The Hive: Well, well, well. You came back for more, I see? How cute. Homecoming's a week away and I've got much to plan, for now, enjoy some fluff and drama.
XO,
The Hive.
7 Days until Homecoming…
Punch. Kick. Smack. Repeat. Punch. Kick. Smack. Dick continued to assault the punching bag in front of him as Vic and Wally watched in boredom. Sweat was dripping off his brow, his eyebrows knitted together in concentration, and his jaw tight. His shoulders were tense, and his knuckles began to bruise. Wally leaned over to Vic, his gaze never moving away from Dick's stance "So…you think this is about the K-O-R-Y blast?" "What do you think?" Vic remembered when he saw the blast for the first time. He was in the middle of pumping iron in his room when his phone buzzed. At first, he was shocked when he saw it, but then later confused. Something wasn't right and it wasn't about the two locking lips.
The last time he talked to Xavier, Xavier asked about Kory as if he knew nothing about her and Kory told Dick that she had a boyfriend before that conversation. Things weren't adding up between the two stories, someone was lying. However, he wouldn't tell Dick that, on account, Dick would have investigated how he knew about it. Still, it'd be wrong if he didn't talk to Kory about it and hear her side of the story. "Ahh!" Dick hissed, he glanced down at his knuckles, they were bleeding. "All right, Connor McGregor. I think that's it for the day," Wally got up from his seat on the bench and walked towards Dick. Dick stepped away from him, then grunted "No, I'm fine. It's just a small cut—""—Wally's right, dude…I can't believe I just said that" Vic touched his mouth in confusion as Wally rolled his eyes and continued. "Coach will kick your ass if you sprain that hand. Especially before homecoming," Wally touched Dick's shoulder, only for Dick to shrug it off and turn back to the punching bag.
Wally shook his head, then shuffled back over to Vic "I tried, I can't get through—" "—Ah!" "—To him," Vic rubbed his head "You owe me, big time. If he kicks me in the balls, there's no promise as to what I'll do to him," He pushed himself off the bench and made his way over to Dick. Vic wrapped his arms around Dick's torso "Hey! Let me go!" Dick began to kick furiously as Vic threw him over his shoulder. "Come on, tiger. We're gonna be late for class," Dick squirmed under Vic's grip.
Vic placed Dick down on the bench in the locker room as Wally followed behind them. They both sat on the opposite side of Dick, Vic had his arm on his shoulder, just to keep him still. "I'm fine," Dick grunted. "Dude, you're not "He folded his arms as Wally patted his head. "Look, we get it. The girl you liked is going out with your frenemy, enemy, what was Xavier to you again?" Dick pointed a finger to Wally's chest. "Don't mention their names," Wally put up his hands in defeat "Okay, okay. I won't, geez" Vic turned Dick around to him "Look, we're just trying to help. That's all, homecoming is soon and we still gotta find you a date. I would let you go with Bee, on account of you both still being in the running. But she doesn't want to be separated from me," Dick rolled his eyes under his shades "What a shock," Sarcasm dripped from his tongue.
Wally wrapped his arm around Dick's shoulder and pulled him in close. "You know what boss; I think this would be a great opportunity for you to have a hot piece of ass on your arm. No strings attached, just a girl, with a hot bod, and doesn't talk much" "Ew, Wally. That sounds ter—""—Stupid, utterly stupid. You don't talk about girls like that, dude" Vic interrupted as a look of disgust dawned on his face. "I'm just giving you some pointers on finding the perfect homecoming date," Dick sighed and removed Wally's arm from him. He pushed himself off the bench, then headed towards the gym doors. He turned around to them with a stoic expression on his face, "All I can say is…fuck homecoming," With that said, Dick pushed the double doors open and left.
