it's a nice sunny day in the east blue. the sun is shining. the birds are singing. everything is going peacefully.
on a island called dawn island. there lives a young boy, who'll change the world someday.
his name... monkey D Luffy.
as young 4 year old Luffy is in the forest walking. he is talking to himself out loud.
dumb old grandpa, thinking i should be a marine. i don't want to be a marine. i want to be free said Luffy. as he keeps on walking he then spots a chest on the ground.
Luffy knees down and picks up a rock, and starts smashing the lock off hard. after breaking the lock off, he opens the chest...
only to find a strange looking fruit and a book inside. confused, Luffy picks the book up and begins to read if it talks about the fruit.
to his surprise it does. it's called a devil fruit. whoever eats one gains a power... but loses the ability to swim forever.
this devil fruit, is called the hard hard fruit. a paramecia type that grants the user limitless invincibility. with this fruit, the users body is harden forever, and can generate heat as much as possible.
after reading the book, Luffy's eyes turned into stars. cool. with this devil fruit. i can be hard forever. (that's what he said lol). with this devil fruit... i can no longer feel pain said Luffy.
just like that he ate the hard hard fruit, ignoring the bad taste and became invincible. goodbye grandpa's fists of love. hello no pain said Luffy smiling like a loon. just like that, he went back to his grandfather's camp site.
[at Garp's camp]
as Garp was making Lunce for himself and Luffy. he sensed his grandson was closing in.
grandpa, you won't believe what i found said Luffy excited. surprise me said Garp. i was in the forest that you sent me to, then i found a chest and saw a book with a strange fruit inside, only it was a devil fruit called the hard hard fruit said Luffy. you didn't eat it did you? asked Garp hoping he didn't.
i did, and now i have limitless invincibility said Luffy smiling. so in other words... you won't feel pain, let alone my fist of love, huh? asked Garp getting up and began walking to his grandson.
yep said Luffy grinning. just like that Garp hit Luffy on the head and made a bump apar. still think so brat? asked Garp.
owww!. but, how? asked Luffy confused. i think it's time to explain somethings to ya Luffy. come now, have a set on grandpa's lap said Garp.
just like that Luffy did as told. let me tell you a story. a story, about haki said Garp.
just like that Garp told Luffy all about haki.
[3 years later]
ever since that time Garp told Luffy about haki, Luffy wanted to know how to use it. but Garp said that he was not ready for haki. so Luffy had to learn it by himself.
as time went on a crew of pirates known as the red haired pirates came to dawn island and became friends with the people on it.
as time went on Luffy and the captain, "red hair" Shanks became best friends.
[Makino's bar]
as the red haired pirates party'd away to their hearts content. Shanks was hanging with Luffy.
come on Shanks, teach me? asked Luffy to Shanks. never going to happen Luffy said Shanks with a calm smile.
but if i don't learn haki, how will i be a strong pirate like you someday? asked Luffy. like Garp said, you have to learn it yourself Luffy said Shanks.
but it's hard said Luffy. (that's what she said lol). i'm sorry Luffy, but i can't. here have some milk, it'll cool ya down said Shanks giving Luffy some milk.
thanks said Luffy drinking the milk away. your young Luffy. you should wait until your ready to be a pirate. only then will you know the true meaning of pirating said Shanks with a calm smile.
when i'm old enough, i'll form my own crew and be a great pirate like you lot. i might find some big treasure said Luffy.
if you happen to land on my home island, how about recruiting my boy Usopp, huh? asked Yasopp. i'll think about said Luffy.
as the crew keeps on partying, an unwelcome party of people show up.
they were bandits. good day sir, how can i help you today? asked Makino.
we'd like 10 barrels of alcohol said the bandit leader. i'm sorry sir, but we've just ran out said Makino.
that's our bad, looks like we drank the place dry. don't worry, this is still unopened. here ya go said Shanks giving the bandit leader the last bottle of alcohol.
just like that the bandit leader punched the bottle and smashed it. who the hell ya think your talking to pirate?. i'm Higuma "the bear". i've got a bounty of 8,000,000 barrie's on my head. ya know why? asked Higuma in a mad tone.
no, but i take it your going to tell me said Shanks. it's because i killed 25 people, who were weaklings. like you and your weak crew said Higuma.
Shanks didn't show it, but he was getting annoyed. let's get out of here men. no need to stay here said Higuma before he and his men left the bar.
finally, some peace of mind said Shanks after the bandits left. everything was silent...
until the whole crew started laughing away. did you see the angry face he was making at you captain? laughed Lucky Roo. what an idiot, it's as if he never heard of us laughed Yasopp.
i don't get it. what's so funny about getting picked on? asked Luffy confused. it's because he thinks he's better then me, that's what's funny Luffy laughed Shanks.
but he made you look weak Shanks said Luffy. not all fights are needed Luffy. besides, the guy was the real weakling, not me said Shanks. how weak is he? asked Luffy.
he was so weak, all i need is one punch on him. and he's out said Shanks. oh, i see now. sisisi, that's funny laughed Luffy.
just like that the group got back to partying.
