(This and the following chapters take place a bit before Lily is born)

I do NOT own The Loud House

Chapter 1

It was a gorgeous, sunny summer morning in the charming town of Royal Woods, Michigan., Many families might choose to sleep in or take it easy and let their worries drift away like a river. However, for one family of 10 siblings, soon to be 11 residing at 1216 Franklin Avenue, the morning routine typically involved waiting in line for the bathroom and heading downstairs for breakfast. Now most people in Royal Woods knew that this was the Loud family, as they live up to their last names.

Lincoln was awakened by the blaring sound of his alarm clock. He groggily roused himself and turned it off, Glancing at the clock, Lincoln noted it was 7:32 He had to hope that his other siblings were not already in line for the bathroom, as being at the back of the line in the Loud house was not desirable. As Lincoln opened the door to the hallway, he noticed that Luna and Lola were already waiting in line, He walked out into the hallway and got behind Lola. Lincoln was too groggy to pay much attention to those that followed behind him, all that was on his mind was getting to the bathroom.

Lincoln finished doing his business in the bathroom and headed downstairs to the kitchen, where the delightful aroma of his father's eggs and bacon filled the air. As he entered the kitchen, he noticed that Lori, Luna, and Lola were already seated at the table. Lori was on her phone as usual, Luna had her headphones on, and Lola was just your average sleepy 5-year-old.

"Good morning, sport!" Lynn Sr greeted cheerfully. Lincoln mumbled something groggily and then took a seat beside Lola. Breakfast was a bit of a blur for Lincoln, but thankfully it was one of those rare days where nobody in the house had any pressing plans or events to attend. After finishing his breakfast, Lincoln made his way up the stairs and down the hallway to his and Lucas's bedroom to do his usual routine of reading comics in his underwear.

"Heads up Linc!" Someone shouted behind him.

Lincoln turned his head to see a football soaring towards him instinctively, he ducked just in time to avoid being hit by the fast-approaching football, hearing a thump a few seconds after ducking.

"C'mon, you were supposed to catch it!" Lynn exclaimed.

"I would have if you gave me more than 3 seconds to react!" Lincoln responded irritably. This was something that his sporty sister would do often, he never really understood why she was so obsessed with sports then again it seemed like everyone in the family had an obsession of sorts. Lori was always on her phone, Leni was a fashionista, Luna always played some type of instrument, Luan was a comedian, Lucy liked to write her poems, Lana was a mechanic, Lola started doing her pageants last year, and Lisa was always doing some kind of experiment.

"You probably wouldn't have caught it anyway."

Lincoln made a so-so motion with his hand before proceeding down the hallway to his bedroom. Lincoln opened the door to his bedroom and jumped onto his bed, throwing off his shirt and pants checking the time once again. 7:32. Lincoln blinked and then rubbed both his eyes. 7:32 it still read, he shrugged his shoulders "Probably just broken, I'll ask Lana or Dad to check it out later" He thought internally.

Lori sat on her bed in the room she shared with Leni, the second oldest sibling in the house. Lori was still dressed in her sleep attire as nobody had any plans and nobody wanted to go outside in the heat anyways, scrolling through Instagram posts out of pure boredom, As she kept scrolling through the posts she made note of one of the guys in her class...Bobby was his name, right? Lori chuckled a little at the photo of him and his younger sister at the beach, if she was being honest he was kind of cute, the way he smiled, how polite he was, his surprisingly toned muscles...Lori wanted to ask him out, but she didn't know how to, every time she talked to him she was always nervous around him. Scrolling down to another photo, the smile she didn't know she had quickly turned into a frown "Ugh...Carol" Lori sighed inwardly. Carol was Lori's "Nemesis", though it often seemed more of a one-sided rivalry between the two blondes. Lori put her phone down on the bed and lay back on her pillows, looking up at the ceiling.

"Wish I could have at least one day where I don't have to see her stupid smug smile and perfect teeth, Actually she's literally Miss Perfect, always one-upping me at everything. Golf, School, Homecoming...Life...she literally has a boyfriend and... siblings that like her.." Lori vented in her head. She felt her eyes start to water a little at that last part, she didn't like having to go commando-style on her siblings, if she didn't the house would burn down.

On the other side of the room, Leni, also dressed in her sleep attire(minus her sleeping mask) was going through her closet and looking through some of her clothes, the fashionista was trying to decide what color dress looked better on her Seafoam or Forest green.

"Seafoam looks pretty, but wait so does Forest Green, This is totes a hard choice! Leni felt a migraine begin to stir in her head from the tough decision, how could she decide they both looked great, maybe she needed... someone else's..."That's it!, I'll ask Lori what she thinks!" She turned and was about to ask Lori her opinion but noticed the troubled look on her face. "You ok Lori?"She asked.

"Just Carol again," Lori responded dejectedly. Leni had to think for a second, she had a hard time remembering people's names, sometimes even her younger siblings. "You mean your twin, what about her?"

"She's not my twin Leni, and it's just...she's literally better than me at everything, it's like no matter how hard I try she's just one step ahead of me."

"Well even if she was better than you, there's one thing she could never beat you at." Leni walked over to Lori and sat next to her on the bed.

"And what's that?"

"Like being the best sister ever!" Leni responded cheerfully.