Rachel drew small hearts in her journal around her and Mr. Malchoir's name. She couldn't believe that he kissed her. He returned the same affection that she held for so long. If there was someone up above, she'd be thanking them right now. Her phone buzzed, she glanced up at the teacher who was deep into the lesson, then took it out of her pocket. It was a text from him, she smiled to herself. "Study Session after school!" How romantic. All weekend, they'd sneak glances at each other. She'd smile and think of their heated exchange, he'd do the same. He texted her in between breaks, then give her a goodnight text at the end of the night. They couldn't hold hands, but she would walk behind him. No one suspected that anything was going on between them. It was their own little secret. It was the last period of the day, and she could count the minutes before she'd see him again.
They came up with an arrangement that fit both their schedules and unsuspecting students. She was going over to his house for "study sessions" which he explained could be whatever she wanted. A makeup session, book rant, watching movies, she got to choose. A perfect evening, she wouldn't give up on anything in the world. Rachel glanced up at the clock, 2:30 P.M. She had thirty minutes left before she'd walk to Mr. Malchoir's apartment. It'd be the first time she'd seen it and to be honest, her curiosity was getting the best of her. What does it look like on the inside? Is Mr. Malchoir different than what he showed his students? Was he psychotic or a secret retired frat boy? Rachel tapped her fingers on the desk and watched the clock tick away. It was only 2:35, thirty minutes until she'd head to his house.
Kory shuffled through the bar with a worried expression on her face. Bargoers watched as she zoomed past, wondering what's got the girl who worked up. The bartender was cleaning a wet glass when Kory approached the bar. Her body was shaking, her eyes wide and full of fear, he could see that much. "He's out back," He averted his eyes back to the glass while Kory walked over towards the back door. Her steps got slower as she searched the room and noticed Xavier huddled in a back corner. Kory took in his features, one of his eyes was swollen shut, and the other eye had a cut under it, while his jaw was decorated with bruises that had turned different colors. A gasp escaped her mouth, prompting Xavier to pop his head up.
He noticed the expression on her face, then let out a small chuckle. She knew he was putting up a front, he didn't want anyone to see that he was hurting and scared. "It's okay cutie, I'm okay—"He stopped as Kory stepped closer and touched the bruise on his jaw, he hissed. "Who did this to you?" Xavier didn't answer her question, he knew that if he told her who did this. It would push her into a frenzy, and he didn't want that to happen. "I-I didn't see the guy, he was too fast," "Xavier," by the tone in her voice, he knew that she was wanting the truth.
"It's him…he's here," Her fists clenched in fear, eyes distant, fear rising from her. "H-He can't be," Xavier nodded "I saw his eyes, can't forget them," She swallowed. "I-I have to get out of here," She started to get up from her spot, but Xavier stopped her with a gentle hand. "I suggest you lay low for a while," "I know…means I must head to school, then straight home. Minimal contact from friends, keep my head down, and—" "—Absolutely, no Dick Grayson. If he asks questions, Kory, you must be careful. He can't know anything about this," She nodded. For her own friends' good, she couldn't talk to anyone more than she was supposed to.
"Wally, this is a stupid idea," Dick stood with Wally outside a hipster cafe where most of the girls at his school hung out. He pouted in front of the driver's seat while Wally scoped around for the perfect candidate. "Why not just have me walk around with a sign that says desperately for a new fling?" "Thought about it, Vic talked me out of it," Dick shoved his shades closer to his face. To be completely honest, all the girls that they had seen for "potential" never compared to her. Down to her curly, red mane of hair, and caramel skin, they didn't match. How the hell was someone as sweet and vivacious as Kory dating someone like Xavier? It didn't make any sense. Xavier always talked about the chick he banged the night before in the locker room.
