Chapter 31

He did what was suggested.

The staff made certain that Chusi was outside as Sukuna went through the garden. Everything within was lush and full of vitality. "What the…" he muttered and peered about. He has walked by this place before, it was okay, nothing too fancy nor were the plants lush and volumous. But now… it was as if one walked into a jungle.

The plants were thick with broad green leaves. The flowers were the sides of his hand as everything here was full of life. "Why are they making a big fuss about this?" he wondered. They were plants, nothing more. Even if some were rare, they just didn't interest him anymore.

'Him'

He froze.

Sukuna peered about when he heard a voice. "Whose there!" he demanded. "Show yourselves!"

'It's him…' said another.

All he heard was 'it's him' from the leaves. The voices grew, chatting up that it's him, nothing more.

"What do you want!" he demanded. "You claim it's him, do you speak of me?"

There was silence, but a voice spoke.

'He who was to have our blessing, can no longer be blessed'

"What?" Sukuna muttered. "Your blessing?"

'Cannot be blessed, but will pass along to another,'

"What the hell are you speaking about?"

The voice, went silent, in fact all the voices did as Sukuna looked about. He saw nothing, sensed no life form and yet. Something spoke to him? "What the hell was that?" he muttered.

He left the garden but found an attendant. "You, what else is in that place?" he demanded.

The attendant was stunned. "Just plants, we don't keep living things in the garden, that's a whole different eco system."

"There are creatures in there, they speak of me!" he protested. "Who lives in the garden?"

Once more the attendant shrugged his shoulders, he only knew there were rare plants within the garden, nothing else. But Sukuna knew what he heard, but now, how does he prove it?

He was about to walk away when the attendant called. "It's great that you and your wife will be back next year! The garden really did need a good shot of vitality!" he said with a smile.

Sukuna then realized what that garden fed off of, and why they want him and Chusi back next year.

"Oh hell no…" he growled.

Yua and Chusi returned to the library to read, even Satoru got in on it as he found books of interest to him. Yet, as they were going through their books, Sukuna barged in.

He said nothing but went to Chusi, hucked her over his shoulder and walked out without another word.

The room was dead silent to this, those lingering in the stacks even peered out to see what the commotion was, many had already jumped to a conclusion. "I think one romp in the garden wasn't enough" Yua heard one person say.

She sighed to it as Satoru slinked his way over to her side. "Hey… what was that about?" he whispered.

"No idea, between them. We won't pry" she replied.

"Ah… So… do you want to do what they did in the garden?" he asked with a cheeky grin on his face.

"You've already done your damage." Yua snapped back. "Another time maybe when I am not already pregnant"

"Fair…" he said in a defeated tone. "Still, I'm going to be known as the streaker around here?"

"Live with it…" she muttered and went back to her book. She kept going back to the concept of curse energy. She kept reading into the theory of dragon interference… which would explain a few things, but not everything. If the death of a dragon brought curse energy to the point of manifestation, then why is it when a dragon dies in the earthly realm, its soul cannot disburse? Or is it to prevent other emotions from humans manifesting?

There was much to consider here, and the book of dragons too. She has been reading up on that but doesn't know if any of this information will be retained when she leaves. They still have to bathe in that water to forget most of this place.

"I think I am done reading for now…"

"Oh good, let's go see something in those what if rooms or something good!" Gojo insisted.

"You want to go back to the rooms, go ahead. I think I am going for a nap."

Yua got up to leave, but found Satoru coming right behind her. "You know, a nap sounds good. After all, it's been a while since you and I shared a bed."

She snorted a laugh and nodded. "Let's go for a nap then."
