"Alright Moon, you're stuck with Dawson." The officer said as he pushed Austin into the cell. He glared at the officer as he locked the gate but Officer Young just smiled back at the criminal.
Once Officer Young left Austin huffed before turning around to see his inmate. He couldn't see much for the figure was turned away and it was dark, but he could definitely make out a female figure.
"Hello?" Austin called out, wondering if the girl was asleep or not.
She didn't respond to him but it was also late so he figured she was just asleep. He shrugged it off before getting into his own little bed.
The next morning was hectic for Austin, when he woke up his cell mate was gone and he could hear the footsteps of the other prisoners.
He quickly got ready before an officer came to let him out of his cell. Since it was his first time here he was escorted to the dining hall.
After Austin was guided to the cafeteria he got in line, grabbing a plastic tray off the tall stack.
He was minding his own business, just checking out the area when some red headed dude came up to him, his bright orange hair and suit truly made him look like a carrot.
"Hi! You look new here. My name's Dez, what's your name blonde guy? Have you met Officer Young yet? He's the coolest dude and his girlfriend Laura who visits occasionally is sooo hot. You may have a chance with her, you're pretty attractive. Do you like llamas? I LOVE llamas. There's a really cute girl here, her name is Trish and she really liked animal print. I'm thinking of asking her out. Do you like animal print? Ooh maybe after breakfast they'll let us outside. We can go-!"
The redhead now known as Dez, was interrupted as Austin placed a hand over his mouth to stop his rambling.
"Austin, my names Austin." He said , still clamping his hand over Dez's mouth. He removed it slowly hoping he wouldn't go on another ramble.
"Hi Austin! Do you like pancakes? Olga makes the best." Dez said, winking as they approached the lunch lady, she smiled before handing a small stack of hotcakes to both boys. Austin and Dez thanked her before getting a few other sides.
Once they finished making their plates they found an empty table and sat down. Austin started cleaning his plate, listening to Dez talk.
"-And so that's how I got chicken pox at four years old and it led to my arrest. What about you Austin? Why did you get arrested?" Dez asked as he finished his story. He had spent the past 5 minutes explaining his arrestment in great deal.
Austin choked on his food, while it was quite expected for other prisoners to ask why you were arrested Austin still hadn't expected someone to actually ask why he was there.
He coughed for a minute before Dez handed him his water, he gulped the whole thing down before setting the glass back on the table.
"I uhm, it's quite embarrassing." Austin replied, his cheeks lightly pink.
"Oh come on! I'm sure it's not that bad. I mean you didn't murder someone right?" Dez said half joking.
"No I didn't murder anyone, I uhm, I illegally downloaded movies." Austin said, his cheeks even pinker.
Dez started laughing, he was laughing so hard he was starting to choke and bringing attention to their table.
"I didn't know it was an illegal website! And I didn't expect for the police to show up at my door!" He huffed, annoyed and embarrassed.
At this point Dez was rolling around on the floor laughing, he was laughing so hard he was crying. Austin rolled his eyes before getting up and returning his tray.
Eventually Dez was able to calm himself down and get off the dirty floor. He dusted himself off before dumping his own tray and joining Austin back at their table.
"So who's your roommate? Mine is this guy named Trent, he's a jerk but he's quiet so whatever." Dez questioned.
"I don't know," Austin shrugged, "When the officer threw me in my cell last night it was late and the girl was asleep. Officer Young said "Alright Moon you're stuck with Dawson." So I don't know her first name." He explained.
Dez's jaw dropped open. He was so shocked he just dropped the juice carton he had been holding, thankfully for Dez it was empty.
"Dude what? Did I get stuck with a murderer?" Austin joked.
Dez nodded grimly. Austin's face paled as his eyes bulged and jaw dropped like Dez's had.
"Are.. are you serious?" Austin asked bewildered.
"Yeah, she was arrested at sixteen for the murder of her parents. She's been here the longest and she's still got a year left." Dez explained.
"Woah," Austin said in surprise, he couldn't believe a sixteen year old killed her own parents.
"How...how old is she?" Austin inquired, he wanted to know how long this girl has been here.
"She's twenty-eight and she's going to be released July 28th, 2024." Dez answered matter of factly.
"2024? Dude she's really been here for twelve years?" Austin questioned baffled.
Dez nodded grimly, "Yeah that's what happens when you murder your parents." He replied.
