"So let's just dive into the clip that everyone is talking about," the host says with a smile. The screen behind him starts to play the most viral video snippet from the trailer of Annabeth's new movie.
It shows Annabeth Chase in full character walking alongside her co-star Miranda Green talking very vehemently about her shitty boss.
"And to make the day even worse—" her line gets cut by her tripping and falling forward, only to be saved at the last second by a passerby on the street.
"Thanks," she says in a rush, eyes turning from the samaritan who just helped her to something just past him. The camera pan a second later reveals the two women looking at a mural on the side of a building, but the video clip cuts off there.
The audience cheers loudly as the screen fades out and the host turns back to Annabeth Chase and Will Solace sitting on the couch next to him.
"It did not take long for the internet to figure out that the guy on the street that catches you is none other than your boyfriend Percy Jackson."
More cheers as Annabeth smiles and nods.
"Tell us, what's the story behind that? What happened?"
Annabeth smiles. "The scene wasn't intentionally planned actually, I really did trip."
"What? So that was you actually falling?"
"Well, that's a re-creation. I was running through the lines and ironically as I read the part about my day getting worse I actually tripped. Thankfully, Percy had been visiting the set that day, and rushed forward to catch me before I fell."
"Ooooohhh!" The audience reacts accordingly and Percy chuckles as he leans back in his seat.
Watching the interview live from the backstage green room is definitely a first for him, but some really nice people had provided some snacks and he feels a lot more settled in now.
"Yeah," Annabeth chuckles, addressing the audience. "Actually my heels were even taller before and they switched out my shoes so I could walk at the pace we needed for the scene without actually falling. But I would have definitely twisted my ankle if it weren't for Percy."
"Awwwwwwww!" The audience coos and the host agrees.
"That's incredible. So the director saw that and said to keep it in?"
Annabeth nods and he remembers the moment where everyone was staring at them and Annabeth was still in his arms from her near-fall.
He hadn't even been thinking, he just saw her trip and ran forward without caring about the lights, cameras or the set. His heart was still pounding well after he had her wrapped in his arms.
There had been an actual moment of silence right after that, everyone simply staring at the two of them and him most definitely ruining the scene.
He slowly separated from her, making sure she was alright just as the director walked up with a clipboard in hand.
It'd been the moment he thought he'd be banned from ever visiting her set again.
"Marie thought it would be a fun little nod to a backstage moment and help emphasize just how horrible the character's day was," Annabeth continues on screen. "So we made it happen."
"Wow, and Percy, I mean of course since he's in the scene, he was okay with it?"
"He wasn't a big fan of it actually. Partly since I'd need to essentially trip again and partly because he didn't really want attention, but he came round to the idea later on."
"It definitely surprised fans everywhere to see a Percy cameo in the trailer since you two have been pretty private about your relationship."
"We are, but it's not a secret that we're dating and I thought that he should get the credit for catching me since he really did do that."
"Amazing, well there you have it folks, the story behind the most trending clip of Annabeth Chase and Will Solace's new movie!"
The applause cuts to a commercial break and Percy relaxes a little. The story is all out. As soon as the clip had gone viral, he'd had a hard time staying away from social media, reading everyone's opinions.
Most had been nice, some had called him an attention-whore and others just thought it was unnecessary. But now with the truth out, he immediately turns to Twitter again to see what people are saying.
(He knows it's not good for him to do this but he hasn't been PR trained, that's his excuse anyway.)

He smiles to himself as he scrolls. The response is mostly positive so he really can't complain. The commercial break is over and it's time for Will's segment and he wants to be a respectful guest so he puts down his phone and focuses once again on the screen.
(And makes a mental note to check out what fanfic means later.)
