Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of update for my stories. I know I promised to update my other stories, and I will try to work on them when I can. But for now, I will update this story. I am not going to lie, I love writing this story since I have been wanting to write a Harry Potter story. I just hope you all enjoy it while I work on this.

Anyways, let us begin Shaun's start of his journey!

Chapter 3

A few days have passed after Dumbledore visited Shaun and his family and extended an invitation to attend Hogwarts, a supposed school for magic. While Shaun was in disbelief that he himself could use magic, but he is excited that he is going to a school with people his age. He was going over the letter and the list of supplies that he is required to take and, while he understands why he would need them, but because he is starting late as a fifth year, he will be getting a lot of books for him to read. While he has the money to purchase all of the supplies, the problem will be going to King's Crossing to board a train to go to Hogwarts. His family is located in the middle of nowhere and they have no means of transportation to go to this train station. Shaun would need to speak to this person that Dumbledore is sending in regards to this problem. From what the date that Dumbledore provided for them, they know that it would be August 7 at best. Regardless, they are still waiting for this person to arrive.

Outside, Nate and Shaun were expanding the area a bit as they cleared out a section of a field and begin to plant crops to grow. Now that they are fresh fruits and vegetables, it will be better to eat rather than the crops they are familiar with. As for the meat, they don't have to worry about it since there is plenty of deer around their area, so that is a good thing.

After they were finished, Shaun wiped the sweat off his forehead and said "That should take care of it for now."

"Yeah, great job," Nate said, "Why don't we grab some Nuka Colas and see what else to improve."

Nodding, both Shaun and his father were making their way to their home and, just as they were about to head in, that is when they heard the sounds of engine closing in. Confused, the both of them looked around and saw nothing until they looked up into the sky and that is when they both saw a large figure driving on what looks like to be a motorcycle that had a sidecar attached to it. Eventually, the cyclist arrived as the motorcycle touched the ground and eventually stopped. They saw the large man getting off as they were shocked to see the man standing about 8' tall, was wearing work clothes, and had long black hair and a large beard.

Taking off the goggles he was wearing, the giant of a man turned to them, smiled and said "Hello. You must be the new student Professor Dumbledore told me about."

"I-I am," Shaun said, "And…you are?"

The man replied "Rubeus Hagrid, I am the groundskeeper of Hogwarts."

"Oh!" Shaun said as he held out his hand, "Nice to meet you, sir! My name is Shaun Sinclair!"

Hagrid smiled as he shook Shaun's hand and said "Well nice to meet you, Shaun. I suppose that Dumbledore told you?"

Shaun nodded and said "Yeah, that you were going to take me to Diagon Alley to get my school supplies."

Nate then said "I know this is bit of a stretch, but does the magical world have some sort of bank?"

"Oh we do," Hagrid said, "Gringotts Wizarding Bank. It's located in Diagon Alley actually."

Shaun looked at his father and asked "What are you thinking?"

Nate replied "I'm thinking that you make an account with them and we can put all the money we have so that you can have it."

Shocked by this, Shaun said "But dad, what about you guys? What if you need money?"

Nate chuckled and said "I am sure that the money we have will only be used in the magical world and not anywhere else. If we have this money, I would rather you use it for Hogwarts."

Shaun smiled and said "Thanks dad. But…how am I going to take all the money to the bank?"

Hearing this, Hagrid patted his coat and said "Hold on, I think I have it here."

Both Nate and Shaun looked at Hagrid as took out a medium sized satchel. He handed it to Shaun and said "Here ya go. Professor Dumbledore has made this for it. That there can hold as many items as you can."

"Oh, like an endless bag? Cool!" Shaun said, "I'll go put the money in and we'll head off!"

With that, Shaun rushed into the house as Nate was alone with Hagrid. He admits that Hagrid's size would give any Super Mutant a run for it's money. Nate then cleared his throat and asked "So Hagrid, you're a groundskeeper?"

"Well ya," Hagrid said, "I am also the Care for Magical Beasts professor. I, uh, I got the position of professor last year."

