Welcome back! Chapter two coming out real quick! Trying to get his series started quickly to hopefully attract more readers. Hope you all enjoy it!
Chapter 2:Fresh New Start
The first thought in my mind when waking up is that I have to stop falling asleep on the couch, as that's the only thing that could be this uncomfortable. Groaning as I sit up, a very unexpected view greets me. All around me are what looks like blocks, blocky trees, blocky sun, blocky clouds, and the weirdest one in my mind is the blocky animals. I look around to get my orientation, taking in the forest I woke up in. The trees look to be oak trees but are made of blocks. Towards the sun, is a beach with water as far as I can see. The opposite direction is a forest that seems like it goes on and on. What I assume to be cows wander around letting out the occasional "MOOOO".
"Where am I?" I say to myself. Shocking me out of my stupor, someone actually answers.
"You are in Minecraftia of course, where else would you be!." Whipping my head back towards the forest, I see there is a woman looking to be in her 20s. She is about a 5 '6 orange-haired girl with hair going down to just past her shoulders. Wearing what only looks like a hoodie with a weird face on the hood, She is quite an attractive girl. "I'm Cupa, What is your name!" The girl quickly shoots out while I'm taking in the strange scene of a random attractive girl appearing in this new place.
"Uhhhh- I'm Nick, Minecraftia doesn't sound familiar to me. Is it anywhere near Chicago." I say with my mouth still hanging open.
"Chi-cago? Nah, I've never heard of that place! What are you doing here? I've never seen you before! I always like making new friends!" She shoots out in one breath. Taking a deep breath she starts running towards me.
"Holy shit she's fast!" I think to myself, before I have time to take a step or two back she's crossed the 20 to 30 feet between us and wraps me up in a hug.
"You smell very good! Like the human villagers but even better! Are you human?" Cupa shoots out again just as fast.
"Of course I'm human, what else would I be?" I try to wiggle out of her hug but for her size, she is quite strong. I only manage to have her squeeze harder.
"Holy moly! I only heard stories! You must be a human from another dimension! That is so cool! I have to let everyone else know! You stay here and try to build a house before night! With you smelling the way you do, I don't think the mobs will be very friendly." Cupa takes a deep breath again after spitting that all out. She then turns and starts running farther into the forest.
"How am I supposed to build a house in the middle of nowhere? There aren't even any tools to cut these trees down." I try to yell back at her before she gets too far.
"Oh right! New here. I got it somewhere here." She starts rummaging through the small pocket on her hoodie, making more sound than should be possible with that small of a pocket. "Ah, here it is! Take this and it should help you!" Cupa throws a book towards me and continues running into the forest.
Standing there lost at what is happening I do the only thing I can and pick up the book. "Well, Hopefully, this book can explain some things to me
Minecraftia For dummies
Chapter 1: Getting started
This book is for new people to Minecraftia or anyone who somehow has survived without knowing this basic information. The first rule you must learn is that night is dangerous! Many monsters will come out and try to kill anyone. This guide will help you survive your first night and much more!
The first step is to collect wood, Punch any block and that block will become available to pick up. Once wood is collected Squeezing Items in your hand will compact them into a new item if they are in the right configuration!
Basic Crafting Recipes
1 woodblock = 4 wood planks
2 wood blocks = 4 sticks
4 wood blocks = 1 Crafting table
1 stick + 1 coal = 4 torches
2 sticks + 3 wood planks = Pickaxe
2 sticks + 1 wood plank = Shovel
1 Stick + 2 wood planks = sword
2 sticks + 3 wood planks = axe (Diagonal rather than up and down like pickaxe)
3 wool + 3 wood planks = Bed
Those are the basic recipes you will need to survive your first night. Once you survive the night, Upgrading your tools will be the same recipe but with cobblestone instead of wood planks. Accessing cobblestone is as easy as finding a cave and using the pickaxe to mine some stone! With this guide hopefully, you will be able to survive the night and read the second chapter! Reading the book left me with many more questions. If I punch a tree won't I just break my hand? Looking up, I see the sun is already halfway through the sky. "Well, no time like the present to try! The night is coming soon and the book made it sound very worrisome." Running to the closest tree I close my eyes and punch the tree. Surprisingly, my hand doesn't even sting. Opening one eye, I peek through and see the block has cracks going through it. "Fuck yea! I must have superhuman strength to be able to punch solid wood!" I punch the tree 2 more times before the block pops. "What the hell!" I shout while jumping back. Looking closer I see what looks like a miniature version of the block sitting there. I walk up to it and grab it. Getting a better view confirms what I thought. Picking the block up, I squeeze it in my hand like the book said. When I open my hand back up, There is a small stack of 4 Wooden blocks in my hand but they look processed. "Well, that is definitely easier than back home. This world has some weird rules." Pushing that thought to the back of my head, I punch more of the trees. In total, I collected 24 pieces of wood. Turning those into wood planks nets me 100 pieces. "It is inconvenient to carry all this around, I'll throw some in my pockets." As soon as I do, a screen appears in front of my eyes. "What is this now!".
In front of me now is a screen with a bunch of squares and a picture of myself. The main portion of the screen is a 3 by 9 set of squares. Below that is a 1 by 9 row. Above the main portion, is 4 slots with icons for what looks like armor. "This must be like a video game inventory! This is crazy but very cool!" To test it I move half of my wood blocks to the main area. Pulling my hand from my pocket close the menu. Looking back in my hand I see there are only 50 wood planks now. "Cool! I must be like a video game protagonist. What does that make that girl I saw?" Thinking about it didn't help me figure it out anymore. Giving up, I continued following the guide, crafting myself a sword, shovel, and pickaxe. Thinking about it more I remember there normally is a hotbar in most games. Going back into my inventory, I move my sword to the first slot of the 1 by 9. "Now how do I use it?" Pretending to pull the sword from my waist or back brought no results. Waving my hand around in random directions also bore no fruit. Finally, I came up with the idea to just yell sword. "Yes! It Worked!" As soon as I yelled, the sword appeared in my hand. Putting my pickaxe and shovel in the Hotbar allowed me to yell their names to equip them.
"Now let's get started on this house. Using my shovel I dig up a 3 by 3 square. Replacing the dirt with wood, and throwing 4 walls up quickly gave me a shabby hut. "Beggars can't be choosers, Just need a roof." Throwing the roof on and closing the hole I used to get in, thrusted me into pure darkness. "Well, at least the monsters can't get to me. This day took a lot out of me" With that I take my shirt off and bunch it up as a pillow. Laying my head down, I fall asleep to the sounds of moaning and bone clanking outside my walls.
