Rivercourt Rambles

Chapter 15

The expression on Brooke's face softened.

"This is the kind of bonding and quality time. I always wanted to have. I'll let Lucas know and i'll be in contact."

"This is a really nice idea mom. Thank you for making an effort."

"It means alot to me." Brooke said.

Victoria smiled. "I think i've made enough mistakes to know better at this point. Plus i don't really know Karen or Keith." She replied.

The lunch between the three was really uneventful.

Ted hugged Brooke and insisted she use one of their drivers.

"I think eventually you should let someone else drive you where you need to be. I'm sure Lucas would be on board with that."

"The pregnancy is alot to manage on it's own." Ted suggested.

"I appreciate the concern daddy. But Luke has been very protective throughout this pregnancy. I don't need him getting any new ideas."

"Thank you for lunch." Brooke replied.

"Having brunch with Keith. Karen. And Lucas Scott. That is very unlike you Vickie." Ted proclaimed. Once they were alone.

"Believe it or not. I do value having our daughter in our life."

"I put the company anything else i thought mattered before being her mom. I have more regret then you know about that."

"We've been far from ideal parents. Yet Brooke made the choice to open her heart again and include us."

"That means alot." Victoria admitted.

...

"On a scale of 1 to 20 how bad is labor and delivery going to be.?" Brooke asked. As she turned the sign on her store front door from open to closed.

"Well every situation is different and unique."

"I mean drugs or no drugs you're going to feel alot."

"I would advise not to focus on that. And instead think about the end result. Holding you're beautiful babies." Haley stated matter of fact.

"I made you a playlist. To distract you and hopefully keep you motivated." Peyton added in.

...

"I want to know what you're up too.?" Lucas asked.

"Traveling. And taking pictures. Living life on my own terms."

"Which my parents don't understand or relate too."

"You're going to run out of time. Anna."

"While they praise Felix for doing what they expected." Anna explained.

"Are things any better with the two of you.?" Lucas questioned.

No big surprise. We have no relationship. And it's probably better that way."

"So you are this big success story. Famous writer. Married to Brooke Davis. I wasn't expecting to read that headline." Anna admitted.

"Why is that.?" Lucas asked.

"Well you're you and she's her. You're worlds don't exactly fit together. The two of you are so opposite." Anna replied.

"Luke you are never going to believe how this went with my parents." Brooke proclaimed. Announcing her presence. As she entered Lucas's office.

"Was i interrupting work.?" Brooke asked. Looking to her husband.

"No you remember Anna from high school. She's a traveling photographer. She was in Cape Cod at the same time we were. Small world." Lucas explained.

"Right. It's nice seeing you again Anna. Any friend of Lucas's is a friend of mine." Brooke replied.

"I should go. Thanks for hanging out Luke."

"I'll leave the two of you to talk." Anna said. As she left office.

"Now what happened with you're parents.?" Lucas questioned.

"My mom suggested. Her and my dad. Us. And Karen and Keith."

"Meet for brunch. I was stunned. My mom is really wanting to make things work for the sake of the twins."

"I just need you to make sure Karen and Keith show up. And you too." Brooke explained.

"Ted's disapproving frown and Victoria's obvious hatred. While trying to make conversation. That will make time go slow."

"But out of love for you and our babies. I'll put on a smile and not cause a scene." Lucas replied.

"Thank you. So the dress code is formal. We're going to their country club." Brooke explained.

...