The boys talked for a few more minutes, engaging in conversation about video games, horror movies, and girls.
The bell rang, signaling breakfast was over.
"See you later Austin, stay safe. Rumors say she kills her cellmates in their sleep. Have fun bye!!!!" The redhead skipped out of sight, leaving the blonde shocked and scared.
As terrified as he was, the man retreated back to his cell, where said murderer was sitting on her bunk, her back facing him.
Austin stood awkwardly in the door way, Officer Starr was behind him waiting to lock up but he really didn't want to be left alone with this psycho.
Officer Young eventually got annoyed of Austin stalling the door way and shoved the blonde
i nto the cell, smirking as he locked it up and walked away.
The girl, or The Murderess as Dez liked to call her looked up briefly as he entered the cell. She stared him down for a minute (which made him quite uncomfortable) before returning her eyes back to her book.
Austin sat down on his bed, he picked up a random book which he pretended to read but he really just wanted to study the girl.
She rose up from her bed and he could see she was quite petite. Which honestly surprised him a girl this size (a/n: I am in no way trying to body shame Laura Marano she is really small but she's beautiful) could murder not one but two people.
As she stood up tall (or as tall as someone her height is) her long chocolate curls fell down. Her hair was really long, at least down to her waist. It cascaded down her back in perfect ringlets.
As Austin moved his eyes to the rest of her he got a got a good look at her face. She was very pale with rosy cheeks. She had big brown doe eyes, which looked so innocent but he could tell they held dark secrets.
She wore the same bright orange jumpsuit as everyone else, Austin would think it would hang loose on her but it fit her like a glove.
Austin hadn't realized he had been till staring till said girl was on his bed glaring at him. He snapped out of it, eyes wide as she crawled closer to him.
"Who are you?" She whispered in a cold and harsh tone.
"Uh...your new roommate?" He answered meekly, he was practically a foot taller than the girl and probably much stronger yet she looked so much more intimidating.
"I know that dimwit, I meant what's your name?" She asked, now sounding less harsh and just more annoyed.
"Oh, Austin Moon." He replied, sitting up as she scooted back.
"Ally Dawson." She said as she stuck her hand out towards him, he hesitated to shake it but once she started glaring at him he hurriedly shook it.
Her name echoed in his brain, Ally Dawson...Ally Dawson...Ally Dawson...Ally...Ally...Ally...Ally...Ally...Ally...Ally..."AUSTIN!" His thoughts were cutoff by a loud slap.
He turned back to Ally as he held his now throbbing cheek.
"Hey! What was that for?" He asked annoyed.
"I tried talking to you for like five minutes, you blanked out after I said my name. Do you have memory problems? Are you like Dory from Finding Nemo?" She asked in a much lighter and childlike tone.
He chuckled at her, he found it hilarious how mere minutes ago he was worried she would kill him in his sleep and now she's asking if has mental problems like a Disney fish... actually that's still terrifying.
"No I don't have memory problems, I just blank out a lot." He answered truthfully.
She shrugged her shoulders and went back to her own bed, retrieving the brown book he had seen earlier. She snatched a pencil from her small smithy stand and started writing furiously.
Austin walked over to her bed to try and peek over her shoulder, she snapped her book shut and glared at him as hard as she could till he retreated back to his bunk.
Austin backed away carefully, the girl could sound and look like an innocent child at times but other times she could look at you and you'd be dead.
Austin spent the rest of the day reading the book on his nightstand, sparing glances at the mysterious brunette once in a while.
A few weeks had passed since Austin had become a prisoner. Over this few weeks he got to know Dez and the mysterious brunette better.
He and Dez would sit at the same table every day during breakfast. They would spend the whole hour just talking and shoveling food down their throats as fast as they could.
Ally preferred to just listen to Austin instead of talking his ear off like his Dez.
The weird part was he only saw Ally in their cell. She was always gone when he woke up but never at breakfast. She was always there when he came back but when they left for their daily hour outside she disappeared again.
Every once in a while he would catch her talking to a Latina in the halls, but then as soon as he spotted them they disappeared.
Austin thought it was odd how she only saw him in their cell but shrugged it off anyway.
Today was a working day. The prisoners were starting a garden for the facility, Austin was very excited. He thought the place could use a little color.
As everyone lined up to go outside yet again that special brunette was nowhere to be seen. He looked everywhere for her and I mean everywhere.
