It had been almost over 30 minutes since the two stared at each other in shock in the Secret Room within the Raceway. Remaining on the red couch, they weren't lying on it anymore, having sat up just a few minutes after becoming silent. For nearly that past half-hour, Roxanne hadn't broken eye contact with Gregory after he had called her mom by accident.
While Gregory was in his thoughts, wondering what to say, Roxanne was left in her thoughts of her emotions. Some kids had mistaken her in the past as a mother figure, but this is way, way different from those times. It had made her tail wag left and right for half of the 30 minutes. Being called mom by a child she's gotten to know better than any other kid left her with feelings that're a blend of satisfaction and uncertainty. Satisfied that the boy she's been caring for called her that, but uncertain since they love each other just as much as Chica and vice versa.
It felt right, but wrong at the very same time. Did she like being called that? Is it wrong since they kissed more than just on the cheek or the head? Does it even matter since they aren't even related? Roxanne couldn't decide, it was just so much to process for her.
To her luck, however, she was broken out of her thoughts by Gregory speaking, breaking the silence. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to call you that."
With her sight focused back on Gregory now, she watched him look away from her, but unfortunately for him, he had failed to conceal his blush from her, stuttering. "I-It just slipped...I-"
"Kid...It's fine."
Having cut him off, Roxanne reached for Gregory, safely lifting and placing him onto her lap, getting his attention. "There's no reason to apologize. It just...Surprised me is all." He looked at her as she did so back before asking him. "Just...Don't call me that again...Call me Roxanne or Roxy when you want to...Okay?" She smiled to ensure she was neither mad nor disappointed by his words.
Returning a nod, Gregory smiled and soon hugged her, which she returned as well. But despite this, she kept hearing his voice calling her mom in her head on repeat, over and over again. Rather than making her wonder how to feel about that, it instead made her recall what he had told her back when they first met. Specifically when she caught him in that bin in the stage elevator room.
("I don't have anywhere else to go!")
It reminded her that he's never had someone to watch over him. Not a guardian, nor even a parental figure in his life to be considered a mother or father to him. But...Was he telling her the truth? Don't get her wrong, she believes him, but he was very vague about that. But since it's just them, it's the perfect time to get answers and see if he at least has parents or any other relatives. And whether he did or didn't, she wants to know why he came here. Was it because of neglect? Because of abuse? ...Desperation?
Roxy stopped herself from thinking of any more terrible acts of child endangerment and focused on the boy. "Gregory?" She began, pulling away from the hug slowly with her hands still on his shoulders and eyes focused back on his.
"Yeah?"
She took a moment to take a deep breath and asked. "Did...Do, you have any parents, relatives, or...Guardians?" He became puzzled until she added. "You...Never really told me if you did. And I want to know what happened to you before you came here...What made you want to come to the Pizza Plex...Please?"
Gregory kept looking at Roxanne for a moment before sighing. "I...I don't have parents or relatives...But I did have a guardian." He scratches the back of his head. "I-I was left at the doorstep of an orphanage and when I was discovered, the owner took me in. I spent most of my life there with others. U-Until..." He paused, trying to start the next sentence as tears began to build in his eyes.
Realizing what may have happened, Roxanne comforts him. "I...I'm sorry, Gregory." She rubbed his back, looking at him with worry. "You don't need to tell-"
"I-It's okay...I want to. I don't want to leave anything out." Gregory wiped the tears from his eyes, receiving a nod from Roxanne, who listened to him as he took a moment to relax before continuing. "It was until the owner was in an accident...S-She took care of us, but after she died, everything fell apart." He looked down at the floor. "The new owner didn't bother to do anything to improve and let everything fall apart...And when it was announced we would be moved to foster care, I-I just couldn't stay anymore. So I left and came to the city nearby and stayed there for a few days..."
Roxanne felt nothing but guilt for the boy. First, he was abandoned by a relative out of hopelessness, then he lost the only person who was close to a mother figure at the time, and last he was going to be forced into a family that would've been caring for him only for money.
"Is...That when you...?"
"Mm-hm...I got desperate and noticed a billboard for the Pizza Plex." Gregory shook his head. "I didn't want to starve or freeze...S-So I came here and snuck in past Security." He looks back at Roxanne. "But Vanessa saw me. I had to run and hide most of the day because of her before..."
"...Before you got into my room?" Roxanne received a nod from Gregory. "I'm so sorry Gregory...No child your age should've gone through all of that."
"I know..." Gregory slowly hugged Roxanne by her sides, looking up at her as he did so. "But it's okay. If none of that had happened...I-I wouldn't have met you or Chica. And I never want to take any of that back, e-even if I was given the choice."