"Oh really?" Nate said while nodding his head, "That's good to hear. I am guessing you teach students on how to properly handle animals?"

"That is one way to put it," Hagrid said, "Some of these creatures are very misunderstood."

"Well, I hope you teach my son how to properly handle them," Nate said.

"Oh I will," Hagrid said.

After a while, Shaun stepped out of the house and joined his dad and Hagrid and said excitedly "Can you believe that I was able to fit all of the gold inside this bag?! How awesome is that?!"

"Right then!" Hagrid said, "Shall we head on out?"

Before Shaun was about to reply back, he remembered something and said "Oh, before I forget, Mr. Hagrid?"

"Just Hagrid is fine," Hagrid said.

"Alright," Shaun said, "Well, I was looking over my letter and it said that I would need to go to King's Crossing to board a train to Hogwarts. Thing is, we are in the middle of nowhere and have no means of getting there."

Hagrid replied "Hmm, well, if you like, you can stay in the Leaky Cauldron until the term starts."

Shaun felt a bit concerned and said "You know, if I want to take the train, I have to stay there for about a month before September 1?"

Hagrid replied "Well, if you want to."

As Shaun stood there deciding what to do, Nate saw him and said "Shaun…if you want…you can stay there until school starts."

Shocked by this, Shaun looked at his father and said "Y-You sure? That would mean that this will be the last time we will see each other."

Hagrid then said "Well, you can come visit them during the Christmas break."

"Oh good, Christmas is still a thing," Nate muttered.

He then looked at Shaun and said "Shaun, I know the time we had was short, but I always want the best for you. Now that we have a second chance and an opportunity for you to grow as a person, I say go for it."

Shaun smiled at his dad as he rushed up to him and hugged him. As Nate smiled back and hugged his son, Hagrid saw this as he looked away and started to choke up in tears a bit. The father and son stopped hugging as Nate then whispered something into Shaun's ear, to which the young boy nodded and quickly rushed inside.

Hagrid was curious as to why Shaun went back inside as Nate said "He just went back in to gather a few stuff since he has that magical bag. He will be out soon.

Hagrid nodded as they waited a bit as Shaun rushed back outside, looked at his father and said "I will try to write to you guys when I have the chance."

"Just be careful out there, kiddo," Nate said.

Shaun nodded as he looked at Hagrid and said "I am ready to go."

Hagrid coughed a bit and said "Alright then, hope on and we will head on out."

Nodding, Shaun followed Hagrid as he took a seat into the sidecar while Hagrid got onto the motorcycle. As Shaun looked back at his father one last time, Hagrid started the motorcycle as they then drove off and were suddenly in the air. Shaun practically held on to his dear life but soon relaxed as he cheered in excitement as they flew into the open sky.

Later in the day…

After a long flight, along with staying out of sight when they landed, Hagrid escorted Shaun to a pub called The Leaky Cauldron. While they walk, Shaun was amazed and in awe as they pass by the buildings. While in the future, everything was destroyed and left in ruins after the bombs dropped in 2077. But now? Everything was intact while people were doing their own business and the cars were in condition and were being driven! But right now, he was on his way to Diagon Alley.

After going inside the pub, Hagrid led Shaun through the pub and was inside a storage room with a brick wall facing the opposite of them. Feeling a bit worried, Shaun placed his right hand over his satchel and asked "Why are we in here?"

Hagrid looked at him and replied "It's one of the ways to get to Diagon Alley."

Holding the umbrella that he had, to which Shaun wondered where it came from, Hagrid began to tap the brinks in a certain order and, once he was done, the brinks suddenly started to move on their own as they begin to open a pathway.

Hagrid looked down at Shaun and said "Welcome to Diagon Alley."

Walking past the entry, Shaun was amazed by the shops and the people walking by. Everywhere he looks, there is something new to see. The two walked past the shops, Shaun eagerly to go in and see what he can find, and they arrived at Gringotts Bank. As they both entered, Shaun looked around and saw the goblins conducting their work as he saw them stamping and writing on parchment. This would have caused Shaun to be startled, but he has seen worse in the future, so they don't freak him out like normal people.

