Chapter 28
Lila Avenging Squad
William spread his cards on a table.
"I win again, Marc" William said with a smug smirk. Marc, though groaning, smiled at this.
"Again?", asked Marc. "How do you do it?".
"Luck favours the experienced", answered William. "So, in that sense, you keep practicing, you'll win eventually". Marinette, meanwhile, was watching from afar. Later that day, Marinette was in her room, going over some designs.
"What's the matter, Marinette?" Asked Tiki.
"It's William", answered Marinette. "Whenever he's around, things some how go in his favour. Maybe he's just lucky".
"You know", said Tiki. "He does have a point about experience improving your luck. After all, you beat every Akuma you've come across". Marinette only sighed as she looked at her sketches. That night, William watched people on the gambling floor. Some were winning, some were losing and some were getting dragged out because they were either drunk, sore losers or drunk sore losers.
"Hmph", he humphed to himself. "Another loser can't take the loss".
The next morning, William was waiting the classroom, fiddling with some playing cards. He saw that the other students were coming in, all talking to that bitch; Lila Rossi. She turned her head saw William, winking at him. He gave a growl before holding up two fingers. Lila knew that Marinette had William by her side. He was not gullible like the others, nor a coward like Adrian, he was an obstacle. One, that she would have to clear.
At lunch time, William was chowing down on his food, when he felt all the Intelligence get sucked out of the area. His eyes turned to left, and he saw Lila and Alya.
"What do you two want?" He asked, not even bothering to look at them anymore.
"Well, as you know", said Alya. "The end of term dance is coming up". William raised an eyebrow before swallowing the contents of his mouth.
"So?" Asked William.
"We were wondering if you could maybe", answered Lila. "You could convince your dad to rent out the auditorium for us". William just got up and walked away.
"Pass" he simply said.
"Come on", said Alya. "It'll be be perfect".
"Not interested" William said.
"But it's so roomy", said Lila. "Can't you just-".
"It's already booked", said William. "Aura was asking if her class could rent it out for the career expo. The previous renter canceled, so my dad allowed. Or to put it simply, first come, first serve. Maybe you could redecorate the inside of the school. Just hope it doesn't rain on that day". William then saw Aura walking towards him.
"Ah, speak of the devil", said William. "You got all the venders?".
"Got everything", said Aura. "Every position, every food stand and all that".
"Nice", said William. "Come by my dad's office and we'll discuss this in more detail. You free this evening?".
"I got nothing better to do" answered Aura.
"Great, come with me after school and we'll show these plans to my dad" said William. He and Aura then walked away. That evening, William was preparing for bed, when Scul came up to him.
"Did Aura really book the place for the expo?" Asked Scul.
"Yeah, they're just going over the details" answered William.
"You also want to keep them away, don't you?" Asked Scul.
"Wouldn't you?" Asked William.
"And you know she's not gonna give up, right?" Asked Scul.
"I'm counting on it" answered William.
The next morning, William was sitting in the classroom looking at his phone. Soon, students were coming into the classroom, with Madam Bustier soon following.
"Alright everyone", said Madam Bustier addressing the class. "I'm sure you're aware of the end of term dance coming up?". Several students agreed.
"Well, we still need a place to host it", said Madam Bustier. "Does anyone have any suggestions?". Lila immediately raised her hand.
"Yes Lila?" Asked Madam Bustier.
"What about the auditorium at the resort William's father owns?" Asked Lila.
"Are you trying to harangue me into this?", asked William. "I already you, the booking, is full. Aura took the last spot".
"Come on, William", said Madam Bustier. "Surely, you could-".
"I told you, no", interrupted William. "Unlike your class rep, I'm no pushover. No offence, Marinette".
"None taken" said Marinette.
"Anyway, allow me to make this as clear as I can", said William. "I am not, going to roll over and let this class ruin an official expo, because you guys don't like hearing the word 'no'. Now, are any other questions?". No one said anything.
"Good", said William. "And I DON'T want this brought up again". He then sat backdown. Lila sneered at this, hoping that no one was looking. But Max was. When the school day finished, William was about to head home. When….
