Finally some more content, eh?
(One peaceful day of Aionios….)
(The City Library)
Taion was having a decently busy day. After dealing with imminent things, he was concentrating on the research he wanted to conduct for days. Z was a thing, and Origin was also a thing. But one thing caught his mind during the days.
The City's first founders.
After arriving at the city, Taion often went to the memorial hall where the founders were, and read the sentences on the metal plates over and over again. He was pretty sure that the words meant something, and they were deeply related to the secrets of the world. But even after digging for some materials in the library. He couldn't find significant information about the founders or the history related to them. Even their names. Everything was a mystery. However, that was what made Taion even more deeply immersed in his research.
And this day was not an exception. Taion was staying in the city library, digging for some information about the founders. It was always the same, he spent some hours in there and left there without significant discoveries.
But today was different.
Not that he found some valuable information,
But he received an emergency call in the library. He usually visits the library when there are few duties or quests to do, so he never experienced receiving a call there.
And there it was, a call from….
Eunie.
Taion sighed, and prepared for some loudness from the bird girl's emergency call. Thank the queens that the audio was only audible to him.
"H…Hello?" Taion whispered. And Eunie did the opposite.
"TAION! YOU GOTTA COME HERE RIGHT NOW! SNUFFIN' NOW!" Eunie shouted.
"Alright, alright, what is it, Eunie?" Taion whispered.
"Hah…hah…." Eunie was panting after the intense session of shouting.
"….I won't elaborate. Come to the memorial hall, RIGHT, NOW. Got it?" Eunie said.
"Why won't you elabo…"
(Plip)
'And she goes, hanging up in front of my face…' Taion sighed. But in his head, there was a brink of curiosity. Why would Eunie call him in the middle of the day like that? Eunie didn't really prefer making calls, rather, she preferred saying her words right in his face. What was happening?
Taion started to ponder about it and made a decision.
There is nothing better than seeing the situation with his own eyes.
(Memorial Hall)
"Oh, Taion's here!" Sena shouted.
"Sparkin' finally!" Eunie said.
"Alright, alright, what on Aionios is happening right now?" Taion asked, seeing the whole party assembled in the hall.
"Well…Taion...Why don't you look with your own eyes…?" Mio said, pointing her fingers upwards.
"Huh? What's….Holy sparks…?!" Taion followed Mio's words, and his eyes widened. The metal sculptures of the founders, previously in noncolored copper-like form, were starting to get clad in vibrant colors, as if they were alive.
"Yeah, mate, I also doubted my eyes, but yeah, this…happened." Lanz added.
"Why would this happen, anyway? Would someone color them while we were sleeping?" Sena said, tilting her head.
"I think…that would be not the case, Sena…." Noah said.
"Why would they…. What happ… Whoa!" Taion, in disbelief, approached one of the statues, and touched it.
And he froze in his place.
The statue was warm, as if it was really alive.
"What? What is it? What happened?" Eunie said, sweating a little.
"The…statue… It's warm…!" Taion said, his hand on the Vandham founder's statue.
"Of course it's warm, I'm not a sparkin' statue!" An unknown voice echoed through the hall.
"Eeek!" Eunie shrieked.
"Come on, Eunie, you were the one who brought us here, and you're now screamin' like a sparkin' first termer?" Lanz said.
"Voice! Voice!" Sena said.
"I like your attitude, kiddo, reaching out for us with no fear." Another voice echoed.
And after that…
The Vandham statue started to move.
"Phew…! Feels good! Who the spark put me on this sparking podium?" Vandham said, as he jumped down from the podium.
"WHAT THE SPARK?!" Eunie and Lanz screamed in unison.
"What the…." Noah and Mio gasped, holding their hands together.
"Gasp!" Sena gasped.
"Who the spark even gasps like that?" The Vandham said, stretching his limbs out.
"Wha….." Taion was still in shock.
"Nah, enough of this! Hey, guys, I know you guys are here, come down!" The Vandham exclaimed, gazing around the room.