When they reached the front desk, Hagrid coughed as the goblin looked up. He then said "Mr. Sinclair here would like to open an account."

The goblin set his quill to the side as he stood up, looked at Shaun and asked "Does Mr. Sinclair have a parent or guardian present?"

Shaun shook his head and replied "My parents aren't here nor do I have a guardian. They are both…um…Muggles, I think that's what they would be called, and I am the only wizard in the family. My father said it was alright for me to have an account for myself."

The goblin stared at Shaun for a moment and said "Very well then."

With that began a long process for Shaun to open an account for Gringotts. While Shaun was a bit worried about his money being in a bank, since they cease to exist in the future and there was a risk that the money he has would be stolen, Hagrid assured him that Gringotts was the safest and secured place in the world. Which made Shaun feel a bit relief.

Once his vault was selected though…that is when Shaun learned the hard way on how they reach a vault, which was in a minecart as they drove underground into the depths of the bank. At first he was enjoying the ride, but once it started to go fast, downward AND seeing the wheels of the cart spin around him, it honestly made Shaun sick a bit. Eventually, they stopped at a vault and they all got off…to which Shaun was slowly recovering from the ride. As they stood in front of the vault, the goblin accompanying them held out a gold key, insert it into the keyhole as the vault door opened up and revealed an empty room.

The goblin turned to them and said "Vault 845 is available for you to use."

"Great to hear," Shaun said as he recovered a bit, "Is it okay for me to just dump my galleons in, take only what I need and leave it there for you guys to sort it?"

"How much will you withdraw?" the goblin asked.

Shaun replied "About 5,000. Don't know much about the magical world, so better safe than sorry."

The goblin nodded as he stepped aside as Shaun walked in, held up his satchel and begins to carefully dump out all the galleons he had while keeping only 5,000 on him. Once he was done, Shaun closed the vault door as the goblin handed him his key and they all returned topside. Once Shaun and Hagrid left, that is when they began shopping for his supplies. First thing was getting ALL the books that he is required to get. Since he is starting Hogwarts as a fifth year, that means he will be way behind and he would need to catch up with his fellow classmates. Luckily, he will be staying at the pub since it will have a room for him to stay in, so he would be able to read and learn what he can before heading to Hogwarts. And thankfully, the satchel that Dumbledore provided for him was able to hold all his books and wasn't weighting him down. If only he had this back when he was living in the Commonwealth.

Next up would be his school uniform and supplies. While getting his size measured for his uniforms, it hit Shaun that he would need to get new, cleaner clothes since the one he had was a bit clean, but it was the only one he had on him. So once he was done with everything, he would need to find a shop for him to buy new clothes. Luckily, Diagon Alley has a shop for Shaun to browse and buy new clothes.

After buying all the supplies he needed, Shaun looked down at his list and said "I still need a wand and a pet."

"A wand?" Hagrid said, "Then you would have to go to Ollivander's. Best place to find a wand. As for a pet, I wouldn't mind getting you one."

Shaun thought about it and asked "Any recommendations?"

Hagrid instantly replied "Well, if you want to talk to your family, I would recommend an owl. You can use the to send letters to them and they can send one back."

"Perfect!" Shaun said as he handed Hagrid 20 galleons, "Mind if you get me one while I get a wand?"

"Of course," Hagrid said, "I actually saw one that would be perfect for you. I will meet with you after you get your wand."

Shaun nodded as he headed inside Ollivander's. When he entered, he saw the place was a bit dimmed, there were hundreds of rectangular boxes along the shelves, assuming that's where the wands are in, and some of them were covered in webbings.

As he was close to the front desk, Shaun said "Um, hello? Anyone here?"

From the back room, an elderly man made his way to the front desk and looked at Shaun. The man said "Hello, my name is Ollivander. And you are?"

"My name is Shaun Sinclair," Shaun said, "I am here for a wand."

Ollivander was a bit surprised and said "A bit old to be getting a wand, aren't you?"

