"Alright Izuku, I think it's done." Hunter Midoriya said. He'd just finished the final tweaks to the inter dimensional watch. He had no Idea if it would work, but that didn't matter right now. He wanted Mei back, and there was very little that he wouldn't do to get her back. "You ready to make the jump?"
Izuku Prime pulled his mask on his face. The remodeled costume that Mei and his older counterpart had made was really something else. He felt more secure in it, as if the costume was even tougher than he was. He looked up to himself, and nodded.
"Alright kid, here we go." Hunter Midoriya pressed a button on his watch, and waited. After a few moments, energy crackled to life within the room. At first it was just a few multicolor sparks, but then a portal ripped itself open within the workshop. A circle of multicolored light opened up, causing wind to whip up in the room and knock things around. Izuku Pime's cape he'd received from Gran Torino whipped around wildly as his eyes adjusted to the sight of the thing. "No telling where we'll end up, but we've got to try." Hunter Deku said as he walked up to the portal.
The two heroes stepped up, and entered the portal. Instantly the two were flung through time and space, flying wildly through the space between dimensions. The space was filled to the brim with greens, blues, purples, reds, and oranges. Mirror like shards of what could only be assumed to be universes flashed events that could've happened, or that are currently occurring. They watched a world where Izuku had healing blood, another depicting a dramatic event in the Todoroki family, and another where Izuku trained under Stain. All these events and more as they hurdled through to another dimension. The sensory overload was too much, and the heroes shut their eyes to avoid the blinding lights as they shot to their destination.
Izuku Midoriya sat on a bench outside of Heights Alliance, the dorm he was required to stay at on campus. He stared down at his phone. He felt like he should call Toga, tell her what happened, and get revenge on the sick bastard that tried to take Eri. How they'd even snuck onto campus in the first place already had his mind racing, but he knew revenge was the wrong play. He needed to keep a level head in situations like these. Who knew who would be sent after him if he did something rash here.
The last thing he wanted was to give his father another excuse to come after him. This damn fire quirk. He should really go back inside. He kind of just left Bakugo to handle the situation. I should check in on... wait, what was that? Suddenly he, heard what something from the bushes near the dorms. It sounded like something big might've fell into those bushes. He cautiously turned the corner around the building and approached the bush. He decided it was best to turn on his flames, just in case the enemy was still around.
You can imagine his surprise when a head identical to his own popped out of the brush. The two Izuku's stared at each other for a moment, before the fire user spoke. "Toga? Is that you?" Then he saw another head pop out, this one looking like a slightly older version of himself. "...Twice..?" The fire user was very confused, but then the moment kicked his instincts back in. "No, you aren't either of those, I bet you're that mimic guy. I'm gonna torch you for scaring her!" He shouted, hurling a fireball at the bush.
The two Izuku's jumped out of the bushes, narrowly avoiding getting scorched. One of them, the one that appeared to have some pretty high tech gear on started fiddling with the watch he had on, tapping on it and trying to do something. Izuku went to hurl another fireball at that one when the other version of himself wearing a yellow cape did something with his fingers. He made a flicking motion and it knocked the fireball of course. Izuku turned to that one.
"We don't want to fight, but we can't let you slow us down." Izuku Prime spoke, pulling his mask over his eyes and adjusting the respirator on his face to cover his mouth and nose. He prepared some blackwhip tentacles on one arm, in case he needed them.
"That's fine, this wont take long." Viridescent Izuku spoke. "You're going to pay for scaring my sister." He let his flames wreath around his hands and feet, and sprouted two green flaming horns from his head. He also made the first move, as he pulled the fire from the bush to him, aiming to burn his doppelgänger's back. To his surprise, his yellow caped copy flipped over it and hovered in the air. Izuku Prime flung his black whips at his counter, and yanked him in the air, throwing him at the fight floor of the building.
Before the fire user could crash into the building, he thrust back into the fray, managing to grab his double and drag him through the ground. Dirt smeared on the cape and back of Izuku Prime's costume. He tried to break free, only to be lifted back into the air, and then slammed back into the ground. This other him had the upper hand, but that wouldn't last. After being lifted again, he was thrown at the ground again, this time in UA plaza, right in front of the school building. He used hover to slow his decent so he could land.
Now the two boys were stances up, ready for an all out brawl with eachother, one in full costume with black tentacles sprouting from his arm, and one in casual clothes with fire and sparks flying from his body. The two locked eyes, shining emerald clashed with viridescent green, and then the real fight broke out. Izuku Prime dodged to fireballs and used OFA to jump up into the air, going into a flying kick into his other. Viridescent Deku was expecting this however, as he blasted fire straight at his copy. This was fake out, however, as Izuku Prime spread his body out and a blast of pink smoke formed a smokescreen around the area.
