Chapter 18
A couple of weeks later, Konoha
Things were relatively lively in Konoha as the invasion had been all but forgotten. With the forged alliances and the hidden villages trying to increase their strength. Every shinobi was doing their best to get missions done in an attempt to display the strength of their mission. However, that didn't mean that there weren't different parts of the world that didn't face their own issues. Which means that the local shinobi weren't going to have it any easier.
The strengths and accomplishments of a few are a good way to motivate others. Although, it did give the impression to some that the strength of others was the same strength they had.
"You look like crap." Sasuke told Arashi.
As of right now, Arashi was holding Komoe who was sleeping on his shoulder. Right now, the boy was experiencing the downside of fatherhood. It didn't help that Komoe was refusing to revert into a summoning seal. Not even Mito was having a hard time as the baby ducks she has are willing to revert back.
"This is fatherhood, teme. Life goes by too fast and this happens." Arashi replied.
"You're not even old enough to shave. How did you become a parent?" Sasuke asked.
"I wanted an awesome summoning sidekick. I didn't ask for a kid." Arashi answered as Komoe began to snore. "Speaking of which, how is Tio?" he asked.
Sasuke gave Arashi the same scowl he always has, "I give thanks to my kaa-san." he said.
"Eh?" Arashi asked, sounding confused.
Sasuke sighed, "That perverted reptile won't keep her perverted fantasies to herself. Luckily my kaa-san has been keeping her in line." he explained.
"Yeah, well Tomoe and Tania are always wanting a fight. Those two are so competitive, it even makes me tired." Arashi said. "I swear, I should just ask my tou-san to send me on a crusade or something." He said.
"You don't have that authority and your mother isn't going to let you skip out on parenthood." Sasuke said before Kakashi arrived via shunshin.
"Hello you two. Arashi, I see you brought Komoe-chan. You do realize that today isn't bring your child to work day, right?" Kakashi asked with an eye smile.
Arashi decided to fight back, "And you're almost twice my age. Shouldn't you have a girlfriend?" he asked.
"Silly Arashi, the life of a bachelor is much more comfortable." Kakashi said.
"Are you remembering to pay your child support payments, sensei?" Sasuke asked, reminding Kakashi that he accidentally fathered a child with a kitsune woman.
To think, the Yondaime Hokage almost lost his life trying to seal away the powerful Kyuubi no Yoko. A powerful beast that could destroy mountains, cause tsunami and wipe out hundreds of shinobi with ease. Now the Yondaime's sole surviving student mated with a kitsune woman.
"Sasuke, don't ask any appropriate questions." Kakashi said as he let out a sad sigh. "Also, I know Arashi just came back, but we're still going to be down a team member. Sakura was signed up for a medical class to become a field medic. So she won't be participating with us for a while." he explained.
"At least Sakura is learning her true calling." Arashi commented.
"And she was good at support techniques." Sasuke added.
"I'm glad you two are supporting the value of your teammate. Hopefully this motivates you when you try the chunin exams again in the future." Kakashi said, feeling more confident in the growth of his students. "Anyways, before you can worry yourselves with being promoted. You should focus on our current mission." he said.
"Cool, what are we doing?" Arashi asked excitedly. Causing Komoe to stir in her sleep, "Shoot. Keep sleeping." he told the girl.
"Please tell me we're not taking her." Sasuke said, not wanting to babysit.
Kakashi sighed at the random things holding modern shinobi back.
In Makai
While still without an crisis to be concerned over. The imperial government was still on high alert and filled with concern. Luckily, the citizens are feeling safe and functioning without worry despite recent tightened security in their everyday life. Aside from a higher police presence and movement of military, the local populace still functioned as normal.
Right now, not even the highest ranking members of the government were allowed to relax or just dump their duties onto someone else. The Crimson and Gold Emperors were currently making their way out of a meeting room.
"Luckily we avoided an unnecessary nightmare with Vali's marriage. Although, there is still the issue with his movements between here and the Land of Dragons." Alucard said.
"I think I should have gotten Vali a belt for his birthday if it led to this." Naruto replied.
Alucard snickered, "As if he would actually wear one." he said. "But I think Princess Kasumi will likely be forcing him to wear one." he said.
"This is no country for men to have mistresses, concubines or "side girls"." Naruto told him as they entered a new room.
On their way, the guards stationed at the doorway had stood at attention and saluted the two monarchs. The two nodded at the guards as sign of acknowledgment as the doors closed behind them. Within the room, Alucard took a seat on a sofa while Naruto went in another direction to grab a hidden box. There, Naruto opened the box and revealed fragments of a mirror that started to float above the box.
"Should we check in on Vali?" Naruto asked.
"At a later date, perhaps we should deal with more present day matters." Alucard said, ignoring whatever Vali feels.
Now all three emperors were now married men. Technically four now, the news of Licht being declared the fourth emperor in this alliance has been public for about a year now. Although there are still some parts of society that is being accustomed to this. Then again, the three emperors have been in power for less than a decade and each monarch comes from a different race.
A yokai/human hybrid, a dhampir, a devil and now an elf. An odd but interesting set of leaders to say the least.
Before Naruto could work on contacting someone. Naruto's communication mirror came to life and revealed a familiar man with red hair and facial markings. Naruto frowned as he now contacted by the Demon Lord Guy Crimson.
"Hello Crimson Emperor, it's been a while." Guy Crimson said.
"You say that as if I was the one seeking you out, Primordial of Red." Naruto replied.
"I sense tension, are you annoyed? Is another fool causing a mess? I heard that human kingdom, Melromarc, is under fire and the Blue Emperor had just been married to avoid a conflict of his own doing." Guy said, annoying Naruto.
"All of it is true and has been handled. Now tell me what you want." Naruto said in a demanding tone.
Alucard raised a brow as he listened to this sudden conversation. He knew that for a demon lord, Guy Crimson takes business seriously and isn't the type to ignore his duties or pressing matters. However, when there is time, he can be playful and a bit haughty. Right now, the son of Dracula could think of a variety of reasons why the demon lord was contacting Naruto.
"I've witnessed that brother of yours using that little flashy sword technique along with another boy." Guy said. annoying Naruto.
Even in a serious voice, Guy's voice always sound taunting. Naruto himself had already grown close with his family and it was his instincts that made him defensive around them. The fact that Guy made it to the Elemental Nations and spotted his siblings already angered Naruto. Especially as Guy is the type to follow whatever caught his interest or made him very curious.
"It's nothing special, but I can see where his path is going." Guy added.
"You will leave those two alone." Naruto said, leaving no room for argument.
"Oh my, such a temper." Guy commented.
"This can't be good." Alucard whispered to himself.
"I am only making a comment. After all, I consider myself an optimist and want to see how things go. Especially with all the doom and gloom news. It makes it difficult to find time to relax and enjoy life for what it is." Guy said as if his boredom mattered.
"I've been separated from my family long enough and I don't need your presence and desire for battle to ruin that." Naruto said.
"And I won't. I just wanted to catch up is all." Guy replied, still playing innocent. "After all, you would be more angry if I didn't say anything before." he said.
"He has a point." Alucard spoke up.
"Is Adrian there too?" Guy curiously asked.
"You're not talking to him, you're talking to me and our conversation is over." Naruto told him.
"Now hold, on there's no need to be impatient. There's one other thing you should no before you should know before any hysterics happen." Guy said, wanting to continue the conversation.
"What is it now?" Naruto asked.