This surprised Roxy. "Y-You mean that, kid?" Gregory only nodded with a small smile returning to his lips. In response, she slowly hugged him back with a few tears dripping from her eyes as she did. Despite everything he's been through, he would rather stay here than go back and fix everything that went wrong from the beginning.
After a few minutes had passed, both Animatronic and human pulled away from each other with the former wiping away what was left of her wiper fluid tears. "How's about we clean up here before we head back? We don't want the Staff wondering where I am."
"Sure!" Gregory gets up from her lap. When he turned, his face turned red, seeing Roxanne standing as she unzipped the front of her leather jacket. Immediately, Gregory turned away, showing some decency as he waited for Roxy to change.
She rolled her eyes with a smile seeing this and soon removed both the jacket and pants before putting back on her iconic red attire. With her skirt the last to put on, she folded up her leather clothes and put them away where she had them. "Alright. Now let's take care of those floor stains."
Just as Gregory turned, Roxanne presented him with a mop and a bucket full of soapy water, both marked with the Fazbear Entertainment logo. "We don't want any accidents the next time we walk in here." Added Roxy, holding a floor brush in one hand, receiving a nod from Gregory.
Soon after, the two began to wash away the grease and grime from the floor. Whatever soap was in the bucket, it was very effective, washing away the muck on the ground, leaving it spotless. While cleaning, Gregory would look over at Roxy to see how she was doing...Only to look away hastily with redness around his cheeks whenever her back faced him. She was on her knees, scrubbing the floor deeply with the brush.
It wasn't long until they had left the floor spotless, making look as it did when they first entered the room. Seeing that the floor was pristine, Roxanne placed the floor brush back where it was. "Okay, all done." She began as Gregory placed the mop and bucket beside the brush. "Now let's head back."
Gregory nods to Roxy as she holds his hand. "Ok!" He smiled and got up on a nearby chair to kiss her right on the cheek. "And thanks again...Roxanne." She chuckled, letting him take the lead as she followed him out of the secret room, all the while closing the door from behind.
Later: Hours after Closing Time
Due to what they'd done after a long day around the Pizza Plex, Roxanne had helped Gregory into her bed to get some rest. 'How could I forget he would get tired so easily?' Thought the Animatronic happily as the door closed behind her, leaving her alone in her Greenroom. Once alone though, Roxy's happiness faded and she let out a quiet sigh and sat down on her couch. Nothing was wrong, she just...Can't stop thinking about what Gregory called her back there inside the Raceway.
'He...Called me...Mom...'
It still left her having mixed feelings about it as couldn't figure out whether or not it was okay that he called her that. As noted earlier it felt right but wrong at the same time because they care about each other and love each other just like a couple. Just bringing that back up to her thoughts had just jump-started her tail as it began to wag again, beating the cushions of the couch under her.
Roxanne noticed this and stopped her tail, placing her hand on top of it when it was flat on the couch to avoid waking Gregory. From here, she took a moment to wonder to herself what to do about this, until it came to her. 'I need to go see Chica.' Without a second to waste, Roxy sat up from the couch and exited her Green Room right out into Rockstar Row.
Making sure nobody was outside, not even Freddy or Monty, she began making her way over to Chica's Green Room. Looking around one last time to ensure she was alone, Roxy went over to the pink door, knocked on it, and patiently waited. Receiving no response or sound, she knocked on the door again. This time the sound of metal footsteps can be heard on the other side before stopping behind the door. When it opened, it revealed Chica, sporting a shirt so long that it covered most of her upper body, it even had Freddy's face logo on it.
"Who-Oh, Roxy!" Chica's confusion turned to a bright grin upon seeing Roxanne. "What brings you here? And how did it go with Gregory?"
Instead of answering, Roxanne looked at the shirt Chica wore for a second. "Huh." She looks up at her with a smile. "Wearing that shirt again I see."
Chica giggled with a nod. "Well...You did get it for me when nobody wanted it. And it's so comfortable to wear when I'm not working." She leaned forward with her arms behind her back along with the excess fabric of the shirt, making the front hug her figure closely as she whispered. "By the way...I'm not wearing anything underneath." She winked when she finished the sentence.
This made Roxanne blush before shaking her head with a quiet exhale. "May I come inside?"
"Of course you can!"
Stepping aside, Chica gestured to come in, which Roxanne did as she walked into the room. Letting the door shut, the Chicken Animatronic led the Wolf Animatronic over to her couch, both of them sitting down together on it side-by-side. Looking at the box set on the table in front of them, Chica opened it to reveal freshly sliced pizza
"Pizza?"
Roxanne shook her head. "No thank you...I'm not hungry at the moment..." Chica shrugged and closed the box as Roxy told her. "I...Wanted to talk to you about something."