"I waited for this!" The statue on top of the Cassini podium, now in full vitality, jumped down from the podium.
"I don't know why this is happening, but…Ahh, who cares!" The Rhodes jumped down, after letting out a deep sigh.
"Is…this really okay to do this…?" The Ortiz jumped down, doubt in his eyes.
"No need to hesitate, Nikol, it's finally time." The teacher of Ried jumped down.
"Now…only one left! Na'el! What are you doing up there! Come down!" The Vandham shouted.
"Oh come on! I wanted to keep this all mysterious!" The Doyle whined as she jumped down.
"Well, today's the day, so…we can't avoid this, you know." The Vandham shrugged.
"Hold up, hold up, mates, I understand that you guys are having a fun time, but…." Lanz interrupted.
"WHAT THE SPARK IS HAPPENING?" Lanz exclaimed, along with Eunie.
"Oh, yeah, right. That." The Vandham giggled.
"Are you…really…the founders…?" Taion said.
"Well, technically we're not, since we didn't really make the city, but…yes." The master of Ried said.
"But who cares? It feels good to be online again." The master of Cassini laughed.
"Well, at least give us your names, mate, we don't even know you except for your last name written on those plates," Lanz said.
"Oh, yeah, where are my manners? My name is Shulk. Not actually a founder…but it seems like the city people put me over here as the master of the Ried. If you're talking about the Ried founder, you'll be talking about Panacea, my pupil. It would be Panacea Ried here." Shulk said, in his calm voice.
"And I'm Rex! Also not a founder. I also have a pupil like my mate Shulk here, named Rinka. It would be Rinka Cassini here." Rex said, with his arms crossed proudly.
"I'm Matthew Vandham! And I'm feelin' full of beans right now!" Matthew said with a wide grin.
"I'm…Na'el Doyle. I'm the sister of Matthew over here, but we decided to use different last names after he left the city for a while for traveling and finding survivors." Na'el, the catgirl, said.
"I'm Glimmer, Glimmer Rhodes." Glimmer said with a cool tone.
"And I'm Nikol Oritz…Nice to meet you." Nikol said with a shy tone.
"So…you guys are the guys on the podiums, Amirite?" Lanz asked, still with doubt and disbelief.
"But how come you're all alive right now?" Noah said.
"Because it's the sparking day! April 26th!" Matthew exclaimed.
"April…What…?" Taion got startled.
"Come on, Matthew, don't just go and spill the information!" Na'el snapped.
"Nah, who cares anyway? It's the day, Na'el, we should even tell and advertise this news to everyone, not just keep this to ourselves!" Matthew said.
"I don't really think that's actually necessary….?" Nikol said.
"Well, I understand how Matthew feels right now, but yes, we would like a bit of embargo." Shulk nodded.
"I just don't want any more fuss than this…" Glimmer sighed.
But to their dismay…
The bringer of all chaos of the city arrived.
"What's all the fuss over here? You're attracting snuffin' everyone in this damn city!" The short combat girl, Ghondor Vandham appeared with a frown.
"And now we have a newcomer!" Shulk chuckled with interest.
"Ghondor!" Sena beamed, as she greeted Ghondor, not even caring about her potty mouth and her angry mood. She was pretty much used to it now.
"Don't you go smilin' at me!" Ghondor snapped.
"What? Can't a girl do something she wants?" Eunie participated in the little argument.
But the founders seemed to be interested in other things than the argument.
"Wait… Hey, Na'el, did…you hear that…?" Matthew said to his sister.
"Yeah, if I'm hearing this right…" Na'el stared at Matthew.
"GRAMPS?" The siblings exclaimed in unison, jumping toward the little Ghondor.
"Gra…WHO THE SPARK ARE YOU CALLING 'GRAMPS'?" Ghondor yelled.
"Ha! I don't know a thing about these guys, but I'm already liking them!" Eunie laughed.
