Epilogue- Uncertain Future

"So your strategy worked, then?" asked Prince Alfonse.

"As far as saving Corrin, yes," Robin nodded, Soren standing at his side. "Unfortunately, there were some complications with the escape..."

"What do you mean?" inquired Princess Sharena. "You look like you made it back here all right..."

"Gullveig realized that Seidr was our means of escape and struck her down," Soren explained. "We would have been at her mercy, likely rewound out of existence, had it not been for a deus ex machina..."

"What do you mean by that?" Alfonse pressed.

"He means that Gullveig was suddenly engulfed in light and vanished," Robin replied. "And it wasn't just teleportation, either, because her realm began to collapse upon itself. Fortunately, Sakura and Elise were able to heal Seidr, and she got us out just in time."

"Of course, given our hasty exit, we all ended up in a pile upon arriving back in Midgard," Soren sighed. "We managed to untangle ourselves mostly without incident, though Hinoka almost smothered in Camilla's bosom. And then she had to say, 'Oh dear Hinoka, that spot is reserved for my dear Corrin.' Ugh, some women... Not even Petrine of Daein's Four Riders was that bad when showing her body."

"You realize that Camilla grew up in a broken household," Alfonse pointed out. "From what I've read, she was forced to fight and even kill some of her own siblings, excluding the ones recorded as Heroes... she likely sees Corrin as her chance to have a proper loving sibling relationship without that emotional baggage."

"I can't imagine having to fight Alfonse to the death... how horrible," Sharena lamented.

"Makes me glad I that have no siblings of any sort," Soren deadpanned.

"Funny, I was thinking that younger you that was summoned here was almost like a baby brother to you," Robin pointed out with a knowing smile.

"That's different. He's literally me from another world, another time," Soren argued. "So I can at least predict his behavior to an extent..."

"Uh...!" As if by karma, the child Soren suddenly ran up with arms outstretched, grabbing his counterpart around the leg in a death grip/hug. "Uhhh!"

"I think he missed you," Robin gently ribbed. "Anyway, getting back on topic. That flash of light we saw... it reminded me of the flash that I perceived when I was first summoned here."

"You think Gullveig was summoned?!" Sharena said in disbelief.

"Well, getting pulled into another world would explain why her domain abruptly collapsed," Soren pointed out, one hand patting his younger self's head.

"But Kiran hasn't done any summoning since Corrin was kidnapped," Alfonse said, perplexed. "Unless... of course, she must have been summoned by a Kiran from an alternate Askr! That has to be it!"

"...Well, I guess that's fortunate for us, since it means the crisis is effectively over," Sharena mused. "But does that mean Seidr will have to return to Vanaheimr now? And what does it mean for her possibly becoming Gullveig in the future?"

"That's a good question. But if I could avert my fate to become the Fell Dragon Grima, then it's not set in stone that she'll become the Golden Seer..." Robin asserted.

"Then it seems our next course of action is to try and figure out what caused such a transformation," Alfonse nodded. "We should see if we can consult Njordr and Nerthuz for advice on this..."

*Elsewhere...*

"How are you feeling, Seidr?" Corrin asked as she approached the goddess.

"I'm just fine," she replied. "Are you concerned about my injury from Gullveig's attack? Because it seems Sakura and Elise's healing staves took care of everything."

"Well, I would be concerned if you started to become corrupted," Corrin said in response. "I mean... with what we learned about you and Gullveig..."

"I can't deny that it concerns me," Seidr's smile faded. "But I can't imagine what possibly could have caused me to fall into evil like that..."

"She seemed pretty depressed when she was reminiscing... somehow, I don't think she became the Golden Seer willingly," Corrin mused. "It's like she was cursed, like your sister Heidr was... she mentioned that her Heidr was dead. Maybe upon death, the curse was transferred to you...?"

"Oh no..." Seidr looked crestfallen. "But even so, I don't think that alone would be enough... there must be something else."

"If I may," Xander said as he walked up. "When we were on our way to save you from Gullveig's clutches, I overheard Elise and Sakura pondering how you were corrupted, and they thought that maybe another god deceived you somehow... in other words, somebody else might be pulling strings from behind the scenes, to ensure you become the Golden Seer and bring destruction to all mortals..."

Seidr looked horrified at the implication. "But... what god would hate humanity so much, that they would turn me into their instrument of destruction?! I can't possibly fathom that...!"

"Well, it's just a theory," Corrin tried to assuage her worry. "We don't know for sure if that's the case... but if Heidr's condition worsens, I think the Order of Heroes should be with you two so we can try and head off any attempts to transfer the curse to you, if we're unable to save her..."

"I... I understand," Seidr nodded grimly. "I still hope we can save her... but if not..."

"Then we will do what needs to be done," Xander finished for her. "On that note, do you have any idea why your future self would be attracted to Corrin? Clearly you in the present time don't think of her that way..."

"Actually, she told me that her fate was a closed loop, unlike mine," Corrin interjected. "She tried to break the cycle in the past, to no avail... she was attracted to me because I could choose my fate, unlike her."