"It seems that a whole batch of Holy Swords from many eras past are starting the activate. Although, I may mostly be saying this because Leon is afraid." Guy explained.
"Leon Cromwell? Afraid?" Alucard asked.
"Yes Adrian, Leon doesn't show emotion but he's afraid of a certain sword belonging to a certain deceased hero. He wouldn't be happy to see someone obtain it." Guy said, catching their interest.
Days later, Kingdom of Holfort
Holfort is one of the kingdoms that keeps a holy sword and it's one of the many that are being activated. However, this was something that Queen Mylene was keeping to herself and a select few. The last thing she needed during a political exchange is for news of the weapon belonging to the her, Kanon, to be coming to life. While it was made to slay powerful demons, that didn't make it any less dangerous towards humans and other people in general.
For now, Queen Mylene had to settle with the incoming guests from other nations. Something which did make a lot of the noble houses feel tense about but at the same time got them excited as they were planning on trying to negotiate with the other factions of great standing. Though in their heads, it was an attempt to see if there was anything worth gaining.
With that said, several airships made their way onto one of the islands where the King and Queen would be hosting them. Officially, the King will be here too for the greeting, but he's most likely just going to sit in his throne and stare like a bored child. Unless something really catches his eye, King Roland won't have much of a purpose. Although, nobody told him that the gnome is still in the kingdom.
"Greetings fellow honorable guests, I would like to welcome you all to the Holfort Kingdom." Mylene said as her guests arrived.
Among the many guests were parties from Konoha, Kumo, Kiri, Melromarc and Makai. Naruto had to arrive alone as Yasaka had to keep the administration running. Ironically, Koyanskaya was here as well but with Ay as a member of his group. There was also Momon with her sons who was with Naruto's group but mainly here to begin her economic conquest. Naruto sighed as he heard Mylene continue her speech which would lead to the festivities and greetings.
"And with that, I hope you all have a pleasant evening on behalf of the crown and the noble houses." Mylene said, earning a round of applause.
"The lady with the pretty hair is nice." Igner said.
"Yes she is, now just keep your head down until mother presents the new product." Walt said.
"I'm hungry." Igner responded, making Walt groan.
"There's going to be snacks inside." Naruto said, appeasing Igner
A brief while later, at the reception hall
Leon was unhappy and he had a right to feel that way. His recent promotion forced him to participate in this event as his parents were of low standing and his step-mother, Zola, was unavailable to attend and so were his half siblings. In hindsight, the good part of this is as long as Leon doesn't do anything that gets him executed (or promoted again), then he can feel satisfaction in annoying Zola by looking good for House Bartfort.
'Wait, maybe there's a noble's daughter or a young woman of noble standing I can marry! The positioning is debatable but an arranged marriage isn't entirely in the wrong!' Leon thought excitedly but realized the faults of his plan. 'Damn it! That won't work, political marriages between countries are much more complicated! How do I know I won't end up with someone who acts sweet but behaves like Zola!?' he mentally screamed.
"Leon, stop making that face. You're in a room full of political leaders." Angelica spoke up.
Leon groaned, "Well excuse me if I didn't plan on socializing with a bunch of ambassadors and monarchs of various titles." he replied.
"Can you at least try to be mature? It's not like a bunch of women are going to slap you." Angelica said, trying to get her friend to behave.
"Fine, I'll socialize." Leon said before turning to the first person he sees. "Hello, I am Leon Bartfort of House Bartfort. I hope you are having a pleasant evening." He said, sounding sarcastic.
'And now I have to save him.' Angelica thought.
Leon's new acquaintance replied, "I'm Naofumi Iwatani, the Shield Hero." The man said.
"A what hero?" Leon asked.
Naofumi sighed, "I'm a hero and my only weapon is a shield." he said.
"I'm guessing weapons aren't cheap." Leon said.
"I'm only allowed to use a shield." Naofumi replied.
"Seriously? Sorry man." Leon said, sounding sympathetic.
Elsewhere in the reception hall, Arashi and Komoe were looking at the various foods that were spread out on the big tables. The boy and his "daughter" were thinking about what they should grab. Just as Arashi was about to grab some cookies for him and Komoe, he heard his brother's voice.
"You are making a big mistake, Arashi." Naruto said, making Arashi pale. "If you're going to eat dessert. Try the brownies first." he said.
Arashi still looked scared, "Why do you have to say it in a threatening tone?" he asked.
"It's my duty." Naruto answered, making Arashi shiver.
"Hi Oji-san!" Komoe said as she tugged on Naruto's pants leg.
Naruto smiled at the girl, "Hello Komoe, do you like the party?" he asked.
Komoe shook her head, "No, too many stiffs." she answered.
Naruto sighed, "You're too much like your parents." He told the girl who suddenly looked confused. "Then again, Yasaka is more of the type to enjoy these events but she's busy." He added as he looked around.
"But I am here." Kushina said, suddenly appearing behind Arashi. "I do not like these kinds of parties, but I don't like it when my son is stuffing his face like a pig." She said.
"Well Mito doing the same!" Arashi said, only to realize Mito wasn't around.
"Arashi, don't toss the blame onto someone else." Kushina said, scolding her son. She then looked at Naruto and smiled, "You should be like your brother, just look how handsome he is." she said.
Naruto traded his common outfit which was more flashy for a more formal military uniform. The uniform was black with gold lines around the cuffs, bottom of the jacket and center of the jacket where the buttons are along with formal dress shoes, white gloves and gold epaulets and a couple of medals.

"Had Momon not adopted me, I would probably be doing what Arashi is doing right now." Naruto said, coming to Arashi's defense.
"But then you wouldn't look so adorable." Kushina said, teasing her son.
Naruto sighed, "Where is Mito anyways? She's representing Konoha and is technically a noble." He said.
"She couldn't have gone far if Arashi is here." Kushina said as she looked around the party.
As the search for Naruto's sister began, another issue regarding the family began. Namely in the form of Momon as she decided that now would be a perfect time to start advertising that new product. Naruto sighed as he saw the hologram projection of that one device.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this time of peace and cooperation is the perfect time to announce my mother's new product. A device that can connect everyone together no matter how far the distance. Going as far as to reach those who were unaware of their counterpart's existence." Walt explained as he gathered the attention of everyone.
"Presenting, The eyePhone!" Larry said as he projected the hologram of the device.
Naruto sighed as he heard the same speech from the advertisement but with the same details. He decided to excuse himself while most of the guests were suddenly hypnotized into the seemingly glorious luxury. Naruto made his way towards a balcony to get some fresh air and to avoid the economic opportunity that his adoptive grandmother was building for herself.
At the same time, a few people recognized the technology that Momon had used.
"And with this device, you can record moving images like a movie and publish them onto a singular platform for many to see. All in one medium, these actions are called Twits." Momon said, finishing her explanation.
'Wait, is this like Twitter!? Did this lady create social media!?' Leon thought.
"Seriously? Social media?" Naofumi asked, catching Leon's attention as well as one other person's.
"What's social media?" Raphtalia asked.
"It's basically one place where people share their private life and dumb jokes. It's also where everyone shares their opinions and get angry with each other." Naofumi explained.
'This guy is definitely from the other world.' Leon thought as he realized Naofumi is a summoned hero. 'Hold on now, if he got summoned here. Can he go back? I guess it wouldn't matter to me if he could, but still.' he thought as Naofumi caught his interest.
At the same time, the popular girl on campus, Marie, had overheard Naofumi. Marie wasn't aware of the concept of summoned heroes, but now tried thinking about how this information could benefit her. Sadly for her, she was unaware of Naofumi's distrust of women like Marie which would make her plan immediately backfire.
