Marcus returned to the Gryffindor dormitory without incident, and before he went to bed, he tried to 'clear his mind' for as long as possible. He noticed that, as he was doing so, he felt the warmth, which he figured was his magic, enter his head a bit more.
He also took notice of Ron's rat and Scabbers, and feelings of guilt began to enter his mind. He wanted to help Sirius; he really did, but he couldn't change canon, right? Right? A frown appeared on Marcus' face, and he remembered a quote from his past life: 'Evil men and women can only keep doing evil when good men and women do nothing.'
'Fuck it', Marcus thought. 'Tomorrow I'll find a way to help Sirius be free and give Harry the godfather he deserves.'
Marcus then went to bed, and before he knew it, breakfast was ready. As the others were getting ready for breakfast, Marcus pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill and began to write.
'Headmaster Dumbledore,
You know of me, but you do not know who I am. I am a student here at Hogwarts, and when I was younger, I had a vision. I saw glimpses of the future of Wizarding Britain and the second rise of Dark Lord V. It was as if Fate herself were showing me the horrors he would unleash once more. Yes, I know he is not dead, and I know how he is not dead.
If you wish to learn more, please meet me at 11:15 a.m. this morning near the portrait of Barnabus the Barmy on the seventh floor. You will know it is me, for I will say out loud the phrase, 'It is time to meet.'
Sincerely,
Someone Who Wishes to Help'
Marcus then excused himself, saying he was heading to breakfast early, but he decided to try something. Heading to an alcove that was out of sight within the castle, Marcus decided to head to the owlery. Once there, he sealed the envelope with some wax he had borrowed from Ron and addressed the envelope to 'Albus P.W.B. Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts'.
He gave it to a beautiful Barn Owl and said, "This is an urgent message for the headmaster. It concerns the lives of his students and friends. Please make sure he receives it; it is of the utmost importance."
The barn owl nodded and then flew into the air, circling the castle and waiting for mail to be allowed into the Great Hall.
Once this was done, Marcus went into the great hall and caught a glimpse of breakfast. Eventually the mail came in, and that same barn owl landed in front of the headmaster, who curiously opened the letter. This rarely happened, and so the students watched curiously. The headmaster read the letter, and a smile grew on his face. He then folded the letter into his robes and began to talk with the deputy headmistress for a moment before resuming his breakfast.
The students returned to their food, curious what that was about. Eventually, however, class would no longer wait, and so Marcus and the rest of the Gryffindor first years made their way to the dungeons. Potions passed by with the normal events happening with Harry getting yelled at by Snape, Neville having a hard time being confident in front of Snape, and the Slytherin's trying to sabotage the Gryffindor's potions.
After potions, the Gryffindor first years had herbology with the Hufflepuffs. Here, Marcus decided to partner with a red-headed girl from Hufflepuff named Susan Bones. They successfully tamed their sample of Devil's Snare, and Marcus decided that while herbology was definitely useful, it wouldn't be his prime choice of subject, and he was okay with that, seeing the natural talent that Neville had with plants.
Marcus then split off from the Gryffindors again, saying he had to go back to the tower and get something. Instead, of course, Marcus went to the seventh floor, and when it was a minute away from 11:15 a.m., he walked over to the portrait and stood by it, pretending to adjust his bag. At 11:15, he stopped this and said, "It is time to meet.".
Suddenly, Marcus felt a presence behind him, and he saw the headmaster against the wall directly across from him. Marcus, in surprise at this, said, "Wow, that's some useful magic, Headmaster."
The headmaster said, "Indeed, Mr. Castle, would you like to head to my office now?"
Marcus shook his head and said, "This corridor is special. Walk back and forth just across that painting while thinking three times about a place or a room you would want to meet in. On your third pass, a door will appear with a room matching your thoughts."
The headmaster decided to humor the boy, and to his astonishment, a door really did appear that wasn't there before. "Amazing! 5 points to Gryffindor for showing an old man a new secret!"
Marcus grinned before it faded into a serious expression. "Unfortunately, we have more serious matters to discuss. Would you like to enter the room first?"
The headmaster, nodding, said, "I would be delighted."
And so, Marcus and the Headmaster stepped into the room, and the door closed behind them with a soft click. The meeting had begun.