"HEY!". William looked back to see Alya.
"What do you want?" William all but growled.
"It's about the party" answered Alya.
"You gotta be fucking kidding me", said William. "I told you, NO! You bring this up again, and it won't be just your mother who's out the job, so fuck off". He walked away, knuckles almost chalk white. He then got into his limo and drove off. Alya just stood there, Nino then walked up to her.
"Babe, what's wrong?" He asked.
"I think I know why my mom lost het job" said Alya.
The next day, William was in his room fiddling with his phone, when a knock came at the door.
"Come in" he said. The door opened to reveal Valerie.
"Is something the matter?" Asked William.
"There's someone here to see you" answered Valerie. William cocked an eyebrow at this. Valerie then lead him towards the entrance where he found Alya, Lila, Rose, Julika, Mylene and Alix waiting.
"What the hell do you want?" Asked William.
"Look, we REALLY need the Auditorium", said Alya. "Everywhere else is booked".
"How is this my problem?" Asked William.
"You could save the dance" answered Rose.
"Please stop talking, your voice is like nails on glass" said William. Lila then held up a piece of paper.
"You said we needed to pay to use the auditorium", said Lila. "We got the check right here". William saw this and he smirked. It wasn't a cheeky smirk, but one of deviousness and malice.
"Well then", said William. "I suppose we could something out. You said that Lila knew a famous Poker Player, right?".
"Yeah, she does" answered Mylene.
"Well, how about a bet?", asked William. "A game of Poker, me against Lila. You win, you get to use it. Lose, I get the money, you get nothing. Do we have a deal?". He then held out his hand, waiting for someone to shake it. Lila was in a bind. If she didn't except, her sheep would catch on. If she did, she would most definitely lose. She then shook his hand.
"Wise choice?", William asked. "Maybe not. Valerie, set up a table for us".
"As you wish" said Valerie before walking away. William's smirk never left his face.
"May the best player win" he said, trying not to laugh. Lila was now worried. Valerie had commandeered one of the Poker Tables. William was on one side, Lila was on the other.
"Take off your jacket", said William. "You ain't hiding cards in it". Lila begrudgingly did.
'There goes that idea' she thought. They each had 5 cards in their hand.
Lila then showed her hand. A 9 of hearts, a 9 of diamonds, a 9 of spades, a 9 of clubs and an ace of spades. She sat their smuggly.
"So", she said. "About that .tor. ". Lila was at a loss for words when William showed his hand.
"Royal flush beats 4 of a kind", said William. "I win".
"Th-th-that's not fair", said Lila. "I haven't played in-". William snapped his fingers.
"Take the check" said William. Valerie then took it from Alya's hands and gave it to William.
"That's not fair" said Rose.
"Oh, it's quite fair", said William. "I think I'll cash this in later on. AFTER, I tell Aura that you lost your dance money in a game of Poker". Alya then grabbed him.
"You little bastard", she yelled through gritted teeth. "You knew that Lila hadn't played in a while and-oof!". Alya was soon on the floor, William had kicked her in the stomach.
"Get them out of here, now" demanded William. Valerie nodded and called for security. The bouncers then came in and dragged them out. William just walked away, check in hand.
Lila and the others were soon thrown out of the entrance, quite literally.
"That Jerk" said Alix. Lila then ran off, attempting to put on the crocodile tears.
Hawkmoth's lair.
"The anger of unfairness objected towards them", said Hawkmoth. "And with the amount I sense, I bet it's more then one". He then infected a butterfly and sent it out.
"Fly away, my little Akuma", said Hawkmoth. "And evilise these emotional ones".
The Akuma eventually made it to Alya and the others. It them merged with her phone. The outlines of butterflies appeared on all of their faces.
"Lila Avenging Squad, I am Hawkmoth. You want to get revenge on those who dealt you an unfair hand and stole the jackpot from you. So, I am giving you the power to avenge your friend. But in return, I want you to bring me something in return, Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous".
"Lila will be avenged, Hawkmoth" said Alya and her friends before they were Akumatized.