He saw Dez and Trish standing next to each other in line but Ally was nowhere to be seen. It seems as if everyone was in on some big secret about her that they refused to tell Austin.
Sighing in disappointment once again he turned back to Trish and Dez. They were chatting about something called Zaliens? According to them it was a horror movie but Austin had never seen nor heard of it. Both fans were shocked when they learned that information.
"What!? How have you never watched Zaliens!? Do you live under a rock!?" The fiery Latina shouted at him, he backed up against the wall.
"Sorry, I'm just not a big horror fan." Austin replied blandly.
Trish shook her head in disappointment as Dez thought for a minute.
"Wait a minute, Austin how old are you?" Dez questioned, he knew Austin was most likely the youngest prisoner here but he wasn't sure how young.
"18." Austin answered truthfully.
"Ohh, that makes sense now! You're just a baby no wonder you haven't seen it." Trish said, acting as if she had solved a case.
"Hey I'm not a baby! I'm in adult prison!" Austin shouted, crossing his arms and stomping his foot like a toddler.
Trish and Dez both rolled their eyes before giving him a "Really" look, Austin rolled his own eyes before uncrossing his arms.
Austin glanced around the area as Trish and Dez engaged in another conversation about horror films. He began to think about the mysterious brunette when he realized Trish probably knows where she is.
"Trish!" Austin whisper-yelled into her ear, tapping her shoulder rapidly.
She turned around before rolling her eyes at Austin, "What child, I was talking to Dez about Swamp Bride." She huffed.
"Yeah yeah, do you know where Ally is? She's never with us when all the prisoners are together. I only see her in our cell." He asked eagerly.
As Austin finished speaking he noticed a sly smirk on her face, her face screamed mischief.
"Why do you want to know where Ally is? Does someone have a crush on her?" She asked, whispering the last part.
Austin blushed insanely, instead of planting roses in the prison garden they should plant Austin because he was redder than any of those roses.
Trish jumped up and down excitedly, "I knew it! You do have a crush on Ally! No wonder you're so curious about her." The Latina cheered.
Austin immediately stopped her before she started attracting others attention, "Are you crazy!? I don't have a crush on Ally! I only wanted to know why she always disappears." The blonde lied.
Suddenly Dez popped up behind them, scaring the duo. "You sure you don't like her buddy? Whenever I pass by your guys cell you're always making ga-ga eyes at her." Dez said.
Austin quickly denied their allegations but the duo both knew he was lying. They'll get him to admit it one day and hopefully that day Auslly will be born. Oh yeah, Trish and Dez totally ship the roommates. Who wouldn't? They would be an adorable couple.
Austin sighed as he reached for the prison-provided phone. He had been there for a month and he was finally allowed his first phone call.
He hesitantly began dialing his mothers phone number. Neither of his parents knew where he was for he was an adult and the police didn't need to contact them.
He knew his mother was going to blow up at him because who disappears two weeks after their eighteenth birthday and hasn't contacted any of their family in over a month?
The phone rang three times, he was about to hang up on the fourth ring when she finally answered.
"Hello?" Mimi Moon asked, unaware of who was calling her.
"Hey mom", Austin answered nervously,
"Austin!? Where are you? Why did you leave and not take your cell phone? Are you okay? Did someone take you? Mike! Austin is on the phone get down here!" She exclaimed all of that without taking a breath.
"Mom I'm fine, I'm just in...prison."
"Prison!? Why are you in prison?! Austin Monica Moon I swear if you hit someone with your car or got drunk you can kiss pancakes goodbye forever."
Austin rolled his eyes at his mothers lame punishment, he was an adult who knew how to cook and could make his own pancakes.
"I didn't hit anyone with my car and I didn't get drunk Mom, you know I don't drink and I'm a very careful driver." Austin stated.
"Well why are you in prison then?" Mimi asked, half curious and half furious.
"I may or may not have illegally downloaded some movies which I swear I didn't know was from an illegal website."
Austin didn't hear a response from his mother, the only noise you could hear was a small slap which was obviously Mimi slapping her forehead.
"Austin I've told you a million times to be careful when downloading things, you may have my looks and talents, but you really take your father's stupidity don't you?" Mimi said, baffled by her sons idiocy.
Austin rolled his eyes at his mothers insult, he knew she was right but it was still annoying.
