that a red flame had appeared in the unlit torch nearby.

"YOU DID IT, EDDY! THE GHOST IS NO MORE!" Ed cheered.

"Did we get her?" Link asked as he and Edd rejoined them.

"Yeah, I did. Where'd you two run off to?" Eddy asked.

"While you were firing at the picture, Navi came up with the idea of Edd and I attacking the other portraits when Joelle warped to them. We waited and, sure enough, she appeared." Link explained.

"And without any other portraits to warp to, she was forced into the one that Eddy was continously attacking!" Edd finished with a smile.

"Cool! Navi's a genius!" Ed grinned while Edd raised an eyebrow at his comment.

"Thank you. Thank you." she said while bowing. "And look! That flame came out when you defeated Joelle! It's the same color as one of the flames taken from the elevator!"

"Which means we need to find and defeat the other three Poe Sisters!" Eddy said with a grin as he punched his fist into his open hand.

"Hmph!" Joelle scoffed. "You may have defeated me, but my sisters won't be so easy! And even if you do defeat them, this Temple, and your precious Kokiri Forest, will never be released from my master's grip!" she laughed as she flew away.

"Well, that was ominous." Edd stated.

"Ah, she's just sore that she lost. Come on, boys! We got more ghosts to fight!" Eddy declared.

"Ahem!" Navi coughed.

"And Navi." Eddy groaned before a chest appeared. "DIBS!" he yelled before running over and opening it. "Aw, come on! All that just for a key?" he huffed as he picked up the small key.

"A small key that will help us continue through this maze of a Temple." Edd said before they all ran off. They entered one door of the room they acquired the bow in before running out the other, finding a room identical to the one they fought Joelle in.

"Why'd we go back to where once we were?" Ed asked.

"We didn't. And she's proof!" Link stated as he glared at a picture on the wall. The Eds turned and saw a portrait of Beth lying on her back and looking comfortable.

"Oh, Oh! It's...um..." Ed trailed off, his face going blank and making his friends look at him.

"She's Beth, Ed." Edd reminded him.

"More picture battles? Come on! Couldn't you think of something else instead of copying your sister?" Eddy complained.

"..."

"Hey! I'm talking to you!" Eddy snapped.

"..."

"Hey! You awake?!" Eddy asked.

"...zzzzzzz..."

The faint snoring they heard told them she wasn't.

"Is she actually sleeping?" Link asked.

"Does that mean it's bed time?" Ed pondered.

"Hmm. She did fall asleep when she was with her sisters earlier. Perhaps she suffers from narcolepsy." Edd theorized.

"I don't care if she's got Narco Polo! WAKE UP!" Eddy roared, making Beth jump up.

"What?!" she yelped before rubbing her eyes and yawning. "That was a nice nap." she said before looking at the group. "Oh, you're here already? Darn. I was having a nice dream."

"Come on out and we'll let you dream forever!" Eddy promised with a crack of his knuckles.

"That actually sounds nice." Beth answered, confusing the group. "Then I can live in that dream forever."

"Was the dream that good?" Ed asked.

"Yeah. A land full of beds as far as the eye can see." Beth answered with a contented sigh.

"You dream about sleeping?" Eddy asked.

"What can I say? I love to sleep." Beth answered before disappearing from her portrait.

"Hey, wait!" Link yelled before the group ran up the stairs to find her in another portrait, her ghostly body resting on a comfy looking bed.

"In the dream, I slept on beds that only royalty would be allowed to." Beth explained in a tired voice. "The pillows were so soft. Like sleeping on a cloud."

"That sounds...pleasant." Navi said, her voice taking on a tired tone while Ed rubbed his eyes.

"It is. And when you tire of one bed, you can try another. Soft beds. Firm beds. Even something called a water bed, if you can believe it." Beth continued while some of the men felt their eyes droop.

"A bed sounds nice about now." Link admitted.

"Like those?" Ed asked as he looked at an array of beds nearby, each one looking like their original beds.

"I like the round one. It looks comfy." Beth admitted.

"That's because I can pick them." Eddy boasted before yawning as he and the others began to slowly trudge toward the beds.

"Ahhh, fresh clean sheets. Just like everyday." Edd said as he pulled the sheets over himself.

"That's where I left that gum." Ed chuckled tiredly as he pulled some gum out from under his pillow and ate it before falling asleep on his bed.

"It's small, but it's my bed." Link groggily said while Navi floated under Link's hat to sleep. Soon, all of them were fast asleep, allowing Beth to come out of her portrait and float towards them all.

