I own nothing! Characters based on 1997 film Titanic by James Cameron and lyrics are from the song 'Je te laisserai de mots' by Patrick Watson.
She looked at him dreamily, resting her head on his shoulder, as he continued his song. At some point, her hand left his and now rested on his chest while both of his arms wrapped around his waist.
"Ramasse-moi, quand tu voudras," his voice slightly cracking as he sang. "Ramasse-moi, quand tu voudras," he smiles widely at her while shaking his head to the melody. "Ramasse-moi, quand tu voudras."
"That was so beautiful, Jack," she sighs contently. "Everything you say and do is so beautiful."
"Oh," he chuckles, blushing slightly. Her words make him feel like a schoolboy with a crush. "I don't know about that."
"It's the truth," she assures him. "You just made a little mistake at the end there," she teases.
He grins at her, slightly confused. "What do you mean?"
"Well, it's not just 'ramasse-moi' three times around. The second time it's 'embrasse-moi'."
He looks at her like he can't believe what she's just said because of fucking course she knows French! My God, he laughs to himself. She's impossible.
"Well, Rose," he smiles shyly at her. "I just didn't think it'd be very appropriate to say to you."
Her expression grows serious as she looks at him. "Say it to me anyway, Jack."
The smile drops from his face. There's conviction in her voice. In her eyes. He stops swaying, and now they are just standing there in each other's arms. He swallows nervously. "Embrasse-moi quand tu voudras."
There's no tune. No melody. He says it as a statement. He says it directly to her.
Kiss me whenever you want.
She lifts her head from his shoulder and, to his shock, does as he says and slowly leans in to gently kiss his lips just once. Jack's not sure what to do because at this point he can hardly breathe. Should he kiss her back? Should he push her away because this is just the result of drinking a few too many beers and he shouldn't take advantage. Should he—
She kisses him again before he can think any further. "Embrasse-moi, Jack," she whispers against his lips. Her voice is nothing like he's heard it before. It's lower now. Huskier. Her eyes flit between his and his lips. The heat in her gaze is so intense that he can feel it on his skin.
He returns her kiss, just as gently as she kissed him, feeling nervous and unworthy to just be in her presence. But when she parts her lips for him and he can feel the blissful heat of her mouth, it's the warmest and most inviting thing he's ever felt. Slowly, his insecurities shed away because not only does she not seem to mind him kissing her like this, she threads her fingers through his hair and pulls him into her to deepen the kiss.
His fingertips graze her bare arms, sending shivers down her body, as he reaches up to delicately hold her face. His thumb caresses the soft skin of her cheek and it's this gentleness and tenderness that causes her to melt into his arm. Into his kiss.
"Jack," she sighs as she presses her forehead against his. Half of him is worried that he's stepped too far and the other half is scared that she's going to say this was a mistake. His heart would shatter if either of those things were true. But all of that fades away as he sees the sweet smile the begins to grace her face.
"Take me somewhere we can be alone."