Focusing on the present, Momon presented a demonstration by revealing one of the prototypes. It functioned the same, but not to the full capability as Momon advertised.
"And now, I request one volunteer. One brave soul who wishes to connect everyone of every realm." Momon said, getting the crowd hyped.
Most of the crowd murmured amongst themselves when an eager individual came forth.
"I am Greg Fou Seberg and I do not back down from any challenge. I will pave the way for unity or whatever this is meant to represent." Greg said eagerly.
Greg is a member of Prince Julius' entourage along with Jilk and two others. Each of them can be identified by their unique personalities and oddly colored hair that made them look like they came out of a crayon box. What makes Greg stand out his is his thick headed and confident personality that makes him reckless but brave in the face of danger.
"Wooh! Greg!" Leon said as he clapped his hands, making the guests clap in Greg's honor.
"You're not friends with Greg." Angelica said, finding Leon's actions suspicious.
"I know, but if anything. Technology like this is probably painful." Leon said.
That's when Luxion appeared, "My master's statement is correct. Unless the design of this "eyePhone" is for aesthetics. Greg is going to be feeling great pain in the ocular region." He said.
"What?" Angelica asked.
Everyone heard Greg scream in pain for an entire minute. Followed by Walt and Larry trying to hit the side of Greg's head as their device didn't go in. Walt blamed Greg for this while claiming that the red haired boy had small eyes or something. Then the pain subsided and Greg looked mesmerized by the eyePhone's basic setup.
"My right may feel like it's on fire, but now I can make lots of memories with Marie." Greg said as he recorded his love interest.
"The future is today and it looks like Momon, from Momon corp." Momon said, intriguing many people from all factions.
By this point, Momon had earned the attention of many nobles who now found themselves attracted to such fine technology. It was such a good thing, the woman decided to be charitable and pulled out a brand new eyePhone box that was updated and filled with less dangers.
"Here kid." Momon said as she threw the box at Greg's face. "Ask Igner to install the new one for you." She said.
Igner walked up to Greg with a hammer, "I can set up your account right away, no money down or your money back." he said before Walt whispered into his ear. "Oops, you paid no money. Oh well, let's take out your eyePhone and put a new one in." he said.
"Actually, I think I'm in a lot of pain. Does this flashy thing come with painkillers?" Greg asked.
"It can give you pain and kill you." Igner answered.
"That's not what I asked… AHH!" Greg screamed as Igner started removing the prototype from Greg's eye.
Marie suddenly looked sick at the idea of having a device shoved into her eyelid. Then again, she came from a world where people are metaphorically glued to their phones and it's proven that the radiation is harmful. However, at least those devices weren't physical attached to human beings.
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Marie murmured.
"I'll take three!" Leon spoke up, ignoring the potential pain he might obtain from the eyePhone.
Now everyone can share their most private and controversial ideas and bash on each other because of their right to have an opinion!
With Naruto
Naruto sighed as he took a drink from his glass as he watched the afternoon sky. Or maybe it's the afternoon stratosphere, the flight to the kingdoms was pretty high so he had no idea how to measure the elevation. Every realm was different so there was no telling how Melromarc and Holfort's shared world worked in terms of physics. Although many scientists and wizards are likely going to be scratching their heads now that they have to update all of their knowledge for the past few centuries.
"Maybe someone from the Ainz Ooal Gown Academy of Magic can lend a hand." Naruto said, remembering a certain undead Overlord. "I'm sure a scholar from his academy wouldn't mind taking a look if it benefits their lord." he added.
"There you are, nii-san!" Mito said as she appeared.
"You found me? Everyone is looking for you, where have you been?" Naruto asked.
"Just looking around, eating and behaving." Mito said.
Naruto sighed, "Try not to get lost Mito. Even if many of the delegates are from shinobi villages, some of these people will threaten conflict for small things." he said.
"Why?" Mito asked.
"Mainly to enforce their power and gain something, but that's if they aren't just being pity and feel threatened." Naruto answered.
"Politics hurt my head." Mito whined.
Naruto sighed, "I know, even adulting can just be complicated childishness. Now grow up." he said.
"I thought you said adulting is just another world for being a child." Mito said.
"It means don't throw a fit. Look, Konoha and the other villages may technically be a contracted military, but they act like a small state." Naruto explained. "This is similar to most other peerages where a lord is the ruler of a land. The Hokage is the closest thing to a lord, so that makes you a princess in a way." he further elaborated.
"Wait, does this mean I have more pressure on me?" Mito asked.
"Yes, so remember to behave, imouto." Naruto said as he ruffled the girl's hair.
"Mean nii-san." Mito muttered.
"I know it's boring, but that's what these parties work for. Unless something rare like that incident where I heard someone scream occurred." Naruto explained before feeling the wind pick up. "The wind pressure here is very strange. Almost bipolar in a way." he said.
"What does that mean?" Mito asked, looking confused.
"Nothing, forget about it." Naruto said as they went back to the party.
Then they heard Greg screaming again, most likely having the updated eyePhone installed. Despite the painful exchange, Greg's friends were likely now jealous because he can record videos and photos of Marie.
Back to the party
As everyone was trying to enjoy themselves and broker deals with each other. There was one person in particular who was standing out. After the failed attack led by Princess Hertrude of Fanoss, the princess was turned into a student at the same academy where Leon attends. The red eyed girl was looking pleased as usual, most likely trying to hide her true demeanor. The girl was likely here in an attempt to establish more peaceful ties and avoid more needless violence.
Even if Fanoss was crippled with the last attack, especially with the loss of a princess and her flute which manipulates animals.
"Something is off with that girl." Naofumi said.
"Maybe you're just paranoid, Master Naofumi." Raphtalia said, trying to get her master to relax. "Maybe you should try to eat something." She suggested.
"I don't know, it might be spiked or filled with narcotics." Naofumi said.
Raphtalia sweat dropped, "I think that paranoia is showing." She said.
"Damn it, I think I still have Seiya's mindset." Naofumi said, feeling more tense than usual.
Naofumi's suspicions had temporarily gone away as another urgent matter had occurred. Namely Filo who he accidentally left unattended had started making a mess. With Arashi's "Daughter" of all people too.
"Master, we need extra napkins!" Filo called out.
"What did you do Filo?" Naofumi asked as he went to look for her.
"Bring extra napkins first." Filo said, making Naofumi groan in frustration.
This resulted in less people paying close attention to Hertrude. The party only seemed to get louder as guests passed the time with shared stories, meetings and more advertisements from Momon. Along with screams of pain as someone else had bought an eyePhone directly from Momon.
"My eye feels like it's on fire, but I think I'm literally connected to the world. This stuff is intense!" Leon said, revealing that he bought an eyePhone. 'I never thought I would take the internet for granted.' he thought as he accessed some apps.
Angelica looked at Leon with a tired look on her face. She didn't realize that Leon had found the camera feature on the device and briefly zoomed in on Angelica's exposed cleavage. Leon zoomed back out once Olivia arrived and asked what was going on.
"Hey Livia, say cheese!" Leon said.
"Um, cheese?" Olivia asked.
Holfort was already at an age where photographs existed as well as other technological advances. Some which surpass many other kingdoms and realms, but Leon accidentally screwed up by using a phrase that no one uses. He also realized that he might get the wrong attention with his understanding of some of Momon's applications.
"Why do you want her to say "Cheese"?" Angelica asked.