Usually, they were cheerleaders from another school or biker chicks that hung around the wrong crowds. He was sneaky, rude, and cocky as hell, what was so attractive about him? "What about her?" Wally pointed to a red-headed girl. She was talking to another girl with a coffee in her hand. The girl had brown eyes, pale skin, freckles everywhere, and legs that could kill. She was pretty, he'll give her that, but she wasn't her. "She's cute, I guess" "Cute, she's hot! Also, just your type. Seems like she's an athlete, those legs…whew!" Dick rolled his eyes "Wally, it's just homecoming—-" "—We all know that this is a chance for you to move on from Kory. Now that she's dating Xavier," Dick's fist clenched around the wheel. He needed to punch something. "Come on, you're Dick Grayson. She can't say no, let's talk to her," before Dick could object, Wally pushed him out of the car. Dick grunted as they walked towards the girl in the cafe.
"Alright, Dicky boy. This is your chance, put on the charm," He ruffled his hair and shoved him in the girl's direction. Maybe Wally was right, he needed to get over this Kory and Xavier nonsense. Maybe the only way to do that was to find another girl to pay attention to. He tapped on the girl's shoulder; she turned around and gasped at Dick's presence. "Oh my god," She smiled, her friend behind her had wide eyes. "Uh, hi my name—""—Dick Grayson! I know who you are" Oh boy. "Yeah, what's your name?" "Cathy," Cathy smiled wider. Dick took in more of her features, she had doe-like eyes, a small nose, and plush, pink lips. "Could I buy you a scone or croissant?" Cathy nodded eagerly as Dick escorted her over to a table. Here goes nothing.
The Hive: It appears that our beloved boy wonder is ready to move on...or play games. I could never tell behind those thousand dollar frames. Another question that peaks in my mind, is what New Girl has to say about it?
Vic knocked on the car door and it unlocked. He hopped inside to see Xavier in the driver's seat. "Well, well, well. I didn't think you'd finish the stash that quick. Looking to buy more?" "I still have the stash Xavier—-what happened to your face?" Xavier held a hand to his face and cocked a smile. "Got into it with a former client, he didn't pay full price," "Seems like he got a couple of good licks in," "You should see him," Vic studied the bruises on his face, he couldn't tell if he was lying or telling the truth. He shook his head; Xavier's life wasn't what he wanted to know about. The thought of Kory and Dick was on his mind. "So…Kory Anders huh?" He chuckled. "Yep, she's hot," "Yeah, I remember the last time that we talked that you asked about her," He was silent, and bingo.
Xavier pursed his lips "What do you want, Stone?" "Nothing, I'm just trying to help—" "—You mean, you want to know everything so you can figure out how to tell your boy. He's such a pansy" "All I'm saying is Kory told us that she and her boyfriend were together for months. You asked about Kory a couple of days ago. Both aren't making sense—" "—Kory and I didn't want people to know about us. Including my clients, we decided to keep it on the down low-wait, why am I telling you this? You're my client, not my friend," "I'm looking out for my friends," Xavier unlocked the car door.
"If Grayson's got a problem with it, have his ass talk to me. Leave Kory out of this," He pressed his hand against the door handle and opened the car door, then nodded his head to the outside. "Now, if you aren't here to buy anything. It's best if you leave," Vic glances at the door, then at Xavier. Xavier shrugs his shoulders and scoffs. "All I know is…if something stinks around here," Vic exits the vehicle, Xavier closes the door shut and drives away. Something wasn't right about that conversation, Xavier was very short with him, shorter than usual. He couldn't wrap his head around the relationship, he knew Xavier was an excellent liar. Although even he had to have some holes in his story. There was another person he could ask, but she'd never speak to him, especially about Xavier. That didn't mean he couldn't try, right?
Kory closed the door to her apartment, but no one followed her, which was a good sign. "Kory, is that you?" She heard her uncle call from the kitchen. "Yes Uncle, it's me!" "Oh good, one of your friends decided to stop by! He's in here with me!" Kory's heart sank. How the hell did he find her so quickly? How did he find out where she lived? Why wasn't her uncle calling for help? Kory stuck a key in between her fingers and stalked towards the kitchen.
