WD: Serena

Sinnoh International Airport; Jubilife City, Sinnoh. 3rd March, 2019. Seventeen days after the proposal. 3:37am.

"All passengers boarding flight 207 to Lumiouse City in Kalos, please board now, Thank you."

Misty and Ash ran down to the desk, out of breath. "Hi," Misty panted, bending over to catch her breath.

Ash raised his arm. "Here," he told the brunette at the desk, handing her their boarding passes.

The woman raised an eyebrow, but looked over the passes nonetheless.

She smiled. "You're good to go," she told them, ushering the couple onto the flight. "Thanks!" Misty called after her.

Ash put an arm around his fiancée. "We made it!" he grinned at her. Misty glared at the upbeat man. "Barely," she reminded him. Ash shrugged. "Doesn't matter," he nudged her as they sat in their seats.

Misty looked out the window, and then back at him. "Are you sure this is a good idea?" she murmured.

Ash grabbed her right hand and squeezed it gently. "I'm sure," he confirmed, giving Misty a determined look.

Lumiouse City, Kalos. 3rd March, 2019. Seventeen days after the proposal. 5:20pm.

"Hey" a voice muttered on the phone. Serena sighed contently. "Hi," she whispered. "What are you doing?" the voice asked.

"Nothing," The honey blonde smiled, though she knew her crush couldn't see it. "You?" The voice on the other side chuckled. "Talking to you,"

Serena grinned. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. "Who's that?" the voice asked. "Boyfriend?" The voice drawled out.

Serena giggled at the bitter tone. "Calem!" she whined lowly as she got up to get the door.

"You know for a fact that I don't have a stupid-" Her jaw slacked as she took in the sight in front of her. "Uh, hi!" Misty waved awkwardly. "Are you Serena?" she asked.

Serena nodded. "Rena?" the voice on the phone called. Serena put the phone to her ear. "I'll…uh, talk to you later, if that's okay?" she asked.

Calem sensed the distress in her voice. "Sure," he agreed. "Tonight?" he asked. "Tonight," she confirmed before hanging up.

"Misty Waterflower? What're you doing here?" she asked as she let the redhead in. "How'd you know who I am?" Misty asked.

Serena grinned. "Well, Ash Ketchum talked about you all the time when we travelled," she replied. Misty groaned. Suddenly, there was another knock. Serena answered it once again.

"Ash!" she recoiled. "Wh-wha?" she asked. Misty walked up to Ash and handed him a five dollar bill. "Damnit." she muttered under her breath. "Womp-womp," Ash teased, scooping the bill into his pocket.

"Hey Serena! Long time no see, huh?" he grinned. "what're you guys doing here?" The blonde asked. Misty grinned and held up her hand.

"Well, Ashy boy over here decided to marry me!" she sighed contently. Serena blinked. "And?"

Ash put an arm around Misty's shoulder. "And we wanted to invite you and a plus one to our wedding. The invites will come in shortly, but we wanted to tell you ourselves!" he told her.

Serena nodded. "That's great guys!" she smiled. Misty blinked. "I have a question," she said. Serena turned to her. "Yeah?" she asked.

"How are you so cheerful? I thought-" "That I was in love with Ash?" Misty nodded. Serena sighed.

"Well things change. So did my feelings. And now I'm happy with the man I love, though I don't know if he loves me yet," she responded.

Misty nodded slowly. "I think it get it," she said. "Thanks," Serena smiled. "No problem."