In the resort, William was in his room, not having a care in the world.
"Hahahahaaaaaa, what losers", said William. "Maybe this will teach them that the house ALWAYS wins". Scul came up to him.
"THERE'S the malice I liked in ya, haha" said Scul. Their celebration was interrupted by the sounds of screaming and smashing.
"What the hell?" William wondered. He walked to the balcony of the main entrance and saw the Akuma's; Lady Wi-Fi, Princess Fragrance, Timebreaker, Horrificator and Reflekta.
"Okay~, what am I looking at?" William wondered. They Akuma's eyes then fell on him.
"THERE HE IS!" Shouted Lady Wi-Fi.
"Oh shit" said William before he ran off. The staff were trying to get the people out of the way. William then ran into the security room and saw that no one was in it.
"Ugh, damn it, Frank!" Shouted William. He then ran in and locked the doors.
"Okay", he said to himself. "I thinks it's best if I wait in here until-". A large fist then busted the door down.
"Nowhere to run, Billy" said Timebreaker.
"Come and get me, Allie" said William. Timebreaker charged forward and tried to punch William, but he dodged it and ended up punching the controls. They then sparked.
"Oh, that can't be good" said William.
Outside.
All the people had been gathered outside, when roller doors started blocking all the doors. Ronald then looked around.
"WILLIAM!" He shouted, not seeing his son anywhere.
In the resort, William was running and ran into the kitchen.
"Oh, great, now what?" He panted.
Eventually, Lady Wi-Fi then kicked the doors open. They then entered the kitchen.
"He has to be here somewhere" said Reflekta.
"Spread out", said Lady Wi-Fi. "Check the entire resort". They then left the kitchen and split up. When they left, William got out of the spices cabinet.
"Hmmm, a game of cat and mouse, huh?", wondered William. "Or should I say, cat and mice".
Reflekta was walking through the buffet lot, she checked every restaurant.
"Come out, William!", she called. "I promise I won't laser ya into one of my clones".
"I'd like to see you try". Reflekta looked everywhere, but she didn't see anyone.
"Where are you?!" Shouted Reflekta.
"Look behind you, ya fuckdoll". Reflekta turned around and was greeted by a chair smashing in her face. The force caused her to smash into one of the tables.
"Dumbass, I could see you coming from a mile away" said William pulling her up by her hair.
"Hey!", shouted Reflekta. "How are you-". She was interrupted when William through her into another chair.
"Let me guess, you got Akumatized first time around because you wanted to standout?" Asked William. He then grabbed Reflekta by the dress and threw her into the wall.
"You'd standout a lot more if you actually talked to people" said William. Reflekta fired lasers from a charm on her wrist. But, William used a metal serving tray to block it.
"All you were was the ghost standing in the background, while good people suffered in silence because of you" said William
"What are you talking about?", asked Reflekta. "No one is-". William threw the tray at Reflekta hitting her in the head.
"Oh, some one is", said William as he flexed his knuckles. "And you owe her a lot more then you can give". Reflekta aimed her wrist, only for William to grab it, twist her arm, and then bend it backwards, causing her to scream in pain. He then knocked her out. He took the charm off Reflekta's wrist and broke it. Nothing came out.
"Not here", said William tossing the pieces aside. "One down, four to go". He then walked off.
Outside, the police were there, as were doctors and news reporters. Then, Ladybug and Chat Noir arrived.
"Oh, thank goodness you two are" said Ronald.
"What seems to be the problem Mr. Bones?" Asked Ladybug.
"And why is every entrance blocked and window blocked?" Asked Chat Noir.
"A group of kids from my son's school wanted to use my auditorium", answered Ronald. "But, it was booked for the career expo. He said no, over and over, but they wouldn't listen. They even came here, but William had an idea. He said if the Italian girl beat him in a game of Poker, they'd get to use the auditorium".
"And if he won?" Asked Ladybug.
"He'd get the money and they'd get nothing" answered Ronald.
"So, what was the outcome?" Asked Chat Noir.
"He won, took the money, they got thrown out and then got Akumatized" answered Ronald.
