Well this reminded Yuta the first time Gojo brought him to the Jujutsu High. He was a lot more nervous wreck back then compared to now but it seems his anxiety never truly went away.
After Ruby's sudden declaration, a woman introduced herself as Glynda Goodwitch and brought them to the police station where she explained that they would be questioned. Yuta understood, of course. Both he and Ruby were civilians. As far as he knew, though; since a teenage girl carrying such a large weapon seemed odd, who was he to talk?
They now found themselves in a dimly lit room, with a small table and two metal chairs. They were waiting for someone to arrive and begin the integration process. Neither Yuta nor Ruby had spoken up yet, making the situation rather awkward for both of them. Yuta wasn't very good at making friends right off the bat. He also didn't know much about Ruby, which made it difficult to gauge her personality.
"So you were cool back there," she said, seeming to want the awkward silence to go away.
Yuta allowed himself to smile a little. He was often praised by everyone due to his abilities and strength, but hearing it from a complete stranger felt nice.
"Thank you, but it wasn't that impressive. Just some basic moves and swings." He explained. Yuta was a naturally humble guy, so he didn't actually know how his "abilities" affected others, unlike Gojo-sensei who openly demonstrated his power.
"Basic? I have never seen anyone move that fast and the way you cut those fireballs and the way you reached the roof in a single leap. Are you human?" Ruby now had stars in her eyes and of course was effectively making Yuta's face redder and redder as she went on.
He tried to laugh it off, of course. There were way more impressive people out there. Like Maki, who had become so strong through pure physical attributes. He, on the other hand, was born with very rare and excellent genes.
"Thank you for compliments but like I said you're giving me too much credit." He tried to calm her down.
"Well, whatever you say. But it's so cool to see someone with an awesome semblance and a nice personality. You're like a hero." Ruby said. She was more calm now, but still a little starstruck, it seemed.
Yuta stopped himself from laughing at that one. A jujutsu sorcerer as a hero? They were literally con artists, and most of them weren't sane. Himself included. Yuta couldn't complain though, being messed up there actually quite helpful in this occupation.
"A hero might be a bit much," he tried to explain. He didn't want her to get this idolized version of him in her head and end up disappointed in the end when she learns he isn't close to a hero.
Yuta thought to himself, "Well, if I stick around that long." He hadn't copied the technique that allowed him to open portals, and he didn't know if anyone in this realm had that kind of power.
Ruby was about to open her mouth to answer, but she got cut short when the door to the integration room suddenly opened and Ms. Goodwitch walked in with a very stern and disapproving expression on her young-looking face.
"Thank you for waiting," she said. "Now, I will talk, and please listen." Yuta could see that she was not going to congratulate them for stopping a robbery. Poor Ruby was in for a heartbreak it seemed.
"I hope you two realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly." Goodwitch said as she started circle around them for some reason.
Yuta thought about it. The first thing he literally did in this new world was jump into a fight and swing a weapon. What if it was illegal to have one here? But Ruby had one too, so what did that mean for her? So many questions ran through his head at the moment. His sorcerer instincts were working overtime.
"You put yourself and others in danger." Strict hunteress continued.
"There was no one around though?" Yuta said in a very light tone, not wanting to make her any angrier. In return all he received was a strong glare.
"She looks like Utahime-Sensei when Gojo walks in the room." He thought.
"They started it." Ruby of course tried to defend them. She was ignored.
"If it were up to me, you young lady would be sent home with a pat on the back," Ruby said, smiling as she thought she was being praised. However, Yuta knew better. "And a slap on the wrist," Hunteress finished, striking the table with her crop, which Yuta still found it very weird as a weapon to use.
This action caused Ruby to shrink back with a yelp but Yuta remained still. Seeing the attack coming from miles away. These people were slow.
Goodwitch shifted her gaze to him immediately after. "And you would be staying here longer, young man," she said. "We couldn't find any information on your face registration. You're unknown for now."
Well, that was to be expected. But Yuta was still waiting for that weird energy to enter the room. The person behind the door clearly was waiting for something. They were listening and planning, probably. He didn't even pay attention to Ruby's "That makes you even cooler" comment.