As she got closer, she could see a shiny, bald head. Vic. "Vic? What are you doing here?" He was currently nose deep in her uncle's pasta dish. "He seems to enjoy my Chicken Carbonara," "Delicious!" He smiled as he wiped the contents from his face. "Kory, we have that project to work on. Remember?" He quirked an eyebrow at her. "Oh, right. My mistake," Vic grabbed his backpack and shrugged it on his shoulders. "We can head up to my room, you don't mind, right Uncle?" He placed a plate of Carbonara in the microwave. "Not at all, let me know if you need any assistance," Kory nodded as they headed up the stairs. Her stomach twisted each step of the way.
She closed the door shut as Vic walked in and took in her room. "Nice digs," "What are you really doing here, Vic?" She'd rather get to the point and keep Vic at a distance before someone else got hurt. He didn't need to be the next victim. "Xavier, huh?" That's what this visit was about? Xavier. Her heart leaped at the image of Dick in her head. "Yeah, it's been a while," "So I've heard. How many months has it been?" Kory swallowed. She could sense what he was doing, poking holes in her story, for the sake of Dick. "Why do you want to know?" She folded her arms. Vic shook his head and placed his backpack down on the ground. "He's broken up about it, Kory. Not that he would ever tell you…I've never seen him act this way," Her heart jumped, she couldn't admit anything. It was for everyone's own good if they didn't get tangled up with her. "He'll get over it" The words that slipped out of her mouth, shocked her and Vic both.
Did she really just say that? "I don't know, Dick never shows his emotions. Kind of like Bruce—" She bit her tongue. "Anyways, I wanted to know how you and Xavier met. Details, girl!" He pretended to sound like Bee, which made her crack a smile. "Vic, I told you. We met a while ago, and we had a small conversation, then it led to something more," "Was he okay with you and Dick hanging out?" She nodded, and Vic rubbed the back of his head. Xavier doesn't seem like he'd let anyone he was dating hang around another guy, even if it was Dick. Xavier and Dick had an unspoken rivalry. No one talked about it, but you knew that they always tried to one-up each other. Football practice, dating, dancing, etc. Now that Xavier's dating someone that Dick's got his eye on, he wonders what Dick will do next. "What do you like about Xavier?" Kory was stunned for words, she blinked, then shook her head.
"I'm sorry?" Bingo. "Come on since you guys are dating. I wanted to know what you like about him?" "His hair and eyes, they are—nice," "That's it?" She smiles, though it doesn't reach her eyes. "Another lie," He thought to himself. At least when someone asks him about Bee, he can list off the many things he likes about her. Her wit, charm, ambitious nature, the list could go on, but then he'd be completely locked out of this conversation with Kory. "Listen, Vic. I know you're doing this for Dick's benefit, but it's fine. Dick will be okay and so will I," It sounds as though she was trying to reassure herself more than she was him. "Is that all you stopped by for?" "Your uncle's cooking was a plus," He grinned at her.
Kory playfully rolled her eyes "I'll make sure he packs up some leftovers for you," "Thanks little lady," "Of course," Silence. Kory's eyes averted to her phone on her bed, the screen was black. Something about her was off lately, it wasn't just the Xavier thing. Her aura was very quiet and reserved as if she wanted to blend into the walls around her. "Kory, you know if something is going on. You could tell me right?" "If it's about Xavier again—" "—I meant if anything is bothering you. Friends help friends out, I won't tell the others if you don't want me too," She opened her mouth as if she was about to say something, but stopped when her phone began to buzz. Bzzz. Bzzz. Kory quickly walked over to her device and checked the screen, her body paled. "Kory, what's wrong—"Before he could finish, his phone buzzed as well next to him. He glanced at the screen and saw a blast from The Hive.
The Hive: My, oh, my. What do I spy? Another hot new couple on the rise? Dick Grayson has found another apple in his eye. Word on the street is that they're going to Homecoming together. Sorry ladies, this boy wonder is taken…and not by who you think. Guess that spark with the new girl fizzled out. Although, she's got another shoulder to cry on…her dear boyfriend, Xavier. Love's in the air and hearts are racing…ooh la la.