"There we go. Sleep and dream...forever." Beth said, a dangerous gleam coming to her eyes. With a wave of her hand, the four of them began to sink into their beds. "Goodnight, heroes." she said as she pulled the blanket over Eddy. "Sleep tight." she continued as wiped some drool from Ed's lip, then shook it off before floating to Edd. "And I hope the bed bugs bite." she whispered as she gently pat his head-

SMACK!

"YEOW!" she screamed after Edd reflexively smacked her hand with a ruler, causing the group to wake up and find themselves on the stone floor, with yelping in shock from above them. "Yikes!" she yelped before phasing into the wall.

"What happened?" Link asked as the four of them stood up.

"I don't know. I suddenly felt sleepy and went to sleep inside your hat. Then I'm waking up to that Poe screaming." Navi answered.

"Wait. I saw that happen just before I fell asleep in my bed." Eddy spoke up before blinking. "How'd my bed get here anyway?"

"It wasn't just your bed, Eddy. It was all of ours." Edd stated. "But you are correct. How on earth did they all get here?"

"It is simple." Ed began before pausing. "The ghost cast an illusionary trance on us to make us sleep until we died in our slumber!"

The others all stared at him before Eddy glanced at the others.

"I don't know what's scarier. That that's what happened, or that Ed figured it out." the lead Ed said.

"That was too close." Link said before looking at Edd. "Do you always hit people with rulers like that in your sleep?"

"Only when they try to remove my hat." Edd answered. "It's a reflex."

"Guess she's not just another sleepyhead." Navi commented.

"Hmm. That gives me an idea." Edd said with a grin before walking into the middle of the room.

"What're you doing?" Link asked. Edd merely took in a deep breath-

"Go to sleep~ Go to sleep~ Rest your big, ghostly eyes~"

-and began to sing in a soft voice.

"I repeat. What're you doing?" Link asked with a confused look.

"Listen for the soft snoring~" Edd sang while giving them a side glance.

"I don't believe it. That mad genius!" Navi muttered.

"What do you mean? All he did was put Ed to sleep." Link answered while gesturing to Ed, snoring away while still on his feet before Eddy elbowed him in the side. With Ed no longer asleep, and Edd's lullaby finished, the group listened to the silence until...

"...zzzzZZZzzzzz..."

"Upstairs!" Link whispered. The group quickly, and quietly, walked up the stairs and looked around before seeing the top of Beth's head poking out of a wall. Ed walked over and pulled her sleeping form out of a wall, her snores becoming louded without the wall muffling them.

"Aww, she's drooling." Ed cooed as Edd gently pulled her blue torch from her.

"We've recovered the flame." the smart Edd stated.

"Now we need to get it back to it's torch near the elevator." Navi told them.

"Indeed. Perhaps we can simply relocated the flame from Beth's torch to it's original spot and-"

"Or we could do this." Eddy interrupted Edd as he grabbed the torch and held the flamed up against Beth's sleeping form, catching her on fire.

"AH! HOT! HOTHOTHOT!" she wailed as she flailed around the room before her form disappeared in a blue puff, a blue flame lighting on a nearby golden torch. Edd glared at Eddy while Beth's spirit appeared. "Worst wake up call ever."

"But funny!" Eddy said through his laughter.

"How did you strike me in my illusion? It's never failed me before!" she asked the smart Ed.

"You nearly did have us until you made one blunder." Edd began before touching his hat. "You touched my hat."

"You hit me just because I touched your hat in your sleep?" Beth asked.

"Apologies. It's a reflex when I feel someone's trying to remove my hat." Edd explained with an apologetic smile.

"Double Dee's mean with a ruler." Ed added while holding his hand, remembering the last time he tried to peek under it.

"Alright, you beat me. So that's...two of us down? Still, the others won't be so easy to top." Beth warned before yawning. "I'm gonna go take a nap. So long." she said before she closed her eyes and started snoring just as a large chest appeared nearby.

"Let's see what's in here." Edd muttered as he opened the chest and pulled out a compass. "This should help." he said as he pulled out the map and looked it over, a few symbols appearing on both the filled and unfilled spots.

"Alright! There's a bunch of chests all over!" Eddy said with glee.

"And in places we've been too before!" Ed added.

"Too bad it doesn't show where the other Poe Sisters are hiding." Link sighed.

"Don't worry, Link. We'll find them." Navi assured him.

"Indeed. It's too early to quit." said Edd. "Shall we continue?"

"Yeah. We've got a forest to save." Link declared before they moved on.