"But there is someone here who would like to meet you two." She said with a sigh. Clearly not agreeing with this outcome.
As soon as the door opened, Yuta sensed the weirdest energy he had ever felt in his life. Even anomalies like him and Gojo-Sensei had organized energy flow, but this person's energy was like those Jenga games Inumaki liked to play sometimes. Just weird shapes stacked on top of each other. Yuta tried to hide his reaction, of course; it would be very suspicious and he was trying to avoid any sort of confrontation with these people since they seemed on the good side of things.
The person who entered was a middle-aged man with tousled silver hair and thin brown eyes. He also had black eyebrows, suggesting his hair color to have been black in his youth. He wore shaded glasses. His attire consisted mainly of an unzipped black suit over a dark green, buttoned vest and green shirt. He also wore black trouser shoes and long, dark-green pants. Additionally, he carried a cane.
"Ruby Rose and Yuta Okkotsu." He said calmly.
"How does he know our names? Although they said face scan so maybe they have recordings from when Ruby and I met."
The Cane Man walked closer to Ruby first. "You have silver eyes." he said in a strange voice.
So the eyes were special, according to this weird soul-shaped man. It would also explain the energy Yuta sensed coming from her eyes earlier.
Man placed the coffee cup and plates of cookies on the table. "So where did you learn to do this?" He pointed towards the tablet screen Ms.Goodwitch holding up. It was showing the fight between them and the robbers. Yuta clearly sees how he literally disappeared and reappeared in front of Ruby when the thief shot that bullet. Maybe he should've gone slower.
"Signal Academy." Ruby answered meekly. Clearly weirded out from the exchange about her eyes. After her answer all eyes in the room turned on him, waiting for his response.
Outside, Yuta looked focused and calm, but inside he was screaming because he was bad at lying. A fact Maki pointed out several times whenever she caught him looking at her. It wasn't his fault she looked so nice after training. After calming his nerves, Yuta opened his mouth.
"There was a small community school in my town; a lot of what I know, I learned there."
"Hmmm...I see. So they taught this young lady how to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed, and you learned to be just as effective with a blade in a community school? How interesting." He was clearly amused by the responses.
Ruby chuckled nervously. "Well, one teacher in particular." That makes two of us, Ruby.
Nerve must have caught up with her because she literally started to inhale the cookies on the table at a rapid pace. It reminded Yuta of one of Panda's favorite anime. Something ball.
"I've seen only one other sycthe-wielder with that skill before. Katana though, is a long story." The silver-haired man said, the last part of his sentence is spoken in a very quiet tone. Once again, Yuta would have missed it without his enhanced hearing.
Yuta had a couple other weapons stashed in Rika, of course. Axes, knives, he probably even has a sycthe in there somewhere.
"A dusty old crow." Man said again which got a reaction from Ruby.
With cookies in her mouth. "Thash muh unkle." Yuta was pretty sure everyone in the room understood her.
"Sorry that's my Uncle Qrow." She said after swallowing her meal fully.
"My teacher isn't someone you know probably. He was very secretive and calm." Total bullshit.
"He's a teacher at Signal. I was total garbage before he took me under his wings." She was really hitting home with those words. "But now I'm all like wuhhaaaa haaaaa." Ruby suddenly stared karate chop the air which Yuta had the dogde a few of them.
"I noticed. So what are two young people like yourselves doing in schools that are designed for training warriors?"
Well, that was hard to answer. Yuta really didn't have a choice but to become a Jujutsu Sorcerer. He was absurdly good at it. Plus, he was getting bullied at school, which led to Rika attacking the bullies and putting them in hospitals. It was destiny for him. It's not like he had a dream to become strong so he could specifically save people; his friends were always on his mind first.
Which apparently wasn't the case for Ruby because she passionately started answering. "Well I want to be a huntress."
"You want to slay monsters?"
"Wait monsters?"
"Well, yeah. I only have two more years at Signal. Then I'm going to apply to the Beacon. You see, my sister is starting there this year and she's trying to become a Huntress. I'm trying to become a Huntress too because I want to help people. Our parents taught us to always help others, so I figured I might as well make a career out of it. Police are okay, but Hunters and Huntresses are so much more romantic and exciting. You know." Ruby finished with an excited squeak.
