Chapter two.

While I've attempted to keep the timeline of battles and events significant to World War twos history I will be adding some extra historical fiction. It is fanfiction with characters portraying real people.

The characters are not based on any real people living or dead.

Nurses were know as bluebirds

Marines were the ones who stormed the land

Navy and Naval officers battled on sea

Airforce workers and base staff were grand

The women stayed on groumd

While the men took to the skies

C force in 1941 was Canadas defense.

While others left earlier through tearful goodbyes.

Sent to help the veterans of combat throughout Asia passing the China sea

Young, not even 17 were some but they were fearless they were we, theyd chant

While others faught in Singapore which seemed a losing battle.

The first group of men heard onto a ship two by two like cattle.

December 1940. Uncertain times ahead

Tyler had been directed to the Singapore Guards. Where his Brothers feet had tread.

Geoff would follow and be at his side.

No time for stubbornness we don't fight for pride. We fight for our loved ones, our Mothers and our Brides

We fight for our Country

Oh Canada.

In my heart is where you reside

Tylers letters., the first are sent to fight.

Kissing with intensity and passion, Bridgette wrapped her arms around her marine, a strong yet loving Man. Her Husband Geoff. "We've been married 2 years, We need more that that baby" she cried through her kisses. Geoff reciprocated with kisses and a large grip around his Wife's delicate waist and tried to reassure her that he would be very much returning home. Bridgette then wiped her eyes and felt her stomach tighten with fear.

Not only was Bridgette bidding farewell to the man she loved more than any other living being in the world, she wouldn't receive notice of where she was to be nursing within the next few days.

Lindsay was hugging Tyler in his green uniform with fitted hat plus a tin one for combat which his wife was terrified of.

"My brave Husband, in combat" she cried.

Her polka dot red dress and thick red heels with stockings. Her long blonde hair was curled and shone in the sun.

"Remember me baby"Tyler said with a quivering smile. "My Lavender, I'll be back I promise"

Lindsay held Tyler tightly and wept.

'I'll never forget you" she cried. "Please come back" "I'll pray everyday you do "

"our first Christmas apart" sge cried

"Ill write" Tyler replied, giving Lindsay one last kiss that they wish would last forever.

Geoff waved from the boat as did Tyler.

Tyker wrote on a white sheet in large letters

"Next Christmas" he held it up so Lindsay could see.

Her face lit up as did her smile.

Weeping women carried handkerchiefs and single stem roses to send them off. Tears were echoed throughout the port. "Would their lovely soldier return?

Laying in a cramped quarters with a silver canister and tin hat, Tyler stuck two of his Lavender signed pin up post cards on the wall by his makeshift bed. Geoff was on the cramped bunk above with a photograph of him and Bridgette. She wore her blue and white nurses uniform so proudly. He loved her so much.

"Private Uh Kennedy?" Someone yelled.

"It's Kennard" Tyler replied, writing on some paper.

"You were in the Alberta Daily Times"

The tall guy with red hair and freckles handed him a cut out of Tyler in a tuxedo holding his Lavender Lindsay in her bride gown.

"Yeah that's me"

The redhead who looked no older than 17 knelt beside him and smiled

"How did you hook yourself a knockout like that?" He asked.

Tyler grinned and gazed over at the pictures on his wall then handed the soldier one of Lindsay in pink with a note on the back.

"Wow" "You son of a gun"

Geoff laughed. "He sure is" "Im happy though" the blonde rested and sighed.

"Names Scott well Len Private Len" "friends call me big red"

Tyler shook his hand. "Hey red"

Scott shook his hand and then went on to explain in detail how he would mutilate any foreign enemy who dared come near him or his men.

"I think you'll find they're my men" A dark voice snarled.

Sgt McClean entered the quarters and everyone stood to attention.

He observed the new recruits heading for Singapore.

"This isn't a game" "Men die, women die and over there children die" "That's the enemy we are fighting" "understood?"

"Sir yes Sir" they all resounded.

Mclean starred at Tyler and then noticed the pictures in his tiny living space.

He leaned over and picked one up

"Lavender Lindsay" he grinned. "Quite the Canadian bombshell ain't she?" He said staring at the blonde in her one piece suit.

He then placed the photo in his pocket.

"I'm going to keep hold of this" he grinned selfishly.

Tyler was mad but held his tongue

"You may be her Husband but, her pictures are not married are they?" He then turned and walked away.

Tyler was livid and wanted to pounce on that sleazy entitled dirtbag but he would be court marshalled for even attempting to think of it

Scott told him not to let it bother him.

"You're her Husband, you're coming back to her"

Geoff agreed. "Yeah exactly " "You're the person she is married to."

Little did anybody know only one of those three would return...

Would Tyler survive this or would He and Geoff be stuck in Singapore survival once the Imperial Army takes over?

I added the story of Tyler, Geoff and Scott heading to Singapore Early so there was still time for the characters to either escape and fight with a different devision in Europe before Japan took dominion of Singapores port and Airfield. There were also those few families in Singapore that left before the invasion by car, truck, train then ship.

Flight was far to dangerous as the sky anove was ablaze with combat Spitfires and Kamakaze planes. One or two wounded soldiers made it out of Singapore alive before 1942 when it was outnumbered and mowed down by the Imperial Army. So Chapter three is in parts Part 1 is Tyler and Lindsay Part Two Bridgette and Geoff with Gwens story intertwined.

Chapter four Courtney Geoff and Scott