Shaun nervously chuckled and said "Yes, I am starting Hogwarts as a fifth year."

"Is that so?" Ollivander asked, "I've never had a customer starting the school so late."

Shaun just shrugged and said "Well, first time for everything, right?"

Ollivander let out a small laugh and said "Yes, I suppose so. Well then, why don't we find you a match, shall we?"

"Of course," Shaun said before asking, "Wait, find one? I don't get to choose?"

"Oh it's not that simple, Mr. Sinclair," Ollivander said as he went to a nearby shelf and begins to look at the cases for a wand, "A wizard does not choose a wand, the wand chooses the wizard."

Seeing a green case, Ollivander pulled it out as he headed back to the front desk. He opened it up, took out a brown wand as he handed to Shaun and said "Hollywood, dragon heartstring, 11 ½ inches."

Raising an eyebrow, Shaun gently held to wand and examines it. Ollivander then said "Well give it a wave."

Nodding, Shaun waved the wand and, all of a sudden, the wand cases from a nearby shelf were violently thrown off to the ground. Startled, Shaun carefully set the wand down as Ollivander said "I suppose it's not that one."

After a moment, Ollivander got down from a ladder in the back room while holding a red case. He took out a white wand and said "Ashwood, unicorn hair, 13 inches."

Grabbing the wand, Shaun waved it as it flew out of his hand and, once it was in the air, it started to fire fireworks as it brightened the room. After a while, it landed onto the desk as Ollivander said "Not that one as well…"

20 wands.

Shaun had tried about 20 wands and none of them were an ideal match for him. And from the looks of it, he was slowly ruining Ollivander's shop. While Ollivander was assuring him that things like this happen all the time, Shaun still felt that he responsible for this destruction he is causing. He sighed to himself and thought that maybe he wasn't a wizard and that the crystal ball might have caused Dumbledore to think he was one.

Just as Ollivander put away a case, he began to look in the back room to find another wand for Shaun to try. While he admitted that it is a long process for a wand to choose Shaun, but he wasn't going to give up. Just as he was about to head to the middle section, he heard a loud crash as he turned and saw a bunch of cases falling over. When he went to go pick them up, that is when he noticed a safe that was attached to a wall that was somehow forced open. Curious, he opened the safe as there was a single black wand case inside that was completely covered in webbing. He was quite shocked to see this safe opened. He has heard stories about this safe from his father when he took over the shop. But why would the safe suddenly open now when…

"I wonder…" Ollivander said.

While Shaun was curious on what Ollivander was doing, the wandmaker made his way back to the front as he set the black case down and opened it. From the case, Ollivander took out a wand that was completely black, the handle had a swirl grip to it and it had a strange jagged tooth on the end of the handle. Stepping over until he was in front of Shaun, Ollivander held the wand at him. Wanting to see how it was, Shaun grabbed to wand and firmly grasped it. The moment Shaun held onto the wand, all of a sudden, the entire room suddenly turned dark as the air felt deadly cold as the end of the wand started to glow a bright white of light before it dimmed down as the room returned to normal. Shaun definitely felt the power of the wand coursing through his body and felt that this was the wand for him.

"Curious…" Ollivander said, "How curious…"

Confused, Shaun looked at Ollivander and asked "Why is it curious?"

Ollivander carefully took Shaun's wand and said "I know every wand that is stored in this store. This wand however was created long before my ancestors opened this shop. Before, they would experiment which cores and wood to use for a wand. Of course, my family have relied on using phoenix feather, dragon heartstring, and unicorn hair for the core while the wands were made from a variety of wood."

He then held up the wand and said "This wand however was made from the wood of a dying elder tree while the core was a hair taken from a Thestral. An odd combination, but one that they hoped would recreate a…unique wand."

Looking at the wand, Shaun asked "And were they successful?"

"In a way," Ollivander said, "However, the results were…disastrous. The wand was too unstable and dangerous to use, so they locked the wand away for safe keeping."

"If the wand was that dangerous, why not destroy it?" Shaun asked.