Suddenly, it was Viridescent Deku that was on the back foot. What is his quirk. He seems to have skills similar to OFA, but he also has those weird tentacle things, and now this smokescreen. And on top of that, does he have heightened senses as well? He can't be a Nomu, he's too much like me to be one. What is- Out of the smoke, a gloved fist connected with his jaw and sent him flying out of the smoke, straight into a tree that he made a crater in. This guy was seriously starting to piss him off. Fine, time to combine the two.
Inside the smoke, Izuku watched his counterpart spread the flames across his entire body. This made things challenging, but what he saw next saw him worry more. Green sparks started to cover those flames, jolting out randomly. That's OFA. So he has fire and that? He just needed to adjust his strategy. If he was fast enough, he wouldn't get burnt, and he could use the environment to his advantage. Using Blackwhip, he cleared the smoke out of the area, and grabbed a couple trees, ripping them out of the ground. One by one, he let them rain down on his copy.
Viridescent Izuku didn't take this standing down, however. As the trees rained down, he dodged each one, pouring some extra firepower into the last tree, torching it to nothing before it could hit him. He then sent fire out in a circle, trapping them both in a close quarters ring.
"That wont work, I can still fly out." Prime Izuku taunted, crouching down and springing up. As he did, the flames shot up as well, whipping at his suit and scorching bits, forcing him back to the ground. He was getting worried now. Close quarters combat with a foe he couldn't touch was difficult. Only Blackwhip could hurt him now, and even then, it wasn't nearly as strong as himself.
"You're pretty good, and you've got a lot of neat tricks." Viridescent Izuku said. "But that's all they are, tricks. Speaking of, want to see one of mine?" He reached his hands out in a wide clapping motion. What's he doing?! Suddenly, violent fire burst out of his hands as he clapped, creating a pyroclasm that sent Prime Izuku flying out of the ring and skidding across the ground.
Izuku Prime crashed through a couple trees and only came to a stop when he was embedded into the concrete wall of the school. He fell out of that hole onto the ground, and struggled for a moment before getting back on his feet. Checking over his body, his mask was gone, burnt off on one side. There were some scrapes on his arms, and his metal bracers on his legs looked worse for wear. He felt a bit of blood trickle from his cheek, before he rubbed it off. He narrowed his eyes. Fine. No more playing nice. He activated Fa-Jin and Gearshift, doing some squats in place before rocketing off back at his double, landing a clean kick across the face of his enemy.
The extreme use of his powers all at once caused him to stumble a bit before getting back to his feet. Viridescent Izuku wasn't looking so hot either, well, not in the emotional sense at least. He got back to his feet as well, adopting another fighting stance. A thought crossed both of the boy's minds. I may not be able to beat this guy. Getting ready to resume a fight neither of the two were all that confident in, they flew themselves at eachother before they felt their powers suddenly vanish. With no powers to hit eachother, they were helpless to crash into eachther.
Both boys tumbled to the ground once again, before scrambling to their feet. A voice called out to them. "Stop. Now. Both of you." The dry voice of Izuku's teacher, Aizawa called out. Both boys turned to look at the newcomer. Alongside him was Hunter Deku, still fiddling with his watch. "I can't leave you alone for five minutes, can I, problem child." Aizawa said, his red glare focused on the fire user.
"But, Mr. Aizawa, these guys could be working with he one who tried to kidnap Eri!" Viridescent Izuku said. This earned the shocked reactions of both Hunter Deku and Izuku Prime.
"They tried to do what!?" They said in unison. Wide emerald eyes stared at the fire user, only confusing him further.
"They aren't." Aizawa said dryly, earning looks from the younger two Izukus. "This older you explained everything. As bizarre as it sounds, and for lack of better answer, I've accepted that these two aren't from around here." He blinked, dropping his quirk. He then reached into his scarf to grab some eye drops. "You." He pointed to Hunter Deku. "Explain." He said.
"Right." Hunter Deku said. "So, you're just going to have to roll with this for it to make sense, but basically, we're from another dimension. I'm Izuku Midoriya, but from a world where things are vastly different. For example, I didn't get my powers from All Might. Yes, I know about OFA, save your questions. The one you were fighting is also Izuku Midoriya form another another dimension. He doesn't have firepowers like you do. Is this making sense? I hope so. Anyways, we were looking for my girlfriend when my device malfunctioned and sent us here. Okay, now ask."
Viridescent Izuku's mind was running on overdrive. "Ihavesomanyquestionsyouhavenoidea. First off, there are other me's, or I guess, us's? And other dimensions are real? And why are you guys here? And why does this one have so many abilities?" He asked, before briefly turning to himself. "Sorry about beating you up, by the way. And you came here looking got your girlfriend, why would she be here? And how do you know about OFA?" He said before he had to breathe.