"That would explain it," Seidr nodded. "I do admire how you were able to stop all your siblings from fighting each other, and bring the war between Hoshido and Nohr to an end once and for all... but that's as far as it goes."

"Heidr seemed to think there was something between you and the summoner, though, didn't she?" Xander recalled.

"What?! I, um..." Seidr's face went red. "I, I think that's an exaggeration... I gave Kiran a revelation, certainly, but... I simply have a deep respect for him, that's all!"

"Is someone gossiping behind my back?" a male voice spoke up, the trio turning to see none other than the summoner himself standing there, with Breidablik in hand.

"Oh, hello, Kiran," Corrin nodded and smiled. "No, we were just talking about Heidr and how she seems to ship you and Seidr together..."

"Um, but I'm a mere mortal," Kiran shook his head, a slight blush visible under his hood. "I don't think I'm worthy of a goddess, even a lesser one like Seidr here..."

"Well, you were worthy enough to receive my revelation," Seidr said, before realizing the implication of that phrase. "Oh! Um, I mean, not like that, but..."

"We understand, Goddess Seidr," Xander jumped in. "Like you just said, you respect him for bringing all of us Heroes together to fight for Askr's peace, correct?"

"Y, yes! That's exactly what I mean," Seidr concurred, taking a breath to calm herself. "Th-thank you, Prince Xander..."

"Anyway, if you're coming this way, does that mean it's time for summoning?" Corrin asked the summoner.

"Yes! Yes it is," Kiran nodded vigorously. "So, let us proceed to the gates then!" He walked off at a faster pace then normal, Seidr and the others hurrying to catch up...

*And so...*

"So who are you going to summon this time?" Corrin couldn't help but ask.

"I was going to try for a healer, hopefully one that knows something about dispelling curses," Kiran replied as he loaded five orbs into his Breidablik. "Unfortunately, Tharja couldn't help with Heidr's condition, so..."

"Well, I appreciate your efforts in trying nonetheless," Seidr assured him.

"It's strange how that woman bears such a resemblance to Hayato's daughter, even though they're completely unrelated," Corrin pondered.

"Well, let us focus on the summoning for now," Xander said as he observed Kiran pulling the trigger, the five orbs arranging themselves into a circular formation, changing to different colors. "It appears there are two colorless..."

"Here goes then," Kiran said as he touched a colorless orb, which shot toward the summoning stone, said stone engulfed in a soft light... which soon faded to reveal...

"Oh, it's Prince Ryoma's retainer. Saizo, was it?" Xander greeted.

"Hmph. Why have you called me to Nohr's crown prince?" Saizo grumbled. "Is this some kind of joke?"

"Well, I'm not laughing," Kiran shook his head. "You can go home, I don't need you."

"Good." With that, Saizo vanished, leaving behind a small pile of feathers.

"Well, that was disappointing," Corrin sighed. "Shall we try again?"

"We shall," Kiran agreed as he loaded four orbs into the Briedablik for another summoning... once the colored orbs had reactivated, he touched the other colorless orb, which again shot toward the summoning stone, a pillar of light resulting which caused all present to shield their eyes! "Ugh, it's a powerful one!" the summoner grunted.

"But who or what is it?" Xander said as he tried to peer into the light.

"I don't know, but it seems familiar, somehow...!" Seidr perceived.

(Familiar...?) Corrin thought, a feeling of foreboding welling up in her heart. Then the light began to fade, Corrin's heart dropping into the pit of her stomach as she saw snakes behind a voluptuous female figure!

"Oh, Corrin... did you think you could escape so easily...? I told you, this was inevitable."

"It can't be!" Seidr cried in disbelief. Sure enough, it was none other than Gullveig, wearing her standard leotard and detached sleeves, her face segueing into a smirk as she gazed upon Corrin.

"You fool, what have you done?!" Xander yelled at Kiran. "Hurry and send her back!"

"Are you sure you want to?" Gullveig teased as she floated close to Kiran, her chest level with his head... Kiran jerked back as blood began spurting from his nose, collapsing to the ground with a hand to his face! "And now for you..." Before Corrin could react, the Golden Seer had grabbed her in an affectionate embrace, nuzzling her head into her bosom! "Nerthuz taught me this, long ago..."

"Let her go!" Seidr demanded as she ran at the duo. But one of Gullveig's snake heads took her staff and blasted the goddess with dark magic, Seidr slamming into a nearby stone pillar and falling unconscious.

"What do I do?" Xander fretted, having drawn his sword but unable to do anything.

"-CAMILLA!" Corrin cried as she pulled free briefly, only for Gullveig to grab her head and bury it in her bosom once more.

"Oh! Yes! I will retrieve her at once!" Xander comprehended, quickly dashing back to the castle.

"Look on... the bright side..." Kiran grunted, still trying to stop his nosebleed. "At least... the contract... keeps her from... erasing us from time..."

(Small comfort,) Corrin thought as she controlled her breathing to keep from smothering in Gullveig's 'marshmallow hell'.

*The End(?)*