As Eunie laughed as Ghondor got frustrated at the word 'Gramps', Matthew and Na'el started to talk about the situation.
"Do you think gramps got reincarnated as a spoiled brat….?" Matthew whispered.
"I don't think so, the name 'Ghondor' is a common…wait, it's not common!" Na'el said.
"Are you mocking me with my name?!" Ghondor shouted again.
"Name…Yeah, right! What's your full name?" Na'el asked.
"Tch…Ghondor Vandham…" Ghondor said, looking annoyed.
And it made them even more excited.
"GRAMPS!" The sibling exclaimed, now towering over Ghondor.
"Wha…?"
"I knew I would be able to meet you again here!" Matthew said, as he tried to hug Ghondor.
"What the spark are you doing?!" Ghondor said, avoiding Matthew with all her might.
"I missed you so much!" Na'el followed Matthew.
"Are you snuffers on drugs?!" Ghondor yelled.
"Dammit, Matthew… Why are you even…" Glimmer sighed.
(Omake)
While Matthew and Na'el were busy doing their business with the girl Ghondor, Rex got interested in the Ouroboros kids.
"So, since we all introduced our names, why don't you kiddos tell yours?" Rex said, approaching Noah and Mio.
'Why do I feel…familiar to this man…?' Mio thought to herself, but she tried to ignore the feeling. While Mio did that, Noah took his turn to introduce himself.
"Oh yeah, right. I'm Noah, nice to meet you, Rex." Noah said, showing his smile to Rex.
"I see, Noah! A pleasure to meet you t… Wait, N….N….Noah, is it?" Rex asked.
"Yeah." Noah nodded, feeling odd at Rex's reaction.
"I think I saw you somewhere before in my li… Noah…? N…oah…?" Rex's head was filled with confusion. Why was he feeling this strange familiarity with this boy? Had he met him somewhere before…? Questions filled his head, but he knew he had to focus on the catgirl next to him.
Wait, catgirl…?
White….
Haired….
Catgirl…?
Something inside Rex's head snapped.
"Guess it's my turn then! My name is…." Mio started her introduction, but…
"Mio." Rex interrupted.
"Yeah, Mio. That's my…. Wait… How did you know that….?" Mio said, with confusion in her golden eyes.
"Mio… So…you're here, Mio…" Rex mumbled.
"Huh…..?" Noah and Mio got startled.
"Okay, Mio, this might sound crazy, but I'm actually…." As he felt the extreme need to talk this to Mio, Rex started to pour out words to the catgirl.
Until a small electric shock interrupted him, mid-talk.
"Ow! What was…."
"Rex, that's against the rules." A familiar stoic voice was heard inside Rex's head.
"Seriously…A…?"
"Just because it's April 26th, that doesn't mean that you should spill everything to her." A Said.
"Come on, just a little bit…?"
"Sorry, but I already allowed that to you and Shulk that time, and it's hard to give you a second chance this time. Just hope that the Aionios problem to get solved quicker by them." A said.
"Hah…alright, alright…" Rex sighed.
"Uh…Rex… Are you okay…?" Mio said, concern in her eyes.
"Oh, no need to worry, I just mistook something. I was…thinking that you look pretty alike to your Queen Nia." Rex chuckled.
"You know the Queen?!" Noah and Mio both said in unison.
'Wait, what? Why did that trigger them even more…? Did I… mess up…?'
"Unfortunately, yes. And I wish you the best of luck to explain everything to the kids." A said.
'Oh come on!' Rex complained.
"Incredible, absolutely phenomenal, Rex."
"You never change." Shulk suddenly interrupted.
"Were you actually listening to all of this?!" Rex said.
"I'm always aware of my surroundings. Although I'm not really feeling it recently, I did certainly feel that." Shulk grinned.
"I'm not sure whether I like that attitude or not…."
And that was it! Long time no see! And now, we have the founders of the City and A in our What-if cast! Which means...
Future Redeemed What-if crack.