"Is there anyway in?" Asked Ladybug.
"Allow me", said Chat Noir walking up to the door. "Catacly-". Before he could even charge up, he placed his hands on one of the doors and got shocked before being flung back.
"You okay?" Asked Ladybug.
"Electric flesh smells like chicken" groaned Chat Noir.
"I guess I forgot to mention that the doors are electrified" said Ronald.
Inside, Horrificator was in the indoor pool.
"You know, you'd be a lot more attractive if you stayed like this and had a bombshell body" said William getting Horrificator's attention. She then vomited up slime, but William used an umbrella to protect himself.
"Does Ivan find that kinky or something?" Asked William. Horrificator then threw a barbecue at William, who rolled out of the way.
"Hey, I'm not saying that's bad", said William. "I don't kink shame. Unless it's pedophillia, in that case you can go like most of Audrey's affair partners and fuck yourself". Horrificator then spewed slime again, to which William used a table to block it.
"You know, if you weren't such a pussy", said William. "You might've been able to ask Ivan if you could blow him like a balloon. Unless you like it rough". Horrificator then jumped towards him, only to get hit in the face by a pool net, then, SPLASH!
"Well, that was easy" said William. Horrificator then woke up, only to get repeatedly hit by an umbrella.
"Like I said, pretty easy" said William. He then took a button off of Horrificator's head and smashed it.
"Shit, a dud", groaned William. "That just leaves three more". He then walked off.
Timebreaker was now looking in the gym for William.
"Where are you?" Shouted Timebreaker. A dumbbell suddenly fell, catching her attention.
"Hey, short stack!". Timebreaker was then hit by an exercise ball, knocking her off her feet.
"Bring roller skates to a gym?" Asked William.
"Give me! That check!" Shouted Timebreaker charging towards him. He merely stuck his leg out, making her trip before punching her in the gut.
"Gee, your focus is as weak as you are short", said William. "I'm almost surprised that you don't have-". He was interrupted when Timebreaker tried to tackle him, only to fall onto the rowing machines.
"No, wait, THERE'S the anger issues" said William. Timebreaker only groaned as she got up.
"You think that having that junky watch broken would remind you to be careful", said William. "Or did you wrap it in bubble wrap this time?".
"HOLD STILL!" Shouted Timebreaker. She charged forward again, but William grabbed a barbell and THCRACK!
He struck the side of Timebreaker's helmet with great force, smashing it.
"Okay, so not the helmet" William said to himself. He then brought the barbell down on Timebreaker's ankles, crushing them and the skates, making her scream in pain.
"RGH! Not the skates either!", shouted William as he tossed the Barbell down. "Ugh, that leaves two more". He then walked off.
Outside.
"You sure you okay?" Asked Ladybug, helping Chat Noir up.
"Yeah, I'm fine" answered Chat Noir.
"I never thought I'd use this so early", said Ladybug. "But, LUCKY CHARM!". After her yo-yo stopped spinning, what came down was a red and black spotted…..
"Huh? A Collector's Coin?" Wondered Ladybug.
"Hey", said Ronald. "That coin looks famili-. Of course, the back-up access port".
"Back-up Access Port?" Asked Chat Noir.
"There's a back-up security system access port in my office", said Ronald. "Anyone who I trust has access to it".
"So what does it do?" Asked Ladybug.
"Should the main security system ever be damaged", answered Ronald. "The back up takes over and the emergency shut down begins, returning all the systems to their start up mode".
"Who has access to it?" Asked Chat Noir.
"Me, for one thing", answered Ronald. "I was planning on giving it to my son as well".
"Can you call your son?" Asked Ladybug.
"I can", said Ronald getting out his phone. "Thank goodness these doors don't block out radio waves".
Back inside, William was wandering through the hallways, when his phone rang. He then answered it.
"Hello" he said.
'Son, it's me'.
"Dad", said William. "Boy, am I glad to hear your voice".
'And I'm glad to hear yours. Now, you need to head to my office and use the back-up access port'.
"But I don't know the pin code" said William.
'You've always known it. It's the day you never forget'. William fell silent, he knew exactly what his father meant.