Vic gazed up at Kory, her face was stoic. It didn't crack a smile or a frown, it was neutral. "Hey listen—" "—I should really get to work on my assignments. Is there anything else you needed?" She didn't look his way, instead, her eyes lay on the window near her bed. Vic stood up from his seat and started to walk towards her but stopped himself. "Kory-" "—I'll see you in class, Vic," He got the message. Vic nodded in understanding and left out the door. As he closed it behind him, tears fell from Kory's eyes. She wiped them away as quickly as they came.
"I happen to be a gymnast myself, I don't do it often. However, when I'm on the rings, I get a thrill from it," "Me too! Someday I'd hope I get into the Olympics," Cathy smiled and sipped on her Caramel Macchiato. Cathy had checked off his list of a potential long dater—a girl he'd date for a long time without the label of bf and gf. She had a great smile, a nice rack, a cute laugh, adored him, great conversation, and nice vibes. An image of Kory passed through his mind, and his smile twitched. There she goes again, always on his mind.
Stupid smile, stupid, cute eyes, he couldn't take it anymore. Kory Anders, prepare to be forgotten. "So, I was wondering…if you'd like to accompany me to the Homecoming Dance?" Cathy's eyes widened, and she nodded furiously. "I'd love to!" She stopped herself, then twisted her lips. "Wait, this isn't some lame attempt at making the new girl jealous, is it? I know you guys have some kind of weird thing going on," Dick chuckled, then placed a gentle hand on hers. "Please, she's no one important. That train has passed, I've got my eye on someone else," He put on a charming smile, and Cathy giggled. If Kory Anders didn't care about him, then he damn sure wasn't going to care about her.
Rachel knocked on the door to the apartment. He lived in a small, expensive complex, one with a doorman, and a call box. Rachel wasn't the least bit surprised at that, Gotham Academy paid their teachers handsomely well. Who was she to judge for their educators enjoying the perks? The walls were painted fresh, with not a speck of dirt in sight. Expensive paintings of abstract art hung from the walls and outside of each door was a mailbox, under it a doorbell. Even the outside of the apartments looked nice as hell compared to her dump of a house. The door opens, and out comes the smell of freshly baked bread and Mr. Malchoir in an apron that read "cookbooks are books too".
"Rachel, ready for our study session?" His tender voice had an edge to it. She knew what that meant, and boy was ready for what was to come. "Yes Mr. Malchoir I am," He opened the door further for her, and she stepped in. He closes it behind him. Rachel takes in the apartment before her, even his apartment exudes charm. There were two bookshelves near the window filled with modern and classic tales. Under the window lay a computer desk, there was a small, school-loaned laptop, and next to it was an ancient typewriter, with a sheet of paper attached to it. In the middle of the room sat an antique couch that you'd see in a classic movie where they'd used title cards as their dialogue. In front of the couch was a projector screen and a projector on a table, movies stacked beneath to keep it steady. It was like a dream that she never wanted to wake up from, he was so perfect.
"May I take your cardigan?" That killed the dream, and she shook her head. "I-I get chilly easily," he couldn't see the bruises on her arms, he'd ask questions, and then it'd get tricky to get out of. "I can turn on the heater" "It's fine, you shouldn't have to accommodate me—"He pressed a finger to her lips, then looks deep into her eyes. "Rachel, do you want me to turn on the heater?" She shakes her head; his gray eyes were so dreamy to get lost in. He gives her a kiss on the forehead. "Okay, let me know. I promise it's not a problem," Rachel nods. He removed his hands from her and headed towards the kitchen, Rachel follows him. His kitchen was a bit bigger compared to his living room. The cabinets were made of oak, and a stainless-steel fridge was laid in between the oven and dishwasher. In the middle was an island with a bowl of fresh fruit, fruit never looked that fresh at her house. Mr. Malchoir cracks open the oven and takes out a loaf of bread, he pulls off the oven-mitts with his perfect, white teeth. "Bread will be ready in a bit; it has to cool down.