"Okay, well uh, lets see. Yes, there are other Izuku's, clearly other dimensions exist, we're here for Mei, I don't know why he's like that, she was kidnapped, and I also have OFA. There are more detailed explanations but that's the gist." Hunter Izuku explained.
"You three can nerd out about the details at the dorms. Speaking of, our visitors are not to leave your sight, problem child. Don't act rashly again and start a fight, or I WILL be expelling you." Aizawa said, giving another glare. "Look at me and say you understand." When he got a nervous confirmation from the fire user, he continued. "Good, I'm going back to sleep. I expect you two to be gone in the morning." Aizawa said, glaring at the inter dimensional visitors. With the pleasantries out of the way, he left without another word.
"Jeez, he really is a hard ass in every dimension." Hunter Izuku muttered under his breath. "Lead the way, fire scrub. I've still got to fix this thing and I'm sure mini me here can answer them for you." He said. The trio made their way back to the dorms.
"Wow... It's like I never left." Hunter Deku said, stepping into the main area of the dorm building. Red couches and bean bag chairs filled an open area, with them all pointed towards a television. A kitchen was to his left, with a central island for food prep and a fridge, stove, and sink all covered in various dishes suggesting some sweets were made previously. Next to the kitchen was a dining area, where some books and various study material had been left out. "Feels like home."
While Hunter Deku was reminiscing, Viridescent Izuku was trying to put out the rapidly growing fire of chaos that was the entirety of class 1A trying to get a peek at the newcomers. Unfortunately, he was just one man, and they were many, so it took all his energy to push them out and into the actual dorm areas. He hastily brushed off questions like "Who are those guys? Why do they look like you? What is going on?" And more.
Izuku Prime was filled with a sense of dread and he wasn't sure why. Maybe it was because the last time he was here was when he abandoned his friends to protect him. Maybe it was because, while they weren't his exact friends, they were still familiar faces he wasn't ready to face yet. Maybe he just felt like he didn't deserve the privilege of being here. Whatever the case, he was ready to get out of there as soon as possible, as pretending to ignore his classmates from another universe wasn't exactly working. "Hey, Izuku, is that watch going to work anytime soon?" He asked hesitantly.
"Well, its complicated." Hunter Deku spoke. "It says its working, but as you can see, there aren't any portals opening. I think our arrival jostled some things out of place." He said, earning a downcast expression from his younger counterpart. "It's not a huge deal, but it will take a while to fix. Assuming time works the same here as it does in my dimension, I should have this thing up and running in the morning. I am going to have to run to their support lab and fix it there, though. You gonna be okay if I leave you here?" He didn't earn a confident nod by the young lad, but his years of unlearning social cues from Mei told him it was okay. Without another word, he went off to go fix the watch.
Viridescent Izuku walked back over as his older copy left, though he didn't arrive alone. Following him was a Bakugo glaring daggers at the other Izuku, a worried looking Eri clinging to Izuku's shorts, and a very angry looking kitten held in the blonde bombers arms. "I managed to get most of them to leave, but your going to have to live with the company for now." He spoke.
"I guess that's fine." Izuku Prime spoke absently, trying not to meet Bakugo or Eri's eyes. The four of them awkwardly took spots in the living room area, and Bakugo passed off the kitten to distract the young girl.
"So what's your deal, huh?" Bakugo asked, never taking his eyes off the strange newcomer.
"I'm..." Izuku Prime started, before swallowing hard. "In short, I'm another version of Izuku from another universe. Me and the other Izuku came here by accident trying to save someone. We accidentally got into a fight and now we're just trying to get out of here." He said quickly.
"...Huh." Was all Bakugo said before relaxing a bit.
"That's all you have?" Viridescent Izuku asked incredulously. "This isn't at all weird to you?" He asked with wide eyes.
"Pretty much. I mean, he's not Toga, and he definitely not a Twice clone with those threads, so that explanation works for me." The blonde said nonchalantly. "I mean, video games with the same concept have been made, but I guess its a little weird that this is actually happening." He said, moving his gaze over to the small black kitten and scratching behind its ears. "I'm honestly a little more concerned the weird clone of you looks depressed."
Izuku Prime was taken aback by this. He'd thought he'd hidden it pretty well, but then again, he hadn't looked at himself in a while. "Kacchan!?" Viridescent Izuku chastised.
"What?" He said gruffly. "He's got huge bags under his eyes, his hair is all droopy, and he's been avoiding eye contact with any of us this whole time. The dude has obviously got some baggage weighing him down. Regardless of if he's you or a copy of your or whatever, you both have the same tell. So I'll ask again. What's bothering you?"