"Uh… it's a voice command for photographs. There's a similar command for recording film." Leon lied. "In fact, let's take a video together. I think this is a good time for a group photo." he said as he adjusted the camera for selfie.
"Okay, how do we see it afterwards?" Angelica asked.
"I might need to figure this whole device out." Leon said.
With Naruto
Upon returning to the party, Naruto was approached by Igner who gave him a box containing an eyePhone.
"Your lucky, that's the second and last freebie of the night." Igner told his adopted nephew.
"Thank you Igner, I'll install it later." Naruto said with some doubt in his voice.
Igner didn't notice this doubt, "You're welcome!" he said before shuttering. "I think someone turned up the thermostat. The air is cold." he said.
"That it is." Naruto said, sounding suspicious.
"The weather app says it's supposed to be mild. Why is it not mild when it's supposed to be mild?" Igner asked as he had an eyePhone installed in his own eye.
"Did you set the temperature to C (celsius) or F (fahrenheit)?" Naruto asked as Igner didn't know the difference too well.
"I left it at F." Igner said before shivering some more.
Naruto looked around suspiciously, "I think I'm gonna go check in with the guards." he said as he left Igner alone.
However, Naruto was stopped his his sister-in-law, "Naruto-kun, have you met Ay-kun yet?" Koyanskaya asked.
"Yes, we've briefly met." Naruto answered, not feeling the mood for the pink haired fox's antics
Naruto didn't speak or know the Raikage on a personal level. He knew Ay is a strong man, but he was not entirely a muscle head despite being stubborn in politics. He knew his material and he was also quite fast to the point he could almost match Minato with neither of them letting time slow them down. Koyanskaya's taste in men was a mystery to Naruto, but she generally likes someone who's strong and not entirely egotistical.
Naruto knew Koyanskaya was having a good time with Ay, which he wanted no part of. This lead to an awkward and brief exchange between the Crimson Emperor and Kumo's leader. Naruto then made up an excuse to pardon himself from the group and go in his own direction. Although, not without hearing something that would make the pink kitsune feel pissed.
"I didn't know they allowed courtesans at these parties. Especially of the demi-human variety." a random noble said.
"To each their own, everyone must be entertained, I suppose." said another noble.
"But a demi-human? Isn't that man supposed to be a representative from one of the backwater kingdoms from the surface?" asked a third noble who sounded far too ignorant.
Naruto sighed as he started making some space as he could feel anger from Koyanskaya. However, he didn't need his ability to detect negative emotions as Yasaka's younger half sister's tails were twitching. The pink haired kitsune looked at the group of nobles with a bright smile that would fit a secretary greeting her guests. Then her tails were raised above her head as a variety of weapons were held by her tails.
Even Killer Bee looked stunned when he turned to see his brother's girlfriend. He didn't have sensory skills, but Gyuki already gave the man a warning about feeling negative tension.
"Bro's tastes in ladies are way to wild." Killer Bee said as he started eating. "I should take cover from my nii-san's lover." he rhymed as he took a few steps back.
Nothing too bad happened, outside of a Koyanskaya shooting a few rounds from her guns. Which nicked a woman in the ear and made a couple of others fall to the floor as she aimed for the knees.
"Oops, my fur slipped. Oh well, you won't have to worry about wearing such hideous earrings." Koyanskaya said.
"These were an heirloom, you underdeveloped canine!" the noble woman yelled before Koyanskaya shot her guns a few more times.
"I'm sorry, my ears are fine but I couldn't hear you over the sounds of my triggers." Koyanskaya said after nearly killing the noble.
Killer Bee poked his head from under a table, "That lady is crazy with a capital… AHH" he yelled as he avoided a gunshot aimed for his head. "Ain't no one inviting me to another shindig. Classy women are deathly women, yo." he said.
Killer Bee quickly scrounged up some food on a plate for himself as he wished to continue hiding. Men like this rapper knew when a woman can be too much for someone like him to handle. Not just in the case of dating them but also in the case of standing in the same room as them. At the same time, the Hachibi jinchuriki also really wanted to buy an eyePhone despite the pain that came with it.
'I could be recording some fresh tracks that way. Number eight won't need to wait for an advertisement in a movie and that's just gonna be groovy.' Killer Bee thought.
And thus, the next stage in music videos would begin today. Art may not be for everyone as there are all kinds of styles that not everyone will enjoy. Enka rap will become one of them, unfortunately.
At that moment, Queen Mylene spoke up before this turned into a shootout from a vintage spaghetti western film. The different sides were hoping for a peaceful resolution. At the same time, Naruto hoped Koyanskaya would keep her weapons down if they came down to a compromise. Otherwise he really will have to step in to calm down his sister-in-law.
"Citizens of Holfort, I request please avoid antagonizing the delegates. Please remember the new punishment regarding the audit of one's property." Mylene said in a sweet voice.
"Audit?" Naofumi asked before hearing Leon laughing to himself. "What's so funny?" he asked.
"Just a funny story I'm remembering." Leon answered.
Leon is most likely the cause of Mylene's new law but not in a negative sense. Before the incident with his airship, Leon was commissioned to help a noble girl make it to her family's island. They were then met by pirates who ambushed them but could not withstand Leon's ingenuity and defenses. Leon punished the pirates by detaining them and robbing them of their loot.
He then forced the noble girl into revealing that she was using herself as bait for the pirates. Her reason being that a girl from a higher ranking family blackmailed her into doing it. Ironically, Leon had met that noble girl when he made a maid cafe and she started to disrespect him as well as Queen Mylene by calling her "an old hag" without realizing who she was. Which was weird considering that Mylene looks so young.
This rule made some of the nobles become fearful and cautious. Especially when Mylene herself led the arrest of the noble girl for essentially committing a massive crime.
"Otherwise, please enjoy the rest of the evening." Mylene said, still sounding sweet.
The thing that helps with having a youthful appearance and maintaining one's health is the effect it has in public. In some cases, older folks or people with life experience might look down on someone who looks like a child. There are some cases when a child or someone with a seemingly innocent appearance and tone can be just as scary. While Mylene is no psychopath, she's like Mirellia who isn't a pushover when present.
So hearing someone sounding so sweet and making deadly threats will make quite a few people shut up.
"I would just shattered a table, but then again the tables here are more expensive. How come the strong stuff is so much cheaper?" Ay asked.
Koyanskaya hugged Ay's bicep, "That's because of aesthetic's, Ay-kun. You gotta manage your stress in other ways." she said.
"Maybe you're right." Ay said, thinking his date is onto something.
Killer Bee shook his head as he heard this conversation from a distance, 'Definitely too crazy for me, yo.' he thought as he kept eating under the table.
Meanwhile, in Amegakure
Like Kirigakure to some extent, Amegakure is a village that practices isolationism and keeps things to themselves. Even though everyone outside of the village is aware that Hanzo is dead after many years of tyranny. Almost no one knows about the current ruler of Amegakure outside of the citizens who don't have a public image of their ruler.
They fear him too much to begin an actual investigation. Not like the civilians or shinobi would be tough enough to handle approaching him. Even still, there hasn't been any successful reconnaissance in recent date. Otherwise, they would have known that this is where the Akatsuki is made and runs.
Despite the news of the three year break that the members were taking. There were two members who were always working on important matters, especially when it comes to uninvited guests.
"Reveal yourself." Pain demanded.