Lori looked up at Leni smiling "Thanks, you mean that?" "I totes do!" Leni gave Lori a hug with Lori returning the kind gesture. Lori knew that if she ever needed someone to talk to or vent to Leni would always be there for her.

"Oh by the way, which do you think would look better on me?" Leni held up both dresses for Lori to judge.

Lori looked back and forth at the two dresses, judging each part with great detail and after close inspection, she decided

"I'd go with seafoam, it matches your shoes and the color of your eyes."

"Ok, thanks Lori your the best!" Leni cheered.

Leni got up from Lori's bed, grabbed the seafoam dress, and left Lori alone in the room. Lori always had a special connection with Leni, don't get her wrong she loves the rest of her family to death, even if they get on her nerves all the time. Maybe it's because the two blondes lived in the same room their entire lives and shared very similar interests. Lori finally got up from her bed and decided to get out of her sleep attire and get into her normal clothes. She walked over to her dresser and changed into her normal clothes, she noted that she should maybe start wearing different clothes. Seriously though, she buys clothes at the mall all the time and yet she still wears a light blue tank top and cargo shorts almost every day. She decided not to dwell on the matter as an idea had popped into her mind. It was a perfect day to go to the mall.

Now in the living room of the Loud house, Luan sat on the couch watching some reruns of her favorite comedy show as she had a sort of "comedy block" for a while now. She couldn't think of any puns to make even in circumstances where a good old-fashioned pun would seem obvious, nada. Not like anyone here besides Dad laughs at them anyway she thought frowning a little. She could hear the twins upstairs bickering once more as they usually did. If Luan was being honest, she thought it was quite funny how the two would fight over the simplest of things, it also kind of reminded her of Lori and Leni and even herself and Luna at times. Seriously how many times has Luna caused the power to go out in the house when she "rocks out"?

"Hey." A monotone voice said to Luan causing her to flinch

"Oh hey, Lucy, how do you just show up out of nowhere all the time?" Luan asked.

"I just walk quietly."

"Riiightt." Luan said narrowing her eyes a little.

Under her bangs Lucy rolled her eyes, everyone seemed to just never see her coming, even if she wasn't trying to scare them. Sure it can be a little funny but after a while, it's just... annoying.

"I was wondering if you wanted to hear this poem I've been working on, normally I'd ask Lincoln but he said he needed his "daily nap".

"Sure uhm..." Once more she failed to think of a pun "Sure yeah hit me, not literally of course."

"Ok so in the realm of darkness, mysteries unfold, where secrets lie and stories untold. I haven't finished it yet but what do you think?"

Luan had her hand on her chin for a moment thinking before sharing her opinion "I like it, a little dark but it's pretty good so far. What gave you the inspiration?"

"My life."

"Mhm."

The two were interrupted by Lori and Leni coming down the stairs.

"Where you two heading?"

"The mall, why wanna come?"

Luan thought about it and decided to come along, she didn't have anything to do today anyway, so what better way to waste time than to browse for whatever at the mall?

"Eh sure why not, nothing better to do anyways, you feel like coming Luce?"

"No, I'd rather remain in solitude as usual." She replied monotonously before disappearing up the stairs.

"Ok well we're literally heading out now so let's go." Lori commanded.

The three made their way out the door and into Vanzilla, Luan was glad Dad had decided to give this thing to Lincoln when he was older, she sure didn't want this piece of junk. As she buckled, in she thought about what she even planned to do at the mall. Pulling out her phone she noted how early it still was.

"Lana give me that back!"

Hearing Lola and Lana bickering woke Lincoln from his nap, he sighed and forced himself out of bed, HE had to play peacemaker as usual, I mean come on he was only ten. Lincoln hated the fact that he always liked helping people, after all, It's all I'm good at. he opened up his door and stepped into the hallway before making his way to the twin's room and opening it.

The two twins were engaged in their classic wrestling match, Lana was on top of Lola smacking her face before being shoved off, with Lola getting back to her feet but before she could retaliate Lincoln intervened "Alright Alright what happened this time."

"Lana took my dolls and won't give them back!"

"Yeah because they don't want to be at some dumb tea party, they'd rather be my back scratcher!" She then started using one of the dolls as a back scratcher, Lola attempted to jump at her but Lincoln held her back.

"Calm down Lola, look Lana it's not nice to take things, especially for a petty reason like that." Lana began to feel bad and ashamed of herself. "Now say sorry to Lola."

"Sorry Lola, here's your doll's back."

Lola narrowed her eyes at Lana, she took the doll's back and responded with a "Hmpf!" She then went back to her tea party. Lincoln looked back and noticed Lana still looked downcast. "Hey Lana it's ok, everyone makes mistakes, you are only five after all." He knelt down to her level and hugged her. "I love you, Lana."

"I love you too Linky." After settling the twin's differences he felt that he wasn't going to be able to get back to his nap, so if the living room TV happened to be free... As he walked by Lisa's room, he noticed the door was ajar. Lisa was working on something, looking in he saw that whatever she was working on it was purple and bright. Waving it off as the usual Lisa shenanigans and made his way down the stairs and into the living room. Some comedy show was on, but nobody else seemed to be using the TV so he thought he might as well use it himself.

I know it's short, and in truth, I could probably write a lot more but I want this to be a small taste of what's to come and what this story is about. Well this is Danny and I'm signing off for the night/morning/midday/afternoon you get it.