[a few weeks later]
as Luffy and Makino were hanging out. the bandits from before came back.
no pirates huh?. good, it smells better now said Higuma. just like that the bandits were having some fun until one of them grabbed Makino by the arm.
hey girly, how about you show us a good time? said a drunk bandit member.
just like that the drunk bandit gets hit on the head by a flying cup. the one throwing cups was none other, then Luffy.
leave her alone ya dumb drunk! yelled Luffy. Luffy! said Makino in shock. you little shit!, you'll pay for that! yelled the drunk bandit before getting up and walking to Luffy drunkenly.
Luffy just stands there not fearing the drunk bandit walking to him. the bandit was close enough to Luffy. he looks at Luffy.
just like that the drunk bandit back hands Luffy with his left fist. Luffy looking like he didn't just get hit just looks at the drunk bandit like nothing happened.
the drunk bandit see's this, and begins punching away at Luffy's face. no!, stop! screamed Makino in fear. just like that one of them grabbed her and made her watch.
as the drunk bandit keeps on punching at Luffy's face, he starts to slow down. he was losing energy, and was starting to be out of breath.
he stopped. he was out of breath now, and panting. Luffy see's this and smiles wide. my turn said Luffy.
just like that Luffy punched the drunk bandit in the face, and sent him flying a few feet. he was down for the count.
seeing this the bandits were in shock from seeing that happen. he just punched frank!. that guy was a great puncher, how'd he beat frank like that? asked bandit 1.
get him boys ordered Higuma to his men. just like that the whole bandit gang, even the one holding Makino was in on it.
the bandits kicked Luffy outside the bar. they then started punching and kicking Luffy. after they stopped they went back to their boss.
had fun boys? asked Higuma smiling. he's not screaming boss. it's as if he can't feel pain of something said bandit 2.
just like that, they saw Luffy get up from the ground. he patted himself off and looked at them like he was ok.
Higuma, feeling pissed off now. ordered one of his men to shot the kid in the head.
as the bandit pulled out his gun, he walked up to Luffy and pointed the barrel of the gun at Luffy's forehead.
night night kid said the bandit smiling...
*BANG*!.
just like that a gun went off... only it wasn't the bandits gun.
instead the bandit feel to the ground with a hole in his head. confused the bandits looked around, until they found the shooter.
it was Yasopp, sniper of the red haired pirates. miss us bandits? asked Shanks smiling calmly.
you bastureds!. you dare challenge us?!. you got a death wish?! yelled Higuma in raged by this.
Luffy. you ok? asked Shanks. yeah, you were right. they really are weak, sisisi laughed Luffy.
you dare... call me... weak! yelled Higuma in rage. what's it to ya bandits? asked vice captain Benn.
KILL THEM! ordered Higuma. just like that the bandits ran at the red haired pirates.
allow us captain said Benn smoking. can't let ya get your hands bloody said Yasopp getting his guns ready. not yet anyways said Lucky Roo eating a piece of ham.
as the bandits got closer, the members of Shanks crew showed themselves.
allow me to intrduce myself. i'm Benn beckman. vice captain of the red haired pirates said Ben before he hit 7 bandits with his rifle in one single swing.
names Yasopp. sniper of the red haired pirates. and one hell of a shot said Yasopp as he's shooting away at the bandits.
ahhhh!. what's with this fat guy?! screamed bandit 1. he's to strong! yelled bandit 2.
and i'm Lucky Roo. cook, of the red haired pirates. i'm to much for y'all. i'm strong enough to go up against Jozu of the Whitebeard pirates with ease said Lucky Roo after taking down a few bandits and then taking a big bit out of his ham.
as for me... i'm captain "red hair" Shanks... and i'm a real pirate said Shanks with a smile.
after watching in horror, seeing his best men, getting taken down easily by pirates. he began to become fearful of them.
just like that Higuma saw Luffy, and had an idea. just like that Higuma had Luffy at knife point.
stay back!, or he'll get it! yelled Higuma. Shanks seeing this, just smiles. Luffy. light him up said Shanks. Luffy knew what he means by that.
just like that, he started heating up highly, and begun burning Higuma's rests.
AHHHHHHHHH! screamed Higuma in pain. he let Luffy go. after that Shanks walked to Higuma slowly.
w... who are you pirates? asked Higuma in fear. haven't ya been hearing us?... we're the red haired pirates said Shanks.
just like that, Shanks sucker punched Higuma in the face with his left fist. sending Higuma in the air.
as he then fill to the ground and was out cold. the red haired pirates laughed when they saw Higuma pissed his pants.
[later that day, at the docks]
it was becoming sun set, and the red haired pirates were getting ready to leave dawn island for good.
so, this is it then, huh Shanks? asked Luffy feeling sad.
it's been a long time coming, but yes. this is it said Shanks smiling.
i may not be learn haki yet. but grandpa can teach me a different skill set said Luffy. really?. what's that? asked Shanks smiling.
the Rokushiki skills said Luffy.
good to hear said Shanks. i've been thinking said Luffy. about what? asked Shanks.
if i'm going to be a pirate, i need a calling as one, right? asked Luffy.
yep said Shanks. then, i'll just have to find one piece, and become king of the pirates said Luffy smiling.
in that case, i give you this straw hat, as a token of our friendship said Shanks giving his straw hat to Luffy.
i'll never forget you Shanks said Luffy. i know, just like i'll never forget you Luffy said Shanks.
just like that, the two hugged. and the red haired pirates left and never came back.
this was the beginning of something great.
