There were several reasons why I decided to accompany him.
First, he said he had realized his mistakes and he's going to make sure the history doesn't get repeated and everyone treats me with respect. I believed him.
Second, I thought if he went there alone, his family might actually get what they wanted from us!
Or third, as Edward mentioned earlier, maybe I indeed didn't have any dignity or self-respect!
But I regretted my decision instantly once we reached there.
It was a mess!
The mess was not because of the absence of Edward, but well, because of what he did earlier... Or at least that's what his sister claimed!
So apparently Jasper had decided that Alice and he had a few differences that he didn't realize until this point, and they might need to work on them before getting married. He said maybe he wasn't ready for the marriage!
And Alice and her family declared that this was happening because of Edward's irresponsible behavior!
"Are you happy? Did you get what you wanted?" She asked him, "And you just ran away! We didn't even know where to find you! You weren't even answering the fucking calls!"
"Alice... I didn't want this to happen! Why would I be happy for God's sake?" He asked.
"You put that idea into his head! You literally said he could find someone better than me!" She said, "I love him... and he just cares about the fact that apparently I'm very rude and interfering, and I've no respect for other people, which is completely false!"
Oh, come on!
Jasper wasn't going to consider calling off the wedding just because Edward said something! He might have noticed some other issues with their relationship, too!
But well, I have also been making decisions because somebody said something to me, so I'd be a hypocrite if I judged him for doing something similar!
"Way to spoil everything!" She said, "I did what I did because I was worried about you! You've always been so bad at communicating your feelings... And your ego has no bound! I thought you just need a little push to figure out your issues with Angela! Tell me where exactly I was wrong!"
Again, she didn't care about the fact that I was standing not too far from there, and she didn't care about the fact that she was completely disregarding Edward and my feelings!
Looking at Edward, I was pretty sure he was going to lose his mind again, but he managed to control his anger!
"Alice... You need to calm down," he said.
"I know how much you loved Angie... I've been just trying to help and I'm a villain now!" She said.
"Look... Let's keep the focus on Jasper and you right now," he said.
"He loved me, but now out of nowhere he thinks that he doesn't really know me well!" She said, "It's all because of you! I'm never going to forgive you!"