"I know mom, but prisons not even that bad. And I'm only gonna be here for what another eight months?" He replied, unsure of his answer.
"Eight months!? Do your father and I at least get to visit you? I don't want to go almost a year without seeing my baby boy."
"Yes eight months, and the officers said I could have visitors once a week starting next month." He replied .
Austin saw Officer Young staring at him and he knew it was time to wrap things up. He quickly said goodbye to his mother, promising she could visit soon, and retreated back to his room.
When he entered the cell it was vacant of the older woman he shared it with. Her bed was perfectly made and her leather brown journal sat perfectly atop the small nightstand yet she was missing.
He checked their bathroom to see if she was there yet it remained empty too. Since he couldn't leave the cell he shrugged it off and laid down to take a nap.
He awoke from his nap with a pounding headache. He rubbed his head softly to try to ease the painful ache, although that only made it worse. Colors started invading his vision, he felt lightheaded and his knees were wobbly. The last thing he saw was the missing brunette before he blacked out.
He awoke in the prison infirmary. He was thankful he had been here before otherwise he'd have lost his mind in an unfamiliar setting. He sat quietly for a moment, observing his surroundings as his eyes tried to focus clearly.
His vision wouldn't clear up, he squinted angrily trying to see straight but all he could see was distorted colors and images. He closed his eyes and laid back down again, hoping that would work.
He was about to fall asleep again when the door opened again, he shut his eyes swiftly and pretended to still be asleep.
Soft footsteps bounced off the floor, he could hear the gentle voice of his cell mate, and the not so gentle voice of his fiery friend.
"Trish come on, I was just saying it was a scary experience. You have no idea what it's like to see someone you care about limp body lying on the floor with blood pouring out of them." He heard Ally whisper.
"Girl you literally murdered your parents, what's the difference with them and Austin?" The Latina responded.
"Trish that was years ago, and I said someone I care about. I don't give a crap about those manipulative, narcissistic, selfish, abusers. Austin is nothing like them."
"Wait you care about him? Aww that's so sweet! Looks like Grandma's got a crush on the baby!"
Ally's footsteps stopped at Trish's words, "Grandma? Baby? Crush? Trish what are you talking about." She asked confusedly.
"Do you not get it? You're ten years older than him, you guys could never date. He's practically a baby to us." The Latina answered.
While Austin's eyes were still closed he could practically hear the blush radiating off his cellmates cheeks.
Ally shook her head so violently Austin could feel the wind from her hair, she muttered a few inaudible words to Trish before walking next to Austin's cot and sitting on the chair behind him.
She grabbed his hand which shocked him , she ran she fingers along the lines of his hands. She grabbed his hand to place it against hers, measuring the two.
"Either he's got really big hands or you're just extremely small, look at that size difference!" The Latina exclaimed behind Ally.
Ally dropped his hand and ushered Trish over to a corner where Austin couldn't pick up their words.
At this point they knew he was awake, they knew from the beginning they just wanted to see how uncomfortable he would get plus watch him squirm for fun.
"You know Ally on my weekly hour of screen time I was watching some videos and I came across this trick. Apparently if you hold up a persons arm while they're sleeping and it stays up they're asleep, but if the arm drops they're awake. Wanna test it on Austin?" Trish asked eagerly.
"Sure Trish, I'll hold up his arm and if it stays up he's asleep right?" She said, making sure to enunciate the last bit.
"Yep, now go on let's make sure he's really asleep."
Ally snatched his arm, holding it upright for several seconds before letting it go.
The girls couldn't stop their giggles as Austin held his arm up while he "slept". They had proved he was easily gullible but it was hilarious.
"Well I guess he's asleep then, I'll just push his arm back down." The brunette spoke.
Stopping her fit of giggles Ally stepped closer to him, pushing his arm down and getting right in his face.
She traced his features delicately, running her fingers along his nose, cheeks, eyebrows. She stopped right around his mouth, where she smirked before tracing her fingers along the lines of his Cupid's Bow. His breathing hitched as she traced the lines of his mouth, her soft fingers against his lips was a strange feeling but he was more than ready to welcome it.
Just when he started getting comfortable with her tracing his face she swiftly removed her hand, Austin pouted slightly before remembering he was "asleep".
Ally remained a somber expression as she got an idea, she smirked which was only visible to Trish before pushing herself onto his cot.
