They stared at each other for another second, before Genevieve continued her loud, anger filled words against Gabriel. She thought so often about what she wanted to tell him. She practiced Speeches in front of a mirror, wrote out sentences to tell him everything he put her trough and yet she couldn't remember any of them right now. She couldn't remember any of her speeches, any of her sentences. The words just flew out of her mouth, like a stream she couldn't stop and she didnt have to think about.

"You've locked up Adrien."Genevieve stated in a simple manner, she said it so boldly that Gabriel took a second to realize it. He let out a deep breath, like he needed to control his feelings. "I did it to keep him safe. I've protected him.", the man answered, his eyebrows twitching in range. "Don't tell me this bullshit, I'm not a child, Gabriel and I'm certainly not Adrien. You've locked him up so you could feel better about your miserable, sad decision of locking yourself up. You used your son, so you can keep yourself in the delusion of doing the right thing!"Genevieve began in a quiet voice, but quickly Emotions were added in her tone.

"You don't know what you're talking about, I've tried to be a good father.", Gabriel nearly growled back at her, his eyes dark. Genevieve was scared. She was scared for herself and for Adrien. And yet she didn't step down. She needed to say this. Her father had to listen to her.

"You were no father! You weren't there. You were busy locking yourself in your office and ignoring the people caring for you! How dare you call yourself a father?"Genevieve's Voice grew louder, there were tears shimmering in her eyes, while she spoke so loudly to him. 'That's not true, Genevieve! I was there!"Gabriel answered just as loud. They were nearly screaming at each other. The emotions were so high and yet no one spoke them out loud. Gabriel felt threatened by his daughter. How she spoke to him, how she told him so boldly what had happened in the past.

'You weren't there, Gabriel! Not when Adrien was crying at night for our mother. You weren't there when he had gotten Chickenpox from Chloe, you werent there when his school work was too much for him! You weren't at his fencing competitions! You know who was there? Nathalie and I! She was there when I simply couldn't handle it anymore. We were his parents, but you were no father to him!", tears streamed down her cheeks and yet she kept on talking. She had to get all of this off her chest. It was her last chance maybe, but she had to take it. They hadn't moved for the last few minutes. There was no sound in the room, besides their voices. Gabriel just stared at her.

"I knew you could handle it. I had to grieve and Adrien had you two. He had to push through it and he did!"Gabriel answered harshly and shook his head in disbelief, like she just told him the biggest nonsense. He crossed his arms. He didn't know what to say to her, how to handle this heartbreaking sight. But he was still in the thought of being right. He believed that he was right. He had kept Adrien safe and he had to grieve as well .Genevieve was doing okay, so her being the one who took care of Adrien made sense in Gabriels head. It was not perfect, but he saw it as something that had to be done.

"Were you ever thinking about me? Or Nathalie? Were you thinking about us? What you did to us?"Genevieve whispered, a single Tear rolling down her cheek. Gabriel opened his mouth for a second to answer, closed it again and stayed silent for a few more moments. "Adrien needed someone to go to. He was just a child.", Gabriel answered in a calm, distant manner. "He had lost his mother", he added in a smaller voice, looking sadly in her eyes.

Genevieve stared at him in disbelief, like he's words just flew right into this little part of her heart which she never wanted to reach for again. She didn't know if his stubbornness was just this or if he really didn't care for her. If he was really this blind for her, if he really believed that giving her all those responsibilities was a good idea. If he really believed that Adrien was the only one who suffered, that he got to suffer but she didn't. That she didn't suffer. That she wasn't a child.

"I lost my mother too!", she whispered and more tears fell down her cheek. She felt so small and fragile at that moment. She had never cried in front of Gabriel, she hadn't cried in front of anyone in quite some time. Yet she didn't sob, there were just tears. Her fingers were digging deep into the flesh of her other arm, one hand dangling down in front of her. She Still hadn't moved. She didn't want to back off, and yet she didn't want to step closer. She just wanted him to know of the pain he put her through.

"You were the older child.", that was the point at which Genevieve was sure that Gabriel had gone mad. That he was so delusional in his own world. But she didn't want to leave. She wanted him to finally realize what he did. She was so fixated on him giving in, that she just kept on talking. She probably should have just left. Maybe it was her time to turn her back on this man.

"I needed a father, Gabriel! I was just sixteen when my mother died. You were no father to me or Adrien. You made me take her place. You made me a grown up I didn't want to be. And when you Finally stepped out of your little dark cage, you reaction was to send me off to America, so I wouldn't talk you into your way of handling a child, you were never able to handle in the first place!", she talked again, no real thought in her head. The blonde pushed her lips together to muffle sobs that cut through her body. Her ponytail was rocking from side to side, while she shook her head in order to get rid of the tears.

"Genevieve, listen okay. I had to make you do all this-". She stopped him with a simple lift of her hand, showing him to end this talking. She was going to run into a wall again. There was no sense anymore. He wasn't going to give in. He wasn't going to see his mistake. Maybe their stubbornness was too similar. She had spilled out her heart to him, told him about the mistakes he made and yet he just saw it as an inconvenience.

"You're hearing, but you're not listening to me. You believe you did everything right. You believe that forcing your daughter to play a role she never wanted to play. You forced Nathalie to take care of you. You were in grief and I understand that, but so were Nathalie and I. You weren't the only one who lost someone. Nathalie was the only reason I pushed through it. Adrien pushed through it because of me. So the only person who you should thank is Nathalie. Because I've made it, no thanks to you. You don't have to see your mistakes but at least be thankful for the people who paid for it. We saved your life and the life of your son."

Genevieves view changed from a sad one to a neutral, distant manner. Her eyebrows raised again into their natural state and the pressure on her lips left and turned them back in to their original wave. She took a deep breath and let her arm fall back into place. The marks of her fingernails are still visible on her skin. Her shoulder got pushed back and she took a deep breath.

"Be thankful for once in your life. Be thankful she hasn't left you."