Even with the Rinnegan, possibly the most powerful dojutsu known only in myth, Pain could hardly see the intruder. Coming out from the darkness as if it were his life source, Dumas appeared. Pain was ready to smite the man at any moment as he could sense the various monsters made from the black ooze.
"Is this your attempt of ambushing me? A god?" Pain asked.
Had Dumas been playful or overly confident like Pain, Dumas would have laughed at his face. Dumas had no time for nonsense or arguments about titles.
"I've witnessed people wield the powers of gods and even steal from them. You are only a pale image in comparison to them." Dumas said, offending Pain.
Even if Pain was mature and competent, he's still far weaker compared to the childish likes of the false goddess who impersonated Aphrodite who can summon anyone at will as well as empower them. There's also Medea Pideth Machina who's capable of destroying entire world but has the personality of an angry teenager. At best, Pain is capable of large scale destruction but has no imagination when it comes to utilizing such powers.
"However, unlike them, you are much more but also so little." Dumas said, thinking about Pain's powers being used poorly.
"You trespass into my dominion and mock me?" Pain asked.
"I entered your domain because I have an offer worth exchanging. One that can benefit you and your "angel"." Dumas explained. "As you are aware, there are gasps between dimensions. Entire worlds that your own people did not know had existed. Filled with creatures different from ordinary humans." He explained.
"That information is not new." Pain replied.
"And that is where we can skip the formalities. However, do you know the powers that lie within other worlds? Powers that either do not exist or are frowned upon." Dumas explained.
Pain scoffed, "And what do I gain from parlor tricks and odd appearances?" he asked.
"This is no game, Nagato Uzumaki. There are powers that can shake the very laws of the universe." Dumas said, making Pain look defensive.
"How do you know my mortal name?" Pain asked.
"You can thank a snake who wishes to stop shedding his skin." Dumas answered as he referred to Orochimaru. "He is quite cooperative and respectable when given the chance to break free from Death's hold." he said.
Immortality is a real thing, but its costly as it can come in many forms. The worst possible form being trapped as some mindless mongrel or inanimate object to the best form being in perfect health with no way of feeling any pain. However, Orochimaru was the type to accept immortality with a great cost. Sure, he doesn't want to turn into a plant or a mindless mongrel but he wouldn't care less if he lost need to sleep and eat.
Although there are some who can't handle the idea of losing earthly attachments, Orochimaru lacks most desires. In fact, such things will likely further help him reach his endless desires. Such knowledge that Dumas could grant him was enough of a payment for the snake sannin to give secrets to the masked man.
"As expected from a human parasite." Pain said, having little respect for his former subordinate.
"I doubt many in this world accept the concept of honor. It is human nature for an individual to prioritize their own life." Dumas replied. "However, the actions of said individual depends on their motivation." He said.
"Then what do you offer?" Pain asked, wanting to get straight to the point.
"We have different goals, but different enemies. Despite your capabilities, you are unprepared and I like the resources against threats that are working together." Dumas answered.
"Explain yourself? What threats should I concern myself with that I cannot already handle?" Pain asked.
One of the black ooze monsters stepped out and presented a device that revealed a hologram. The hologram presented Naruto and his fellow emperors including Licht who was recently recruited.
"These are the Four Emperors, individuals who overcame a series of chaos between realms. They seek order and a form of peace that even they know is impossible." Dumas explained.
"Such beliefs are a pipe dream." Pain said, having adopted a more nihilistic belief in recent years.
Dumas could see that Pain was being stubborn but in time, he would get the man to cooperate with him.
Back in Holfort, a while later
Arashi stepped out from the party and let out a tired sigh, 'That party felt stuffy and Momon baa-chan is just trying to advertise her weird stuff.' he thought. 'It could be worse though, that crazy kitsune lady at least scared some of those stuffy nobles. Better than dealing with those annoying merchants on the civilian council that tou-san has to frequently meet.' he thought as he got some fresh air.
Like any ordinary kid in the village, especially an aspiring shinobi who had an optimistic yet naive sense of reality. Arashi was excited about leaving the village walls as the concept was almost fantasy like. Leaving the giant walls and facing the unknown dangers that were hiding out there then obtaining the glory of overcoming adversity really motivated most kids. Even some shinobi like Minato admitted that it was awesome, but very pricey in terms of how everyone would be effected. Luckily for Arashi, his only experiences were just surviving danger.
He hasn't grown enough to see face life or death experiences outside of meeting superior foes and facing dangerous monsters. Arashi had to admit that he was more fortunate than most to only witness the literal fantasy like aspects behind the walls of Konoha. As a child, the only creature of myth that Arashi was aware of was the legendary Oonba which Jiraiya had seeked out in his own childhood days. Although thinking back to it, it's not impossible that the creature exists but it sounds pretty wimpy compared to the monster that kidnapped Luna and Sora which was strong against jutsus.
Now here he is, in some other world where there are kingdoms on top of giant floating rocks in the sky. No doubt there are a lot of shinobi who are going to be envious of Arashi's explorations compared to the many that faced more simple yet more difficult situations.
"It's not like everyone will believe me." Arashi said with a shrug. "The only thing left in this adventure is a legendary treasure for me to claim. Maybe I'll claim an island or something, I heard that earns someone a good reputation." he said.
As Arashi tried to relax himself from the stuffy atmosphere of the party. He couldn't help but feel the sudden sensation of heat on the side of his face. Arashi groaned as he placed a hand on his cheek, then his ear and then his temples. He looked at the sky and wondered if it was the sun but noticed that it was beginning to set and was partially blocked by the clouds.
"Am I getting sick or something?" Arashi asked, feeling annoyed by the heat.
Arashi did his best try and relieve himself of the sensation and even performed a small water jutsu to help cool himself. As he did this, he was approached by Naruto who surprised him.
"Something wrong?" Naruto asked.
"I swear, you're going to scare me to death." Arashi said.
"But that's not your current problem, is it?" Naruto asked as he pointed at the water.
"I'm just feeling hot on one side of my body. I think the air or something is getting to me." Arashi said as he kept washing the side of his face. "I can't explain it, but it feels worse than feeling like when your ears are hot. You know?" he asked.
Naruto just gave his brother a blank stare. Then Arashi thought of a bad question.
"Hey nii-san, since you have ears on your head too. Do you feel sensitive around loud sounds? Also, do Yasaka and Kunou have four ears too? Because I've only seen the ones on their heads." Arashi said.
"Arashi, never ask a woman about her ears. Sometimes you should never ask about their horns or gills either." Naruto responded.
Arashi sweat dropped, "I don't understand what kind of advice that is." he said as the sensation only felt worse. "But seriously, this feels really annoying. Like I'm trying to make it go away but I can't." he said before hearing a loud popping noise.
Naruto's ears twitched at the sound, "Something is coming." he said.
"What?" Arashi asked as he felt like time suddenly moved too quickly for him to comprehend.
Because he suddenly saw Naruto rushing behind Arashi and extending his tails as if to grab something. Instead, Naruto was shoved aside and Arashi felt a massive weight hitting him from behind. The younger brother grunted in pain as he skidded across the ground as a fancy looking sword landed beside him.
"What the heck? Is someone throwing swords at us?" Arashi asked as he reached for the sword.
Unaware of the energy that it was radiating.
"Arashi, don't touch that! It's not an ordinary sword!" Naruto yelled just as Arashi gripped the handle.
"Eh? What do mean?" Arashi asked before feeling heat building up in his hand and coursing through his body. 'Why don't I ever listen?' he mentally asked himself as his body went stiff.