In the meantime, can I get you a beverage?" "Water would be great," She's at a loss for words at how hot he looks in the apron right now. He smiles at her, then opened the fridge and hands her a bottle of water. She glances at the table, Voss. Expensive shit. "We could sit on the couch and watch a movie?" "Only if it's not anything funny. I hate Will Ferrell" He chuckles. "Of course not, how about a thriller?" Now he's talking, and she smiles. He walks over to the couch, then pats the seat next to him. It was very close to him, holy crap! Rachel strolled over to him and took her seat, so close that she could smell his cologne. He scrolled through the apps on the screen before selecting one and putting a random movie on the screen.
The movie began to play, Mr. Malchoir places an arm around her and pulls her close. Her heart was racing like crazy; he had done nothing else, and she had to be brought back to life from going into shock. "Are you okay?" He stared down at her, and there were those eyes again. Rachel glanced down at his lips, the lips she made out with a couple of days ago. "Fine," She couldn't speak, her eyes kept rotating back to her lips. He smiled and pressed his lips to hers; they were warm. He pulls them back and gives her a wink. "Better?" Rachel glanced at his lips once more, before shaking her head. "Not even close," she grabs a hold of his face before pushing it towards hers where their lips met in between.
"Aww dude looks like you're on The Hive's front page, I knew they couldn't stay away," "Har-har. Let me guess, someone took a photo of me and Cathy, then sent it to them?" "Bingo, everyone's talking about it on Twitter. You've already got a ship name…Cack—" "—Sound's like someone threw up," They chuckled. Wally read over his screen again "I wonder who else saw it?" An image of Kory flashed through his mind; he shook his head as he continued to drive. "So, Cathy's a good candidate?" "Great candidate, we hit it off, she's even gonna be at the homecoming game!"
"Alright, score five-hundred and fifty for boss man," Wally and Dick high-fived. Dick's cell phone rang as Dick continued to drive, he glanced at the dashboard and saw Vic's name pop up. He pressed the answer button, and it picks up. "Hey, Vic," "Vic! My man, you missed out on some great action from Dick. I'd say he's back in the game," Dick rolled his eyes under the shade as he continued to drive. "Yeah, sounds great. Are you guys heading to Dick's?" "I'm gonna drop off Wally first, then head home. What's up?" "I need to talk to you. Can we meet at my place?" Dick and Wally shared a look, Vic sounded serious. "Uh sure, see you in a sec," Dick pressed the end call button, then turned a corner and headed for Vic's.
Vic paced back and forth in his room as he waited for Dick and Wally to arrive. He averts his eyes to the paper bag on his deck, and Vic shoves it into a desk drawer. He heard the doorbell ring and his dad's footsteps approaching the door. "Hey, boys! He's in his room, although you can't stay long. Vic's got to study and practice for the big game," "Thanks Mr. Stone," He heard Dick state. In a couple of moments, Dick and Wally come through the room. "Alright, what's up?" He nodded towards his desk chair and bed; this must be serious if they had to sit down for it. Dick and Wally take their seats, Vic lets out a breath, then glances at Dick. "I think Kory and Xavier are lying," He shut his eyes, waiting for Dick to say something. Wally gazes over at Dick with an eyebrow raised. "Is that all?" Dick asks. "Dick, you don't understand. I talked to them and—""—And what? I don't care about them, and neither should you,"
"But Dick, I think something is going on. Bigger than Kory and Xavier—""—What gives you the right to talk to them? I didn't ask for your help! Kory Anders is the furthest person from my mind," Lie. Vic stepped back, hurt written all over his face. "I know you're mad at her, but if we find out what's going on. Then maybe you could—""—What? Talk to her, ask her why, then what? Vic, I mean this with honesty," Dick pushes himself off the bed and steps up to Vic. Compared to Vic's height, Dick looked like an ant, more like a gnome. He was only 5'7 and still growing, unlike Vic who already stood at 6'3. "Leave it alone," with that Dick left the room. Wally watched as he stormed away and turned to Vic. "What? I thought he should know," "I know, but Vic. We both know that he's hurting right now, he can't deal with Kory drama. Even if we're all team Kory and Dick, it's not our decision. We must move on," Vic averted his gaze to the open door. Wally got up from his seat and headed towards the door. "Fine, if he wants to be an ass about it, then I guess I won't tell him what I found out!" Vic yelled the last of the words.