She sat on top of his chest, carefully trying not to crush his ribs with her weight but she doubt it would hurt him.
She laid her head down on his chest, enjoying the sudden hitch in his breathing, too tease him even more she planted gentle kisses all along his face, relishing in the fuchsia shade painted across his face.
She planted more kisses, stopping right by his lips before swinging her legs off the cot. She returned to Trish who was dying laughing in the corner. The two sauntered towards the door, enjoying their accomplished goal of teasing Austin.
"Bye Austin," Ally said as she waved him bye. Austin opened his eyes as the door shut behind them but opened again moments later by his breakfast buddy.
"Hey Austin! How are you feeling buddy? Do you know why the girls are cackling like witches in the hallway? Also why is your face the color of my mothers hot pink cell phone case?" Dez questioned.
"Woah slow down dude, and um the girls are laughing because they, uh, yeah." Austin answered, his cheeks flaming an even brighter pink.
"Okay bud, anyways Ms. Garcia," he flashed a smile towards the older Latina woman in the corner who Austin hadn't noticed there till Dez pointed her out. "cleared you to leave so let's go buddy, they got a new shipment of books!" Dez exclaimed in an extremely enthusiastic tone only people who love to read would understand.
And so the two boys left, one excited about hanging out with his friend and checking out the new books and the other frazzled, confused, slightly feverish, sort of excited about the books, and still burning red.
Months after the nurse room, incident Austin and Ally grew closer while she still remained as mysterious as ever. They would talk often, about movies, books, the relationship between Dez and Trish, and their favorite subject, music.
The duo learned they had an equally strong shared passion for music which made their time there much more doable.
They would talk for hours on end about their favorite genres and artists, songs and albums, instruments and techniques, the list went on and on.
On this particular day Austin and Dez were sitting at their usual table as they ate breakfast. Discussing one of their favorite subjects, girls.
"Come on Aus Trish is super hot." Dez argued.
"She's pretty, but I don't know Dez, pale brunettes just appeal to me more." Austin countered.
"A peel? Are you saying brunettes are bananas?" Dez asked fascinated.
"What? No." Austin replied.
"Lame, but I gotta go so see ya dude. Have fun with your banana!" Dez shouted before exiting the cafeteria.
Austin halfheartedly waved goodbye before clearing their trays. Once they were returned he was met by Officer Young who was ready to take him back to his cell.
"Hey man, crazy you're going to be out of here in a few months. I'm going to miss seeing your cute face." Officer Young said as he greeted Austin.
Austin was a little weirded out by his comment but brushed it off, Officer Young often said strange things to him.
The two quickly walked to Austin's cell where he was greeted by his favorite brunette who was splayed across her bed face down.
Officer Young quickly left after sending a flirty wink towards Austin.
Austin quietly tiptoed to his bed, poor Ally looked like she was having a breakdown and did not want to be disturbed.
He collected the book from his nightstand, returning to where he saved his page. He read quietly for several minutes till he heard a small whisper.
"Austin", she said, slowly lifting her head up.
"Yeah?" Austin asked as her folded his page before turning towards her. His chill demeanor quickly changed as he noticed the tear stains across her cheeks.
He swiftly walked over to her bread, enveloping her in his arms as she sobbed.
"Ally please tell me what's wrong." He begged.
"I'm a monster," she whispered through tears.
"What?" He asked confused, despite knowing the girl for months he truly did not know much about her.
"I said I'm a monster, I killed my own parents Austin. I killed them. I'm a murderer."
He didn't know how to answer that, no one besides Dez when he was first talking about Ally had actually admitted the fact that she was a murderer, so it was weird to hear her admit that.
He tried to calm her down, he had been told how her parents were horrible, abusive, pricks who deserved to die, but he could tell she still felt remorse.
He let her sob on him off hours and he just held her, they sat for hours crying, talking, and eventually he was able to make her laugh.
More weeks passed and the two grew closer than ever. He started to see Ally outside of their cell and the two would hang out with Trish and Dez.
The quadrant would eat breakfast together in the mornings and on this particular morning they were discussing one of their favorite subjects again, horror movies.
"So Ally, do you have a favorite horror movie?" Dez asked curiously.
Ally thought for a moment as she finished chewing, she swallowed before answering.
"Zaliens 1. Easy." She responded sassily.
"Twenty bucks." Trish said as she stuck her hand out towards Austin, he slapped an imaginary twenty in her hand before rolling his eyes at the group.