But just as Arashi lost control of his body, the sheathe of the sword fell off on it's own and was surrounded by a golden hue of magical energy.
Back at the party
The festivities continued and the guests seemingly unaware of the strange interaction going on outside. Although it looked like Momon had finally finished her series of presentations with her extravagant products. With her final one actually being a gift for Queen Mylene herself as a gesture of good will. Although the tricky part was trying to convince the guards and the queen herself that it wasn't a bomb or anything dangerous. They did have a good reason after witnessing someone having a tiny piece of machinery stuffed into their own eye.
It went surprisingly well as Momon explained the basics of the complex machine. Naofumi and Leon immediately identified the device as the equivalent of a computer from the late 20th century. At least advanced enough to handle the applications that the eyePhone is using minus a few functions Mylene can live without.
One of which didn't involve stabbing the queen in the eye.
"Kaa-san, didn't tou-san receive one of those as a gift?" Mito asked as she saw the machine.
"I'm pretty sure your father received a larger one and it's screen was just black with green letters." Kushina said.
Although hardly anyone heard her, Kushina revealed that Momon was kind enough to gift a piece of advanced machinery to Minato. Except it sounds like it have been an older model as the operating system sounds outdated. Hopefully for the Yondaime Hokage, it isn't filled with dangerous amounts of radiation.
"And worry not about any inconveniences with connecting to special services. My team of capable engineers are ready to connect her majesty with the rest of her kingdom and the world itself." Momon said, impressing everyone.
Queen Mylene decided to test out the machine and found herself connecting to the equivalent of the internet. She found herself already being impressed as she saw profiles for Brad and Leon being active.
"It so small, but I cannot deny the potential of such exotic machinery." Mylene said, making Momon smile.
Soon enough, Momon would have a hold on Holfort's economy if she can get her machines to appear in the kingdom and further advertise her products. Her only problem would be trying to establish stores and make sure the connections stay strong. The last thing she needed is a massive server shut down because it couldn't handle all of the sheep trying to connect to each other.
"I thank you for the lovely gift, Madame Momon." Mylene said with a kind bow.
"Think nothing of it your majesty, the world needs to develop. There's no use in it if we stay a step behind." Momon said, sounding charitable. 'There's no use in dealing with a bunch of neanderthals. They better shape up, because there's no funds for an expedition or culling.' she thought.
As everyone was distracted by the display, several guards from Naruto's faction started to run out the room. This caught some attention and made everyone feel some tension as they saw the guards converging towards one location.
"No one got into a fight, right?" Mito asked nervously.
"Where's your brother and niece?" Kushina asked.
Komoe suddenly appeared with some stains on her cheeks, "Komoe is here, baba." she said.
Kushina sighed as she started cleaning her granddaughter's face, "Komoe-chan, remember to use a fork and a napkin." she said before facing Mito. "And go look for your brother." she said.
"Right!" Mito said before scurrying off. 'Arashi, this better not be your fault.' she thought as she ran outside.
Outside
Arashi was in trouble but not in the sense of a political accident. Rather, it was a strange situation he got himself into when he picked up the magic sword. Now it's filled his body with strange energy and the blade itself looks like it's come to life.
"Nii-san, I swear it isn't my fault. You can't expect me to avoid a magic sword that decided to appear by itself." Arashi said as he raised up the weapon.
"Well now I want to know why it wants you when it's clearly too powerful." Naruto said as he tried to take away the sword.
Only for the weapon to push Naruto back, "That wasn't my fault either!" he said.
That's when Naruto's guards appeared and surrounded Arashi when they heard that last sentence. Of course, they assumed assumed Arashi to be lying when they saw him looking panicked and with a magic sword on hand. Even if he was a relative of their emperor, the guards had to be cautious around such a suspicious looking individual.
"Um... anyone want a free sword?" Arashi asked, hoping to barter the sword.
"Stand down, my younger brother has been accidentally bound to a Holy Sword." Naruto said, now recognizing the type of magic within the sword.
The guards slightly lowered their weapons but kept their guard up. Even if Arashi isn't a threat, they still didn't trust the situation that the boy was in. At most, there was the concern that he had his hands on a weapon that could be as bad as a ticking time bomb.
"Arashi, is the sword really stuck or are you gripping it?" Naruto asked.
Arashi made a face of surprise and suddenly felt stupid. He let go of the sword's handle and dropped it to the ground, letting a loud clunking sound go off as it fell. Arashi felt saved but that didn't mean that the sword would just revert to being a lifeless piece of metal. Rather, the sheath suddenly attached itself to the side of his pants.
"I didn't do this." Arashi said before the sword sheathed itself. "I didn't do that either." he said.
Suddenly, Mito arrived and witnessed the sword binding itself to Arashi. The girl let out a groan as she could see the guards were looking quite anxious. Then it got worse as she could see that some knights from a nearby building had come rushing out and ran to Arashi.
'What did he do now?' Mito thought with a tired sigh.
"Young man, return that sword at once! It is a holy relic!" the captain of the knights ordered.
"I'm trying!" Arashi said as he removed the sheath and tossed it to the knights.
The knights scrambled to catch the sword as they deemed it sacred. However, it disappeared in a cloud of gold sparks and returned to Arashi. The boy let out an annoyed groan as he knew he was in trouble. A magical sentient sword that's important to a foreign kingdom is already a sign of trouble on it's own.
That evening
The knights and their most trusted clerics had no success in permanently removing the sword from Arashi. The blade is now bound the boy with no current way to break the bond. It only sounds worse because the identity of the blade and it's previous wielder was revealed.
"It is the Legendary Holy Sword, Evansmana." Mylene told Kushina and Naruto.
"What's a Holy Sword?" Kushina whispered to Naruto.
"A sword filled with Holy Magic and sometimes they are said to be crafted by gods themselves." Naruto answered making Kushina sweat drop.
"...you have something of equal value to trade for Arashi, right?" Kushina asked, thinking Arashi might be locked up for accidentally stealing a weapon.
Naruto ignored his mother as there was nothing he could exchange for the relic that is now in Arashi's hands. All he could do was negotiate and seek the possibility of a compromise since it's unlikely that the kingdom would allow Arashi to walk free from such a prized historical relic. Even if Arashi never uses Evansmana, it would also be a matter of where it belongs.
"Queen Mylene, in regards to the Holy Sword, how is it regarded in importance? Is it the cultural value? Security?" Naruto began to ask.
"Other than the obvious fact that it is a powerful weapon that has lied dormant for centuries. Evansmana has been taken care since the day Hero Kanon had passed away as he is among the many that are regarded highly in the kingdom." Mylene explained.
"So a bit of both. Well then, this may be tricky." Naruto said, realizing the situation his brother was in. "How about we take this into consideration?" he asked the queen before presenting some ideas to benefit Holfort.
Some time later
Arashi was standing against the bars of his prison cell. He looked at the security guard that was guarding him and proceeded to bother him. Despite the fact that Evansmana is an overpowered sword, Arashi didn't want to risk making things worse by destroying the place or himself on accident. So he decided to ask the guard for something.
"Pssst!"
"What? What do you want from me!?" the guard asked, having tried ignoring Arashi for the past half hour.
"I'm really hungry." Arashi answered.
"What do you want me to do about it?" the guard asked.
"Go get me some ramen." Arashi answered.
"No." the guard replied.
"Please?" Arashi asked.
"Get it yourself." the guard said.
"I'm trapped in a prison cell, remember?" Arashi asked.
"I'm sure the sacred relic of one of our kingdom's beloved heroes could conjure something up." the guard said sarcastically.