"Oh, well, that's easy", said William. "Now I just gotta get one of the Akumas out of your office".
'An Akuma?! William! Wait!'. But William had hung up.
Princess Fragrance was looking though the office.
"Hiding in Daddy's office won't save you" said Princess Fragrance.
"You know, you tell a lot about someone by a few things. How they act, how they speak and the contents of their room". Princess Fragrance then saw William in the office. She held up her gas gun, only for a vase knocked it out of her hand. William then grabbed by the neck and held her against the wall.
"You, wouldn't hit a girl, would you?" Asked Princess Fragrance.
"My fists prefer the pronouns they-them" said William before slugging Princess Fragrance across the face, grabbed her by the ponytail, swung her around before kicking her in the back, knocking her into the desk. Which knocked her out. William then pressed a button underneath the desk and a keypad appeared.
'A day I would never forget', William thought, it then hit him like a train. 'The day my mom died'. He then typed in the numbers.
"Security System, rebooting" the computer said. William then got onto his phone.
"I did it, dad" said William.
'Nice job, Ladybug and Chat Noir'. Little did they know, that Lady Wi-Fi was listening in on her phone.
The rollers soon came up and Ladybug and Chat Noir got inside. "Well, well, look who showed up". Lady Wi-Fi was now standing in front of them. She was about to use her phone when…
"I wouldn't do that if I were you". Everyone looked to the upper floors and gasped. William was holding Princess fragrance over the edge, at knife point.
"Give them your Akuma" demanded William as Princess Fragrance struggled. Ladybug, Chat Noir and Lady Wi-Fi just stood there.
"What do you value more?", asked William. "Hawkmoth's empty words? Or the life of your friend?".
"What are you doing?" Asked Ladybug.
"I will do it" said William.
"Stop, that's enough" demanded Chat Noir.
"Give Ladybug your Akuma, or this girl dies" stated William.
"No no, uh, here" said Lady Wi-Fi throwing her phone to Ladybug. She then smashed it and the Akuma flew out.
"No more evil doing for you, little Akuma", said Ladybug before spinning her yo-yo. "Time to de-evilise". She then swung her yo-yo and it caught the Akuma.
"Gotcha", said Ladybug before opening the Yo-yo and releasing the now purified Akuma. "Bye-bye, little butterfly".
She then threw the coin into the air.
"Miraculous Ladybug!". Swarms of Ladybugs then fix everything and the Akumas returned to normal.
William then tossed Rose to the floor, thankfully not the lower one.
"You really got Akumatized because you're a bunch of sore losers?", asked William. "Man, you are pathetic".
"We got Akumatized because you cheated!" Shouted Alya.
"Yeah, I cheated", William said Mockingly. "Oh wait, I didn't. And now, I have your dance money".
"How did you survive in here with five Akumas?" Asked Chat Noir.
"Being the son of a tycoon puts a target on your back", answered Ronald. "Plus, exercising with Valerie doesn't hurt either. You can check the security footage if you want?". A scream was then heard and Alix tackled William and they both fell off the side.
"Give me that check!" Shouted Alix. They continued to fall until….SHINK! William landed on the floor safely, but Alix was skewered in the side.
"Holy shit", William said, almost in shock. "That looks, oh man". Alya tried to charge at William, but Ladybug held her back with her yo-yo.
"What are you doing?" Asked Ladybug.
"Kicking this dicks ass!", shouted Alya. "It's all his fault!". William scoffed.
"Yeah, it's my fault you and your gal gaggle put your faith in the wrong thing", said William. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to relax after this shit show. Bye-bye Dumbass". He walked away.
"It's you!", shouted Alya. "You cost my mom her job, you ruined the dance. You'll get yours!". William threw the knife in his hands and it narrowly missed Alya.
"Hmm, need to work on my aim", said William. "And if I'll get mine, then you'll get yours too. I just hope the Grim Reaper has room for your soul in his bag". Ladybug and Chat Noir looked at William, then at each other.
'Hm, gambling is a fools game', thought William as he looked at the check. 'And only fools bet big'.