After her and Dez's discovery of Austin's dislike for horror movies they made a bet with him to see if Ally liked horror movies. He thought she would hate them but Dez and Trish thought she would love them.
"Did you guys make a bet on something?" Ally asked confusedly.
"Yeah, babyface here has never watched a horror movie and we bet on if you would like them or not." Trish answered.
"Wait a minute, if you don't like Zalien movies what do you watch? Do you even have a favorite movie?" Ally asked Austin.
At the question Austin's cheeks tinted pink. He hadn't expected them to ask them and he most certainly did not want to answer.
"Ooh he's blushing, it's gotta be a good movie." Dez said deviously.
"Come on Austin, why don't you tell us? I'm sure it's a good movie." Trish said, inching closer to him.
Austin rapidly shook his head no. There was no way he was going to reveal his favorite movie to them.
"Please share with us Austin, I'm dying to know. The suspense is killing me. It would be a shame to let the conversation die wouldn't it?" Ally asked, an innocent smile on her face.
The three stared at her silently, they knew they were teasing Austin but Ally definitely had the darkest humor of the bunch.
"What?" Ally asked innocently, munching on her piece of fruit.
"Jeez Als, you know I love dark humor but that's a little too dark." Trish said.
"Whatever, so Austin, are you gonna tell us or not?" Ally asked, staring right into his eyes.
He knew now there was no getting out of it.
He dropped his head into his already crossed arms.
"Barbie Princess Charm School", he sighed.
Trish smirked, "Sorry can you say that louder? I can't hear you." She smiled innocently knowing full well that she could hear him and just wanted him to make a fool out of himself.
"I said my favorite movie was Barbie Princess Charm School!" He shouted frustradely while standing up now, he blushed a deep red as he realized the whole cafeteria was now staring at him.
He rolled his eyes before sitting back down and placing his head back into his arms as the trio struggled to breath from their laughter.
After a few minutes of constant laughter Austin was starting to get annoyed.
"Ok I get it, I announced my favorite movie was some girly movie in front of the jail ha ha ha can we move on now?" He pleaded, his requests were short lived though as they still continued laughing.
"I think I'm crying!" Trish said in between fits of laughter, they all laughed even harder but Austin just rolled his eyes at the childish trio before getting up and taking his tray away.
After returning the lunch tray he still had twenty minutes before he had to be back in his cell so he just wandered around the halls.
The halls were unusually quiet although it made since because the majority of the people were in the cafeteria.
As he continued walking around he couldn't but help get a nagging feeling something bad was going to happen soon. He tried to brush it off but it was still in the back of his mind.
Soon he had forgotten about the feeling and went to his favorite pastime, which was daydreaming about Ally.
He causally strolled through the hallways while thinking about Ally, from her long curly brown hair, to her perfect pale skin, or her beautiful chocolate eyes...
Unfortunately Austin was too absorbed in Ally-Land to notice the figure trying to attack him. He was easily nabbed and knocked out with a mysterious substance.
He woke up hours later with a throbbing headache and aches in his body everywhere. He groaned as he tried to sit up, more pain entering his system.
After a few moments he was able to open his yes and the first thing he saw was blood. Dark, bright, old, fresh, cold, warm, blood.
He was covered in blood, his uniform was covered in blood stains and dirt. His knuckles had dried and fresh blood on them. He instinctively touched his face which was caked in dry blood.
He tried to look around but cringed in pain as a bright light infiltrated the room. A shadowy figure entered, Austin couldn't make out the persons face but he could tell from the figure it was a man.
The man walked over to him, crouching down next to Austin's limp figure, he looked into Austin's eyes as a look of recognition and fear crossed Austin's face.
The man smirked at the terrified boy, relishing in his fear.
"Well look who it is, Mr. Dawson, don't think I don't watch you Austin, I see everything."
"Wha-what do you want from me?" Austin stuttered.
"Isn't it obvious pretty boy? A fine piece of meat like you would do great at my shows."
"What are you talking about?"
"Well Blondie, why do you think your roommate is always disappearing? Always coming back tired and sore. Didn't you ever notice me and her disappearing for hours on end? If not, you should really stop bleaching your hair, eh actually don't, that color looks good on you." He winked.
"I don't understand... and my hair is natural!" Austin defended.