Izuku Prime had to swallow hard again before he spoke. "My... universe is kind of a mess right now. The villains of my world have basically uprooted hero society, and now what's left of us has to pick up the pieces." While Izuku spoke, Bakugo thought it best to cover Eri's ears. Probably not a good idea for her to hear this after what was essentially a kidnapping had been made against her. "I took it upon myself to fight All For One, and I think I pushed my friends away when I did. Now I'm basically on my own, and I don't even go to All Might for guidance anymore."
The other two boys were left speechless, only able to stare at what was essentially a broken version of Izuku. "To think things could go so wrong for... us? You? That's a lot to take in." Viridescent Izuku said. Bakugo stopped covering Eri's ears, and picked up his cat out of her lap. He moved it over and held it front of Izuku Prime.
"Pet my cat." He said, earning a curious stare from the present company. "Just do it." Izuku Prime reached a hesitant hand out to pet the cat when it hissed at him, and then unleashed the mightiest growl he'd ever heard. Somehow, the tiny little kitten had essentially roared in his face. Laughter burst out of Bakugo, prompting Eri to laugh, while Izuku was left with a racing mind. That cat has a quirk. Oh my god that cat has a quirk. How does that cat have a quirk. Why does that cat have a quirk.
"Kacchan, what was that for?" Viridescent Izuku asked, outraged at the behavior Bakugo had been displaying.
"That, was to snap him out of his funk." He said, watching as the previously saddened teen was distracted by his current racing mind. "Hey." He said, snapping in Izuku Prime's face to regain his attention. "Listen up. Your gonna have a bad moments. We all do. That's part of the hero gig. But the bad times aren't what define us. It's what we do after that's important."
"Right now, your caught up in one big bad moment, and you are unable to see what to do next. And maybe you don't ever figure that out on your own. But that's okay, because you don't have to do it on your own. If our universe is even a little bit like yours, then you have a small army of friends that will help you out with what you're going through. So stop trying to be a one man army. If this guy can't do it, you don't stand a chance." Bakugo said elbowing his friend in the ribs.
"That was a... surprisingly emotionally intelligent thing for you to say." Izuku Prime said.
"That's cause I'm the most emotionally intelligent fucking person here." Bakugo said with a shit eating grin.
"Alright, don't get ahead of your self, hothead." Viridescent Izuku said nudging Bakugo back.
Izuku Prime could feel some tears welling up in his eyes. Of all people, he never expected Bakugo to be the one to set things into perspective for him. He was right. He Amy have been a terrible friend in the last few moments he was with them, but he still had more ahead of him that could make up for it. He wiped the tears from his eyes. He made a promise to All Might that he wouldn't be such a crybaby, after all. "How did you two become such close friends in this world." Izuku Prime asked.
"Oh well, you know, we grew up together and stuff." Viridescent Izuku said. "He helped me figure out how to stop being afraid of my quirk, and I helped him be slightly less of a jerk to everyone." He said, earning a glare from Bakugo. "Honestly, it makes me a little sad to hear you say that. It sounds like you and your Kacchan aren't quite as close as we are."
"Oh... well..." Izuku trailed off. Best not to trauma dump everything. Suddenly, Hunter Deku burst back into the dorm.
"I greatly misjudged how much time it would take to fix this." He announced. "Also, I may have broke a few things in the support lab, which means we should leave before Power Loader gets mad at me." He pushed some buttons into his watch, and a portal crackled to life in the dining are of the dorm. "Whenever you're ready."
Izuku Prime turned back to his newly made friends. "Looks like I've got to go. I'm grateful for your help and your advice." He said.
"Don't thank us yet, we're coming with you." Bakugo spoke, hopping up from his spot on the couch.
"We are?" Viridescent Izuku asked concerned. "Hang on one second. Kacchan, can you talk with me by the stairwell for a moment." The two made their way over to the stairwell and continued. "Listen, I get that you want to be helpful, but we have our own problems to deal with. Someone literally tried to kidnap Eri TODAY. We can't just leave out of nowhere."
"Then stay, I don't care." He said, getting ready to head upstairs to grab his costume. When Izuku grabbed him to protest, he snapped back. "Listen, that you is very clearly suffering, and whether its you or another, I can't just let him suffer. I fully trust Yao-Momo and Shitty Hair to protect Eri with their lives, and I think it would do you some good to let someone else worry about her for a while. So I'm going. You coming?"
"...When did you get so emotionally intelligent?" Izuku asked with a wry smile.
"When I stopped being a fucking nerd and started caring about others, nerd." He said back with his own grin. The two ran upstairs and came back down with their costumes fully equipped. "So, tall Deku and regular Deku, where we goin."
Hunter Deku turned to his now growing army of young heroes.
"Take a step in and lets find out."
Hell yeah, this story is back. I've been ridiculously busy for the past month, but I'm finally back and ready to work some more. I know some of you are anxiously awaiting what happens on the Bakugo side of the story, and we'll get there. Eventually. For now, I hope you enjoy, and I'll see you in the next chapter.