Ollivander replied in a serious tone "While we created wands that are unfit to use, we do not destroy them for they are still our life's work. But what's curious is the fact that this wand…"

He held up Shaun's wand and said "Has decided to choose it's wizard and for it to choose one that has just learned about magic late in life is a mystery. I am rather curious on what your path will be, Mr. Sinclair. After all, much like this wand, your path will be unpredictable. Whether you learn magic for good or for your own desire. I look forward to that."

With that, Ollivander handed Shaun his wand back as Shaun stared down at his wand.

After paying for his wand, Shaun headed to the Leaky Cauldron where he met up with Hagrid, who had a brown Great Horned owl in a cage. Shaun smiled at the owl as he got the cage and said "Thanks Hagrid! Wow, it looks great!"

"He looks great," Hagrid said, "So…what will you name him?"

Looking at the owl, Shaun chuckled and said "Grognak."

"Ooooh that is a good name," Hagrid said, "You got your wand?"

"I did," Shaun said, "I also bought a wand holster for it."

"That's great to hear," Hagrid said, "So…will you be alright on your own?"

Shaun nodded and replied "I will. I will spend most of my time looking through to books and see what how much I can learn before the term starts."

"Alright then," Hagrid said, "Then I will meet you in the morning and head to King's Crossing and you will board the train."

As Shaun looked at him, he noticed that he had a worried look on his face and asked "Is…everything alright?"

Hagrid coughed a bit and replied "Well…I am a bit worried for a friend of mine. He's a student, the same year as you in fact, and he is going to be on trial in a few days."

"On trial? For what?" Shaun asked.

Hagrid replied "For underage use of magic. But it was only for defense, but the Ministry…well…I don't want to get into it."

Nodding, Shaun said "Well, if you want, you can go see your friend if you like. I don't mind."

"That is kind of you," Hagrid said, "But Dumbledore told me not to worry about it and that he will handle it."

Shaun nodded and said "If you say so. Then, I guess we will see each other again soon?"

"Yeah," Hagrid said, "It has been great to know you. I will see you soon and, if you like, come visit me. I live in a hut just outside of Hogwarts."

"Sounds like a plan," Shaun said, "Take care Hagrid."

Hagrid nodded as he soon left the Leaky Cauldron. Sighing in relief from the day, Shaun headed to the room that was provided for him and set the cage on the table. Seeing all the books off to the side, he knows that he has a lot of work to do before school starts. But before that, he would need to let his dad know that everything was taken care off. Taking out a parchment, an ink container and a quill, Shaun sat down as he began to write a letter to his dad.

And that is it for this chapter. Now, I don't know when Hagrid would be sent to speak with the giants in the book, but I figure to have him around when he escorts Shaun to the platform before heading out. And while I want Shaun to head back, I figure he stay in the wizarding world and study to learn to perform spells. And considering how smart Shaun is, he would easily catch on. And of course, Shaun setting up an account at Gringotts would be the smart thing to do considering Shaun is the only wizard in his family. Though it would be funny if he treats his money like it's nothing since it's means to an end back where he is from and everyone around him will be like "You have a million Galleons! My man, your family could retire with that type of money! And you're treating it like a joke!". Just a funny thought to consider.

Now, I would like to talk about the most important thing about this chapter: his wand. While I do want Shaun to get his new wand in like 3 tries, I figure he would go through a lot of wands before getting his wand. Now, I did some research on the wand and of course I went with the elder tree and Thestral hair. Now, from what I understand, I know that the Elder Wand is made from an elder tree and the core is Thestral hair, which is one of the reasons why I want Shaun to have it, but another reason is because I want it to symbolize death and rebirth considering Shaun is just a synthetic clone of the original Shaun. And while Synth Shaun isn't the original Shaun, he would still represent both death and rebirth. I find it poetic that a wand that was never meant to be used chooses a wizard that was never supposed to exist. It is like Ollivander once said "The wand chooses it's wizard".

Anyways, with that all said and done, I hoped you like this chapter. Next time, Shaun's ride on the Hogwarts Express. Until then, stay safe and review!
