The whole afternoon consisted of fun activities that the trolls did to pass the time. At this moment, they were playing Truth or Dare. It was Floyd's turn.
"Truth or Dare," he smiled at June.
"Hmm," she said with a thinking expression. "Dare."
Floyd smirked. "I dare you…to sing a happy song."
June was surprised. "Really?"
"Yep," he said. "Go on," He waved his hand playfully.
June laughed. "Okay." She thought about it for a few seconds until one of her favourite happy songs popped into her head. "Here we go," she let out a deep exhale. Crimp joined in with her ukulele playing during the song.
You're sure to do impossible things
If you follow your heart
Your dreams will fly on magical wings
When you follow your heart
If you have to journey far
Here's a little trick
You don't need a guiding star
Trust your thicker, get there quicker
You're sure to do impossible things
If you follow your heart
You're sure to do impossible things
If you follow your heart
Your dreams will fly on magical wings
When you follow your heart
North or south or east or west
Where to point your shoes?
Which direction is the best?
If the choosing gets confusing
Maybe it's the map you're using
You don't need a chart to guide you
Close your eyes and look inside you
You're sure to do impossible things
If you know where to start
Your dreams will fly on magical wings
When you follow
Just trust the swallow
And always follow your heart
Floyd and Crimp clapped at the end of the tune.
"Thank you, thanks for coming, y'all," June said in a theatrical tone and bowed.
"You should be performing on stage," Floyd said. "You're really talented."
"Oh, I don't know about that."
"Why not?" Crimp said.
"Don't laugh," June said. "But I have a bit of…stage fright. I wanna overcome it because I would love to sing on stage someday."
"One foot then another," Floyd said.
"Yeah," She turned to him. "But it's easy for you. You've performed many times before."
"I'll help you with that."
June said, stunned. "Help me with performing in front of a big audience?"
"Yes. I can see you were born to perform on stage. You said so yourself. You wanna do it but don't know how. I can give advice and help you."
June felt touched at this moment. "Thank you, Floyd. I don't know what to say."
"You just said thanks, so that helps," he smiled.
June laughed. "Okay, my go. Truth or Dare?"
"I'm gonna go with…dare too."
"Oh, really?" she said, eyebrows raised in a teasing way. "Okay. Hmm…I dare you to…yodel in front of us."
"Yodel? Really?"
"Hey, you picked dare, dude." June shrugged. "Come on. You can't sound so bad."
"All right," Floyd said. Once he did his yodeling, it was bad. So much so that June had to keep in her laugh for as long as she could while holding in the need to block her ears. Crimp felt exactly the same and blocked her ears without Floyd looking. Both June and Crimp were glad when it finally ended.
"How was that?" he asked.
June suddenly burst out of laughter. Crimp joined in.
"I know. It's terrible," Floyd said with an embarrassed smile.
June said. "Honestly, yes. But wow. When's the last time I had a big laugh like that?"
"I like your laugh," Floyd said. "It's cute."
June almost blushed. "Thanks."
The song is Follow Your Heart from the 1994 film Thumbelina.