Wally laid a hand on Vic's shoulder and gave him a tap. "Give him time," He grinned up at him, then followed Dick. Vic grunted in frustration as he heard the door downstairs close. Maybe Wally was right, maybe there was nothing they could do except give Dick and Kory time. He glanced at his computer, then the drawer under it. Even if Dick said no, Kory was still his friend and if she was in trouble, he'd want to help her. Vic swallowed, then walked over towards the drawer. He cracks it open and plucks out the paper bag, then lets the contents spill out. A small bag of coke, courtesy of Xavier. Vic unravels the bag, makes a folded sheet of paper, and divvies it up. He takes a small sniff, then another. His pupils get smaller as the coke runs through his veins. Vic opens his laptop, then begins to type in Kory's name.
The Hive: Oh boy, what's our knight and shining armor up to? No good, that's what. Didn't anyone tell him that you shouldn't open up a can of worms. Especially when that can has been sealed shut and stored away for no one to grab. Wonder what he'll find and what he's to do with that information.
Rachel placed her hands on Mr. Malchoir's chest and stopped kissing him. He removes his hands from around her waist "Is everything alright, Rachel?" His lips were close to hers, she wished they could continue, but it was getting late. Her father would be suspicious if she wasn't at the club soon. After Rachel came back from her marvelous trip, he told her that a couple of clients were waiting to meet with her. She couldn't stay no, but now that she's involved with Mr. Maclhoir, things may get tricky. "Yes, I should get home. My dad's expecting me— "
"—I could drop you off—" "—I don't think it'd be a good idea if you did. Someone saw me come out of your car, it's bound to spread all over The Hive," "Okay, shall we see each other tomorrow? Same time, same place?" Rachel kisses his cheek and nods. "Yeah, we could discuss Mark Twain tomorrow," "It's a date," He kisses her forehead, then escorts her to the door. "Rachel, I meant to tell you. When we're off school grounds, you can call me by my real name. Rorek," She blushed, such a cool name for a cool person. How did she get so lucky? "I'd like that, Rorek," Mr. Malchoir bent down and kissed her again. Rachel placed her hands on his cheeks as she let the kiss linger.
Kory stared up at the ceiling, her eyes were red, and her cheeks were puffy. She had been crying for who knows how long. She had to figure out a way to escape this madness and there was only one way to do it. Kory had to confess to everything that she was tied to the murder, gang affiliation, and underage drinking. If she did this, her reputation as the quiet new girl and Tamaran's princess would be demolished.
Still, at least she'd be free from it all. Kory wanted to tell one person first before she told the rest of the world. Kory hopped off the bed, then grabbed her keys off the desk, and headed out the door. "Uncle Galfore! I'll be back, I must run an errand!" Kory started as she trotted down the stairs. Her uncle was watching television on the couch when he noticed her walking towards the entrance "At this time of night?" "Yes, it's for school! I'll be back!" With that, she left out the front door and down the stairs. At the end of the stairs was a person in a black hoodie with the symbol of a beast on the front. Her heart sank, she knew that symbol from anywhere. He had found her and there was nowhere for her to run. A single tear fell from her face and unto the ground, Kory sucked in a harsh breath. "Hey there, babe. You miss me?" His green eyes shone under the streetlight, yet there was little life to them.
The Hive: Kory's past came for a visit and she's not happy about it. How will our poor new girl get out of this one? Turns out her previous methods didn't exactly work in her favor.
