College Day Out

The Mason Alternate Universe as always. This is a completely random drabble, a Mason moment in time and certainly not meant to be taken seriously at all. It was just another short to get ideas flowing and into a writing habit again after such a lapse in time. Hope you enjoy, have a great end to your week and thank you for all your support.

Perry Mason Jnr attends a reception at his new college

'Woah!' The exclamation was loud, the following whistle low and long. A hand smacked against the shoulder of Perry Mason Junior halting him in his tracks.

'What?' Perry threw his new acquaintance Theodore Jackson Warren III, or Theo to his family and invited friends, a look of puzzlement.

'Look at the pins on that one!' Theo leered towards a woman stood with her back to them a short distance across the expansive lawn.

'What are you talking about?' Perry looked across at the object of the young mans adoration and inhaled a deep breath. He was about to make comment when Theo added

'Nice ass too.' Perry stiffened and was about to retort when a close friend from high school Ted Oliver had placed a warning hand on his arm. Ted cleared his throat of the chuckle.

'Young Mister Mason, our wealthy but clearly void of emotional intelligence, new roommate seems to have a deplorable lack of social skills when attempting to describe the beauty of the opposite sex.'

Theo looked at Ted with a grimace. True he was a scion of a wealthy northern California family, but with his grades, the odds of him actually passing law school with a good degree were slim to none. The probabilities of his scraping through improved the odds a little. The likelihood of him leaving before the end of the four year course without the coveted, high level law degree from the prestigious university made for a very safe bet.

'I wonder if she's starting the same courses as us?' Nicholas Pickup, the fourth member of their newly formed quartet hung an arm about Theo's neck and squeezed hard with his abnormally large, yet finely honed in the wrestling arena, bicep.

'Hey ya big dumb ox!' Theo almost squeaked in a mix of pain and annoyance before throwing the arm off. 'Careful you don't damage the looks. There are lots of ladies who I have yet to meet.'

All three of the others looked at him with Perry rolling his eyes.

'We're here to study, you have your life ahead of you to romance the ladies.'

'Shesh! Who made you head killjoy!' Nicholas gave a smirk. 'You aiming to live up to your old mans reputation? That, is a heavy burden to carry my friend.'

Perry gave an enigmatic smile. 'My dad expects me to do the best I can, whatever that turns out to be. And I have a long ways to go before I'm even half the lawyer he is. If you guys want to spend your time chasing girls who most likely won't give either of you the time of day, then go ahead.'

'You have no plans to sample the delights on campus?' Theo snorted in derision. The four had met previously but, it was today's reception for the new students and their parents that they had formed a quickly friendship based group. Theo was the wealthy charming one, Nicholas was the overtly large, barrel chested like sportsman on a full wrestling scholarship, with Ted the proverbial best friend to everyone. He didn't come from a wealthy family, his father being the reception manager of the Brent building, and part of his tuition had been paid for by the law firm of Perry Mason when they saw what a talent for corporate law he had shown when taking a part time summer job there the previous year. He had helped Jackson on several occasions and the law clerk had been mightily impressed by the young man's commitment to the law and hard work. Ted was the 'good fellow,' and a friend to most people he had met with. Perry was clearly the most handsome of all four young men. He was dark haired, blue eyed and built solidly. He stood well over six feet three inches and a wide chest tapered down to a slender waist. Although a little on the shy side sometimes, it was very clear to Theo on arriving at campus, who the young ladies would migrate to, hence the reason he had sought out an immediate fledgling friendship with the eldest offspring of California's most famous criminal lawyer.

'None at this time,' Perry explained easily. 'I have a girl and I have no plans to change that.'

'Is she here too?' Nicholas looked about expectantly, hoping to see the lady who his new buddy was clearly smitten with. Given Perry's looks, she was sure to be a stunner in every sense.

'No,' Perry took on a wistful look. 'Sarah has gone to University in San Francisco. The medical school there. It's one of the best I'm told.'

'Well, can't see you lonely and pining,' Theo took on a slick charm which both Perry and Ted suddenly found quite disconcerting. 'There are lots of girls out there for you to try and your girl will never know.'

'That's gross,' Ted gave a little shiver of disapproval. 'Show some respect man. These ladies are here to be lawyers not your entertainment.'

'Well,' by now Theo had taken on an oily, lecherous tone.' I intend to work my way through as many as possible, starting with an introduction to that one over there.' He pointed in the direction of the lady who had inadvertently started that whole particular conversation off.

'You have absolutely no chance with her.' Ted started flatly.

'How do you know? You haven't seen her face yet.' Theo leered again at the legs on display, shapely and sexy in three inch pumps. 'Ladies love me.'

'They love your family money,' joked Nicholas.

'True,' Theo admitted, 'But I'm not one for long term attachments. And the thrill is always in the chase. What can I say, I'm a great hunter.'

'That one's already taken, you've no chance.' Perry looked pointedly at Theo.

'Says who?'

'Me. I know the guy she's with and after all your efforts, the answer will still be no, oh and then when the guy with her finds out, he will pummel you into next week. You'll hurt so bad you'll be taking lunch through a straw. He's pretty possessive from what I've seen.'

'Well, I can give it a try, you never know.'

'I know them well enough to know that your future looks very grim indeed if you try it on with her.'

'Oh yeah, how do you know that?'

Perry and Ted smiled before Perry announced to a stunned Theo. 'Because that's my mother you ass.'
