Prompt: Can you do a fanfic where Sam reveals to Kensi everyone knows she and Deeks are together in 6x18. It kinda bugged me we never got to see the whole scene where she found out everyone knew so I was hoping you could fill in the blanks please.

"You expecting a call?" Sam asked, startling Kensi enough to make her jerk. "That's about the sixth time you checked your phone since we got in the car."

She shrugged, tucking her phone back into her pocket. "Not really. I just thought Eric and Nell might have an update," she explained easily.

"Uh-huh." Sam gave her a brief knowing look before he turned his attention back to the road ahead. "It's been a while since we were paired together," he added, changing the subject. Just like the good old days."

"Oh yeah, it was great being crammed into a nonexistent backseat." Kensi rolled her eyes, resisting the urge to check her phone yet again. After what happened this morning, with that woman taking pictures of them, she was worried. "I wonder why Hetty decided to split us up today of all days."

"Well, maybe I'm wrong but I assume it has something to do with you and Deeks being together," he suggested casually as he pulled up to their destination, taking the key out of the ignition.

"What?" Kensi said, forcing a laugh. "Come on. Me and Deeks?" She felt an unreasonable amount of dread run through her as the corner of Sam's mouth tugged up with a smirk.

"Yes, you and Deeks," he repeated, holding up a hand as Kensi started to protest again. "What, you really thought your teammates, who are trained agents and have worked with you for years wouldn't realize you guys are together?"

That was fair. Kensi sighed, rubbing her forehead.

"What gave us away?" she asked. They'd tried to be so careful to leave work separately at least some of the time and never leave together.

"Well, maybe it was something about the way you two kissed at the ice ring last Christmas, all the times you've answered each other's phones, the way you guys made a huge deal about not being together anytime someone brought it up—"

"Ok, ok. I get your point." Kensi held up her hand to interrupt, pressing her other one over her mouth. God, she felt so stupid. Of course everyone had realized.

"Hey." Sam nudged her shoulder until she looked at him. "You wanna know the biggest thing that we noticed?" He paused a beat and the smile returned, more gently this time before answering. "The way you two stopped dancing around each other all the time. There's less tension. Well, most of the time." He rolled his eyes pointedly. "You're not fighting against what you want anymore. You seem happy."

"We are," Kensi agreed softly. It was amazing how Sam had summed up the changes in her and Deeks' relationship. "So, what do you think about it? Us being together." That had been one of her biggest worries through all of this; aside from potentially getting split up, she'd feared the team's criticism and disapproval.

"I wasn't the biggest fan in the beginning," he started and Kensi's heart sank. "But now I've gotten used to the idea, and realized it hasn't changed who you are to the team. So, as long as being in a relationship doesn't affect your ability to function as agent and detective, I'm happy for you."

"Wow. Sam, I never thought I'd hear the day you'd be endorsing our relationship."

"Neither did I," Sam said dryly. "I mean it though; I want you and Deeks to be happy."

"I appreciate that. We both appreciate it," Kensi told him and he nodded.

"You're welcome." He reached to open his door, and then turned back to add, "Eric would like you to know that the burn room has cameras."