Arashi raised up Evansmana, "How do I summon ramen?" he asked.
"How should I know?" the guard asked.
"You suggested it." Arashi answered.
"I was being sarcastic, now be quiet! You're giving me a headache!" the guard angrily yelled.
Arashi stayed quiet for only ten seconds, "I'm hungry." he said.
Moments later, several royal guards arrived with a document. The security guard double checked it before opening the cell door. Where Arashi was promptly dragged from out of the cell and into the front yard. Where he was tossed in front of Kushina who looked relieved. Before Arashi could say or ask anything, Kushina started dragging him to the airship that they used to enter Holfort.
"Uh, so am I off the hook?" Arashi asked.
"No, not remotely." Kushina answered.
"Then where are we going?" Arashi asked.
Kushina sighed, "Arashi, your brother managed to negotiate with the nice queen and seeing as how you're renting a power weapon filled with sentimental value. You are now in charge of locating and bringing back another artifact of equal or greater value." she explained.
"Nii-san got me out of prison on the promise of me going treasure hunting?" Arashi asked with wide eyes.
"That's the short version of the story, yes." Kushina said before dragging her son onto the docks. "I'll explain the details later. For now, the party is over and we have our duties to return to." she said as they finally boarded their airship.
"Papa!" Komoe called out as she ran to her father.
Komoe quickly hugged her father just as the young boy had started to stand on his own. By the time he regained his balance, the airship started to move away from the docks and began sailing towards Konoha. Leaving Arashi to question his mother on what kind of deal Naruto made for Arashi to be able to leave with the Holy Sword that is currently bound to him.
"So what kind of treasure am I looking for?" Arashi asked.
"Your brother will explain it to you. However, don't think this is meant to be a fun situation." Kushina said in a serious tone. "I may not know all the details or understand why a sentient sword is attached to you now, but you have a big responsibility in repaying that kingdom." she explained.
"I know, I might start a war or something. So what is it that I need to do?" Arashi asked.
Elsewhere, with Seiya
After having rested enough already, Seiya's party started traveling now that Valkryie is with them despite being weakened. A couple of months passed since the Spirit Tortoise was defeated and the group was still wandering around in the same world. Their goal was to find a false goddess claiming to be the Greek Goddess, Aphrodite. Who is more than likely a powerful human that stole the power of gods she's abducted and enslaved.
"By this point, you might as well have put a tracking chip on Rista." Seiya said.
"It's not like we don't know where a god or their hero is at all times. Still, this business with multiple worlds opening up is insane." Valkyrie said with a grunt. "I swear, if it's the fault of that fake goddess. I'm going to be kicking her teeth in." she said.
"So any ideas on how to find and rescue Rista?" Mash asked.
Valkyrie shrugged, "I don't know, but a part of the plan involves me putting the beating up that wannabe bitch." she answered.
Mash frowned before turning to face Seiya, "Any ideas Seiya?" he asked.
"Maybe we should regroup with Naofumi or seek help from one of the emperors." Elulu said.
"We're not involving those politics, that Shield guy already mentioned the corruption in the kingdom he works for and I doubt any of the other kingdoms are any more generous." Seiya explained. "Unless we have something important or can grant a special service, we're not getting any help." he said.
"I'm guessing the one thing or service might be something really important or bad on our part, am I right?" Mash asked, picking up on Seiya's caution.
Seiya's facial expression remained the same, "Now you have the general idea." he said, making Mash smile. "Then again, any request for help might lead to a series of annoying favors that we can't escape from." he added.
"Enough with the suspicions! You're giving me a headache! How does Rista put up with you?" Valkyrie asked loudly.
"Rista's a useless and perverted goddess." Seiya answered, making Valkyrie sigh.
"She must be super desperate." Valkyrie said.
"Where are we going anyways? We've been marching through the woods and rarely travelled near the roads." Elulu asked.
The party noticed that nightfall had just arrived and were still far from any sign of civilization. That is until the reached the top of a medium sized hill. There they saw a town filled with lights, prompting Seiya to look for a good spot to set up camp to avoid being spotted by any locals and travelers.
"We'll try that town tomorrow, but only for a short time. I can already smell the scumminess of those streets." Seiya said.
"A good place to find information right?" Mash asked, earning a frown from Seiya. "And lots of danger that can harm us at every turn, I know." he said, practically reading Seiya's mind.
Within a few days, everyone might be able to finish Seiya's sentences on the account of understanding the preparations he now takes.
Valkyrie scoffed, "I swear, you probably don't have fun out of fear of death." she said.
"It's a possibility." Seiya said as he found a good spot in between some trees. "While we're at it, why don't you show me some useful skills?" he asked.
Valkyrie rolled her eyes, "Maybe drop that attitude and you'll learn something from that." she suggested.
"We're in a world that we're not supposed to be in and there's cold war going on. Now would be a good time for a useful skill." Seiya argued.
"Maybe I'll tell you something if we check out that town tomorrow." Valkyrie said before yawning. "Maybe there's a place where I can get a good drink." she said as she started unpacking her sleeping back.
"A good place to get a poisoned drink. That place could be some typical paradise for a criminal underworld." Seiya said.
"The Cautious Hero is becoming the paranoid hero." Mash said as he prepared for bed.
"And how many times has my "paranoia" saved you?" Seiya asked.
The kids didn't respond as Seiya saved Mash who was kidnapped by a Demon Lord's general and saved Elulu from being sacrificed after everyone else was paralyzed by the food being served. Seiya will always be overbearing but that doesn't give danger a chance to inflict real damage onto him and his party.
It's going to take some real motivation for the goddess and children to convince Seiya to enter Zeltoble. Which ironically, does seem shady but isn't filled with some heavy amount of crime with some mafiosos running the place. Although that doesn't exempt it from less than legal and sometimes less than honorable things like underground fights and slave auctions.
Which is something that Seiya is going to get himself pulled into when he ends up reuniting with a fellow hero.
The next day, in Makai
The three emperors were sitting together in a common room where they usually hang out. It was a good place to unwind and try to speak their minds in order to feel refreshed and better prepare themselves for the next day of work. Back in the day, Naruto would be the one trying to find excused to avoid the heavy workloads as his stress built up fast.
Everyone should be thankful for Yasaka for giving Naruto a more focused and serious mindset.
"And things in the Land of Dragons seem fine. Except Kasumi is still on my ass about little Jake. The kid is already breathing fire at his age." Vali said with a sigh.
"Your child will grow up fast, Vali. I mean that literally." Alucard said as he poured himself a drink.
"I know dragons have long life spans but what stages of life are going to take the longest?" Vali asked.
"Perhaps it depends on mentality." Alucard answered with a shrug.
Vali groaned, "Hey Naruto, care to give me some advice? You have the most kids in this room." he said.
"It depends on the spouse. Kasumi has her own way of thinking with how she was raised. So don't expect to turn your newborn into a bachelor like yourself." Naruto answered, making Vali groan again.
"I swear, you guys just want to get back at me for mocking you guys for getting hitched." Vali said in an accusing manner.
As Vali continued to complain about his married life with the future ruler of the Land of Dragons. Naruto was going over some old documents and thinking about the temporary agreement he made with Queen Mylene. It was a struggle, but at least he was able to get Arashi back without any significant problems. The last thing he needed was for his younger brother to be forced to stay in Holfort for an eternity… or until an apocalyptic level threat threatens the kingdom.