"Not the brightest of the bunch I see, well your looks will suffice."
"Again, I don't understand what you mean." Austin said.
Austin's kidnapper just started laughing, his loud, booming voice echoing off the bare walls of wherever they were. He chuckled for a few minutes before walking over to a curtain display. He yanked the drawstring which pulled the curtains back, then revealing a cork board.
The blood rushed out of Austin's face as he realized what was going on. The man was running a black market. Hundreds of good looking people's pictures on the board, some having "SOLD" stamped in bright green letters, others saying "RENTING" in red letters.
Austin became horrified as he saw Ally's picture and then his own next to her. Both had "RENTING" in the daunting red letters.
Fear washed down his body, paralyzing him.
The man got a kick out of seeing his reaction, it filled him with a sick joy.
"Why are you doing this Officer Young?" Austin whispered, tears were starting to form in his eyes.
"Money, Revenge, Boredom, Fun, your choice." He said, shuffling around as he cleaned up the area.
"What are you going to do me?" Austin asked, his voice small and weak.
"Well we got to get you ready for the show tonight don't we? There's a big auction tonight." Officer Young said, a maniac smile forming on his face.
Young grabbed a few items and started walking towards Austin, he was just about to touch him when someone knocked down the door and he was knocked unconscious by some item.
"AUSTIN!" A voice screamed at him, he was immediately attacked by the small figure, engulfing him in a hug.
"Ally?" Austin questioned out of disbelief , tears of relief forming.
"It's me." She smiled, tears forming in her eyes too.
She knew there was no better time than now to do what she had been wanting to do for months so she did it. She cupped his face delicately and kissed him like her life depended on it, which it did. She knew without him she wouldn't have survived her final year in the jail.
They kissed for a minute when they were interrupted by the police force.
They awkwardly pulled apart as Ally began explaining the situation and revealing the scheme Officer Young had going on for years.
An ambulance arrived and Austin was taken in as Young was put in a cop car once he woke up.
Ally rode with Austin in the ambulance as he was taken to the hospital. She held his hand as bones were set into place and needles were stuck in his veins.
Once they were discharged they went back to the jail cell where Austin fortunately was released from his sentence and allowed to go home.
Over the months after his return home he would still make weekly visits to the jail, and call or send letters whenever he could.
After a few months of visiting and calling and sending letters Austin and Ally finally stopped "denying their strong chemistry" and started dating. Much to the relief of Trish and Dez.
As for Officer Young he was put into a more.. extreme prison for more serious crimes, and was sentenced for life for the mistreatment of inmates.
Trish and Dez started dating soon after Auslly was born and became the "It Couple" at prison.
July 28th, 2024.
Today was the day. Ally was going to be released and Austin knew the perfect way to celebrate, with a ring.
It was currently 11am, she was to be picked up at twelve and Austin anxiously patted the ring box in his pocket again.
After he had been released he lived with his parents for a few months before finding a job and eventually moving into an apartment.
He checked his hair in the mirror again making sure it was perfect. He made sure he had everything he needed before leaving his home.
The drive was bumpy and filled with anxiety, probably due to Austin not having the best driving skills and being super anxious.
Finally after 45 minutes he arrived at the jail where he found her signing papers. He quietly waited in the waiting area as she finished signing.
After twenty minutes she was released and she ran straight into his arms. He spun her off her feet as she roughly kissed him.
And then after their tearful reunion the former inmates left, leaving the jail behind them forever.
After they left the jail Austin proposed on the courtyards, he gave a long sappy speech about them and the hardships they went through but still made it together.
She on the other hand was in tears the whole time, shocked someone as wonderful as Austin would date her, much less marry her.
But of course she said yes, and the two rode off to their now shared apartment.
They had gotten married a year and a half after Austin's proposal.
By then Trish and Dez had been released and they were the Maid Of Honor and Best Man at their wedding. It was a lovely ceremony with their few close friends, Austin's parents, and Ally's long lost sister she had reconnected with.
As they stood at the altar everyone could feel the love radiating off them, despite their big age gap and the differences in their lives they were made for each other.
"And till your sentence is over do you part, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
And Austin did, he kissed her with every ounce of passion he had.
And after the ceremony and reception they rode off into the sunset together, excited to start their new lives.
While Austin and Ally's relationship might have not been ideal to others it was perfect for them because as they would always say, they were cellmates and soulmates.