This confused Chica as she turned a little to face Roxy. "Sure. Is everything okay?" Suddenly she gasped and looked alarmed. "Is Gregory okay!? Did something happen to-"
"No, he's okay, calm down! Nothing bad happened."
Chica did exactly as told, sighing in relief to hear Gregory was fine. If he wasn't, she would've bolted to him without a second thought and tried everything she could to help him.
Roxanne took a moment and told her. "It's just...When we were there, Gregory...He called me mom...By accident." Chica only blinked in surprise as Roxy continued. "We did some work on my motorcycle, had a bit of a talk, shared a kiss, and talked about having you spend time with us there, he thanked me...And called me mom."
"Aww, that's so cute!"
Roxanne nodded. "I know...But since then, I've been feeling mixed about it." She looks down at her hands. "I can't determine whether it's something I should be proud of...Or something to worry about because...You know?"
Getting what she meant, Chica nods. "And that the reason why you came to me?" Roxy nodded, her head still down as she waited for Chica's response. After a moment of silence, that was when her attention was focused on Chica's hands as they held onto hers with care. "Well...There's nothing wrong with that. You don't have to have any reason to worry about it. You should be proud that he called you mom."
"R-Really?" Roxanne looked at Chica. "But, isn't it wrong?"
Chica shook her head with an assuring smile. "No...Why would it be? You're not related to Gregory, none of us are, and it just means he looks up to you." She then asked. "Is it truly wrong to be looked up to?"
"Well...no."
"And you know why?" Chica then gave her the answer. "Because you. Are. The best!" Roxanne's eyes widened at realization as Chica finished up. "Not just for the Pizza Plex, for the fans, our friends, or me. But for Gregory too. Never believe it's a bad thing, okay?"
Roxanne nodded to Chica, who then decided to cheer up the Wolf. "Now...Who's the best?" She asked light-heartedly.
"...I am."
"Can you repeat that?"
"I am..."
"You are what?"
"I'm the best!"
"A little louder please?"
"I'M THE BEST!!!"
Chica giggled happily. "There's the Roxy I know!" Immediately she brings Roxanne into a hug, who hugs back with a smile, feeling a little bit better.
"Thank you..."
Through this hug, Roxy's memories of her friendly interactions with Chica flowed through her mind, until it came to the memory of when she yelled at her.
("GIVE ME BACK GREGORY!!!")
Though Roxy had already apologized to Chica when it was assured Gregory was still safe and with them, she still felt guilty for it. She never yelled at her like that before, and she wishes never to do that again.
"Also...I'm sorry."
Chica pulled away with her arms still on Roxanne's shoulders. "For what?" She asked with a raised magnetic brow, confused by the sudden apology.
"For yelling at you...Back when I thought you took Gregory away." As Chica remembers that moment, Roxy continued with guilt in her tone. "I didn't know what came over me at the time, and I know I apologized, but I still feel so bad for it. I assumed the worst when I saw you in my room instead of Gregory and..." She sighed in disappointment. "And I let my anger get the best of me..."
"Roxy, it's okay. I forgive you." Chica placed her hands on Roxy's face at her cheeks, raising her head to look directly at her eyes. "I know you didn't mean to do that and I understand why. Besides...I would've done the same thing if our roles with Gregory were reversed."
This made a red glow appear on Roxanne's face as she smiled at Chica a little and soon held onto her hands. "I promise I'll never yell at you again...My cute Glamrock."
The two leaned in and kissed each other right on the lips, gradually yet romantically. Their arms explored one another's form, feeling each other's artificial skin through bare contact or their clothing. Pulling away, they looked at one another eye-to-eye with an allured smirk forming on their face.
"Is Gregory in your room?" Chica asked as one of her hands traveled down to the hemline of her shirt.
Roxanne nods. "He's asleep, probably going to be out for a while."
Hearing that as good news, Chica got a grip of her shirt from the hem and smiled. "Why don't we go to my bedroom for some...Privacy?" She lifted the front of her shirt to her abdomen with a wink, revealing her pure white legs and silky zone to Roxy.
Feeling all the heat in her synthetic body emit from her face at the sight of Chica's lower region, Roxy nodded in response unable to utter a single word. With a giggle, Chica let go of her shirt and held Roxanne's hand, which clutched hers upon contact. When they got up, Roxy began leading Chica straight to her bedroom, closing and locking the door behind them when they entered.
Minutes Later: Roxanne's Bedroom
Waking up with a yawn, Gregory sat up from the bed and slowly opened his eyes. "Huh...?" His vision soon became clear to reveal he was in Roxanne's bedroom, sitting up from her bed. In seconds he noticed she was nowhere in the room. "Roxanne?" He called out, getting up from the bed as he called for her again. "Roxanne?"