Luckily Naruto was able to use his sly skills from being part fox to negotiate. However, this meant that Arashi will have to look for other treasures that Holfort had lost or at least the ones that the kingdom had been looking for. As long as it's not capable of creating some apocalyptic event, Naruto is sure that the boy is fine and was meaning to force Mito to tag along with him as well.
With that in mind, Naruto prepared the proper resources for his siblings. When Momon suddenly entered the common room with an orc right behind her. The orc was armed with a pair of nunchucks that were designed to look like hands. Which he used to slap Vali with on Momon's orders.
"Stop crying, you sissy." Momon said just as the orc slapped Vali into the floor.
"I motion for banning violence in the man cave, specifically a rule against slapping." Vali said.
"Nay." Naruto and Alucard said simultaneously.
"Motion denied." Momon said before ordering the orc to slap Vali again.
"Traitors." Vali said before being slapped for a third time.
"Anyways, seeing as how you three boys aren't hammered or lying around. I got a special announcement for you three." Momon said.
"Sometimes I forget that we're the ones that are supposed to be in charge." Alucard whispered to Naruto.
"She has seats on the councils." Naruto whispered back.
This made Alucard sigh as they watched Momon unroll a magic scroll that revealed holograph like images of various kingdoms. Such as Holfort, Melromarc, Re-Estize and several others that had company logos next to them. The trio only had one thought in mind as they saw this.
"Your economic invasion has already spread hasn't it?" Naruto asked.
"You should be noticing how much of I already have under control." Momon said as they can see various kingdoms where her company is present.
"So what's the end goal?" Vali asked, preparing to be slapped again.
Momon scoffed, "There is no end goal, as long as they aren't bled dry. I can keep raising profits by spreading out my product and news of it." she said before revealing something else. "Along with a special virus to further "motivate" consumers." she added.
Alucard frowned, "That sounds like it could lead to manipulation of an entire populace." He said while ducking a slap from the orc.
"You can say the same thing about advertisements or products that are laced with narcotics." Momon said with another scoff. "And no, it's not a myth. It's only a myth once the narcotics are removed and everyone complains that their favorite drink tastes like crap." She said, confirming suspicions.
"Well it's not like she hasn't already taken control and monopolized most of our economy." Alucard said.
"Now that I think about it, isn't grandma here the contractor for most of our equipment?" Vali asked as he nursed the bruise on his cheek.
"Mostly military and some public service equipment." Naruto confirmed before looking at his adoptive grandmother again. "So why bring up your update?" he asked.
"To be honest, I don't want anyone accusing me of terrorism or controlling some kingdom and enacting civil war. You know, typical stuff that control freaks want." Momon said.
"And how nice it is it to hear that Momon is being honest and fair?" Alucard asked sarcastically before being slapped.
"You're damn right, but watch the sarcasm!" Momon said as Adrian quickly recovers.
"Ignoring your motives and potential damage. What else is there?" Naruto curiously asked.
"I wasn't entirely lying about my rant about connecting everyone. This way, these connections give you boys and that elf from Clover Kingdom a way of seeing everything. You don't even need any real surveillance or espionage." Momon explained.
Naruto nodded, "I can see how it benefits despite the risks." he said.
"Just wait until some idiot shows a live feed of what's going on in their home town." Momon said, predicting how consumers will use her products.
"And what was this about a virus? You mentioned one earlier." Alucard asked.
Momon let out a laugh, "From an intellectual standpoint, it's not a virus but that's what I wanna call it. It's like what Adrian said, it's manipulation of the consumer." she said before showing some posters. "Basically, we create this mental imagery and give people these strange desires and cravings for what I'm trying to sell. Kind of like getting people filled with mixed ideas while also wanting to spend their money." she explained.
"Okay, so we're going to have to confirm that Momon is admitting to convincing people to buy her stuff, but not with the intent to create zombies to obey her will." Vali said.
"Exactly, you're finally getting the point." Momon said. "Anyways like I said earlier, the networks I'm building will literally create all these open connections. You can keep further tabs of whatever is going on in other kingdoms, vassal states, providences and any farm filled with armed hillbillies." she explained.
"This is going to be a massive headache." Alucard said. "We already have magical tools and devices to create open communication. I still cannot fully comprehend the desire for all these other tools you are selling with your machines." He told the snake haired woman.
Momon gently tapped Alucard's head, "Poor Adrian, so young and so naive. I'll send a little demo to your kids and one to little Kunou. I'm sure their generation will enjoy fancy technology over broken mirrors." she said.
"Magic mirrors are more convenient and have lots of use." Naruto pointed out before the troll slapped him. Naruto stayed perfectly in place despite the impact of the slap, "My opinion hasn't changed despite me approving this. Mainly because it's pointless to argue and because magic mirrors are difficult to obtain… and dangerous." He said as he removes the nunchuck from his face.
Vali snickered, "That was a badass party." He said, remembering an incident involving Naruto and a magic mirror.
"Yasaka has been a good wife to have helped discipline you." Momon said.
"Yasaka felt like she was allergic to smiling when I met her." Naruto responded.
"And you two just complement each other so well." Momon said. "Anyways, hang onto that scroll. I'll need some international security prepared for when my company installs the devices needed to build the network and to deliver the actual product." she said before leaving.
"And once again, we're delivery boys." Vali said with a sigh.
"Shouldn't you be meeting your wife and kid for dinner?" Naruto asked with a smirk.
"I hate." Vali said before leaving the room.
With Arashi
As the boy lied asleep in bed, he didn't notice Tomoe suddenly inching closer to his body. While the female dragon unconsciously tried to get close to him. Arashi felt his body heat up and felt a weight on his chest that needed to be removed. As Arashi struggled with this anxious feeling, he had these strange images filling his dreamscape. Images of a blond man fighting for his life against a powerful demon as he stood at the front of a human city.
The man was losing badly but his strength came from his will. The images then transitioned to the man stabbing the demon in the chest and destroying everything surrounding him. The dreams ended with the man returning to the city he had originally defend and raised his sword into the air, allowing the blade to shine and blind the inhabitants with the shining raidiance. Arashi instantly recognized the sword as Evansmana, the sword he was bound to.
At the same time, Arashi learned the requirements needed to wield the Holy Sword. It could only be held by someone with the purest light in their heart could wield the blade. Even after death, the sword is willing to return to the user but that's the problem Arashi now felt. As when his father sealed portions of the kyuubi into him and his siblings. Arashi was granted some amount of greater power but at a cost both physically and mentally. Even now, the young boy's body had begun to alter and felt as if he now had seven beating hearts all around his body.
For a split second, Arashi felt like all of his hearts stopped and when they beat again. The younger brother of the Crimson Emperor awakened and let out a gasp for air.
"Arashi." a voice called out to him. Arashi turned and saw Tomoe had moved next to him, "Are you alright?" she asked, sounding sleepy.
Arashi gripped his forehead, "I think I was literally resurrected." He said.
"Eh?" Tomoe asked.
"Go to sleep, I can't explain it now." Arashi said, not even registering how close Tomoe is now.
Arashi didn't know if it was a fragment of the kyuubi or Evansmana's power trying to mess with him, but he had this feeling that he was in the same position as the man in his dream. A dream where he was the Hero, Kanon.

NOTES: Kanon and Evansmana are from The Misfit of the Demon King Academy and the other sword and its user, Emilia, are from The Devil is a Part Timer. Those two swords and their users will be relevant in a future part of the story and the next arc will be focusing on other points of the story and moving along from the Shield Hero stuff.