Which caused everyone in the room to look at her, which in turn caused her to shrink back in embarrassment.
"What is your answer Mr.Okkotsu?."
"Well, I have the power, so why not use it to help others? I don't have a grand dream or goal like Ruby here. I just have power and I use it. It's not very noble, but it helps people nonetheless." He lovesd helping like in the culling games but it was just never his main focus in life.
"No no don't downplay your goals. In the end you still work for the people who can't protect themselves. That's admirable on his own Mr.Okkotsu." Cane user said.
"Do you know who I am?"
"No."
"You're Professor Ozpin. You're the Headmaster Of Beacon." Ruby said.
"Beacon must be the Jujutsu High of this world. Which explains the monster slaying part." Yuta quickly came to a conclusion.
"Well hello to you Miss Rose and nice to meet you Mr.Okkotsu. I'm surprised you haven't heard of me." Ozpin said.
"My hometown is very far and out in the open sooo.", Yuta nervously said. He was pretty sure Maki would laugh her ass off if she was here for his attempt at lying.
"That explains why we couldn't find you in the database. A lot of people outside of the kingdom go unregistered." Ozpin explained.
And it was perfect because Yuta was not gonna come out and said he was from a different world. Pretty sure they would try to send him to an asylum.
"Do you two wanna come to my school?" Ozpin suddenly asked. This nearly caused Yuta to choke as he was biting the last cookie he had picked up, while Ruby was trying to hide her huge smile.
"More than anything." Ruby was quick to answer.
While Yuta was still in the thinking mode, he asked himself, "Should I go?" He didn't have anything on him and he didn't know anything about this place. He was pretty sure you had to have some knowledge to be a student. Though if it's a monster slaying school, he would fit right in. They taught them academics in Jujutsu High, of course, but Gojo being the teacher didn't make it easy. Panda and Megumi carried Tokyo on academics. Hakari didn't show up to classes. Yuta was pretty sure he failed.
This also could be his chance to find a way back too. Yuta was pretty sure Ozpin was something more than he appeared. He was the most powerful being he had come across in this world so far. Being close to him might also lead him to some way to return.
He also knew this could backfire pretty badly, but what did he have to lose? After all, Yuta wasn't one to brag, but even if Ozpin turned hostile, based on his energy levels, Yuta was sure he could take him in a fight. With a decision made, Yuta answered.
"Sure. I'd like to." Second Strongest answered.
Ozpin shared a look with Glynda which displayed her disagreeing with Ozpin.
He turned to them. "Well okay."
"You can now leave Miss Rose. We need to Mr.Okkotsu to fill some forms." Glynda said.
Ruby shot off from her chair leaving a rose petal behind. Moving faster than she did in the fight but Yuta was still able to clearly see her.
"So that's why she said you're like me."
Ruby came back a second later. "See you there Yuta byeee." And she was gone before he can answer.
"This way please." Glynda said while nursing her forehead.
"Sir was that wise? Especially the boy? That aura level is absurd and the speed he showed. As well as the case of him jumping that high. His skill with katana also was clearly the style of someone who's not a stranger to killing." Glynda asked her superior.
"Life outside of kingdoms is hars Glynda. He might have been forced to be trained that way. Also like you said he's extraordinary. Nothing like I've seen before. Better be in Beacon than anywhere else where someone with ill intentions can get to him." Ozpin explained his thought process.
All Glynda could do sigh. "I'll trust you sir."
Now we see Yuta standing in the middle of the street with his katana strapped to his back. Having taken it back from the police by Ozpin's order.
"He must be a pretty big deal."
But at the moment Yuta was struck by a thought.
"Wait I don't have anywhere to sleep. I DON'T EVEN KNOW THE WAY TO THE BEACON."
Now Cut.
Ozpin and Kenjaku need to have Yapping-Off.
After this everything starts so bear with me for these generic fanfic chapters.
Incoming chapter will be long so it's not gonna come out this quick but I'll do my best.
Also Jaune won't be there so I'm think Yuta-Pyrra-Ruby-Weiss team.
Thanks for checking it out and also the advices. There were some I really liked so I'll sit on those for now.