He waited for a moment but received no response from the Glamrock. Curious he went over to the bathroom door and knocked, only for it to open, revealing nobody inside. He then checked the Recharge Station to see if she was in there and maybe got stuck, though was relieved to see she wasn't in it. Knowing she wouldn't go down to Parts and Service, he approached the door leading back into Roxanne's Greenroom.
Opening the door he walked into the room but found it empty as well. 'Maybe she's with Chica?' He thought, believing she may have wanted to check on her after that close encounter they almost had with Vanessa in Bonnie Bowl.
Just as Gregory was about to go and see if they were in Chica's room, he heard someone approaching the door outside, making him smile. 'Oh, that must be her!' Thinking it's Roxanne, he walks over to the door with a grin, preparing to greet her. Suddenly he stops in place as he starts to notice something off.
'Wait...Roxanne doesn't tap when she walks.'
Before Gregory could even move, the door opened up, leaving him frozen in shock and fear. Entering the room was Vanessa, who was looking down at a tablet, likely used for Security. "Roxanne have you-" Looking away from the flat device, she stopped in her tracks, eyes wide, focused on Gregory.
Looking up at her, still frozen in place, Gregory quietly gulped and nervously waved with a sheepish grin. "U-Uh...Hi?" That grin faded when Vanessa's eyes narrowed.
"You!"
Gregory quickly turned to make a run toward the bedroom. "Rox-!" Before he could even finish her name, Vanessa grabbed him by the back of his shirt and pulled him towards her.
"Oh no you don't! You're coming with me!" Swiftly Vanessa clasped his hand with hers, keeping a firm grip on it to stop him from running away again, adding. "And you know, just for trespassing you've caused me a lot of trouble." With that, she dragged Gregory out of Roxanne's Greenroom with little struggle as he tried to free himself from her grip.
Meanwhile: Chica's Bedroom
"That...Was...Amazing..."
Chica snuggled in Roxy's arms as they lay in her white bed with their bodies covered by pink and purple blankets.
"You're amazing." Roxanne held Chica with a smile and kissed her on the beak. "I missed this."
In return, Chica happily kissed her back until they pulled away. "Yeah."
After a moment of silence, the Wolf Animatronic suggests. "Hey. How about we go see Gregory? I'm sure he'd love to see you now."
Chica gasped. "Oh my, yes, he's so adorable! Let's go!" Immediately she gets out of bed and goes to her dresser, picking out a pink shirt and purple silk shorts before putting them on.
At the same time with a chuckle, Roxanne sat up from the bed and grabbed her discarded clothes. Said clothes are a purple shirt and green silk shorts. Soon after she got dressed, she was waiting for Chica to get dressed until she heard a familiar voice.
"Roxanne!"
With the flick of her ear, Roxanne turned to the direction. "Gregory!?" Wasting no time, Roxanne bolted out of Chica's bedroom, who watched her go in puzzlement, not having the same sense of hearing.
Meanwhile: The Atrium
"Let me go!"
Still being dragged by his arm, Gregory tries to pull his arm away from Vanessa but to no avail. He had tried to kick her but realized the ongoing walk prevented him from even reeling a leg back to kick.
Vanessa sighed in annoyance. "Listen, kid, you're not even supposed to be here." She then looked at him. "Now behave! We'll go to my office and try and contact your-"
"Gregory!?"
The sudden shout echoed from Rockstar Row to the Atrium, making Vanessa stop in her tracks. "Gregory? Wait...Roxanne?" Vanessa muttered with a raised brow, recognizing who was shouting the kid's name. This confused Vanessa as Roxanne's shout wasn't out of anger or an attempt to lure out Gregory, it instead was out of worry.
While Vanessa was perplexed, her grip on Gregory's hand eased. Feeling this, the boy quickly slipped his hand from her grip and made a run for it back to Rockstar Row, going as fast as his legs could get him. He would've gone to hide, but now that Roxanne had called his name there was no point in it. If he hid, it would only cause additional problems not just for him but for her and Chica as well, and he couldn't let that happen.
Seeing him in her vision, Vanessa was about to chase after him but paused. At the realization that Roxanne knows the ki-Gregory, she groaned. She can't let the boy wander the Pizza Plex so freely, especially at night, but now she can't run after him too. If Roxy sees her chasing Gregory, it would probably land her a one-way trip to the infirmary and potentially put the Pizza Plex out of business...Something she cannot allow to happen. In anger, Vanessa followed Gregory, walking to avoid aggravating Roxanne and get answers to figure out what's going on.
'I don't get paid enough for this...'
Note: I apologize for taking so long to finish this Chapter. I ran into a bit of trouble after a rando online tried to demand that I change a specific aspect of the story. But besides it being my story, it is just fiction, a part of creative freedom.
