" […] Something burned in the back of her neck.
Amy wasn't alone, she was completely sure of that.
Drawing courage from where she didn't have any, she turned her head back.
Only to find an empty street ahead.
As she quickened her pace and turned her face forward once more, her jade irises met his blue ones."
"Dear friends...
I'm sorry for what I'm going to write in this letter.
Firstly, I would like to apologize for going back on my word. By the time you read this letter, I will be long gone."
Amy glanced at the paper on the table and began tapping the tip of her pen against it. She tried desperately to finish writing the letter, but she couldn't. Every word she wrote was excruciatingly painful. She couldn't stop thinking about their faces when they read it or how they would know what she was about to do soon.
And to think that she would no longer see Sonic's, Cream's, or Tails' faces, not from her uncles, grandparents, or anyone else.
It was too depressing.
She needed to hurry if she wanted to enjoy her last moments with them. She crumpled the paper in a mixture of pain and anger over her fate, then took out her cell phone right after.

"Hey, what's up? This is the one and only Sonic the Hedgehog. It seems, I didn't have time to answer your call. But don't worry though; leave me a voicemail or text, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Bye, beep!"
"Damn, Sonic." she muttered, turning off the device.
Two days ago Sonic met her at the bus stop and took her to the appointment that had been scheduled at the hospital. Not before taking her to a cafeteria and feeding her well. She had practically been forced to eat. Amy snorted at the memory.
The doctor advised her to eat lots of vegetables and fruits, as well as include a vitamin routine and folic acid intake. As well as avoiding stress - during the routine examination, the doctor concluded that she had become stressed shortly before her appointment. That doctor said so many things, for the baby's good development, and Amy even understood, but she couldn't even bear her own depressed state; how could she bear herself and a baby who had no idea of the misfortune that was happening?
Without realizing it, one of her hands caressed her flat belly. It had been just over three weeks since what happened; time was passing quickly, and he would soon come looking for her.
The only option she had was to pretend that everything was fine until then. Because after that, she would hardly be able to see them again. Much less talk to them.
Amy looked out the window, watching the street as the wind blew her hair back.
If someone asked her what the biggest mistake of her life was, she would definitely only answer one name: Leon.
Nothing in the world could erase from her memory everything he meant to her, much less what he had done and caused to her. She was marked forever. For every caress, every touch, every word.
"I hate this guy!" he screamed, completely irate. "I hate him, but it seems like you like being with him just to tease me, Amy!"
"Me? But… we have nothing, we haven't even talked secretly; you know that very well. I never did anything suspicious, so why does everything have to be my fault?!"
"And why don't you stay away from him like I asked?!"
"Did you happen to stay away from your little friends when I asked you to? Did you happen to stop liking photos of these sluts on your social media?!"
"Oh, please! Here you go again with that conversation. Amy, you know I'm a man. I have my needs, but you are never ready to satisfy them!"
There was silence between the couple.
"...Why do you insist on treating me like an object, Leon? I'm not a toy to satisfy your desires."
"You tell me, Amy" his blue eyes penetrated hers, effusively. "Why do you insist on leaving me in the lurch? Why don't you prove your love for me once and for all?"
" ...I don't understand..."she chirped sadly. "Doesn't everything I do for you prove it? I listen to most of your advice, why is for you it all comes down to sex?"
" Most of them? you never listened to me about your precious friends, they seem to be much more important than me. The only one who doesn't notice is you, but they are always trying to separate us."
She remained silent, without moving her eyes from the boy with bright blond hair.
"See? They made us fight even now, on our anniversary. I don't understand you. Amy, I'm the only one who can love you and this is how you love me back?"
The sun was setting quickly, casting a mix of pink, orange, and purple hues across the sky.
That relationship seemed to have no end. Its effects seemed to be merely numbed by the therapy.
"My little one... when will this end? Will this ever end?" she asked, knowing there would be no answer. Maybe the only solution was to end it all once and for all.
Yes, she would.
She sighed in resignation. She would not allow herself to suffer in the short time she had humiliated herself to achieve it. She would at least try to enjoy their company before letting herself be swallowed up in the darkness.
Another of her hands took her cell phone again, slowly looking for Sonic's contact on her messaging app.
